Episode number 168
we're talking about the
breakfast at cape may cafe.
This is a character diningbuffet and I think this has done
it in for me and characterdining buffets.
I don't know if I will ever goback to one except the two we
have previously talked about inprevious episodes.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
One being Tusker
House.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
Tusker House and
Topolinos Terrace.
This one, this one's up there.
Well, we'll just get to it.
Speaker 1 (02:52):
We'll get to that
point.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
This one made me very
uncomfortable.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
This one wasn't my
favorite either.
I'll just go ahead and say thatSee thank you.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
Okay, all right, but
if you're new here, I'm Zach,
I'm Brittany and we do thispodcast every single week One.
We try to help you have abetter Walt Disney World
vacation.
Our tagline is there's far toomuch to see and do.
We're here to help guide youthrough, and that is really true
.
There's a ton of theserestaurants.
There's so much coming at youwith the multi-pass now and we
haven't even talked about that.
(03:21):
What is can you do with that?
The attractions, therestaurants it's very
overwhelming, I get it, butwe're here to help kind of break
it down and help you plan abetter vacation.
That's why we're doing thesedining reviews is to give our
opinion on it and so you candecide, based on what your
family likes or dislikes, ifit's a good place to book for
(03:43):
you.
Speaker 1 (03:43):
Right, Yep exactly.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
Spoiler alert this
one was not for us.
Speaker 1 (03:47):
It wasn't, and you
know if you've been listening
for a while.
I enjoy the character dining.
I enjoy the character diningbuffets, but this one was my
least favorite.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
Okay, well, we'll get
more into that in a minute.
And number two we do thispodcast is we just want to take
you to Disney for about 45minutes every week 30 to 45
minutes depending on the episode.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
Sometimes an hour
Sometimes an hour.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
Break your week up.
Kind of give you that midweekbreak.
Helps us.
Yes, and speaking of taking youto Disney, we've got an
exciting episode coming in thenext few weeks where we're going
to take you to Disney by sound.
Oh, yes, and it's going to be agreat episode.
We're going to be playing somesounds and it's going to
immediately take you.
These sounds are so unique toanywhere they're unique only to
(04:31):
Disney.
Speaker 1 (04:32):
And if so, if you've
been, you should be able to
recognize them.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
You will know them
immediately and you will be
right where that sound is.
That's in a few weeks.
It's going to be a fun episode, but yeah, so we just try to
take you there and break yourweek up and hope you have a good
week.
But yeah, so, brittany, whatdoes Disney say about?
Speaker 1 (04:54):
Minnie's Beach Bash
Breakfast at Cape May Cafe.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
Minnie's Breakfast.
Yes, just Minnie's Breakfast.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
All right.
So Minnie Mouse and some of herfriends are gathering at Cape
May Cafe to start the day withMinnie's Beach Bash Breakfast.
They're dressed up in theirbeachy best and you're invited
to join in the fun.
Create unforgettable memoriesas you get autographs and photos
during a delightful meal.
Enjoy a spread of flavorfulbreakfast.
(05:22):
Favorites like Mickey Mousewaffles, scrambled eggs,
seasoned potatoes, sausage,oatmeal and more.
Characters only appear duringthe breakfast buffet and not the
dinner seafood buffet.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
Yeah, so there are
two things there.
They have the breakfast buffetand then they have a dinner
all-you-can-eat seafood buffet, which used to be more appealing
because it was all you can eatcrab legs okay not anymore, but
we'll get to that in a littlebit when we talk about the menu
and all that good stuff, but thekey is, if you're wanting to do
character here, it's in atbreakfast.
Yes, so you know we got to talkabout history of the restaurant,
(05:57):
of course.
So this uh restaurant, cape maycafe, is located in the beach
club resort near ep, whichopened in 1990.
Closed due to the COVID-19pandemic, with the rest of Walt
Disney World in March 2020.
And it reopened in May 2021with limited character
interactions and family styledining.
I probably would have liked itmore during that time.
Speaker 1 (06:17):
Right.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
And back when some of
these restaurants at that time
were opening back up, several ofthe buffets did the family
style dining dining.
Well, so I wasn't a big fan ofthe family style dining but the
limited character interactionsspeaks to me.
Okay, all right, anyway, fullbuffet and character
interactions have returned now.
So it's just like it waspre-pandemic, designed to mirror
the design and decor of thebeach club resort.
However, it's a little bitdifferent.
So the beach club resort isbased on I'm sorry, yeah, the
(06:49):
beach club is based on the uharchitecture of it's kind of
like a new england theme withinfluences from newport, rhode
island.
Okay, so I've been to newport.
My brother used to live upthere and whatnot in newport but
in providence went to newportand it was a beautiful town
right on the coast there andwasn't really beachy it was.
(07:09):
It was a big uh fishing townokay like the coast guard has
their academy there.
So a lot of fishing boats andstuff.
So I remember me and my brotherwere at this uh like an irish
bar having lunch and lookedbeside me at the bar there was
this old man, white hair, smoking a cigarette, weathered
(07:31):
face, had on like that cableknit sweater that we wear
because they look good.
They wear them because they'refunctional, like you could tell
yeah he's been on the ocean likehe was a real ocean fisherman.
Okay, I was like, wow, okay, soanyway, that's what the beach
club is themed after.
Um, but cape may cafe is not.
(07:51):
Now the design reflects thecolor palette of the beach club,
with the soft uh, what colorswere they like?
The?
Speaker 1 (07:59):
like blues and yellow
.
Speaker 2 (08:01):
The blues and the
yellows and the light oranges
and reds kind of.
Speaker 1 (08:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:06):
Like very soft colors
.
Speaker 1 (08:07):
Right, bright, but
soft yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:10):
And so it is not
based on a New England beach
town, though it is actuallybased on the beachside town of
Cape May, New Jersey, which isthe southernmost town in New
Jersey and known as America'sfirst seaside resort.
Speaker 1 (08:24):
Oh okay.
So New Jersey is known asAmerica's first seaside resort?
Oh okay.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
So New Jersey is not
considered the Northeast.
Speaker 1 (08:28):
Right.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
We're not New England
, it's considered like
mid-Atlantic.
So Cape May Cafe or sorry, CapeMay, New Jersey is the largest
commercial fishing port in NewJersey and its history dates
back to the late 1600s.
Lots of the decorations in CapeMay Cafe is based on the turn
of the century activities in thebeach town of Cape May, New
Jersey.
(08:49):
Cape May, New Jersey reallydoes have beach cabanas like
those constructed over some ofthe tables in Cape May Cafe.
Remember how they were kind oflike awnings looking?
Yeah, they really do have thosein the actual town.
Yeah, Although not covered, theydo resemble the blue and white
colors from steger beach serviceI guess that's the company that
(09:09):
runs the beach.
Uh, chairs, okay.
Inside cape may cafe you'llalso find croquet balls and
mallets used as decor invictorian times.
People played croquet in capemay, new jersey so it's not just
regular deck like it's therebecause of what it's what it is,
yeah and the mural in cape maycafe depicts children's children
in old-fashioned dress playingin the sand, which is a which is
(09:32):
reminiscent of old postcardsfrom cape may, new jersey, from
the turn of the century prettycool yeah and cape may.
Speaker 1 (09:39):
New jersey is also
home to many great seafood
restaurants so that's why it hasall these decorations, and then
the seafood buffet at night.
Speaker 2 (09:46):
Okay.

They're going to save you money.
Stress, their services arecompletely free.
To use a no obligation quoteall that.
I don't know why you would notwant to put the stress of
planning a Walt Disney Worldvacation on somebody else.
Speaker 1 (11:28):
Yeah, I mean I say it
time and time again Like we
honestly do not keep up with thedates of when we need to make
our dining reservations.
And you know, Erica reaches outto us about a week, five days
to a week prior, Like, hey, isthis still what you're thinking?
Is this still where you want toeat?
Are you still thinking lunch?
Are you still thinking dinner?
(11:48):
And then she does the rest forus, and that in itself is a lot
of stress off of us.
I think that used to bestressful before, so now we
don't have to worry about any ofthat.
Yep.
Speaker 2 (12:01):
All right.
So we're talking about the menuat cape may cafe and we did
breakfast and again we had thedining plan.
Speaker 1 (12:06):
Now the character
buffet breakfast or just the
character dining are goodcredits for your dining plan yes
, you get your money, except forthe ones that take two, then
they're not worth it right, butthis one, the if you eat
breakfast here, is $47 per adultplus tax and gratuity and $30
(12:30):
per child plus tax and gratuity.
Speaker 2 (12:32):
So it's a little
expensive for breakfast, but I
think this is what most of themgo for now.
Speaker 1 (12:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (12:36):
The non-character
ones are a little bit less than
this.
Speaker 1 (12:40):
Right, just a little
bit yep.
Now your breakfast buffetofferings again.
Some of the things here you canfind are salted caramel, beach
buns served with vanilla cream, oatmeal and grits, cheddar,
biscuits and gravy, omelet andcarving stations, fruits w
shaped and mini shaped waffles, chocolate chip pancakes and
(13:00):
potato barrels which, if you arenot familiar with that term,
disney refers to tater tots aspotato barrels also not on the
menu.
Speaker 2 (13:16):
They have a crepe
station as well oh yeah, I
forgot about that.
Yeah, not on the menu.
But they have.
They'll make the crepe for youright there, yes, so.
So for breakfast I just had mynormal breakfast Scrambled eggs,
bacon, sausage.
I'm not big on waffles orFrench toast I like them, but I
really feel horrible aftereating all of that and some
fruit.
That's basically all that.
(13:37):
I had your typical breakfast.
I think I had a Mickey-shapedwaffle, because you have to get
one.
Speaker 1 (13:41):
Right, that's what I
was about to say when you're
talking about waffles and stuff.
Like I'm not huge on frenchtoast, but I'll get the waffles,
especially mickey or minishaped waffles, um, or others
that we've talked about, likesimba and stuff.
But here I think I did get amini one, just because it was
mini, but I usually just eat afew bites of it because I want
to try other things and not getso full just from that.
(14:03):
And I did try their cheddarbiscuit and gravy and it was
pretty good.
Speaker 2 (14:06):
Pretty good.
Yes, and the boys.
Like our oldest Ryan, he's nota big breakfast food person, so
he just usually gets likecroissants and breads.
Speaker 1 (14:15):
Yeah, he'll get like
croissants or muffins.
Also, he does like French toast, so he'll get French toast and
some bacon, but that's usuallywhat he gets.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
And Nolan is like me
he eats all the breakfast stuff.
Speaker 1 (14:27):
Yes, yes, he'll get
the eggs, he'll get some bacon,
he'll get a waffle, and thenhe'll go for some fruit and
muffins, and all that as well.
Speaker 2 (14:37):
Yeah, and then
there's no lunch here, and then
the dinner they have anall-you-can-eat seafood buffet
and the price is the same, except for the kids.
It's a little cheaper $47 peradult for the dinner, $27 per
child Again.
That's ages 3 through 9, so alittle bit cheaper.
Speaker 1 (14:55):
On that On the
children.
Yes, and some of the thingsinclude New England-style clam
chowder, plant-based seasonalsoup, seafood pasta salad.
A carving station featuringchef's selection.
They have steam boils withclams, mussels, shrimp, corn and
red potatoes.
(15:15):
New England captain's friedseafood selection.
There's paella roasted chickensustainable catch of the day.
There's also some plant-basedseasonal inspired dishes,
seasonal vegetables, chef'sdessert selection with Cape May
signature bonbons.
Now you do have snow crab legs$29 per pound.
Speaker 2 (15:37):
Yes, used to be
included.
Now it's $29 per pound, so thismay not be quite the value that
it used to be Right.
Yeah, because I would wishquite the value that it used to
be Right.
Speaker 1 (15:45):
Yeah, because I would
wish that the crab legs were
included.
Speaker 2 (15:48):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
Or give an option,
maybe even like adults pay a
certain price, and if you wantto add crab legs, pay like $10
more, or something you know, andI would assume that the $20 per
pound is not included.
Speaker 2 (16:03):
If you use a dining
plan, right I would plan Right,
I would assume.
Speaker 1 (16:06):
Yeah, it doesn't
notate it here, I'm not sure,
but it's $29 per pound not $20.
Speaker 2 (16:10):
$29, sorry.
Speaker 1 (16:10):
Yes, and then they do
have the classic favorites for
children as well.
So if you have children thataren't big on seafood, you know
I did mention roasted chickenand stuff as well, but they also
have pizza, macaroni and cheese, chicken and pasta okay, so,
britney, tell us the charactersthat were here and what you
thought of the restaurant uhwell, one character I know is
(16:32):
mini mouse of course this is herbeach bash, so it has to be
many yes, and so loved, loved, loved that and the uh, I don't
know.
I loved the outfits okay, um, myfavorite out of all of them
here was probably Minnie.
Uh, daisy was very cute as well.
(16:53):
You know, they have thoselighter, brighter colors.
So, like Minnie had on likethis striped uh dress that was
like pink and purple and blueand a fun pink hat, and then
daisy had on like this lightblue dress and then, um, you
know the, the decor, the theming, like it is very bright in
(17:14):
there.
I will say, um, and I'm tryingto remember, I want to get the
characters right donald wasthere donald was there and goofy
, yeah and pluto that's what I'mtrying to double check about
pluto yeah, so donald, you knowhe was wearing one of those what
what do they call them the?
when the guys wear like theprint shirts, like a hawaiian
print like a hawaiian button-upshirt with a striped shirt
(17:37):
underneath it and a hat, and hewas real fun goofy he had on
like yes, pluto was for surethere, because I well yes so and
then, goofy, had on almost likeswim trunks in a swim shirt
with it.
Yeah, um, you know, and justbeing goofy, of course, uh,
trying to.
I don't know if pluto was here, zach, I'll have to go through
(18:02):
some of our pictures because I'm, but anyway, um, I enjoyed
their attire, for sure, and theyalso.
We forgot to mention this.
Um, they also bring a breadservice to your table to try as
well, and that was really good.
It was like this bread withit's the salted caramel beach
bun, so I did mention it, butyou don't get it off of the
(18:23):
buffet.
They bring it to you and it'sthe salted caramel beach bun, so
I did mention it, but you don'tget it off of the buffet.
They bring it to you and it'slike pull apart bread coated in
salted caramel and comes with anaccompanying accompaniment of
the vanilla cream sauce, so youdon't get those from the actual
buffet.
They bring it to your table foryou okay, I'm looking.
Speaker 2 (18:39):
It was mini goofy
Vinny, goofy Daisy and Donald.
Speaker 1 (18:47):
Yeah, I didn't think.
Speaker 2 (18:48):
Pluto, no Pluto.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
Because, remember
some of these, you know there's
not Pluto and Nolan's alwayslike where's Pluto, that's right
, where's?
Pluto.
So but again, like as far ashow they were dressed and
everything like I love theiroutfits I feel like we did have
to wait a little bit longer onthem their outfits I feel like
we did have to wait a little bitlonger on them.
Um, at at the other more recentcharacter dinings I felt like
(19:10):
we didn't have to wait long atall, like we got them all in and
still had plenty of time to eat.
After this one, we were waitinga little bit longer for the
characters and we'd been doneeating for a little while and
still hadn't seen who was thelast one we hadn't seen.
Speaker 2 (19:25):
Donald, donald.
I'm looking at the pictureright now with Nolan.
Speaker 1 (19:29):
Okay, so we'd been
waiting you know a little bit
for Donald, and so you know, Idon't know it's up to you guys,
like how long you want to waitand stuff, but we'd been done
and we did wait because, youknow, nolan insisted that I got
to meet Donald too.
Speaker 2 (19:42):
I'm looking at the
time stamp of the pictures.
It was an hour.
Speaker 1 (19:46):
Yeah, so where other
character dining that we went to
, within the first 30 minuteswe'd met all the characters.
Yes, you know.
So just keep that in mind.
I don't know if it's that wayevery time, but it was that way
for us this particular morning.
So in this, the time that we gotthere was go through at 9 am
(20:08):
yeah, because the firstcharacter we met was daisy and
she came around at 905 big hugs, you know joked around with me
and nolan because we were theonly ones really getting
pictures.
Then five minutes later, nottoo bad goofy came around.
Okay, he did like knuckles andall that with Nolan and pictures
and hugs and all of that goodstuff.
(20:29):
Then Minnie though she didn'tcome for like 15 minutes later.
Speaker 2 (20:35):
Well, Minnie's
cooking the food.
Speaker 1 (20:37):
Yes, she is, and she
had to look all beautiful in her
dress, but then, from the timeMinnie came at 926, donald
didn't show up until almost 30minutes later.
Yeah, yeah.
So uh.
I will say, though, this if youwant to kind of embarrass
someone for their birthday, thisis a good place for it you want
(21:01):
me to talk about it?
Speaker 2 (21:03):
you can.
Okay, so I was violated here oh, come on.
Speaker 1 (21:11):
This is a disney show
, don't?
Speaker 2 (21:13):
say that I didn't
want to.
They were like putting, like, like putting their arms around
me and stuff oh yeah, so likethat's what I'm yeah at other
character dining they read theroom, they.
Speaker 1 (21:24):
They, they didn't,
you know, didn't push it.
Ok, they don't want to interact, so we'll just keep it with
these two.
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (21:33):
I was putting out
vibes of hey, they want to
interact with you.
I do not.
Those were the vibes I wasputting out and at Tusker House
they were read quite, quite well.
Here I don't know if they wereread incorrectly or they just
did not care yeah not, they werehugging me and like putting
(21:54):
their head, their hand, on myhead and trying to make me smile
.
It was goofy's kitchen all overagain oh, it was not it was no
but I loved goofy I wasextremely uncomfortable the
whole time here.
So, first of all, yes, I wasvery embarrassed.
Secondly, what you're talkingabout and this was ryan's actual
(22:16):
birthday- yes, so we could havedone it, but he is just like me
when it comes to not drawingattention to himself and not
wanting to be like you, notcenter of the attention I don't
like being like.
I don't like being the centerof attention.
Speaker 1 (22:30):
Ryan doesn't like
being the center of attention
either, but they're one of theservers I will say has an
amazing voice yes, so this partwasn't necessarily embarrassing,
but all eyes are on you becauseit would have been for ryan
everyone wanted to see who wasdoing this singing, because it
was an amazing voice like thiscast member is bound to do some
(22:51):
kind of broadway it's got to bea singer or something yeah yeah
like a singer, you know as asecond job, I don't know, but he
had a voice he was amazing andwas singing happy birthday to.
It was like me, me, me, me,like it was very like it was
really impressive.
Speaker 2 (23:07):
Like that was pretty
cool.
Yeah, ryan would have hated itthough, right, I mean, I would
not have liked it either, but itwas fun watching others enjoy
that right.
No one would have loved it.
Speaker 1 (23:17):
Yes, you would have
too no, I wouldn't no, but um,
but he, he did a great job, youknow.
But if you you have someonethat just gets embarrassed
easily because attention's onthem, this would be a great
place for it.
But then it happened severalmore times as well.
So the first time was amazing, but then the other two times I
was like, okay, we just heardthis.
Speaker 2 (23:37):
So when I talk about
this was like Goofy's Kitchen in
Disneyland.
It wasn't so loud and screamingand noises going off all the
place.
That wasn't like that it was.
I was very uncomfortable withthe characters interacting with
me when I obviously did not wantcharacters interacting with me
right like I was fine takingpictures of you and Nolan and
(23:58):
the characters, and me and Ryando not want to be interacted
with the characters whatsoeveryeah like.
So that's what made meuncomfortable.
Now it was pretty cool.
They did break and like dobeach dancing with other like if
you're into that, that's likethis is what disney's for.
Right for little kids to go andhave fun with that, with the
(24:18):
characters or any, not evenlittle kids.
Whoever wants to be like thatand go do that.
Speaker 1 (24:22):
That's just not for
me right, well and see, for me
it wasn't so much like thisstuff that didn't impress me.
I guess maybe because we'dalready done another uh
character breakfast buffet thatwas a little more bigger and
elaborate with the choices.
So I think that was part of whythe food tasted fine, but I
(24:43):
felt like it was kind oflackluster with the amount of
food.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
So here's the thing
We've done Topolino's Terrace,
we've done Tusker House, we'vedone Boma, which is not a
character buffet, but it is abreakfast buffet, right.
And the food at those places, well, tusker House is it's the
same breakfast food, but theyjust have better specialty foods
, right, right.
Yeah, so your tusker house isit's the same brexit food, but
they just have better specialtyfoods, right right, yeah so your
expectations were too highgoing in here.
(25:07):
That was the thing.
Speaker 1 (25:08):
I think maybe if we'd
flipped it around and had done
this one earlier in the week anddone tusker after this, maybe
I'd have a little bit differentof opinion on that.
Because again, yeah, like yourbasic items, like your waffles,
your eggs, you know the meat, all of that, that was fine.
But I but I just felt likethere wasn't as much to choose
from.
But again this was coming likewhat two, three days after?
Speaker 2 (25:32):
animal kingdom yeah,
so your expectations were too
high yeah see, my expectationswere too low, which was fine.
I wasn't disappointed in thefood.
I was disappointed that thecharacters were putting their
arms on me.
I just don't't.
I just read the room.
Just read the room, like youcan obviously tell when people
don't want to be bothered.
Speaker 1 (25:52):
I think for me like
it was more just again what I
was saying about the foodchoices.
But again, I think it wouldhave been different had we gone
here first, but then also, Idon't know, I guess maybe
waiting as long as we did forthe characters, because I think
the last several characterdinings we've gone to we just
(26:14):
met them a lot quicker.
Speaker 2 (26:15):
Well, I think we were
so, because we were going to
Typhoon Lagoon after this.
Speaker 1 (26:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (26:20):
I think we were
getting ready to go to that.
I think we were ready to go.
So maybe maybe we weren'trushing it, but by the time we
were done eating, I think wewere like, okay, let's go.
But Nolan was like I have tomeet Donald.
Speaker 1 (26:33):
But at the same time
it had been an hour you know
where.
The other, more recent, notjust on this trip but the last
couple of trips, you know it'sbeen within 30 minutes you've
met them all.
Speaker 2 (26:44):
Riddle me this.
I was looking at the picture ofNolan and Donald Nolan.
I'm sorry Donald had the youknow the button-up shirt
unbuttoned and a normal shirt on.
Yes, no, swim trunks right butgoofy.
Speaker 1 (26:57):
On the other hand,
has swim trunks in a swim shirt
and he's a dog yeah, I know, Idon't know I just I don't ever
get it.
I just do not understand yeah, but again, you knowing, you know
they have beach umbrellasclosed up along like the window
area, the bright colors, youknow the, the character
(27:17):
interactions for those that wantcharacter interactions are
great, you know, I like thatthey were in these beach themed
outfits.
You know there was a reallycool sandcastle sculpture in
like a glass case not far fromwhere we were sitting, actually
right next to where we weresitting.
Uh, you know.
So I mean, again, it's, it's agood character experience for
(27:41):
interaction and stuff.
But is it going to be in my toptwo or three?
Speaker 2 (27:45):
no, so I think you
can get better buffets even with
characters, with better food.
Tusker House obviously.
Speaker 1 (27:52):
Tusker House, for
sure Now without characters Boma
.
Speaker 2 (27:56):
Without characters
Boma and so I'm looking at the
price right now.
Tusker House Okay, so TuskerHouse is more expensive.
Tusker House is $59.
Speaker 1 (28:05):
Per adult.
Speaker 2 (28:06):
Per adult and $35 for
kids.
So Tusker House is about 13more expensive than this.
And boma let me find boma here, but you know.
Speaker 1 (28:17):
But again, tusker
house is going to have some
specialty items, you know someafrican dishes and meats and
stuff like that, and I can'treally say, because some of you
might be like why are you noteven talking about chef mickey?
Speaker 2 (28:28):
so we when we stop it
oh my gosh, you child sometimes
but real quick.
Boma's 59 and 35 for kids, so alittle bit more expensive too,
because you're getting betterquality specialty foods here
right, yes, and they do havesome, some really good specialty
items, for sure sorry, now backto chef, chef mickey's.
Speaker 1 (28:51):
The only reason why
I'm not saying a whole lot about
them right now is because whenwe went it was after covid and
it was that family style, so wedidn't really get to experience
the full buffet options of foodand the characters were that
distant character interactionwhich is perfect for me but I'm
(29:12):
just saying like that's why I'mnot really including that in
this discussion, because you andryan don't have to, but I think
me and nolan need to experienceit one more time as a buffet so
even with the social distancingthey had during then, it was
still extremely loud in there.
It was it was.
Speaker 2 (29:33):
It was way too much.
Speaker 1 (29:34):
So it's probably on
par with how loud Goofy's
Kitchen in California is.
Speaker 2 (29:38):
It was on par with
that.
Just the characters didn't comeclose to you.
Speaker 1 (29:42):
Yeah so.
Speaker 2 (29:42):
I would prefer that,
but even then I'm done.
I would never go to ChefMickey's Right.
Well, I'm just saying like, butto be able to compare food.
I'm saying for me, but to beable to like, compare food
choices and all that I will say.
Chef Mickey's did have adifferent selection of breakfast
items than just your typicalbreakfast.
Oh, like what they had broughtout to the table.
Yes, they had differentselections.
Speaker 1 (30:00):
I will say that yes,
so, but I mean, would we go back
to Cape May?
No, no, no.
But this could be your family'sfavorite, it might be, you know
.
And again, maybe if we had wentprior to tesker house on this
trip, I might have ranted andraved a little bit more about it
, but I just didn't like howlong we did have to wait to meet
(30:23):
our final character that wehadn't met at the time, and then
just there weren't quite asmany specialty options on the
buffet.
Speaker 2 (30:30):
My opinion would
still be the same.
Speaker 1 (30:32):
Yeah, it doesn't
matter, but you know, if you're
wanting to experience it, ifyou've been before and you're
wanting a different characterdining and buffet options, you
know, just keep in mind this isbreakfast only for the
characters, and to see them intheir beach outfits and stuff, I
mean then yeah.
(30:52):
Or if you're staying at beachclub or yacht club and that's
the key here.
Speaker 2 (30:58):
If you want to like a
breakfast buffet and you're
staying here, then yeah yeah, now would I again.
Speaker 1 (31:06):
You know your family.
But if you, you were stayingall the way at Animal Kingdom?
Speaker 2 (31:10):
Lodge.
Speaker 1 (31:12):
I would not come here
, no.
Speaker 2 (31:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (31:15):
Not for this
restaurant anyway.
Speaker 2 (31:17):
So this is not for us
.
I was violated.
Speaker 1 (31:21):
Will you stop saying
that word?
Speaker 2 (31:23):
And Brittany was less
than enthused with the food.
Yeah, is that a good summary?
Yeah, Again.
Speaker 1 (31:28):
I mean, their cheddar
biscuits and gravy, like one of
their specialty items, was good, but it wasn't to me, it wasn't
anything to rant and rave about.
And even the bread the pullapart bread that they brought to
the table, I thought I wouldhave liked it a little bit more.
And then you know, your otherbreakfast items are like what
you can find elsewhere.
Speaker 2 (31:45):
So everything was
just fine.
Yeah, nothing, no, alright, somoves us on to Disney trivia.
I've already answered this, butwhat city is Cape May Cafe
