Speaker 1 (00:21):
Hello and welcome to
Circle of Parks podcast, episode
number 188.
Today we are talking aboutfirst timers must eats in Epcot.
There is far too much to seeand do.
We are here to help guide youthrough, but before we do that,
we must talk.
Disney merch, disney merch.
(00:43):
So this week, disneystorecom, there is a really cute Spirit
Jersey for kids.
Yes, that's right, I said forkids.
It is priced at $54.99.
Wishes come true in thispullover Spirit Jersey with
puffy, glittering Disneyprincess logo and Stardust
(01:05):
accents plus dreamy screen artof seven princesses.
So it's a pullover spiritjersey, like they all are.
Okay, but the screen artfeatures Cinderella, moana and
Rapunzel on the front, and thenthe screen art on the back
shoulder is Ariel, tiana, belleand Jasmine.
(01:26):
So I thought it was a super, super cute spirit jersey.
Again, it's kid size, priced at$54.99.
And that is this week's Disneymerch.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
So I'm going to
assume this is for like girls.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
I mean, yeah, kids,
whoever likes the princesses,
yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
Mm-hmm.
Okay, I'm surprised theyhaven't been making spirit
jerseys for kids more.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
Right, yeah, like you
see a couple here and there,
but it's not like a hugeselection all the time.
You're right.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
Yeah, I just thought
there would be more.
It's just not a big selectionof spirit jerseys.
Yeah.
Not that we well, we have a few, but yeah, you don't see many,
yeah, no you don't, so all right.
Well, thank you everybody forjoining us.
Episode number 188.
And let me tell you, this onewas hard to narrow down.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
Right, so you just
included them all now no.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
So and here's the
thing Like don't eat.
You're not going to eat at allthese restaurants your first
time going.
This is more of like a guide ofwhat we think a first-timer
might hear of or think isquintessential.
Epcot and we haven't eaten atall these restaurants.
We're not even going to try tolike give a review, but it's
(02:37):
just, there's so much in Epcotthat it's hard to narrow down
where to eat at for your firsttime.
Speaker 1 (02:45):
Right, right.
And we haven't experienced allof these ourselves either, but
at some point in time weprobably will.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
We will, yes, and if
you're new here, thank you for
joining us.
We have a lot of new listeners.
I'm Zach, I'm Brittany and wedo this podcast every single
week and our goal is.
We have three goals.
One one to just break your weekup, take you to disney, help
you relax, helps us really relax, takes our mind off whatever's
going on during the week, whether you're out, walking,
running at the gym, in your car, wherever.
(03:14):
Thank you for listening, wereally do appreciate it.
To help you have a better waltdisney world vacation.
We've learned we've done somany bad things wrong, sorry,
not bad but we've done so manybad things wrong, sorry, not bad
but we've done so many wrongthings and so many good things.
We're just here to share ourexperience and maybe maybe not
take our advice, but kind oflike, hey, tell yourself, like
(03:36):
well, they tried this, so maybethis will work for us and maybe
it won't, you know.
And three just help you relax.
If you try to go too hard inthese restaurants or not in
these restaurants, but in theseparks Disney's going to win.
Yeah you're not going to beatDisney.
How you win Disney is to nottry and do everything in one
(03:56):
trip because you're not going toget it done and you're going to
beat yourself up and you'regoing to be mad because you
didn't do everything and thenyou're going to be that family
in the park yelling at eachother because you're stressed
out trying to get everythingdone and that's not making a
very pleasurable trip.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
Yeah, just pick a
handful of what you think would
be favorites for the family andif you get all those done, then
anything additional great.
But if you're like we've got togo here and here and here and
here and while we're there we'regonna do this and this and this
and this, then it does becomeoverwhelming and things happen.
Life happens sometimes.
Things might be open at thetime that you're at that
(04:32):
attraction, you know, and youjust can't let it get to you you
can't.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
Our second trip
almost broke us.
We did that we tried to do thatwe tried to go from 6 am till
midnight, with two boys thatwere six and four.
That was a mistake, right andthen.
But our first trip, we didn'tknow anything, we did no
research and it was so, it wasgreat right, yeah and we didn't
know any better right.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
Ignorance is bliss
going along with the people we
were with and oh, okay, we'regonna do this now.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
Sure, all right we
had no idea, but anyway, so
we're here to try to help youhave a better vacation, so you
don't need a vacation from thevacation right, yes, so we're
gonna start right off here andwe're gonna go sit down
restaurants, quick service andthen snacks again.
This was very hard to narrowdown but I think number one on
(05:20):
the list, quintessential epcot.
When you think of epcot, ifyou're our age, you grew up on
full house, you grew up on boymeets world.
All list quintessential epcot.
When you think of epcot, ifyou're our age, you grew up on
full house, you grew up on boymeets world.
All those quintessential shows, all they all went to walt disney
world right in the 90s eisnerwanted to showcase a lot of the
abc shows in disney because theyhad they owned abc, so all the
(05:40):
popular shows always went towalt disney world right and
there were several scenes infull house that was filmed in
this restaurant that we're aboutto talk about and Boy Meets
World.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
Well, I just Full
House sticks out more.
Full House is the one thatsticks out in your head.
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (05:52):
With Uncle Jesse in
the aquarium.
We're going to Coral ReefRestaurant, but it was.
Danny also it was Danny too,but it was in Coral Reef in the
aquarium.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
And now we say all
this, but yet we still have not
eaten here.
We have not eaten here.
Speaker 2 (06:05):
And you know, here's
the thing.
We have an aquarium restauranthere in Nashville.
We don't go to it.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
Yeah, but this is
called Coral Reef.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
This is Coral Reef.
It's something about eatingseafood while looking at seafood
.
Yeah, it's like, hey, this isyour buddy right here.
I don't know if I can do thatRight, I don't know, it's just
weird yeah.
And there's just so many more,I don't know say better.
But, there's so many otheroptions, so many other options,
that we haven't been here andtheir menu has been completely
(06:35):
revamped and it doesn't lookthat bad.
Entrees the most expensiveentree is $45, which is surf and
turf, but you do get a greatview of the second largest
aquarium in the united states.
The first one's a georgiaaquarium.
This is the second largest onenow and surf and turf.
Grilled mahi-mahi mojo chicken, coastal palm cakes, seafood,
(06:56):
boil, shrimp, fettuccine thoseare going to be your entrees.
Speaker 1 (06:59):
You know, I haven't
heard anything bad about it
right and some people love thisplace yeah, and then your
appetizers are a car salad, chicken wings, coconut fried
shrimp and lobster bisque.
And then for kids they havesustainable fish, macaroni and
cheese, grilled steak, grilledchicken with barbecue sauce and
grilled shrimp.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
So yeah, but when you
think of Epcot, I think I knew
of this restaurant and I did notknow anything about Epcot
before we started going, but Idid know of this restaurant.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
Right yeah.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
So take that for what
it's worth.
All right.
What is next on our list?
Speaker 1 (07:35):
Next is one of your
faves Garden Grill I will say
this is my favorite characterdining spot.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
My favorite character
dining spot is because it is in
the land pavilion right androtates around the most
underrated attraction in all ofwalt disney world, in my opinion
.
Living with the land.
What can what?
What can go wrong with thisright?
Right you're in the landpavilion.
You're eating and living withthe land.
I've got a big buffer betweenme and Mickey.
I love seeing the characters.
(08:08):
I don't want to meet with them.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
Right.
Speaker 2 (08:10):
This is a character
dining place.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
And how the seating
is.
You can be further back.
Speaker 2 (08:14):
Yes, I got a good
buffer, so I enjoy seeing other
people interact with thecharacters.
I just don't want to.
Speaker 1 (08:20):
Right Now they do
have breakfast, lunch and dinner
.
We've only eaten here atbreakfast.
Speaker 2 (08:25):
I highly recommend it
.
Speaker 1 (08:27):
And it's like an
all-you-can-eat.
So it's not buffet, it's like a.
They call it harvest feast andso they bring it to your table,
but if you want more ofsomething, you can get it.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
It's a platter, yes,
and it's $49 per adult and $33
per kid, so it's a little bit onthe cheaper option.
As far as breakfast, all youcan eat go Right and it's just
basic breakfast pastries, freshfruit, Mickey shaped waffles,
backyard grilled steak, which isreally good Bacon, scrambled
eggs and skillet potatoes Again,it's really really good.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
Right, and then you
also get seasonal fruit Like if
you want plant based, you canget seasonal fruit impossible.
Breakfast sausage, skilletpotatoes, plant based Mickey
waffles and scrambled eggs.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
So, and they do have
like an allergy friendly menu
and allbread, salad, carrots andcelery, grilled steak,
rotisserie roasted turkey mashedpotatoes, green beans,
vegetables, macaroni and cheese, farmer's pie, farmer mickey
(09:35):
cupcake peel and eat shrimp, sothey have a good selection of
food here and again.
You're in the land pavilion, you get to see in the farmhouse
scene and if you look in thefarmhouse, there is a full
bedroom set up so you can see inthere, right?
Yes?
Speaker 1 (09:54):
And the characters
here.
You know they're going to bedressed up on their farming
outfits.
You know overalls and all that.
So it's really cute theming togo along with it as well.
Speaker 2 (10:04):
Yeah, I love it.
I don't like character dining.
This one I would go to everysingle time.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
And they didn't do
like a dance or anything.
Speaker 2 (10:11):
No, it's not overly
loud or obnoxious or anything
like that, right?
So I highly recommend GardenGrill.
All right, what's next on ourlist?
Speaker 1 (10:21):
Le Cillier Steakhouse
.
Speaker 2 (10:22):
All right.
Speaker 1 (10:26):
So we have not eaten
here?
We have not.
Speaker 2 (10:27):
This is in the Canada
Pavilion yes.
And the next restaurant thatI've heard most about after
Coral Reef is Le Cillier.
Yes, I've heard about LeCillier more than any other
restaurant in Epcot, and it'ssteaks.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
It's a steakhouse.
Speaker 2 (10:42):
I know ryan and I
want to go okay, I mean, I'm not
saying, I don't want to goright um, but again it's disney
steaks are disney steaks yeahthey're not above the top, like
they're not super, super good.
And again there's just otherplaces we have.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
They have a bison
strip loin oh, all of a sudden,
you're changing your mind.
Okay, all right for 57.
Okay, you have my attentionthere, okay, yes, but you have
like new york, strip steak filetmignon.
You have pork, chop now bison, strip loin ribeye and then you
can enhance it as well, you know, add some shrimp and truffle
(11:19):
scallops and some other itemstruffle scallops are pretty good
.
Yeah, and you know you can alsoget chicken, heritage chicken,
canadian black cod, sweet potato, butternut, agnolotti, and you
know it comes with a lot ofdifferent sides, so it's like
it's going to be set up like asteakhouse.
You know your sides are goingto be a little more fancier, but
(11:42):
you also, you know, can getroasted garlic, mashed potatoes,
brussels sprouts, macaroni andcheese, glazed filled carrots,
braised mushrooms and hand-cutpalm frits so this is supposed
to be in the.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
You're like the
setting of.
It's like a wine cellar is thesetting, so it's like a very
romantic.
Maybe we should go in thismonth.
Speaker 1 (12:07):
I don't know, we'll
see.
Speaker 2 (12:09):
You want to go here
or Shikisai.
Speaker 1 (12:10):
No, I don't know.
We'll talk about that later.
I'm on the Japanese?
Speaker 2 (12:14):
I don't know, anyway,
yeah.
So again, I've heard about it alot, I knew about it and it is
a place we do want to go.
And.
I think it is another option ifyou're trying to get that full
Epcot experience.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
Right, and for kids
they have grilled chicken fish,
grilled cheese sandwich, grilledsteak and macaroni and cheese.
So you know, for the kids, orpick your eaters that are
younger, they have those items.
Speaker 2 (12:38):
Yep, all right.
Speaker 1 (12:40):
Where to next.
Next is San Angel InnRestaurant.
Speaker 2 (12:44):
So we have eaten here
recently, back over the summer,
and it is the sit-downrestaurant inside the Mexican
pavilion.
Yes, so you see it as you'regoing by on Three Caballeros and
when you're just browsingaround the sombrero shops and
everything there inside thepavilion, and we did a full
review on it if you want to goback and check that out.
But this is going to have yourbasic Mexican fare for a
(13:06):
sit-down Tacos, steak, enchiladas, that kind of stuff.
It was good.
Speaker 1 (13:12):
It was good Like I
would go back.
Yeah, I would definitely goback.
Speaker 2 (13:15):
All right, moving on.
That's going to be it forsit-down restaurants, so next is
going to be Connect oh, sorry, connections eatery all right and
this is going to be thesit-down restaurant across from
club cool, where electricumbrella used to be, and this is
a nice, open air, brightrestaurant with great music.
(13:40):
I love the music in here andit's a little.
It's quick but it's elevatedquick service, because you kind
of expect a little bit betterquality in Epcot, right.
Speaker 1 (13:50):
Right.
Speaker 2 (13:51):
So this has the
French Bistro Burger which I
have had.
It is gourmet beef blend, caramelized onions, bacon, brie,
mushrooms, Dijon mayonnaise,toasted brioche bun.
I thought it was delicious for$14.99.
They also have pizza.
You get two slices.
They have margarita pizza orpepperoni pizza or just cheese
pizza for $11.79 and $11.29.
Pretty good for Disney pizza.
Speaker 1 (14:13):
Yeah, and two slices.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
Pretty good, pretty
good.
So this is a good wide, openarea if you need to get a big
table for a large family.
This is going to be a quick I'msorry, mobile order will save
you a ton of time.
There's plenty of tables inhere and I just love the theme.
Speaker 1 (14:33):
It's not really
themed to anything very well,
but the music in here is reallygood, and he went on a trip by
himself, so one day I'd like togo.
They are also known for theirLiege waffle.
Speaker 2 (14:44):
That is.
I think you can get that here, you can.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
I'm staring at you,
you can.
Okay, I'm on the menu the Liegewaffle.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
So sometimes they
have, depending on the festival,
they have a figment one rightnow, oh, okay.
Speaker 1 (15:04):
Well, the regular one
on their menu is a brioche
dough with pearl sugar, strawberries, whipped cream and
chocolate sauce for $5.79.
Speaker 2 (15:07):
All right, then All
right.
Where are we heading to next?
Speaker 1 (15:11):
La Hacienda de San
Angel.
Speaker 2 (15:14):
Back to the Mexican
pavilion.
We have not eaten here, but wehave heard great, great things
about this quick service place.
I've never heard anybody sayanything bad about it.
Right, and it's the one to theright that has seating inside as
you're walking into the mexicanpavilion and it's just flautas
to tapos.
(15:34):
Queso fundido and their housespecialties are pescada del dia,
asabuco, carne asada, tomahawksteak.
Speaker 1 (15:43):
That's 120 for a
quick service restaurant wow,
are you sure you have this right?
Yeah okay, because I'm lookingat these prices and I'm like,
whew okay.
Speaker 2 (15:53):
And for the entrees.
Yeah, so this is going to beanother option for you.
Speaker 1 (15:57):
All right, so next on
our list is Pizza Al Tuglio.
Speaker 2 (16:03):
The pizza window.
Speaker 1 (16:04):
Yes, that's why you
wanted me to go, because you
didn't know how to say it.
Speaker 2 (16:07):
No, I just wanted.
Yeah, there's a pizza window.
It's really good, and it'sright next to what's that name
of the pizza place there vianapoli, which is supposed to
have the best pizza in all ofwalt disney world the pizza
window.
It's not the same pizza as youget at the pizza window, but for
quick service walk up it isreally good yes, it is, I was.
Speaker 1 (16:30):
I was impressed by
they put a lot of cheese on it
and that's a good thing, but Iwas impressed by just how good
it was and for the price, thesize that you get, the amount of
food you're eating.
You know, the pepperoni pizzanine dollars, the pizza
margarita eight dollars andfifty cents.
Speaker 2 (16:51):
Yeah, yeah, I've had
the pepperoni.
You've had it.
It's really delicious.
Is it gonna be the best pizzayou get?
I don't know.
Hopefully it's open when you go.
It's not always open, but thisis another quick service option
that you may want to look atright.
Speaker 1 (17:04):
Yeah, we just more
recently tried it, because a lot
of times it is not open.
But maybe they'll change nowbecause I mean they were very,
very busy and a lot of times itis not open.
But maybe they'll change nowbecause I mean they were very,
very busy and a lot of peopleeating there when they were open
.
Speaker 2 (17:15):
Very long line, yes.
Speaker 1 (17:16):
Yeah, and the one
drink that's really good there
is the frozen wild blueberry.
It's non-alcoholic wildblueberry juice at price at $8,
but it was really good.
Speaker 2 (17:28):
Yeah, all right.
Moving on to the japan pavilion, one of my favorite quick
service restaurants in probablyall of walt disney world,
katsura crow.
It is at the top of the japanpavilion, very peaceful yes,
very relaxing, and it is agarden in the garden area.
it's very tranquil.
(17:50):
This is where you can get yoursushi.
They got sushi combos spicyroll, California vegetable roll,
grilled chicken salad, beefudon.
I love their shrimp tempura.
I love it, I love it, I love it.
They have shrimp and chickenteriyaki, chicken cutlet curry
and chicken and beef teriyaki.
Everything's $15.99 and under.
Speaker 1 (18:09):
Now the sushi.
They range from $10 to $14.
Speaker 2 (18:13):
And they do not have
mobile order here.
Speaker 1 (18:16):
They do not have what
.
Speaker 2 (18:17):
They do not have
mobile order.
Oh yeah, so you can't mobileorder here, so you do have to go
up there and order like younormally do.
But highly recommend it.
You get a great view of theWorld Showcase Lagoon.
Just a great, peaceful, relaxing place, something you
may want to go check out.
Yes, I'm gonna let you move onwith the next one too because
(18:37):
you can't say this one all right, this is going to be the french
uh, the in france pavilion the,the france quick service bakery
service bakery.
Speaker 1 (18:50):
Le Halle's
Boulangerie Patisserie.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
The patisserie.
Yes, good job, and there's nomobile order here.
You just have to wait in thatline and this is where you're
going to get your traditionalFrench pastries and sandwiches
and brioche buns and yourbaguettes and your croissants.
Our oldest Ryan lovescroissants.
He has to go here and get oneevery single time.
(19:14):
But they have cheese plates, bacon and cheese rolls.
They have the quiches here.
Like, everything here isdelicious.
Speaker 1 (19:22):
Yeah, I want to
experience it a little bit more
one day and try a few more items.
And then we also have gottenthe macarons.
Speaker 2 (19:29):
This is where you get
your macarons, and you get wine
and whatnot here as well.
But you get all your classicFrench desserts, your clairs the
tarts, again your quiches, different filled croissants and
beignets and I don't know ifthey're I never heard anything
good about the beignets here.
Speaker 1 (19:50):
I haven't really
heard anything about the
beignets but a lot of the otherpastries and stuff.
Everybody says it's delicious.
Speaker 2 (19:57):
Yeah, so if you want
any kind of French pastry or
sandwich, this is the place togo to.
Speaker 1 (20:01):
Yeah, I want to try
their quiche, lorraine, one day
Okay.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
All right.
Next, for a quick service,we're going to the England
Pavilion and we're going to theengland pavilion and we're going
to go to yorkshire county fishshop.
I think this is a staple here.
Yes and they have one thing andone thing only, and they do it
extremely well beer, batteredfish and chips.
Yes, that's it, and it is sogood.
It's 13 49.
It is a huge piece of cod bigfish huge like we've.
Speaker 1 (20:28):
You can share it
before.
Speaker 2 (20:29):
Yes I've eaten it by
myself before too.
It did not go well.
Speaker 1 (20:33):
Just did not feel
great after, just not feel good.
Speaker 2 (20:35):
So you get yourself a
beer, batter, fish and chips,
get you a harp I love a harpevery now and then and you sit
there right in the lagoon andjust chill.
Speaker 1 (20:44):
Yeah, so this is
right there on the lagoon.
There is some outdoor seatingjust a little walkway from it,
uh, but yeah it, I was veryimpressed.
It was really good it's really.
Speaker 2 (20:53):
You can mobile order
here.
I highly recommend you do thatbecause the line can get really
really long, yeah, so, uh, thebear batter fish and chips is
13.49 and the harp is 12.25, butagain, you're getting a lot of
food for that 13.
It will fill you up even whenyou have another person.
Yes, all right.
Moving on to I added club coolto snacks.
(21:15):
This is a fun place it is trythe beverly.
Do that.
You have to do the beverlychallenge, but it's just.
It's one of thosequintessential things that you
have to do, right?
You?
Speaker 1 (21:26):
have to and be ready
to film your family doing it in
their facial expression.
It's fun, it's so beverly.
Speaker 2 (21:31):
There's only one of
three places you can get beverly
.
I don't family doing it intheir facial expression.
It's fun, it's so beverly.
There's only one of threeplaces you can get beverly.
I don't even make it in italy.
It was supposed it was a mixerin italy and it was a palate
cleanser, so they just didn'tdrink it out of bottles like
coke, but they didn't drink itout of a bottle like a Coke.
It was made to mix other thingsand then to cleanse palates
(21:53):
between servings.
Speaker 1 (21:53):
Yeah, I've tried it
twice now.
I can now say, I will not tryit again.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
Well, the only three
places you can find it now are
here in Walt Disney World, because you can get it at the
Coke store in Disney Springs.
You can get it at the Cokeheadquarters in Atlanta and
there's one more Coke store, Ithink it's in Vegas.
Those are the only three placesin the world you can get
Beverly now.
Speaker 1 (22:21):
Now there are a lot
of other interesting flavors and
drinks here to try in theFountain Machine.
Speaker 2 (22:26):
There is a drink here
that tastes like the Rome
burning scene in Spaceship Earth.
Speaker 1 (22:32):
The descriptions you
give.
That's what that tastes like.
The room burning scene inSpaceship Earth.
Speaker 2 (22:34):
The descriptions you
give, that's what it?
Tastes like Do you rememberwhich one?
Yeah, it's the one from China.
It's like a barbecue.
It tastes like a barbecue kindof thing I don't remember.
Speaker 1 (22:41):
I know I like
Madagascar, and then there's
another one.
I can't think of the name.
Speaker 2 (22:47):
I like the one from
Russia.
It's like a cucumber, yeah.
Speaker 1 (22:50):
Like a cucumber spray
.
That's okay.
Speaker 2 (22:52):
It's like a light one
, but no, you know how that Rome
burning smell seems right.
This is how that tastes.
Okay, the one from China.
It's like a barbecue-ish taste.
Speaker 1 (23:02):
I think I didn't
really care for that one.
Yeah, I didn't care for iteither.
Speaker 2 (23:04):
Yeah, do you want the
taste of?
Speaker 1 (23:06):
Rome burning in your
mouth.
Speaker 2 (23:08):
I don't.
No, no, yeah, all right.
Moving on to Norway, we'regoing to go to Kringle Bakery og
Café.
If I pronounced it wrong forour Norwegian listeners, I
apologize.
Speaker 1 (23:22):
Yes, and we have
eaten here.
We have eaten here on severaloccasions and it's really good
it is, and we've tried a fewdifferent items here and the
school bread.
It was better than I expectedit would be.
Speaker 2 (23:36):
I did not like the
school bread but I did try it.
So you're better at this than Iam.
Speaker 1 (23:41):
Well, no.
So the school bread is a sweetroll filled with custard and
dipped in coconut, so you needto be a coconut fan to have this
.
It's not like barely theretasting.
It is there, it is present, butit's a decent piece of bread,
like size-wise, and it's $4.99.
And then we also got what theNorwegian Kringle.
Speaker 2 (24:03):
The Norwegian Kringle
, and then we got the Lefse.
Speaker 1 (24:05):
Yeah, and so the
Norwegian Kringle is a
pretzel-shaped pastry withassorted toppings, almonds or
chocolate.
I believe we got chocolate.
Speaker 2 (24:13):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (24:13):
And it's priced at
$6.99.
I think everybody liked thatone a little bit more.
That one was okay to me.
Yeah, yeah.
And then the how'd you say it?
Speaker 2 (24:23):
Lefse, I don't know
Our Norwegian listeners.
I apologize.
Speaker 1 (24:26):
So it's priced at
$3.79.
It's a soft, flat bread rolledwith cinnamon, sugar and butter.
Speaker 2 (24:40):
And that was similar
to like a cinnamon roll a little
bit.
I like this because it's notsuper sweet, right, and the the
pastry, the flatbread, is like apotato based.
So I like this better becauseit does have a little bit of
that cinnamon taste to it.
So it's a little sweet but notoverpowering.
So I I did like this.
I think I ate the whole thingyeah and it's 379, so there are
quite a few snack options here.
Speaker 1 (24:56):
Yeah, there's more
that are Norwegian, and then
they also do like a Mickeycinnamon roll here as well.
Speaker 2 (25:02):
They have a very
unique beer here.
It's a Nordic draft beer andI'm not going to try to
pronounce it, but I like getting.
I'm not a big beer drinkeranymore like I used to be, but I
do enjoy getting beers that youcan't get anywhere else.
Speaker 1 (25:15):
Right, I need to get
a coffee here next time, the
Viking coffee oh.
Speaker 2 (25:18):
I see, oh, okay, I
need to try that next time it's
going to be a little hot when wego.
You don't care.
Speaker 1 (25:23):
In just a couple of
weeks.
Yeah, no, it's usually not toohot.
Speaker 2 (25:26):
Okay, hey.
Speaker 1 (25:27):
Hey, that's a maybe
All right then we'll make a stop
there.
Speaker 2 (25:32):
I'll get me a Nordic
draft beer and you get yourself
a Viking coffee.
We'll just mosey around WorldShowcase for a while.
Speaker 1 (25:39):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (25:40):
All right.
Next we're heading to theGermany Pavilion and we're going
to go to Caramel Kusch.
Speaker 1 (25:46):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (25:46):
Brittany, you've been
here more times than I have.
Speaker 1 (25:48):
I've only eaten here
once.
Speaker 2 (25:50):
We've gotten a few
things from here.
And there's not really like thecaramel bars and stuff.
Speaker 1 (25:58):
Yeah, and this is
what we get the caramel corn, oh
that's right, we did get thecaramel corn too.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, uh, yeah, thecaramel bar is delicious.
I mean, if you want to, if youlove the smell of caramel, love
the taste of caramel, this isthe place to go.
Caramel covers everything here, and they do caramel apples.
Uh, it was the caramel butterbar caramel butter bar it is
rich, but oh, so good I did noteven attempt to try it and then
(26:22):
they have a lot of other carameldesserts, uh, as well as, uh,
the, the caramel popcorn whichit it's slightly better than
other caramel popcorns I havehad because they make it right
there fresh.
Right yeah.
Speaker 2 (26:36):
So you see people
walking around with the bags of
the popcorn all the time.
Speaker 1 (26:39):
Yeah, it is so good.
But I mean you open that dooror walk by it and it's just, oh,
it smells so delicious.
Speaker 2 (26:45):
I just smell sugar.
That's all I smell, and I'mlike I can't even go in that
place, right?
Speaker 1 (26:57):
But it is, it is good
.
And you know, the caramelapples, just depending on which
flavor you get, can be $5.99 to$9.99.
The popcorn, depending on howmuch you get, can be $3.99 or
$5.99, and then other things arejust different prices depending
on what you get.
Speaker 2 (27:06):
So yeah, yep, all
right, we're moving on, and this
may be my favorite snack.
Oh, we skipped one weirdflavored chips in china.
That is our boy.
Speaker 1 (27:18):
One of our boys
favorite thing to do yes, so in
the china pavilion there's,there's a area like outside of
the bigger restaurant that sellsthem now too, like a little
kiosk place.
But if you go in I can't thinkof the name of the big the gift
store there, but the big giftshop, the very, very big gift
shop, um, but they have a lot ofdifferent lays, potato chips,
(27:41):
like unique flavors, very uniqueflavors, and yeah, the boys
just really like trying themyeah, they, they always they're
curious to to try the mostadventurous ones.
I don't, yeah, you know andI've tried them along with them,
and you know some of them I'mlike, yeah, we'll never get that
again.
But then there's been a fewthat's like, hey, that wasn't
(28:01):
bad, that was pretty good andusually my day trips.
Speaker 2 (28:04):
When I do go to epcot
, ryan's like, bring me back a
bag of chips.
Speaker 1 (28:07):
I'm like okay, right,
yeah, that's the souvenir.
Speaker 2 (28:09):
Yeah, all right,
moving on to what I like to go
the ice cream shop, the artisande glasses, the ice cream shop.
Speaker 1 (28:15):
Les Artisans des
Glaces, the ice cream shop in
the.
Speaker 2 (28:19):
France, pavilion.
This may be my favorite snack, but the line is always so long
and it moves excruciatingly slow.
Speaker 1 (28:28):
I have yet to try it,
but I want to.
Speaker 2 (28:30):
But I'm a sorbet guy,
I love sorbet, and here's where
you're going to get your icecream Single scoop $7.95.
Doubles $9.95.
And flavored waffle cones areadditional $2.
They have macarons with icecream.
I'm getting this next time.
I hope I have room in my bellywhen we go this month.
(28:50):
The croque glace Okay, it's onescoop of your choice of sauce
and a homemade brioche pressedwarm for 10.95.
Speaker 1 (29:01):
So it's whatever ice
cream choice that you want and
choices sauce yeah I'm justgonna get my classic sorbet with
no sauce and just you're gonnado sorbet inside the brioche you
got a problem with that, you,you can have your Viking coffee.
Speaker 2 (29:18):
No one's judging here
.
I'm going to have my strawberryor raspberry.
Ooh, I got raspberry, I'm justI don't know like.
Speaker 1 (29:26):
I love me some
raspberries, I feel like sorbet
is like more of a by itselfthing, but okay.
Speaker 2 (29:32):
I'm going to try, I'm
going to try, I'm going to try.
You don't have to have any, trust me.
Speaker 1 (29:36):
I'm just messing with
you, but they have mango sorbet
, raspberry sorbet, strawberrysorbet and pina colada sorbet.
Speaker 2 (29:41):
To this point if I'm
enjoying it and you're like, hey
, let me try a bite.
I'm like, no, you made fun ofit on the podcast.
You don't get any of it, I loveyou too.
Speaker 1 (29:52):
But yes, and then
their flavors of ice cream, just
to give you an idea.
So vanilla, praline, chocolate, caramelized pecan, cinnamon,
caramel, apple, coconut, whitechocolate, coffee, caramel,
fleur de sel, ice cream.
Speaker 2 (30:06):
To our French
listeners.
I apologize.
Speaker 1 (30:09):
Yogurt and blueberry
mint chocolate.
Speaker 2 (30:12):
Yeah, so there's
always a long line here.
It's hard to catch it without aline Right and this line just
moves so slow.
The line for the bakery movespretty quickly If there's a long
line, don't be intimidated bythat.
If there's a long line for LaHasca, you're going to be there
a bit.
Speaker 1 (30:30):
Right, yes.
Speaker 2 (30:32):
So just keep that in
mind.
And last but not least and wejust figured this out on our
last trip the popcorn in Canadait's not just any old popcorn
the maple popcorn for $7.
Right, I didn't think I'd likeit, it was good.
Speaker 1 (30:48):
It was good, but for
me I wouldn't get it again.
You would get the caramelpopcorn.
Speaker 2 (30:52):
Oh yeah, see, I would
get the maple popcorn over the
caramel popcorn, because themaple popcorn is not nearly as
sweet.
Speaker 1 (30:58):
I mean, and I get it
Again, it wasn't bad.
It just wasn't my favorite.
I liked it.
Speaker 2 (31:03):
I liked it a lot.
And they also have someassorted alcoholic beverages
here.
They have a Moosehead draft, aLe Fendu Monde draft and an
Ottawa apple.
That sounded kind of intriguingto you for 1650, the crown
royal maple apple infusion thatwould be too sweet for me,
though.
Speaker 1 (31:22):
Yeah, I, I don't know
you don't know.
Yeah, okay, all right so it's,I don't know, like for me real
quick, like with me when I'mlike.
I don't know it's because itdepends on when we're there.
For me, in certain alcoholicbeverages, when it is super,
super hot out, I don't reallydrink a lot of alcohol Because
I'm just like it's too hot, butthe Viking coffee had Baileys in
(31:47):
it, which intrigues me a lot.
So, if we're going and it'ssomewhat pleasant since it'll be
in the month of February, thatcould be.
This could be the only time ofyear I would get you would get
it.
Okay, that's fair enough, or ifwe went again at like Christmas
time or something okay, yeah,so let us know what you think,
uh, of those.
Speaker 2 (32:06):
Um, if you would add
or take a new way, I think
that's a pretty good list.
Again, we're not doing Disneytrivia anymore I missed it but
we are doing Would you Rathers.
And I was going to do two Wouldyou Rathers but we changed the
recording time so we only gotone and it was a.
Would you Rather Garden Grillor Space 220.
(32:26):
Brittany, would you Rather?
Speaker 1 (32:28):
Garden Grill.
Speaker 2 (32:29):
Garden Grill.
Garden Grill won handedly.
Speaker 1 (32:35):
Like by a count of
two to one okay, yeah, everybody
, no one's loving on space.
Speaker 2 (32:39):
There was like one or
two.
Everybody else was like I'm out.
Everybody was going to go togarden grow.
Speaker 1 (32:46):
So well, I just
you're my people well, I think
like the pricing for what youget and all of that you know in
the atmosphere of it too, andyou're getting to meet
characters.
Speaker 2 (32:56):
Yeah, yeah all right,
so anything else you'd like to
add?
Speaker 1 (32:59):
no, no, I think
that's all.
Yeah, sorry, we changed the dayof our recording, so that's why
he didn't get to get another.
Would you rather out there?
Uh, but just some some extrathings coming up this week, so
moved the date of this recordingup by a day.
Yeah, it's okay, yeah all.
