Freddy lagrhand You remember this song from two thousand and
two Detroit. He is in the country doing a few
shows and coming up music from my love Selena Gomeres,
(00:41):
Kaso Ray and Deep Lock Europe and more and right
now coming in at number twenty. This came out from
Miley Cyrus and for our Williams is called Doctor Work
It Out. And you remember in two thousand and six
when this song was released Detroit the hands up for
Detroit we joined by Faddie La Grand. He is in
(01:02):
Australia right now. He's doing a few shows. You excited
to be back.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
Yeah, there's been so long since I've been here, so
I'm super curious.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
I mean, of course you can check out their socials
a little bit to see what's going on.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
It looks great. I'm ready for it.
Speaker 3 (01:15):
You're gonna play pick your hands up for Detroit.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
Oh no, yeah, of course.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
You know.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
Over the years, I've collected so many different versions. I
just I just don't know if I should play the
original or some full remix or whatever.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
We'll see what happens.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
Yeah, I bet that's so cool though, being able to
when you do these shows, obviously you'd play that spend
a lot. It's cool how you can do remixes with
and stuff like that and change it up for the crowd.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
You want to have some enough familiar things in there
in general of your own or otherwise.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
But it's a great way. And I mean there's so
many peool making music, so I have more remixes than ever.
I can probably play two hours of just atisfaction in remixes.
So yeah, that's true.
Speaker 3 (01:53):
And what was it like for you working on that song?
Back in two thousand.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
And six, there was a lot of like disco house
that was really really popular, but I had no idea
where they got those samples from. So I just thought, Okay,
maybe I can like replay that kind of stuff. So
I went off one of my favorite funk records and
sort of got inspired by that and tried to do
a similar thing.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
But then you know. I mean I didn't produce for
that long, to be honest.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
So and I didn't have samples or not the right sample,
so I just played everything with like little synthesizers and things.
Speaker 1 (02:24):
I guess it still came out funky.
Speaker 3 (02:25):
That is so cool, and it still like gets play
today as well. And I've got to wrap it around
the questions for you, what is your favorite place to visit?
Speaker 2 (02:34):
I gotta say my home then, obviously, because I don't
get get to see it that much.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
But other than that, I mean, the world is so big.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
You have so many parts of Brazil that I think
are absolutely beautiful. There's the Malfi Coast in Italy is
absolutely amazing. I love Barcelona and Valencia in Spain. I
mean there's there's so many And who.
Speaker 3 (02:52):
Is some artists that you're loving at the moment.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
I really like what Tony Romira was doing. He's a
producer from Front. I think there's some guys that are
just still on top of their game. I think Mark
Knight is just doing doing amazing. I love the stuff
that christmus Lake does because we used to play a
lot together actually, and then at a certain point he
was not feeling it anymore, and I didn't hear from
(03:15):
him for a while and then he came back with
all this like new house off and I'm just I
was just great to see that he's really succeeding.
Speaker 3 (03:22):
In And who's someone that you'd love to collaborate with?
Speaker 2 (03:25):
There was someone that I wanted to collaborate for years already,
which is a Bob Sinclair. But we're actually now doing
something together. So you know, if you if you keep
at it long enough, it might might just have him.
But I think if it's more like the in the
world of singers and stuff, I would love to do
something with like.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
Bruno Marsh or something that would be absolutely absolutely a.
Speaker 3 (03:44):
Maybe, Yeah, that would be so incredible.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
If you have his number, let me let me know.
Speaker 3 (03:49):
And what is one of your favorite music festivals? On
told the Untold Festival looks amazing, Like I saw it
was in Dubai as well, and it's been a few places,
isn't it looks incredible?
Speaker 1 (03:59):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (04:00):
Yeah, And they have like a really nice mixture of music,
which is which is my preference. I guess when I
when I when I have some time off and just
seeing you know, from bands from reggae music to Drum
and Bees, to Tech House to almost everything, which I
think is It's great.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
Still to come music from Tyler, Swedish House, Mafia and
Ella Henderson. And did you see this week that Fred
again did a show at the Sydney Opera House. He
released tickets on the day they sold out and there
were so many people trying to get tickets and I
