Australian Idol winner Royceton know he's also doing some shows

(00:29):
at the Opera House with Guy Sebastian which is massive
and music from Ingrad Bloody Firm, Many Bumbo, Jesse murphir
Ray and he's more incredible artists. So right now we're
getting into the countdown at number twenty with an artist
to watch. I love her music so much. Her name's
Jesse Kats never Enough. Coming in at number seventeen is

(00:52):
American artist Jesse Murph featuring Jelly roll Ward Ones on
Club Lie Countdown. We're the Gem. She's actually in the
country right now for Spilt Milk as well. She is
so talented and Australian idle win up Roystono dropped his
brand new single Dreaming. It is so incredible and I'm
super excited to welcome back on the show. Hey Royston,

(01:15):
welcome back, see you again. I had to see you again.
Congratulations on your brand new single Dreaming. I'm like, it's.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
Amazing and so much. It's so exciting.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
Like yeah, it's been like a whole journey with like
you know, writing the song and then coming up with
the concept of the music video and stuff, and really
wanted to take it back to that pivotal moment in
my life when I did leave, when I did have
those thoughts of did I want to leave?

Speaker 2 (01:40):
It's gonna be a bit scary.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
It's daunting, you know, which I'm sure a lot of
people can relate to leaving home to purceee their dreams.
It doesn't matter where you come from, and I come
from a remote indigitus men, but it's still a big
tough decision, even if you're just moving cities or like
something like that, you know.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
So, yeah, it's exciting.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
I'm so glad I got to write it because, like
I feel like it's such a big step as well
for like kids in remote indigenous communities because of the
lack of opportunity and and you know, living in such
a remote place. Some of the kids have doubts and
being you know, like thoughts like oh I can't do that,
I can't go to the city and go to university,
or I can't do this and that, you know. So

(02:21):
I really wanted to be able to, you know, highlight
my transition, that transition in my life to be able
to you know, inspire other kids.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
The music video was so cute. I love it how
you're back in your hometown. You've got like your family
and friends in the video.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
I'm really like I got to, you know, bring some
of my Certainty team and my management up there, which
was really cool as well. And you know, I think
the scene with the kids was really special for me.
And going back into the community and seeing how much
I've impacted them and how to inspire the young kids
and young people. I like it's it warms my heart
so much, and it reminds me to like, you know,

(02:57):
keep pushing on. Reminds me that, like, I'm doing this
for my dreams and my career, but I'm also helping
other people and their dreams and inspiring them.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
You were over in La living your best life. I
love seeing the videos. What was it like for you
working on music there?

Speaker 3 (03:12):
It's so exciting, and I got to work with so
many amazing people, you know, songwriters and producers, and I'm
currently working on my EP, which should be out like
early next.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
Year, The Stay Cheged.

Speaker 3 (03:25):
Yeah, and while I was in LA, I was writing
some little dance songs just feeling good and you know,
some really fast off but also some really heartfelt and
like personal music as well.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
So I'm really excited to give that to everybody.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
Be so exciting. I saw it as well. You went
to Dolga Cats concept.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
Yes, Oh my god, she's a queen, she's an icon.
She's a legend, such a good performer. Yeah, no, I'm
really glad we got to do that. She's so inspiring.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
Yeah, really is. And what was your favorite part about
being in LA because it's such a different place in Australia.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
And a Disneyland.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
Oh yeah, did you post a video on your Instagram
if you're on the roller coaster do that with your phone?

Speaker 3 (04:09):
I would have dropped my phone, I girl, I was
gripping that phone real time too, I.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
Was, Yeah, it was. It was so fun.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
It's cool as well because you're doing live shows. You're
going to be opening for Guy Sebastian correct, congratulations.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Like that was just so crazy.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
I remember my manager telling me the years and I
was just like ballistic, like I just couldn't believe it,
like the first out of Winner, like and not even
just the first out of Winner, but like it's just
this amazing, talented, successful artist, like you know, giving me
this opportunity, like it means so much to me. Like
it's on the tenth and eleven of the Stampa, So I

(04:48):
get your tickets.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
Are you ready for a wrapid round of questions? Okay,
what is a song that's stuck in your head right now?

Speaker 2 (04:57):
I love it. It's such a vibe right now.

Speaker 3 (04:59):
She just really she actually release it on the same
day as me, So go check it out.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
I love that song as well, and show you're binge
watching right now.

Speaker 3 (05:07):
I just finished season two of Loki on Disney Plus,
which is really good.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
I love like sci fi fantasy, Like that's just my vibe.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
And once you go to coffee, order.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
Ice caramel latte.

Speaker 3 (05:21):
Yeah, Like sometimes I'll have a hot beverage, but majority
of the time it has to be iced, like its cold.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
Even during the winter. It's like, yeah, ice coffee all
the way. Yeah, that's it your dream collaboration.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
And I'm gonna say Beyonce's crazy. I mean not only
because she's like the Queen of the Well, but like
she's so inspiring and like her work ethic and her voice.
Like I've listened to her like from the two thousands,
loved her from Destiny.

Speaker 1 (05:51):
Child and who was an artist that in spying.

Speaker 3 (05:54):
Some artists that inspire me, definitely Beyonce, her work ethic.
Jessica was a big inspiration for me growing up. Boujia
He's so inspiring with what he's doing and I feel
like he's had such a successful career. Baker Boy is amazing,
like like you know, didn't you take her like five
arias last year? Like that is so inspiring to me,

(06:16):
especially because he comes from a remote indigenous community.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
And do you prefer summer or winter?

Speaker 2 (06:22):
I prefer winter definitely.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
And your most used emoji.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
It's I'm the one that goes like you're the one
that's like the blushing that one or like just like
the laughing one but on the side one of those two.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
What's something you'd like to achieve this time next year?

Speaker 2 (06:45):
I would love to be nominated. I mean, I'm Dreaming Big.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
I would love to be nominated for like Best New
Artists for Arias like that would be amazing.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
And yeah it's gonna happen next year. But thank you
so much for chats, so lovely chatting with you again
and congratulations with everything.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
Thank you so much, Jamma.

Speaker 1 (07:07):
And make sure you go and check out the video
for Royston's new single Dreaming. It is so so cute.
So many artists are in the country right now touring
and last week Phoebe Rexa was here for her first
ever Australian tour in Brisbane City in Melbourne, Did you
had a Lot? How incredible was she? She also did

(07:27):
a showy up on stage. It was the most classiest wayever.
She did it out of her sparkly high heel. Maybe
you saw the video online. You definitely had the best
night of your lives. That had gone it as well.
Went to all three of them and I was shook.
The Billboard Musicals will also this week and she did
perform a performance of I'm Good Blue but a different way.

(07:58):
It was the most beautiful perform she sang that song
and then she did One in a Million, her latest
single with David Gett I'll go and check it out
if you haven't seen it. She also won Billboard Music
Award for Top Dance Electronic Song, which she deserves for
I'm Good Blue because that's been over fifty weeks and
number one. We've got to get on one in a million.

(08:18):
