Speaker 1 (00:01):
One of the major questions that comes up in the
workplace right now is how willAI affect coaching?
How will it affect leadership?
Let me just focus on coachingfor a second.
When we think about coaching,it's an investment in another
person to make a decision.
Often, coaching can bemisunderstood as it's my
responsibility to get thatperson to change or improve.

(00:22):
Responsibility to get thatperson to change or improve.
The coaching's responsibilityis really to get the person to
make the decision and takeaction on what they need to
improve and change or want toimprove and change.
Where does AI come into that?
Let's look at some fundamentalnumbers, and I cite them all the
time.
If 85% of people, according toTasha Yerkes' study,

(00:44):
significantly lackself-awareness, what happens?
Someone lacking self-awarenessis not going to go to their boss
and say boss, I got a terribleattitude and I am an undermining
teammate and, by the way, I'vetalked badly about you, I could
use an AI coach.
So at the foundation ofself-awareness is a person's

(01:05):
commitment.
A tool is not going to go findthat person and say you've got a
negative attitude.
At some point.
Ai becomes a partner in theprocess if the leader should so
choose.
Now, if somebody is engagingwith an AI tool and it's not
giving that individual what theywant.

(01:26):
What's ultimately going tohappen?
What's ultimately going tohappen is is that person is
going to have a blind spot.
They're not going to reallylook in the mirror and realize
things, but they're going to goto an AI tool and if they don't
get what they want, they'regoing to say, well, this is dumb
.
And so I think what's going tohappen is and this sounds really

(01:46):
oxymoronic AI is going to drivemore human-based coaching
conversations.
So, when you think about if youhave someone with a negative
attitude and you have an AI tooland we have our own AI tools
I'm not against AI, quitefrankly, I love AI you might get
an AI tool and say to youremployee every week, I want you
to ask three improvementquestions as it relates to what

(02:11):
you're working on.
So maybe it's attitude,teamwork, motivation.
I want you to ask threequestions such as what can I do
to be a better teammate?
What can I do to raise mymotivation?
What can I do to help mediscover my motivation and
passion?
Now the AI tool becomes yourpartner.

(02:31):
So we have to have a verystructured expectation if AI is
going to be our partner incoaching.
What are your thoughts?

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
