You’ve built a business that’s survived and succeeded. You’ve navigated growth, pivots, even burnout—and by now, you know there’s no perfect blueprint. But still, some decisions stop us in our tracks.

In this minisode, I reflect on a pivotal season where multiple good options offered no guaranteed path forward—and how a single decision rooted in self-trust changed everything. This is about more than mindset—it’s a conversation about the invisible edge that seasoned founders can tap into when logic and data fall short.

If you’ve been waiting for certainty before making your next move, this episode will offer you the reframe you didn’t know you needed. You’ll leave knowing that clarity doesn’t come before the choice. It comes because of it.

Whether you're pivoting, growing a new arm of your business, or simply craving more joy in the work—you’ll find your next step through this short listen.

Sheila (00:01):
Most people wait for certainty before they choose,
but I've found that claritycomes from movement, not
overthinking.
I'm sharing the story of a timeI had multiple good options and
no guarantees, and the moment Ifinally stopped outsourcing my
power and trusted myself tochoose, that one decision
changed everything.
Hi, welcome to the podcast.

(00:25):
I'm Sheila Botelho and I'mcommitted to helping you
reconnect to your purpose, elevate your wellbeing and build
your version of a happy, successful life.
You're listening to a mini-sodewhere I share an insight
designed to help you live intowhat lights you up this week.
I was reminded recently of atime when I had several really
good options in front of me andeach one could have led me

(00:47):
somewhere meaningful, but I hadno way of knowing how it would
turn out.
I mean, we've all been there,right?
I remember standing in thatspace of tension.
It wasn't really fear exactly, but pressure, the kind of
pressure that comes from wantingto get it right.
And the truth is there was noright.
There was just right for me inthat moment.

(01:08):
And guess what?
There were multiple rightoptions.
So I had to make a decision andI did, and it wasn't because I
was a hundred percent sure, butit was because I trusted that,
even if it didn't work out theway I'd hoped, I'd figure it out
, I could course correct, Icould pivot, I could ask for
help.
That is self-trust.

(01:30):
It's not blind confidence.
It's grounded belief in yourability to move forward, even
without a map.
We live in a world obsessedwith certainty, and I fall into
that trap myself, all or nothingthinking, though it's so
normalized, especially in highachieving spaces.

(01:52):
But that is not truth, that isconditioning.
Arianna Huffington wrote inThrive about a third way beyond
burnout and beyond hustle, andthat book really came to me
during a time where I was inanother pivot moment.
I've come to realize even morethan that third way.

(02:14):
There's actually so many ways, and most of them begin when you
trust yourself enough to choosethe one that feels the most true
for you.
One of my clients last year wasfacing a similar moment.
She'd been pivoting herbusiness over and over, trying
to fall back in love with itafter not feeling so much in

(02:34):
love with it and trying toreshape it into something that
fit.
But no matter what tweaks shemade, something felt just off,
until one day, away from herusual environment, she felt a
full body.
Yes, for something entirelydifferent, a brand new business
idea that felt wildly alignedand totally different from the

(02:58):
work she'd been known for forover 15 years.
And she trusted it Not at first.
We had a number ofconversations about it before
she finally trusted it.
She also surrounded herselfwith people who could hold that
vision.
With her, she took one step andthen another, and some doors
closed and others flew wide open, and earlier this year she

(03:22):
launched her first CPG productand a completely new brand.
And now she is lit up.
Oh, she's so lit up, she'sreconnected.
But you know, it all startedwith her leaning into her own
self-trust.
So this week I want to remindyou you do not have to know

(03:43):
every step to begin.
You don't have to have aperfect plan, but you do have to
trust that version of you rightnow that you're capable of
choosing their next best stepand you can trust them to figure
out the rest.
Thanks for listening.

(04:06):
and the Guided Meditation in theshow notes, it is the exact
process that I return to when Ineed to realign and create new
beautiful outcomes in my ownlife, leaning into that
self-trust first.
Have a beautiful rest of yourweek, big blessings.
