Sheila (00:02):
I thought I was doing
everything right Clean eating,
daily movement, inner work andstill I was exhausted.
Turns out something elseentirely was silently hijacking
my health beneath the surface, and once I stopped trying to
figure it out all alone, everything changed.
In this episode, I'm sharinghow a midlife health reset and
(00:24):
one founder's mindset shiftunlocked massive clarity and
healing.
Hi, welcome to the podcast.
I'm Sheila Botelho and I'mcommitted to helping you
reconnect to your purpose, elevate your well-being and
build your version of a happy, successful life.
And I invite you to take a deepbreath at the top of this
episode and exhale it out atyour own pace, because this
(00:48):
moment is yours.
We're in this juicy mid-seasonspace, the part of summer where
the air is hanging a littleheavier, the sun is starting to
not linger quite as long and thepressure to perform starts to
melt just a bit.
And perhaps you may even befinding yourself in this space
(01:12):
where you can give yourselfpermission to slow down.
That is what I've been doing, and it can feel challenging when
you're used to going reallyquickly in a lot of your spaces
in your life, but it's so worthit.
This season has invited me intosome deep, sacred pause time,
(01:32):
and truly it's one that didn'tcome from a calendar reminder or
a goal tracker.
It came from my body.
If you've been here for a while, you'll know I am a big
believer in the mind-bodyconnection.
It's been the center of my workfor decades.
But over the last severalmonths I've been following a
(01:56):
very focused detox protocolsomething I haven't spoken about
here until now because it'staken every ounce of my
attention and energy to actuallylive it and I've been reversing
a series of health symptomsstemming from mold yes, mold, so
wild and it's been a reallylong, six-year journey of trying
to get to the root ofunderlying issues that just
(02:17):
didn't make sense.
Based on my healthy lifestyle, Ihave lived as a wellness
advocate and integrative healthcoach, doing all the right
things for decades eating clean, moving daily, sleeping well.
I've actually been prettyrenowned for my ability to sleep
just about anywhere over theyears, and that has really
(02:37):
shifted in the recent years, andstill those symptoms persisted.
In fact, those were the thingsthat were interrupting my sleep,
those symptoms.
So I knew I had to go deeperand this is where my sacral
manifesting generator, designreally came to life.
If you know human design, youknow that part of my flow as a
(02:59):
manifesting generator is toinvestigate what lights me up,
apply it, embody it and thenshare it.
At least that's my one threeline.
If you understand human design, you'll get what I mean, and
I've done that so many timesover the years.
It's truly the path I alwaystake, even before I knew about
(03:21):
human design, frankly.
But this time I couldn't figureit out alone.
So I laid down my researcherhat and finally received support
from a deeply intuitive andexperienced functional medicine
naturopathic doctor.
And wow, it didn't take verylong.
Blood work at least really, really in-depth blood work can
(03:43):
tell you a lot of good stuff.
So I highly invite you to checkthat out if you're having any
health issues.
What is your blood saying?
On a deeper level like I'mtalking deeper than the perhaps
annual checkups that you get.
So together we went throughtesting deep history dives in
terms of my health andconnection of dots that no one
(04:05):
had ever strung together before, and it was clear.
Mold toxicity was the missingpiece and for the first time in
years, I felt a full body.
Yes, everything suddenly madesense.
So I want to say this to you Ifyou're in midlife actually
frankly, if you're at any age,if you're feeling exhausted,
(04:27):
foggy, inflamed, disconnectedand starting to believe.
Well, this is just how it isnow.
Please do not settle for thatstory.
You deserve to feel vibrant.
You deserve to feel fantasticvibrant.
(04:48):
You deserve to feel fantastic.
You just need to know whereyou're at and to get the right
mirror to help you see itclearly.
And that's what great coachesdo, and that's what I've always
done.
But sometimes the healer needshealing, and that's the season
that I've been in.
We truly all need each other.
We really really do.
We can't all see our own blindspots.
That's why having outside helpfrom someone who's deeply
aligned and now that I'm on theother side of the most intense
(05:13):
part of this detox season I mean, I'm still in it, but we're
getting, we're seeing the lightat the end of the tunnel I'm
noticing something reallypowerful.
The quieter I get, the clearer Ibecome about everything.
I'm savoring simple thingsagain sunset walks with my
husband, spontaneous laughterwith my boys, open windows, deep
(05:37):
breaths, slow mornings and richconversations.
I'm remembering what successactually feels like, not what it
looks like, and maybe you're inthis space too, where your body
, your business, yourrelationships they're all asking
for a softer rhythm.
This is something that doesn'tset you back in your life.
(06:02):
That doesn't set you back inyour life.
It's not a pause that causesyou to lose momentum.
This is truly a recalibrationthat will amplify your next
chapter, if you let it, becauseyou cannot create from depletion
and you can't expand fromburnout.
You need oxygen, and oxygenneeds spaciousness, you need
(06:26):
creativity, you need curiosity.
Your next level isn't louder,it might even be lighter.
For you, something really coolhappens when you slow down and
let yourself rest inspaciousness.
You start to notice things youmay have otherwise missed in
your own life and in the livesof others.
And during this quieter seasonI've received some of the
(06:47):
clearest downloads, not just formyself, but for the incredible
founders that I coach.
Many of them are navigatingseasons of beautiful expansion.
Revenue is growing, opportunities are coming in.
But here's what I findfascinating how, even in growth,
these founders want to staygrounded, because they've been
(07:10):
in the game long enough to knowthat with every expansion comes
a future contraction.
It's just the nature of lifeand business, and so they want
to plan from a place ofalignment, not fear.
They want to feel a sense ofintentionality and peace so that
they're not in a panic to keepup, and my advice is always the
(07:32):
same Return to your version ofsuccess, and the best way to do
that is to get quiet, toremember why you started and to
truly feel into what it is youwant to build, not what is
trending, not what the algorithmis saying you should do next,
because the truth is, you arethe leader and your business
(07:56):
will follow the energy that youlead with, and the success we
build is often a blend ofeverything we've seen work for
others, which means sometimes weinherit goals that were never
ours to begin with.
We unconsciously shrink thevalue of our work into a box
that was never designed for ourkind of brilliance, and in doing
(08:17):
so we forget the true worth ofthe transformation that we offer
.
Now that brings me to a storyabout one of the founders.
I've had the joy of workingwith someone whose mindset shift
changed everything.
She was a talented home stagerand she had years of experience
working with high-end realtors, but in those days she was always
(08:40):
on a salary, so when shedecided to go out on her own,
she thought she wanted to workwith boutique agencies small but
premium, high-touch firms thatvalued quality and detail.
But when she started herbusiness.
Her marketing accidentallypulled in a different crowd
because she was attractinghomeowners who were selling
their properties themselvesonline, often on budget-friendly
(09:03):
listing platforms, and peoplein this case were looking to
save money.
So they saw her as a cost tokeep low rather than an
investment to maximize theirsale price.
So, without realizing it, sheabsorbed that mindset and she
kept her rates low because shethought she was helping her
clients.
Then one day she had a massiverealization the value she
(09:28):
offered wasn't about savingpeople a few hundred dollars.
It was about helping them makethousands more on the sale of
their home.
Because, think about it, if youare like many of us who love
watching those home renovationshows and like looking at real
estate listings, even if you'renot looking to buy, a
(09:48):
well-staged home is reallyattractive and appealing, right?
So of course, they sell faster, they attract more competitive
offers and they increase inperceived value.
So that meant that her servicewasn't just nice to have, it was
actually a profit driver.
(10:09):
And when she understood that, everything shifted inside of her
.
She started to show updifferently in how she marketed
herself and she ended up raisingher rates accordingly,
realizing there were differentpeople she wanted to be working
with, and she startedapproaching these boutique
agencies that she'd originallybeen avoiding, and almost
(10:30):
instantly, she was working witha completely different clientele
people who valued what shebrought to the table and
understood that investing in herwas actually a way to make more
money.
She even began to grow her teamat that point, bringing on
other home stagers so she couldtake on more clients and not
burn herself out, which, ofcourse, I'm a huge fan of Hello.
(10:51):
That's why we were workingtogether.
It all started, though, withone mindset shift.
It all started, though, withone mindset shift, and that was
I'm not here to save peoplemoney.
I'm here to help them make more.
How's that for a mindset shift?
So I want to turn that questionback to you.
Where are you underestimatingthe transformation that you
(11:15):
provide, and where might you beholding yourself back from
serving the very people who needyou the most that you provide,
and where might you be holdingyourself back from serving the
very people who need you themost because you're afraid to
claim your true value, and bythis I mean the value of your
service?
Obviously, you, innately, arepriceless.
So remember that so important.
So I hope you will take a lookat that question actually spend
(11:38):
some time with it, because it'ssomething we can often breeze by
and we don't spend enough timereally focused on it.
And then we look down the roadand realize, had we addressed
that question, we may be in acompletely different place in
our business.
I'd love to hear how that landsfor you.
So feel free to reach out andlet me know.
(12:00):
You can DM me anywhere, anywhere on the socials.
You can also go into the shownotes, and there's a little text
me link there as well.
So I wanted to share with youalso that.
I may have alluded to thisalready, but I'm sharing it
anyway in case you haven't heardMonday Minisode.
But I am celebrating becausethere's a lot to celebrate.
I'm celebrating my healing, I'mcelebrating the brave decision
(12:25):
that I've made to rest and toreceive, and I'm celebrating
this podcast.
Now you may have noticed somesubtle and maybe not so subtle
changes around here.
There's going to be some newartwork coming and a new name,
but you may be noticing themessaging is a little different.
It's deeper and a more elevatedvision for where we're going
(12:51):
next.
This podcast has always beenabout connection, about truth,
about growing and having thebest intentions to grow from the
inside out.
But as I evolve, so does thisshow.
So whether you've been with mesince the early episodes almost
five years ago or you're newhere, I want to welcome you.
(13:14):
I am so glad that you're here.
Here is what you can expectmoving forward.
So, of course, mini-sodes havebecome a mainstay.
We will continue havingmini-sodes on Mondays to really
drop you into presence andpurpose, and we're going to
continue having Thursdayepisodes and they're going to be
(13:34):
these soul led solo chats orfounder stories and sometimes
interviews, so I'll be able toshare what's unfolding in real
time in my life and business, alongside of some other people's
stories.
Some of these interviews oh mygoodness, I'm just thinking
about them right now like reallybold, heart-centered founders
who are rewriting the rules ofbusiness and life.
(13:57):
So we're going deeper and I'mreally glad that you're here for
it.
Before we close, I want toinvite you to go back and listen
to episode 515, the FoundersPivot, if you haven't already
letting your body of work guidewhat's next.
It is a companion to thisepisode and speaks to that
moment when we realize the oldway just isn't cutting it
(14:18):
anymore and how to pivot withoutburning everything down.
And then also this week'sMinnesota, as I mentioned, 516
has a really simple but powerfulprompt to help you reconnect
with your own truth this season,so you'll find it just below
this episode in your feed.

(14:38):
my creative side, sketching outsome new things I'm putting
together for you, things thatfeel aligned, soulful and,
honestly, really fun, and at thesame time, I'll be remaining
deeply attuned to how my body iscontinuing to heal.
I'm giving myself grace to moveat the speed that works best for
me right now, and I invite youto do the same for whatever you
may be going through, becausethere's no rush, there's just
(15:00):
presence, and each day I canfeel this gentle rise in energy
and clarity, this quiet sensethat something beautiful is
unfolding, and perhaps Iwouldn't have noticed it had
this not happened to me.
So I really believe it ishappening for me and I have a
feeling I'll be more excited bythe day.
I hope this is the same for you, with whatever you're
(15:21):
