Something powerful has been rising within me lately. In this solo chat, I share the internal dialogue I’ve been having around business, innovation, and what it means to create real impact without burning out or selling out.

As someone who believes deeply in free enterprise and building abundance, I’ve also been questioning the cost of unchecked growth, and how we, founders and legacy builders, can do it differently. This episode unpacks the unspoken tension many of us feel in this moment of rapid change, and what it looks like to lead with clarity, conscience, and creativity.

If you’ve been feeling called to a deeper role in shaping what's next, this episode will meet you where you are, and remind you that your business can be the revolution you’ve been waiting for.

Sheila (00:01):
you've likely felt it too.
There's something shifting.
The speed of change in tech, business and culture is dizzying
, but there's one thing I knowfor sure the future will be
built by leaders who fuseambition with empathy and
profits with purpose.
In this solo chat, I'm sharingthe real reason.
I woke up before sunrise thisweek, completely clear on what I

(00:24):
can no longer delay.
If you've been feeling thetension between doing more and
actually creating legacy, thisone's for you.
Hi, welcome to the podcast.
I'm Sheila Botelho and I'mcommitted to help you reconnect
to your purpose, elevate yourwellbeing and build your version
of a happy, successful life.

(00:44):
This week, on my CEO soul walkthat I love to do before the sun
rises if I can, especiallylately because it's been so warm
outside I found myself havingsome really interesting thoughts
and I allowed myself to just godown the bunny trail, as you
say and it's kind of funny.
I say that because there wasactually a bunny that was

(01:06):
running ahead of me down thetrail as I walked, and I really
let my mind wander into someplaces in terms of where the
world is headed and how we'reall being impacted by various
changes happening and what ourrole is, and it was the most
fascinating walk and what ourrole is, and it was the most

(01:27):
fascinating walk.
I was able to document some ofthe things that I was thinking
about on that walk, because I dolove to be able to go back and
go a little deeper and journalon things.
So here I was.
The air was cool, finally, because it was so much earlier
in the morning and I felt like acoolness wash over me while I
was having this thought as I waswalking, and I feel like the

(01:51):
message that came through me wassomething that had been
building for a while, becausethere is something shifting, and
I feel like it's shifting inour collective space as we're
all moving through ourbusinesses, whether you're a
creator, whether you're someonewho is building some kind of
business or brand, and reallyjust in general as humans.

(02:14):
I felt a nudge, and that nudgestarted to feel like a push
later on in the day as I wasthinking further about what I
was discovering on my walk, andit was one that was like this
steady, unmistakable truth thatkept landing for me throughout
the day.

(02:35):
You see, I have built a businessthat I love and I deeply
believe in free enterprise and Ilove that we get to create
something from nothing.
There's so much beauty in thatand I love that we get to be
well-paid for our wisdom, thatwe can help people transform
their lives and their businessesand their relationships.
And I also see the other side, and lately it has been harder to

(02:59):
ignore.
I'm seeing some of the biggestplayers in the game corporations
more.
I'm seeing some of the biggestplayers in the game corporations
, different platforms andthought leaders who are
prioritizing speed and profitover people.
At least that's how it feels tome, and for a while now I've
held those observations reallyquietly and I'm just focused on
my lane.
But something personal happenedthis past week that snapped

(03:22):
that awareness into sharp focusand I won't share the details
out of love and protection forthe person that it happened to.
But I will say this when someoneyou care about is brushed aside
by a system that values profitmore than people, it changes you
and it makes you ask am I beingcomplicit by staying quiet?

(03:43):
Or am I being called to leaddifferently?
Because one might say, oh, inthe face of these large
corporations, like, really, whatcan you do?
Well, this is where I want tospeak directly to you, someone
who is potentially building abusiness for years, someone who
knows how to execute, who'salready hit milestones that

(04:06):
others are still dreaming about.
And you know how to scale, youknow how to grow, you know how
to lead.
And what we are grappling withright now is truly how to lead
in a different way, to lead evenmore consciously and
courageously.
And if you've ever had thethought, can I really hold what

(04:28):
I'm being asked to build?
You're not alone, becausethere's a lot of big stuff going
on.
So that question came up for merecently in a big way, because
the vision I'm holding now isbigger than I expected.
It's more nuanced and it's notjust about content or courses
anymore.
It's really about being acurator, kind of like a steward.

(04:51):
And it feels scary, I will say.
But here's what I want to offeryou today Fear multiplies in
isolation, but purpose expandsin connection.
So if you're trying to makesense of all the moving parts
business, tech, identity, legacyplease don't do it alone.

(05:17):
Over the years, I found myselfin so many different spaces
corporate boardrooms, communityhalls in my direct sales days,
buzzing hotel ballrooms filledwith personal development
junkies.
Some of the most pivotalmoments in my growth truly did
not happen on a stage.
They happened in between.

(05:39):
They happened over shared meals, over hikes before sessions, on
long walks, after powerfulkeynotes.
The ideas were good, but theconnection with others, that was
everything, and some of thoseconversations have stayed with
me for decades.
Others have sparked somethingin the last few years, but the

(06:01):
common thread were the peoplethat I met who had a vision, who
wanted our success to meansomething.
I like to think of myself as acollector of relationships, and
the people I hold closest in mybusiness world are those whose
work is infused with somethingmore, something altruistic.

(06:23):
They don't just want to earn, they want to serve in some way.
And when you know your workripples beyond your immediate
circle, that it touches peopleyou may never meet, there's
something really, really sacredabout that.
It's the kind of energy thatgets you out of bed in the
morning.
It's the kind of energy thatbuilds legacies.

(06:44):
In fact, I believe that themost important conversations
happening right now aren'thappening in boardrooms.
They're happening in curated, intentional communities, spaces
where people can question, explore and reimagine together
the future of business isn'tmore noise, it's more nuance.

(07:06):
That's what I want to helpbuild.
That's the space I want to bein, and if you've been feeling a
similar nudge.
Consider this your confirmation.
It's time to stop waiting forsomeone else to say what you
know needs to be said.
We're the ones.
We're the bridge between theold models and what's next.

(07:29):
You've probably noticed it tooright.
There are brands we've boughtfrom for years out of habit,
convenience, trust but in thisera of constant information,
we've become more attuned towhat's happening behind the
curtain.
Some of us have been surprised, and even disappointed, perhaps,

(07:50):
realizing that our dollarssupported systems that didn't
reflect our values.
It's truly sobering andconfusing, because how do we
know what's true anymore?
And you know everything's soconnected.
How do you really separate itout?
Then there are the brands thatwe love supporting, the ones
that lead with transparency,integrity, creativity.

(08:14):
Lead with transparency,integrity, creativity.
The ones whose values are bakedinto their operations, not just
their marketing copy.
It feels good to buy from them, and not just because their
product is good, but becausewe're proud to be associated
with how they show up in theworld.
The marketplace is moretransparent than ever, and now

(08:34):
we're in a time where technologyis moving so fast that it's
hard to keep up.
So where do we invest our time?
Where do we invest our energyand our money.
Who do we trust?
Like a lot of questions, right.
This is a lot to hold, andthat's why community matters
more than ever, because when wemove through these questions

(08:56):
together, we don't just survivethe change, we actually get to
be part of the system shaping it.
I'm thinking a lot about whatit means to build a business
that doesn't just make money butactually honors humanity,
because the truth is, humans arebeing left behind in the name

(09:17):
of progress, but they don't haveto be.
We don't have to choose betweenethics and earnings.
We can have both.
And if we do this right, wewon't just succeed, we'll
redefine success, and that's thevision that I'm leaning into
and it's why I'm shifting someof my own structures my podcast,

(09:39):
my offers, the way I show up.
Everything's evolving in thisseason.
What started as a desire toteach self-care for business has
become something much morelayered.
For me, expansion season, asI've been calling it, isn't just
a program name, it's an energy,a way of being.
It's the reminder that the mostpowerful leadership doesn't

(10:02):
always look loud.
Sometimes it looks like walkingat sunrise with a journal full
of half-formed thoughts and aheart full of knowing.
It looks like saying I don'thave all the answers, but I'm
willing to ask better questions.
It looks like choosing alignedaction over performative
productivity.

(10:23):
And, you know, it also lookslike believing that the future
will be built by people like us,who care deeply, who act boldly
and who lead together.
And here's what I know about theedge that you may be walking
that feeling of can I reallyhold this.
It's part of it, because everytime we grow, we stretch, and

(10:48):
every time we stretch, somethinginside of us questions whether
we're ready, whether we'reenough, whether we'll be okay.
On the other side, I have feltthat edge more times than I can
count in my life and I'm feelingit very deeply right now.
And I'm here to remind you ofthis.

(11:09):
If the idea landed on yourheart, it's because you are
meant to lead it.
You don't need to know the fullplan, you just need to take the
next step in integrity and thatmessage that I just shared with
you.
That's for me as much as it isfor you.
So here's what I'll leave youwith today.

(11:33):
If something's been tugging atyou lately, listen.
If you've been feeling calledto lead in a new way, trust it.
If the old way no longer fits, don't shrink to make it work.
There is room for yourevolution.
There's room for the nextiteration of your brilliance.

(11:55):
You don't have to burn out tobreak through.
You just need to begin with oneclear, connected step.
And if that step is joining mein conversation, I'd love that
you know where to find me.
Check it out in the show notes.
And until next time, I'msending you so much love and
courage.

(12:15):
Let's build what's nexttogether.
Thanks so much for listeningand I will see you on a brand
new episode in the new brand ofthe podcast.
Looking forward to it.
Big blessings, thank you.
