Sheila (00:01):
You know that feeling like you're procrastinating, but
deep down you know you're justmentally wiped.
That's not laziness, it'ssomething else entirely, and
I've been there too.
Today, I'm going to share abouta season of my business where I
had too many options, too muchinput and not enough clarity.
You'll learn why this hiddenpattern is costing you energy

(00:21):
and revenue and the one shiftthat helped me and hundreds of
founders finally feel clearagain.
If you want your time, creativity and income back,
listen in.
Hi welcome to the Connect withSheila Botelho podcast.
I'm committed to helping youreconnect to your purpose,
elevate your wellbeing and buildyour version of a happy,
successful life.

(00:42):
You're listening to a mini-sodewhere I share an insight
designed to help you live intowhat lights you up this week.
Today, I'm pulling back thecurtain on something that so
many smart, seasonedentrepreneurs deal with, yet
rarely are able to name.
It's not burnout, it's notprocrastination.
It's something more subtle, something that creeps in quietly

(01:04):
and can sideline your momentumfaster than a tech issue or a
bad launch ever could.
It is decision fatigue.
Now let me take you back to whenI first started building in the
online space.
At the time, my focus wasreally clear and I had just come
out of years and wellness andstartup culture and I knew
exactly how I could serve.

(01:25):
The value I brought was reallyobvious.
My role was clearly defined inmy mind and my clients showed up
with needs.
So I created containers thatmet those needs and I didn't
second guess or question where Ishould show up or how often and
the best part I should show upor how often and the best part.
It felt really really good tobe that clear.

(01:53):
But then social media changed.
The noise got louder and theera of the personal brand took
center stage.
I started hearing things likeyou need to be omnipresent.
Video is king.
Offer a course, no, offer aretreat.
Wait a micro product.
That's what you need.
So it wasn't just pressure, itwas possibility overload and for
a creative entrepreneur, thatkind of stimulation is really

(02:14):
really exciting.
Until it isn't so, I began tofeel like every direction could
work, but the weight of choosingthe right one every day really
started to wear me down and Ifound myself in what many people
know of and what I now know toname functional freeze.
Are you feeling me Like?

(02:34):
Have you ever been here, thatquiet state where you're still
working, still posting, stillpresent, but your energy is
really scattered, your messagegets diluted.
So you're showing up but you'renot really landing with your
people.
It felt eerily similar to mytime in the startup world in my
twenties, those seasons where Ihad such big dreams, some great

(02:57):
ideas and a hundred tabs open inmy brain.
But I was spinning.
And the irony, well, I was theone over here preaching clarity,
but behind the scenes I wasfeeling really fractured.
And this is what decisionfatigue can look like.
So here's what no one tells youSmart, high achieving women are

(03:18):
most vulnerable to it.
Can you guess why?
Think about it.
Well, we see all the optionswe're capable of pulling off 10
different strategies, and thatmakes it harder to say no.
I mean, that's true of usoutside of business right Now.
The research backs this up.
According to Harvard BusinessReview, decision fatigue can
cost you two to four hours perweek of creative, focused

(03:41):
thinking time.
That's about $15,000 to $20,000per year in lost value.
If you're in that six figureearning range simply from waking
up and figuring it out on thefly every day.
Let that sink in.
You're not just paying inenergy, you're paying in income,
and it's not your fault.
We've all been taught to workharder when things feel unclear.

(04:04):
But what if clarity doesn'tcome from having more energy?
What if it comes from havingfewer decisions to make?
That's what finally helped mefind peace again.
It wasn't a new strategy or aproductivity hack.
It was structure.
It was having boundaries andsystems and so much more

(04:24):
self-trust.
That's when I realized theearliest version of the embodied
success method was born, beforeit even had a name.
It really was a feeling.
It was a knowing that I couldstill grow.
But I didn't have to chase.
And this method has sincesupported hundreds of women
founders to reset their pace, come back to their message and

(04:46):
feel their power without beingin all the places all the time.
So today I want to leave youwith one golden nugget.
The next level of your growthwon't come from doing more.
It'll come from deciding less.
Let that be your lens this week.
Where can you reduce decisionload?
Maybe it's simplifying theoffers you have out right now.

(05:10):
Maybe it's cutting back onreactive content and choosing
one signature piece to repurpose.
Or maybe it's finally gettingsupport to hold you in the
structure that lets your geniuslead again.
Get some help.
If this resonated, download theEmbodied Success Method right
now it's in the show notes.

(05:30):
It's your starting point forrealigning how you lead, how you
grow and how you serve withoutburning out.
And then come back Thursdaybecause I'm going deeper into
the emotional cost of decisionfatigue, how it affects your
team, your brand voice and thestories you tell yourself about
what's truly necessary tosucceed.

(05:51):
Because when you understandthis dynamic, you truly stop
scrambling.
You start scaling on your ownterms instead.
