Sheila (00:01):
If you want deeper love
and better communication in your
relationships, start bybuilding a deeper relationship
with yourself.
Most people try to fix theirpartner before they even
understand their own values, needs and communication style,
and in this mini-sode, I'llshare how learning how you feel
seen, loved and valued changesevery relationship you care
(00:25):
about.
Hi, welcome to the Connect withSheila Botelho podcast.
I'm committed to helping youreconnect to your purpose,
elevate your wellbeing and buildyour version of a happy,
successful life.
You're listening to a mini-sodewhere I share an insight
designed to help you live intowhat lights you up this week.
Have you ever noticed how muchbetter your relationships become
(00:48):
when you feel truly connectedto yourself?
When we take the time tonurture our relationship with
ourselves?
Everything else seems to shift, from the way we communicate
with our loved ones to how weexperience intimacy, friendship
and even collaboration at work.
And here's what I've seen againand again in my own life and
(01:10):
the women I coach when you knowwhat makes you feel seen, heard
and loved, when you reallyreally know it, you're able to
express those things clearly, and that clarity is magnetic In
romantic relationships.
This has been especiallypowerful for me and I've noticed
that when I've taken the timeto reflect on what truly makes
(01:32):
me feel valued and I actuallyshare that with my partner.
Something beautiful happens.
It opens up space not just fordeeper connection but for honest
, loving, two-way conversations.
I'll say things like when youdo this, it makes me feel
incredibly supported, or what'ssomething that I do that makes
(01:56):
you feel really appreciated?
And the answers that come upalways surprise me, even after
being married to my husband foralmost 29 years.
It is really really incrediblebecause when you ask, you not
only show that you care, but yougain a map to love them better,
(02:17):
which is so cool because youcan think you know someone and
then they actually tell you whatthey're thinking and you
realize there's so much more tolearn.
We change Humans change overtime, and that's something huge
to take into consideration, because too often we assume that
the people in our life know howwe feel about them, but the
(02:41):
truth is we forget to say it.
We're busy, we're managing allthe things, but unspoken
appreciation doesn't always landand over time it can create
distance.
So here is your invitation thisweek Choose one person you love
, whether it's your partner, aclose friend or someone you work
with a lot and you really careabout them and start a simple,
(03:04):
heartfelt conversation.
Ask them what makes you feelseen and valued in a
relationship.
Then ask them is theresomething I could do more often
that would make you feel moreconnected to me?
And, lastly, what's somethingI've done lately that really
worked for you?
Then share your side too.
(03:26):
This isn't about getting itperfect oh my goodness, that
just does not exist.
It's about getting honest andcreating space for connection to
happen and to deepen.
And guess what happens?
When you make this a regularrhythm in your relationships?
You start catching the momentsof growth.
You become more mindful of yourown patterns Like you start to
(03:48):
see them come up.
You'll find yourself becomingmore grateful, you'll feel more
loved and you give more love inreturn.
And then you notice really somany things just start with you,
with cultivating a deeperrelationship with yourself first
.
That's exactly what my EmbodiedSuccess Meditation and Method
