Sheila (00:01):
Most people think
scaling comes from adding more,
working harder, pushing through, but I've found that the biggest
leaps in revenue, in creativity, in leadership, have happened
when I intentionally unplug, getout of my usual spaces and
create room for what's next toemerge.
Today I want to show you howmaking space outside your
business may be the moststrategic move you can make this
(00:23):
season.
Hi, welcome to the Connect withSheila Botelho podcast.
I'm committed to helping youreconnect to your purpose,
elevate your wellbeing and buildyour version of a happy,
successful life.
You're listening to a mini-sodewhere I share an insight
designed to help you live intowhat lights you up this week.
(00:45):
I just got back from someintentional unplug time this
weekend, away from my desk, awayfrom the to-dos, out in nature,
and today I want to share whydoing this regularly is one of
the most strategic moves you canmake for your business growth,
your creativity and yourwellbeing strategic moves you
(01:05):
can make for your businessgrowth, your creativity and your
wellbeing.
Carving out that sacred time, really unplugging, is a
revolutionary act in the worldof digital commerce no laptop,
no email, minimal phone use and, most importantly, getting out
of your regular environment.
I spent time in nature, Iwalked in new places and met
people I wouldn't normally meet, just allowing myself to be in a
(01:28):
different energy.
It really invited in moreexpansive, open, curious ideas.
So what happened?
Well, by the time I got back, Iwas overflowing with new ideas,
clarity on things I'd beenspinning on and, honestly, a
deep knowing of what to simplifyin my business this season.
(01:49):
And what had felt heavy orcomplex before was suddenly
crystal clear Then, when I wasshowing up for my clients after
I brought so much more spaciousenergy, which, of course, is
going to impact their experienceand, of course, my joy in the
process of delivering it.
(02:10):
So here's why this works yournervous system needs space to
reset.
Your creativity needs novelty.
Your leadership really thriveswhen you're resourced and
expansive, not contracted andconstantly overdoing, which is
such a cycle we can getourselves into.
And when you step away from yourusual rhythms whether it's just
(02:33):
where you work, the things thatyou do, when you work, you open
up the aperture of what ispossible.
You literally see newconnections, you meet new people
and you literally change theway your brain is wired to think
about what's next.
And this is one of the simplestways to bring back some life
(02:53):
into your business without doingmore, but actually
intentionally by doing less.
Because true growth that issustainable does not come from
adding more to your plate.
It comes from aligning yourenergy and focus with what
actually moves you forward, andthat really requires space.
So here's my invitation to youthis week when can you create
(03:16):
even one pocket of space tounplug, to get out in nature, to
explore somewhere new, to meetsomeone new or simply to breathe
and just notice what emergesLike?
Literally, sit in front of atree, lean your back against it,
get your feet on the grass, just be with yourself.
Because, remember, the mostexpansive growth often happens
(03:38):
in between all of the doing.
Have you ever noticed that, like in the shower, brushing
your teeth, making a meal, driving somewhere, your next
breakthrough likely won't happenon your next Zoom call.
It will happen when you giveyourself permission to let
everything land from that Zoomcall or other conversations and
when you give yourself thepermission to be in your fullest
(04:00):
life outside the four walls ofyour business.
I can't wait to hear what opensup for you.
So until next time, take goodcare.
Thank you for listening.
