In this episode, I share a deeply personal story from my time at a holistic healing center in Perth, Australia. This experience, influenced by my mentor Rayeleen, taught me the vital importance of discernment and the profound power of kindness.

A simple, heartfelt smile towards a stranger led to a life-altering moment for both of us, demonstrating the transformative power of empathy and human connection. This story highlights the core values of love, compassion, and kindness, and how these values can profoundly impact not only our own lives but also those around us.

(00:46):
I was reminded recently about anexperience that I had many years
ago when I worked for a holistichealing center.
It was this gorgeous littlecommunity, down by the hills.
Here in Western Australia, inPerth, and I know many of you
would've visited that beautifulsanctuary and I call it a
sanctuary because the woman thatowned the center had the most

(01:11):
incredible presence.
She really was the epitome oflove and first introduce me to
what would then become one of myprime.
Values, which is the power ofkindness.
And I remember her telling meonce that she had learned a long
time ago that.
It didn't matter how powerfulsomeone appeared to be or how

(01:34):
much money they had, or whetherthey had been to university and
had multiple degrees ordiplomas.
She looked to one thing and onething only as an assessment as
to whether she wanted to allowsomeone close to her in her
life.
And she basically used a tool.
We call in spiritual, termsdiscernment.

(01:55):
So discernment is.
Different to judgment.
Judgment says you're wrong.
I'm right.
Discernment says, Hmm, I'm gonnago in another direction.
This doesn't resonate with me.
And when we are looking athealing and raising our
vibration, we are wanting to bein resonance with people and
situations and experiences thatalign to who we are at the core

(02:18):
levels.
So in other words, aligned to.
Our inner being and what I'vediscovered through my 22 years
of deep diving into spiritualityis that the core of who I am is
love.
The core at your center is alsolove, and in fact, everyone, no

(02:40):
matter who they're and whatthey've done or what they've
been through in life has thislight within.
That burns like an ember.
And when we are tapped into ourown heart and we are living in
heart coherence and we areresonating with the power of
love, and it changes people'slives.
And sometimes it can be thesmall moments, as simple as a

(03:03):
smile or just a gesture or justseeing and acknowledging
someone, that can.
Pull someone out of that chronicnegative thought or lack of
self-belief or even pain thatthey might be in either
physically or metaphysically oreven spiritually and coming back

(03:24):
to that spiritual center.
So I was working there and oneday, I decided through
witnessing my incredible mentorRaylene, who had.
I not just told me about thevalue of hers.
That was one of many, love beinganother one and compassion, she
also demonstrated it.

(03:45):
So it's one thing to valuesomething, but it's another
thing to be the epitome of it,she certainly did that and
taught anyone who worked in hercenter or who even just came in
to sit in the space we were inwould always feel it.
I remember one day I'd goneacross to the shops and I was on
my way back to work, and it wasjust always this feeling of
grace.
Ralene is a very.

(04:06):
Beautiful soul and just alwayspleasant and giggling and fun to
be around.
And I remember walking back andI was infused with gratitude.
The sun was shining, the treeslooked amazing.
I had my two beautiful kids athome being looked after by my
husband, and I just felt soblessed to be in service.
I loved the customers that wouldcome in the shop.

(04:28):
I literally was being paid towork in a magic shop and you
could have, I would've gonethere for free'cause it was just
such a beautiful space to hangout in.
And as I was walking back, I waswalking down the pathway and I
saw this man walking towards meand I literally caught his eye.
And looked directly at him.

(04:50):
And you know when you arewalking past someone and there's
just this moment, there was justthis soul to soul connection,
and I didn't say anything.
I smiled at him and just keptwalking.
And it wasn't hard to do becauseI was in a state of love and
gratitude and appreciation.
So I just really showered thatupon him, a complete stranger.

(05:10):
And so as I walked past him, Icontinued in and.
Walked into the center and twoseconds later we had this little
bell that would go off whensomeone entered and the door had
opened and I turned around andthere was this man.
So he'd literally gone in theopposite direction, turned
around, came back, and he walkedin and he walked right up to me
and I thought, oh my gosh, likewhat's happening?

(05:31):
'cause it felt, you could feelthe essence and the energy.
And he looked me in the eyes andhe said to me, I just wanna say
thank you.
And I said, oh, what for?
And he goes, I was about to gohome and take my life.
And something about you has toldme that I'm going to be able to
sort my shit out and change mylife.

(05:52):
And he said, I just thought itwas important to come in and let
you know and say thank youbecause you witnessed me.
You saw me, and I don't knowwhy, but you've given me hope.
And I remember just.
Being quite young at the timeand not really having any idea

(06:12):
of what that meant and justfeeling a little overwhelmed and
kind of, surprised I guess.
And he turned around and leftand I never saw him again.
Never heard from him again.
But there's just, again, anotherreason why.
You know, really tuning intoyour values and determining
what's important in life.
And that good old saying ofdon't sweat the small stuff

(06:35):
really does have, significance.
We really never know what anyoneelse is going through, and until
we've walked a thousand miles insomeone else's shoes, I kind of
think, who are we to judgeanybody?
So when I feel like, my ownjudgment's rising and I'm
challenged by a situation orsomething that's, an experience
I've been in, it's a greatreminder just to come back to

(06:57):
compassion and, and really takethe action of discernment
instead of judgment.
We, no one's right, no one'swrong.
We're all just humans having avery complex experience.
And ultimately my belief is thatwe're all doing the best we can
with who we are and what weknow.
So, you know what?
Walk lightly today.
Love yourself.
Be extra kind.
And remember that that energytranspires and people feel it.

(07:22):
I hope it's given you food forthought today, and I hope that
someone shows you some kindness.
All right, until next time, havean awesome day.
