(00:55):
Welcome back and thank you fortuning in today.
In this episode, I want to sharesomething deeply personal, a
story about how my selfdevelopment journey helped me
make one of the most pivotaldecisions in my life.
We'll explore how doing theinner work of self discovery
strengthens your intuition andhow trusting that guidance can
(01:16):
lead to amazing outcomes.
And by the end of this episode, you'll have tools to help you
feel more connected Andconfident in making your own
decisions.
So let's dive in.
When we embark on a selfdevelopment journey, it's not
about becoming better.
It's about peeling back thelayers of fear, doubt, and those
(01:40):
limiting beliefs that cloud ourinner wisdom.
Years ago, I faced majorcrossroads in my business.
At the time I was working fulltime out of a naturopathic
clinic.
Which was a safe and familiarenvironment, but when the clinic
owner announced that she wasclosing it, I was faced with a
decision I wasn't reallyprepared for.
(02:03):
Should I continue renting a roomsomewhere else or should I take
that leap and open my owncentre?
Was the thoughts I waspondering.
On the surface it seemed like anexciting opportunity, but deep
down I was scared.
I had.
Limiting, a limiting belief thatI never wanted to own my own
(02:23):
business, which is funny becauseI did, I just hadn't considered
it a real business, which is aninteresting limiting belief.
Um, as well, I grew up watchingmy parents pour endless hours
into their business, reallytaking breaks.
And I didn't want to feeltrapped in the same way.
But then I remembered somethingin my early career, I worked in
(02:45):
a healing center and the ownerthere encouraged me to treat the
space as if it were my own.
In fact, she did that of all thepractitioners that worked from
her healing center, as well asany staff.
And I worked on reception at thetime and ran my workshops, my
Reiki workshops from her center.
I even had my own key and wouldimagine quietly to myself when I
(03:09):
would open the center, imaginingwhat it would be like to have my
own center like hers.
And her center was sobeautifully fitted out.
Uh, that memory had stayed withme, but I had kind of buried it
under layers of doubt and fear.
I'm sure you can relate.
Not knowing what to do, I turnedto my business coach for
(03:30):
guidance.
Through our conversations, Iuncovered the unconscious fears
that were holding me back.
And once I acknowledged thosefears, I was able to shift my
mindset.
I started to set intentions andbegan visualizing what having my
own space could look and feellike.
That's when my intuition camethrough in a powerful way,
(03:53):
through a vivid lucid dream.
I saw myself standing at the topof a hill in a flying car,
because it's a dream, lookingdown at a square patch of lawn
in front of a large commercialbuilding.
And in the dream, I was, I sawmyself down the bottom of the
(04:13):
hill and I was in the flying carat the top of the hill.
And I saw myself putting my footon the accelerator and literally
flying down that hill.
And there was a girl, which wasmyself, another aspect of
myself, waving her hands, tryingto stop me.
And I literally just flew overthat fear.
And I felt completely liberated.
(04:37):
And when I woke, because it wasa lucid dream or a vivid dream,
I remembered every aspect of it.
And I remember thinking over itand realizing that it was, there
was a part of me that wascompletely uninhibited.
And there was a part of me thatwas terrified.
Would you believe the very nextday, my husband Gerald stumbled
across a listing for commercialspace in Vic Park.
(05:01):
And when I went to view it, Icouldn't believe my eyes.
The hills, the lawn, thebuilding, it was all exactly as
I'd seen in my dreams.
With my business coach by myside, um, we walked through the
space and envisioned how itcould be transformed to meet my
needs.
The synchronicities wereundeniable.
(05:24):
So to put it into someperspective, It was extremely
difficult to get times thatwould line up with my business
coach.
She was so busy and when I rangup it happened to be that the
agent didn't have anythingscheduled at the exact same time
that I was free and I had backto back clients as well.
And my business coach Marnie, was also available.
(05:46):
So when we work with intuitionand spirituality and we are on
path, it's amazing how theuniverse conspires to support
us.
I always have this saying thatwhen we take one step towards
spirit, spirit takes 10 stepsback towards us.
So those synchronicities wereundeniable.
I signed a five year lease.
(06:08):
and ran my business successfullyfrom that center for five
incredible years.
So pushing through my fear, trusting my intuition and doing
the work of self discovery werethe keys to making that
decision.
The growth and the opportunitiesthat followed were beyond any
imagination.
Anything I could have imagined.
(06:29):
So let's talk now about how youcan develop your intuition to
make your own empowereddecisions in life and in
business.
Here are a few tools to getstarted.
So consider journaling forclarity.
When faced with a decision, write down your fears, your
beliefs, and your desires.
This process helps uncoverhidden patterns that may be
(06:52):
Blocking your intuition.
Setting intentions.
Spend time visualizing whatsuccess looks and feels like for
you.
Intentions act as a magnet forintuitive insights.
And the third step is listeningto your body.
Tune into how your body reactsto different possibilities.
(07:14):
Listening to your body.
Tune into how your body reactsto different possibilities.
Often your gut instincts orheart will signal whether
something feels aligned.
When you combine these toolswith self-development work, you
create the space for intuitionto flourish.
It's a skill that just growsstronger with practice.
(07:36):
Let's do a quick exercise tostrengthen your connection to
intuition.
Take a deep breath in and out.
Close your eyes if it's safe todo so.
And think of a decision thatyou're currently facing.
(07:59):
Now imagine two possibleoutcomes.
As you visualize each one, notice how your body responds.
Is there a sense of lightness orheaviness?
Warmth or tension?
Subtle signals are clues fromyour intuition.
I often also consider does itfeel like an expansion or do I
(08:23):
feel a contraction?
Quite often when we feelcontracted, it could be because
it's not the right step forwardor because we've got fears that
we need to address in order tomake the choice that is aligned
with our true path and purpose.
Take another deep breath now andwhen you're ready, open your
eyes.
(08:44):
How did that feel?
This exercise is a simple way totune into your inner wisdom.
