Lisa Brandis (01:11):
Welcome to a brand new episode of Connecting to
Spirit.
I'm Lisa Brandis and I'm sothrilled to welcome you to the
start of 2025.
So let's begin by saying HappyNew Year.
Today we are exploring theenergy of the year ahead and how
we can deepen our connectionwith divine guidance whilst

(01:32):
making self care a priority.
So this year in particular isspecial.
In Chinese astrology, it's theyear of the snake.
A time of transformation, wisdom, shedding old skins to
reveal something new.
And from a numerologyperspective, 2025 is also a nine
year, which represents a year ofcompletion, reflection, and

(01:57):
preparing for new beginnings.
So these themes actually alignperfectly as we step into this
next year with intention andpurpose.
And for me, on a personal note,it feels especially significant
because of the year that I wasborn.
I am actually, the year of thesnake reflecting on this
connection.

(02:17):
I can see the snake as a symbolof adaptability, resilience and
spiritual growth qualities thatalign deeply with my journey.
So it feels like a powerfulopportunity, to embrace these
energies and step even furtherinto alignment with my purpose.
And I'm sure you guys areconsidering what you want to get

(02:41):
out of this year and any changesthat you might like to make as
well.
So before we dive into today'stopic, I thought I would share a
personal story with you.
It was a dream that profoundlyimpacted my journey and kind of
offers some wisdom as we embracethis transformative year.
So a few years ago, I had avivid and quite unforgettable

(03:05):
dream in it.
I found myself in a doctor'soffice.
Everything seemed polished andshiny with brochures advertising
some kind of cosmetic procedure, which struck me as odd since
I've never considered nor hadcosmetic surgery.
As I picked up the brochure, Irealized it described a process
involving snake venom beingextracted for use in a cosmetic

(03:29):
serum.
And my curiosity quickly turnedto discomfort as I walked into
one of the offices and inside Isaw six large snakes that were
being held captive.
And it was almost like I'd goneinto a back room by mistake, in
the dream.
So it was like, I felt like Iwasn't supposed to see that.
Part of the environment.

(03:50):
So it was almost like they werepresenting one way to the
public, but then there was avery different story behind the
scenes.
As I'd entered into this room, one snake in particular caught
my attention.
I wasn't sure if the fear I feltwas my own or if I was sensing
the snakes fear, but either way,I knew in my heart that I
couldn't go through with anytreatment.

(04:10):
And I literally just got out ofthat place as quick as I could.
So having left the dream.
I had woken up at that pointonce I'd just literally left the
clinic, but the dream stayedwith me.
I woke up feeling kind of verysad.
It was so vivid that I shared itwith a friend the next day and

(04:30):
she'd Suggested something I'dnever really considered before.
She said, why don't, cause Ifelt like the dream wasn't
finished and I don't knowwhether I was woken up by an
alarm.
I can't quite recall now, butshe considered re entering the
dream through meditation tochange the outcome because.
I kind of felt like I shouldhave gotten the snakes out of
that environment.

(04:51):
So curious and determined, Igave it a try in meditation.
I visualized myself going backinto that dream.
And this time I brought a brownmesh bag with me.
And when I saw the snake again,I gently opened the bag and the
snake slid in quickly, almost asif it.
Trusted me and I carried it toan open field and released it

(05:12):
into the wild and what happenednext was quite magical.
As a snake exited the bag, itturned back and kind of glided
past my feet in a way that feltlike a cat shows affection.
But it was as if the snake wasthanking me and this dream held
quite a deep meaning for mebecause at the time I was making

(05:34):
a significant shift in mybusiness.
I was moving from a rented roomin a naturopathic clinic to
considering opening my owncenter, which was a really big
leap at the time.
And I feared the unknown, especially how others might
perceive my work.
I had found a center that I'dlooked at that was alongside a
More traditional professionslike lawyers and accountants,

(05:56):
which would probably representthat shiny, you know, kind of
doctor's office that I wasseeing in the dream.
So when I reflected on thedream, I saw the snake as a
symbol of my inner strength andthe importance of moving beyond
fear.
And it reminded me to align withmy values, which are to serve,
to help, and also to stay trueto my path and authenticity.

(06:19):
So it didn't really matter whatothers thought.
What mattered was my intentionand my integrity.
So how does this story tie into2025?
The year of the snake and theenergy of the nine year ask us
to do exactly what that dreamtaught me.
To release what no longer servesus.

(06:40):
face our fears and trust ourinner wisdom.
So here are a few ways to alignwith these energies this year.
So the first thing you can do isconnect with your divine
guidance.
Take time each day to tune inwhether through meditation,
through journaling or simplysitting in silence.

(07:00):
Ask for clarity and trust themessages that you receive.
Make sure you put self care as apriority.
Transformation requires energy.
So make space for rest, nourishment and practices that
recharge you.
Remember, self care isn'tselfish.

(07:21):
It's essential.
Reflect and release.
So take stock of what's weighingyou down.
Are there old fears, are therehabits or relationships that no
longer align with who you arebecoming?
And just let them go withgratitude.
And don't forget to embrace yourstrength.
Just like the snake was sheddingits skin, trust that you have

(07:45):
the capacity to step into a newversion of yourself.
And just remember you're morecapable than you realize.
So as we explore these themesfor this year, 2025, I feel
called to share a message frommy guide Anya.
Channeling Anya has been, as youknow, if you've been listening

(08:05):
to this podcast for a while, hasbeen, um, deeply transformative
part of my own journey and awisdom often Provides clarity
and inspiration as well.
So I'm going to take a momentnow to connect with her and
allow her guidance on steppinginto this new year with grace,
courage, and purpose.

(08:26):
So join me now as I take a fewmoments and bring Anya through
to connect on this topic of newyears and intention setting.

Anya (08:36):
Yes, yes, we are here, we are here.
Ah, we love this story of thedream because dreaming is one of
the ways in which we as guidescan work with your unconscious
self to be able to bring throughmessages and to give your mind a
way to interpret the frequencyand the vibration.
Of your intuition so that youcan start to, find more peace

(09:00):
and alignment with spirit asyou're moving through your life
experience.
So we love the fact that youhave recalled this dream and the
significance of the symbols andusing symbology throughout your
life in order to find meaningand to understand things.
There are so many ways that youcan connect with your intuition
and so many ways that you can.

(09:22):
Communicate with your guides andwe love that you're exploring a
variety of ways rather thansticking with just the one that
feels safe and familiar andcomfortable.
Having a dream journal can be awonderful way of just when you
first wake up after that dream.
as state and document or thedream just in the details and

(09:47):
understanding what the dreamrepresented and then allowing
yourself to look at it from adifferent perspective and then
also ask what love feels aboutthe dream.
And so, As we are a frequencyvibrating with love, we would
like to give you our perspectiveon the dream, and it is about
the freedom from one's limitingthoughts and beliefs.

(10:11):
So you're right.
There is a sense where in thatdream, Lisa, and we're going
back quite a few years now, aswe recall that frequency and
that vibration with you, therewas a sense of feeling trapped
by one's fear and unable totrust in oneself in order to
take that leap and to move.
Out of the center and out ofthat known into taking on the

(10:32):
full risk of a commercialpremise and a lease.
And it is a huge step.
We understand why it feels likeit's safer, almost as if one
element of you liked thatrestriction.
And almost you can imagine as,as the listeners are joining
with us now can imagine.

(10:54):
Whilst the snake can becontained in a habitat that
there is a familiarity and asafety within that.
But, oh, how much moreincredible the exploration
becomes when you allow yourselffreedom from the mind's
limitations and the fear thathold you back and keep you in a
sense of separation.

(11:16):
There is a releasing of thecontrol.
So when you think of a snakeshedding its skin, it is
literally letting go of the old, releasing that need to control
the circumstances and theoutcomes and understanding that
you're working with anenvironment.
When you allow yourself to movemore into a trusting of life,

(11:38):
And life bringing differentsituations and experiences to
the forefront.
You're able then to navigate andco create with spirit and co
create with the very spirit oflife itself.
As you embark on settingintentions, because we know it
is a new year, and this is quiteoften when you look back and
reflect upon what worked lastyear and what it is you wish to

(12:00):
take forward.
We know that Lisa has been doingsome deep diving into the world
of her life experience and whereshe would like to move forward
and the things that bring herpassion and ignite that, joy
within is always the path thatwe suggest you follow where the
inspiration for you is.
Flows and where there is apassion towards something that

(12:23):
sometimes can feel frighteninglike that.
Going back into that dream.
And as she was able to reenterthat dream through meditation,
which is just the mind'sperspective, opening up a
different, perspective.
When you're able to use yourmind to look back on, you
actually can change thefrequency and the vibration

(12:43):
around an experience thatfilters down through the
subconscious to literallyrewiring the brain and changing
the patterns energetically, which then has physical
outcomes.
So it was in Lisa's case, a fearthat she was aware of, but
didn't quite understand.

(13:04):
And in reframing that throughjust symbology and the dream,
and then re entering the dreamthrough meditation, she was able
to literally free her own mindfrom the limitations as she was
able to feel that fear that thesnake had.
And that she had because she wasencountering a snake.

(13:25):
And of course, there is a wholelot of society fear for those
who live in Australia aroundencountering a snake.
So there's that conditioned fearfrom society that plays a part
in the, Instinct to protectoneself, which is a good thing.
And there is also the energeticfear of the unknown stepping

(13:49):
out.
And once she was able to reengage, re enter that dream,
take herself back into thatenvironment, there's so many
other significant.
Parts of that experience wherethere was self judgment or not
feeling quite good enough norready enough in order to
establish a business and set herbusiness aside right next door

(14:11):
to accountants and lawyers, partof that was overcoming her own
fears.
Fear of being seen asprofessional or being seen as a
professional modality, whichwas, and has always been part of
Lisa's intention in creatingprofessional Reiki masters and
practitioners.

(14:32):
So it was, that energy as wellas then also representing the
freedom that she was seeking.
And we tell you this storybecause we know you'll draw from
our experience and from Lisa'sexperience and her dream, you
know, perhaps areas in your ownlife where you can relate to the

(14:53):
messages of the unconscious mindand also how spirit communicates
through the very powerful modeof your dreams.
It's a wonderful way to begin.
If you're just starting out onthis journey of connecting with
your intuition and starting tointerpret the messages.
And we have found in the past, looking at your dreams from a

(15:17):
logical perspective can bebeneficial, but also looking at
it through the patterns and alsothrough the symbology can be
helpful.
the symbology with the animalscan also represent meaning for
humans to interpret their lifeand their life's journey and
experiences.

(15:37):
So we hope that this message hasbeen, helpful for you and we
look forward to engaging withyou again soon.
Namaste.
Namaste.

Lisa Brandis (15:56):
So, yeah, she's offered a different.
Deeper perspective on my dreamthan I'd originally considered.
There was lots going on for meat that time.
It's interesting when we lookback at what we're releasing
and, It can be really beneficialto stop and sit in gratitude as
to all the things that you havedone in the past and all the
things that you've achieved andexperienced and especially those

(16:20):
hard times and the challengesthat you've been through that
all contribute to Making you thebeautiful person that you are
right now.
So hopefully part of yourprocess in this new beginning in
this new year is taking time toappreciate all that you are and
all that you have done and allthat you've experienced thus far

(16:42):
as you start to get ready forwhat is to come and invite in
all the magic and all themystery and all the love and all
the fun and the joy and theconnections that you are going
to make.
I hope that as we step into thisyear of transformation that we
do so with intention and a trustin the divine guidance that's

(17:04):
always available to us.
Remember, you're not alone onthis journey, whether it's
through the dreams, meditation,or even just the quiet moments
of reflection, the universe isalways whispering messages of
support and love.
So thank you for joining metoday.
let's make 2025 a year ofconnection, growth, and

(17:27):
transformation.
Until next time, stay intuitive, stay inspired, and don't forget
to take care of yourself.
