Az STP modell (segmentation, targeting, positioning) egy régóta használatos központi koncepció a marketingben. Ezt a 3 lépcsős megközelítést elsősorban a piacra lépéskor szokták alkalmazni. Az STP modell ugyanis segít a marketingeseknek megfogalmazni és eljuttatni releváns üzeneteiket a szegmentált célközönségnek. Az ideális réspiac megcélzásával pedig sokkal sikeresebb lesz a marketing és ezáltal maga a cég is.
