Scott Stokely has been a part of the disc golf world (and vice versa) for nearly as long as he can remember.
Some good fortune allowed him to discover the sport after his mom moved the two of them into southern California's La Canada Flintridge which just happened to border Pasadena's Oak Grove Disc Golf Club; the United States' first permanent disc course.
During our Conversation with Scott this 39-year disc golf professional takes us on a history lesson of the sport, its ebbs and flows, why he considers golf (disc or ball) to be the most beautiful sport there is, and how disc golf has consistently been there for him, especially after he emerged from addiction struggles.
The winner of 90 professional tournaments - including 17 majors - Scott, in the mid-1990s, owned the Guiness World Record for disc throwing distance (211.3 meters or 693-feet, 3-inches).
Today, Scott lives out of a suitcase as he travels the globe helping to grow the sport that's provided him with so much. Trust us when we say you need to listen until the end to hear tales of disc golf in Vietnam and South Korea.
