(00:29):
shameless money talks andscaling secrets.
Created to support you, tosupport coaches and course
creators just like you, to helpyou take action, stop trading
dollars for hours and explodeyour business.
It's time to hit that sixfigure and beyond.
Let's go.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
Welcome, welcome,
welcome to the oh shit sequence.
This is probably one of myfavorite sequence because, no
matter how much of a superherothat I know that you are, life
happens.
I was just saying I was takingoffice hours this morning from
my car waiting for my husband.
He was at the hospital, in theemergency room.
(01:08):
It's part of the military partof the hospital, so I couldn't
go in anyways, so I got to dothat from the car.
So we always have situation inour life where we go oh shit, I
do not have time to businessright now because life happens
(01:28):
for a multitude of scenarios.
So, hi, if you don't know me,my name is Sophie Riley and I
like to consider myself sort oflike a lazy marketer, and what I
mean by that is that, no, I'mnot lazy per se, but if I don't
need to do something, I don'twant to do it.
(01:50):
It's like my brain just breaksdown and says, yeah, I don't
think so.
To give you a few examplessometimes we like to create more
work for ourself.
Either we're working on aday-to-day, either we're
over-complicating things, andthen my brain just kind of
(02:11):
breaks down.
It's like, no, I don't want towork this much.
How can I find ways to simplifythe process, to make it easier,
and I don't know about you, butthis is the year where my
mental capacity is at anall-time high, like there's just
not as much space as there usedto be and I'm not able to
(02:32):
remember as much as I used to.
Sure we can call it I'm gettingold, but regardless, there's
just not as much mental capacity.
And that's where automationcame into play.
And once I started to becomeobsessed with automation, I
started to see that I wasgaining back hundreds this is
(02:54):
not sugarcoating it Hundreds ofhours into my life and my
business every single month.
That's huge.
That is huge because, yes, weall want to create a business,
we all want to find our dreams, but none of us are dreaming to
spend every single minute of itat our computer building that
(03:19):
business and still holding on tothat dream.
So automation, for me, createsthat mental capacity that I
don't have, okay, but it createsa mental freedom.
It saves money.
Now, I am not kidding.
I've worked with hundreds ofbusinesses online and the first
VA that you should hire, sort ofspeak, is automations.
(03:43):
Should hire, so to speak, isautomations.
It's a system that's going toautomate so many things for you,
because if you can learn how toautomate your business first,
you are going to save thousands, thousands of dollars.
So it saves money.
And, of course, it saves timeand I gain money because my
(04:05):
business is more consistent, which is a huge win.
Now, before we jump in to thisoh shit, sequence, I want to
talk to you about the VIP hub.
The VIP hub is what I'll bereferring to a lot into this
series, because it is a systemthat I own.
(04:25):
It's a go high level systemwith a white label called the
VIP Hub, where I have the bestprice on the market.
It is the absolute best, andit's where I spend all of my
time just teaching you how toautomate your business, so that
you don't have to hire.
You have the capacity oflearning, you can hop on Zoom
(04:46):
and office hours to get somehelp, so it's very, very user
friendly.
So if you hear about the VIPHub, that is what it is we can
give you a special offer if youwant to join for $77 a month.
If you're in Canada, it's inCanadian.
If it's in US, it's going to beUS.
It is outstanding.
So if at any point a month, ifyou're in Canada, it's in
Canadian.
If it's in us, gonna be us.
It is outstanding.
(05:06):
So if at any point, just sendme an email, we'll send you the
special link, which is also inthe workshop portal.
So if you hear the VIP hum,it's awesome.
We'll have some step-by-stepvideos as well done into the VIP
hub.
So if you're somebody that'slisten, tech is overwhelming
that's okay, I got your back.
(05:28):
Now, if you don't know me yet, there's something I'm really
passionate about.
You're most likely going to askme a lot of questions.
That's okay.
I freaking love questions, butI may not answer it like your
typical coach, because one I amnot a coach and I really do want
you to succeed.
(05:49):
Now, before I tell you why Ianswer the questions the way
that I do, have you heard ofMelanie Perkins?
Melanie Perkins is the creatorof Canva.
Now, I am assuming that you'veall heard of Can canva.
It's where we create all of ourbeautiful graphics, our you
(06:10):
know videos and all of thatstuff.
It's the creator of canva, okay, so a melanie who's australian,
was born in 1987, so that's twoyears younger than me okay, has
a billion dollar, multi-billiondollar company today.
But Melanie was told no on heridea over a hundred times.
(06:33):
Sometimes, as creators, we wantto create something.
Okay, we have an idea.
My job is not to tell you thatthis idea won't work or that you
should do it my way.
My job is to help you createthe business of your dreams.
(06:58):
So when I answer questions, Iwill always tell you some ideas.
I will tell you some of thethings I've seen, some of the
trend, but you know what?
There's no right or wrong wayto build your business.
There's your way.
And as long as you always goback to the data and you always
(07:19):
try to move your businessforward with what's working,
what's not working, there's noright or wrong way to do it.
And I would say that MelaniePerkins is the proof of that.
So, at any point, if you haveany questions, shoot them my way
, but expect some questions back.
I'm so excited.
The oh shit sequence is what isgoing to save your life.
(07:43):
It's going to save your lifeand your business over and over
and over again.
An ocean sequence is somethingthat you can use for anything
that you want.
Okay, you're going on vacation.
Let me set up my oh sequenceand walk away.
Everybody gets sick.
This seems to be my house rightnow.
Let me set up my OSHA sequenceand walk away.
Everybody gets sick.
This seems to be my house rightnow.
Let me set up my OSHA sequenceand let's walk away so an OSHA
(08:10):
sequence can be used.
Life happens, there is anemergency, somebody in your
family passed away, it happens.
Those are not things that younecessarily can plan for, but
they happen and this is preppingyour business for those times,
(08:31):
and I don't care.
You can use this sequence ifyou're tired and you need a
break and you need a few extranaps in your life.
It's all good.
That sequence can be betweentwo to six weeks.
That's my preference.
If you're like Sophie, I haveso many offers.
Could I go with a two month, three month?
(08:51):
Yeah, let's do it.
There's no right or wrong wayto do it, and though I'm going
to more reference with what I'mused to do in my preferences, it
does not have to be exactly theway that I set up mine, and
that's okay.
Now the first or first job is toenvision what that's going to
(09:13):
look like, or us.
The more clear you are on wherethis is going for you, the
better it is.
Let me explain.
You're creating a funnel, a newfunnel.
You know there's so many thingsthat goes into a funnel, from
branding to fonts and colors andtext and pictures and a lot of
(09:35):
things can go right.
Just in my experience.
A lot of things can go wrong.
Things can go right.
Just in my experience, a lot ofthings can go wrong If you have
a very clear picture of whateach box, what each section, is
going to look like, what it'sgoing to say.
If you have a clear picture thatthe header is going to be this
(09:56):
font, this size, the paragraphis going to be this font, this
size, the paragraph is going tobe this font, this size, it's
really, really easy to set up.
But if you go and you open yoursystem, you go to your funnel
and you're like I have to createa funnel for an offer.
You're going to find yourselfplaying with the design, not
(10:17):
really sure what to say, changing things up, and what
happens is you're spendingprobably 50 times the amount of
time that it would have takenyou if you had a clear picture.
So we want to keep thingsproductive.
We don't have time to spend.
You know an insane amount ofthings.
So the first thing that we'regoing to do is we're going to
(10:38):
take in consideration all ofyour offers, so demanding.
So we're going to take inconsideration all of your offers
.
So what are you serious?
So what do you have in yourbusiness?
That is evergreen.
I understand that this is alittle hard if you are a service
(11:02):
provider or if you're a coachthat offers one-on-one and this
is like my one rule.
It cannot be in this sequencebecause this is for emergency.
This is considering that youdon't have the time to coach
one-on-one or to create a newwebsite or any of that.
Okay, we are in emergency rulemode and so we are looking for
(11:27):
evergreen offer.
The first thing that we aregoing to do is we are going to
brainstorm every single thingthat you have to offer that you
can sell.
We have to sell with thesequence well, you don, you
don't have to, but if you don't,you don't make money Just
putting it out there.
So we are going to start tobrainstorm some offers.
(11:53):
So, do you have any recordedmasterclass from previous
masterclass, recorded workshops?
Do you have any templates, homeworks, workbooks?
Sometimes we have a one-on-oneoffer.
We consider our offer as a book.
(12:14):
Okay, a book has multiplechapters.
Your offer, your one-on-oneoffer.
Our group coaching programwould have multiple chapters.
Your offer, your one-on-oneoffer or group coaching program,
would have multiple chapters.
You can also think of this asyour framework, okay, and each
of those chapters?
Well, it's full of pages.
Maybe there's one page in therethat is outstanding.
(12:39):
That would be a perfectstandalone offer.
Maybe in your one-on-oneprogram or coaching program you
have workbooks, homeworkactivities.
Those could all becomeindividual offers, and then
those are things that you'regoing to have in your backpack
that you're able to sell anytimeand make money, which is
(13:02):
beautiful as a service provider.
Some things that maybe are notas obvious, but a lot of people
want to know what you know.
So a course on how to editvideos or social media.
I mean, how many of us haveresearch on Google and tried so
(13:26):
many platforms to get ourcertain looks on our videos?
I'm still at the Googling phase, if I'm being honest.
I'm still looking for thatperfect editing software that's
going to save me time instead ofspending hours and hours
editing.
We're all looking for shortcuts, and typically service
providers are gifted with all ofthose shortcuts because we've
(13:50):
done it over and over again.
We've had so much experience.
So templates, how-to contentthat you might have in your
backpack, something that arereally popular.
There's Spreadsheet Notion,asana, trello or what's the
other one, clickup Journals,workbooks.
(14:14):
I have a Google Spreadsheet.
When people are always askingme I need to start a website,
but how do I get started?
Well, it's all in a spreadsheet.
You'll have that idea of whatthe website should look like,
feel like, should say, and thenboom, sometimes people just
don't know where to start, andcoaches, service providers, are
(14:34):
the perfect people to showpeople how you start.
Now we talked about theone-on-one as well.
One of the biggest block Ithink that people have is that
they're not gonna have an as bigtransformation because it's not
one-on-one, and that's okay.
That is the transformationladder.
(14:55):
You could have a transformationladder with a small product at
27, maybe a group coachingprogram, maybe a one-on-one
coaching program, and thattransformation ladder has a
different level and a differentinvolvement level of yourself,
right?
So, yes, the transformation maynot be as great, but it's still
(15:16):
the same transformation, butit's still the same
transformation.
So, with your list of thingsthat you have to offer, what do
we have so far?
If you are newish to thecoaching industry, to the
entrepreneur industry, you cantake everything that you're
learning today and turn it intoa launch 100%.
(15:38):
Turn it into a launch with yourone-on-one offers group
coaching program.
But at the end of the day, ifyou want to create that plan B,
that emergency sequence, wereally need to find those offers
that you have that you can makemoney and have to spend zero
(15:59):
time, zero of your time.
Your time's done.
I also want to say sometimesit's okay to envision that
six-week, eight-week sequence, but to only set up two weeks for
now.
If you only had one to twosmall offers right now, it's not
(16:22):
a problem.
Set up a two-week sequence andbuild it up later on.
You are better to have atwo-week sequence, emergency
sequence than nothing at all,right?
So things that would go into mysequence as a service provider
(16:49):
are templates, sops.
Who doesn't want all of my SOPsfor my business?
I've learned how to savehundreds of hours through
automation and SOPs.
You know, if you were to say, hey, sophie, let's do a
challenge, no problem, I have anSOP for that, things like that
that I'm able to offer.
And, of course, the VIP hub inan emergency sequence maybe I
(17:13):
offer a free 30 day, things likethat.
But for me, primarily aretemplates how to content like
SOPs.
Now listen, you absolutely wantto try different things, and I
am not saying to not have higheroffers in this emergency
(17:33):
sequence, but I will say to havethe proof in the pudding.
So if you're going to offer,let's say, a $2,000 self-paced
course, it will do better If youhave the proof in the pudding.
Is that the right expression?
Yay, win for Sophie today.
So if you have yourtestimonials, those offers will
(17:58):
do better.
Now, it's completely okay tostill put them in a sequence if
you don't have testimonials.
Just keep in mind to keep trackof what's working.
So every time I would set up anoh shit.
Sequence look at what's working, look at what's not working and
(18:19):
simply improve from there andsimply improve from there.
Listen, if you improve onething every time, that's huge.
If you set up one sequence amonth, that is huge.
We're always trying to set up afreaking castle on day one.
Listen, I'm guilty, I'mprobably the worst, but I will
(18:44):
say that every single time.
I'm like okay, sophie, chill, one thing is better than nothing
.
I win a lot more If you can setup one automation every single
month.
For 12 months, it's 12automation.
That is a potential of 50 to100 hours that you're winning
(19:07):
back into your day, that you'remore consistent, and that's
everything.
That is everything.
So, speaking of mental spaceand mental capacity, we are
keeping track of what we canhandle during this workshop.
We're using that as a steppingstone, and even if you set up
two weeks instead of six that'sfreaking awesome Then the next
(19:30):
time you set it up, you mighthave the mental capacity to set
up four weeks.
You just add another two weekson top of it, and that is
absolutely fantastic.
So if you haven't writtenanything down, let us know into
the comments so we canbrainstorm together some of
those ideas.
(19:50):
One of the best ways that Ivisualize everything is with
sticky notes.
The reason why they're stickynotes is that you can easily
move things.
If you were to put all of youroffers that you found on the
wall, okay, well, maybe thesethree would be a perfect bundle
for 97 or $27.
(20:12):
Maybe this one should be anupsell.
With this one, an upsell islike a little bump.
Well, maybe you have an offerthat has three templates for a
podcast for $27,.
This would be a perfect bumporder for that, because that's
organizing your podcast for, let's say, $11.
(20:34):
So you want to put everythingonto sticky notes however you
prefer.
It's not because that's myfavorite way.
You have to do it too, but in away that works for you.
Cheryl uses a whiteboard, right, I've seen that a lot that
works for Cheryl and that'sfantastic.
So whatever works for you, butput it down.
(20:55):
When it comes to automation,it's really, really great,
because right now we have ouroffers, but then after we figure
out our emails.
So this is something that everysingle time that we meet, we
add sticky notes they can bedifferent colors and then you
get to build your automationoutside of your software.
(21:17):
So if you're not somebodythat's super techie or you're
somebody that feels like I don'tknow how to best set up my
automation, listen, this isgonna be life changing for you.
All, right.
So you get to make somedecisions, and you get to make
those decisions before Thursday, where we keep going.
(21:39):
We're gonna start building theemails and decide what type of
sequence that we want to buildthe flash sale, long nurture
sequence.
There's definitely a lot ofoptions that we get to choose
from, but today you get to makesome decisions.
You put down all of yourevergreen offers.
(22:01):
So, first of all, are not ready.
How many of those do you needto create and set the time aside
to have that created.
Okay, so let's make that clear.
Let's make sure that we staywithin the realm of.
Let's be realistic, right?
So we're not going to go andcreate a new offer.
(22:24):
That's going to take us 60hours.
That's not the point.
We want to make things a wholelot easier.
Then you get to decide.
All right, for my first OSHAsequence, how long is it going
to be?
Now, if you're looking for aquick two-week sequence awesome.
You probably want to have oneto two offers.
(22:47):
You could have a whole lot more.
We just did a flash sale bonusround with Janine where there
was a different offer each day, totally possible.
So this is not.
Sophie said there only could betwo.
No, but if you have one to twooffers, maybe a two-week
(23:08):
sequence is the one to go.
If you're also new to creatinga sequence, if you don't have a
welcome sequence yet maybecreating an email list is new
maybe two to three weeks isperfect for you.
That's the perfect place tostart.
But if you have a few moreoffers and you have a welcome
(23:29):
sequence created which is allgoing to make sense because we
don't have to create everythingfrom scratch we're going to use
all the copies we've created inthe past.
We're going to see what works, what didn't work, and we're
going to build on from there.
So, if you're one of those thathas a lot of offers, well,
maybe you want to jump in into afour or a six-week sequence.
(23:51):
Now, the last thing that I wantto touch on is to look at your
business from a bigger bubble.
Okay, so, right now, todaywe're talking about setting up
an oh shit sequence for whenlife's happening and, yes, this
(24:12):
is mostly email sequence, correct, but what else is going
on into your business and whatare some other goals that you
have?
Okay, so maybe Janine is tryingto grow her Instagram.
Ashley, maybe you're working onYouTube, right?
(24:34):
Cheryl podcasts, which isoutstanding, by the way Amazing
episode I just listened to today.
So there's other goals, right?
So I want you to think aboutwhat are some of your goals this
year that you could use intothis sequence.
(24:58):
So, janine wants to grow herInstagram.
So maybe in that oh shitsequence, you have a few posts
that you want to make sure thatthey go see.
This can bring them to apodcast episode.
This can bring them to anInstagram Reels.
This can bring them to aYouTube videos.
(25:20):
So it is okay, beyond theselling your offers, if you're
trying to grow your Instagram,if you're trying to get some
podcast download, if you'retrying to bring people to your
YouTube, to also think of waysof how we can incorporate that
into your sequence, into yoursequence Awesome.
(25:46):
So Thursday we are diving intoemails, so keep an eye out on
the workshop page.
You're going to be able toaccess this video.
It's going to be in audio aswell, as well as the transcript.
There's also going to be someawesome example of sequence
coming up.
There's gonna be lots of GIFpopping there like graphics that
(26:09):
you can use, all that sorts ofthings.
I'll see everybody on Thursdayand I'm really excited.
