Our special guests this episode are Hilcia Pena (Architect / Walt Disney Imagineer) & her husband / returning guest Jameel Haiat (Author / Poet / Creative / Punk).   Jameel and I were both living and woking (our dreams!) in NYC on September 11, 2001.

We both were starting our mornings, heading to work on that blue-skied, crisp, early fall morning when everything changed in our city, our country, our world.    There would be positive and negative transformations to come from this event: some emboldened to spread their negativity, while some positively heroic &  giving of their lives to helping others.

It is this TRANSFORMATION which we Jameel and Gordon will be remembering in this Episode.

To avoid setting off any triggers, this is not a retelling of the horrific events of that day. Instead, we are focussing on how we personally transformed or had a new reality transform all around us.

Perspectives change.

Change for positivity.

LOVE

This episode features the beautiful instrumental score “Wayward” by John Witcher.   https://music.apple.com/us/album/wayward/917718468?i=917718484

IN THE BEGINNING...  John Witcher  & Gordon Meier started the podcast to talk about their creative experiences: successes, failures, inspirations & what influences them to continue collaborating creatively for over 30 years.

In creating those first 20 podcasts, they grew in understanding and awareness, both individually and in working more closely together than they had in 25 years.

The episodes went from being “topical” to “discovering meaning”, from the shared experiences of their past to what has become part of themselves, as individuals, today.

NOW is a new phase of self-discovery and of TRANSFORMATION.

Going beyond “topic” to “faith in living the message”.

Change is now embraced more than ever, and the next episodes will revolve around the lives of our guests, their history, their creative transformations and faith to follow that voice in their head.

Practicing what we Preach!

GO.  BE.  CREATIVE!

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
