Discover how I booked 20 guest speaking opportunities in 3 months with my super chill non-traditional marketing approach to guest podcast pitching (in as little as 10 minutes a day).

If you haven’t had much luck cold pitching to be a guest speaker on podcasts, and you feel a ton of resistance around sending out a one-sheet, or using cheesy pitch scripts that never seem to work anyway… but you have a burning desire to get your work out there to impact more people… you’re going to love this!

I’ve tried cold emailing podcast hosts, I’ve tried outsourcing it, and it never worked.

So I was SO happy to discover a WAY more fun approach that leads to near instant YES’s from really cool podcast hosts that I’m super excited to talk to.

I stumbled on the magic formula that feels so easy and just works.

So I decided to record a podcast episode detailing my exact strategy, my casual podcast pitch template and examples of my podcast pitches and how they lead to 5-10 guest speaking engagements every month, without having to spend hours writing emails.

In fact… I didn’t send a single email!

Intrigued?

Listen to this week’s episode of the Creative Magic Club podcast and I’ll spill the beans so you can start booking guest podcast speaking opportunities with ease!

I am here to sharelife-changing strategies for
mindset, making money, andreaching more people with your

Creative Magic Club.

(02:27):
Hi, Sarah Mack here.
Welcome to the Creative MagicClub Podcast, your place to
become a six-figure creative byfilling your high-ticket offer
using authentic storytellingguided by astrology.
So I have landed on this magicformula to book podcast guest

(02:48):
speaking spots.
And I want to share it with youto help you to get your message
out there, to grow youraudience, attract more super
aligned clients, and have anamazing time doing it with
incredible podcast hosts who arejust going to grow your
community filled with even moreawesome people.
So I'm calling this my chillanti-hustle, not traditional

(03:10):
marketing approach to podcastguesting that has grown my
audience by hundreds just inthis last year and has led to me
booking 20 guest podcastingappearances in the past three
months alone.
Here's a few things that I'vetried that did not work for me.
Maybe you've tried this too.
I've tried writing a templatedemail that my VA sent out to the

(03:33):
emails of podcast hosts thatshe had researched and put in a
spreadsheet.
We even had a follow-upstrategy.
Never really worked well for me.
But what has consistentlyworked well for me, that can
take as little as five to tenminutes to book a guest
podcasting spot with no fancyspreadsheets or follow-up

(03:57):
protocols that has booked me 20guest speaking gigs on podcasts
within the past three monthsalone.
This is what I've been doing.
And I will add, I have not paidfor a single feature.
So, first off, I start withpeople already in my network who
have podcasts.

(04:17):
Probably you know a few people, you've come across them.
We all know people who have apodcast these days.
So start there.
This is like your warm network.
Then, as I come across peoplewho have podcasts on Instagram,
usually people are saying theyhave a podcast in their bio
these days.
So it's really easy to noticewhen people have podcasts.

(04:40):
I simply screenshot theirprofile on my phone.
Then I set myself the challengeof pitching to just one person
daily.
And I add this to my dailyhabit tracker that I keep in my
planner.
I use a passion planner, and Ihave these little like sticky
habit tracking tapes that I putin like the blank section, and I

(05:03):
write out all of my dailythings that I want to move
through.
So when it comes to the end ofthe day, and I haven't done
this, which is usually the case,I simply look in my photos for
the last person that Iscreenshot.
I go to their profile onInstagram, I check out their
page, and I look to see that wehave compatibility in our
audiences.

(05:24):
And obviously check to see ifthey're submitting guests or if
they, you know, what informationI can glean from a quick glance.
And I look for ways that mystory and my work can add value
to their work and community.
Then I send a one to two minutevoice note.
I say hi and introduce myself.

(05:45):
I let them know what I loveabout their work or their vibe
or what they're up to.
And then I let them know that Ithink there's crossover in our
work and our audiences.
Then I suggest a topic that Ithink would add value, or I give
them a couple of differentoptions of things that I could
speak on, obviously focusing onthe main topics that I want to
be known for in my brand.

(06:06):
And I let them know that I'mhappy to brainstorm ideas that
would fit with their programmingand that I would love to book a
time to be interviewed ifthey'll have me on their show.
And this just works.
This is how I book all of myinterviews these days.
And even if it's a no, I'vestill made a new connection with
someone that I'm excited tohave in my network.
So it's really a win-winsituation.

(06:28):
So this is this is really thekey part of why this strategy
works is the brand values andmission alignment.
Because when you stand for andare working towards similar
things, it just becomes an easyyes.
Beyond someone, like no podcastguest has the same top desire

(06:53):
as you, right?
Your top desire is to reach newaudiences, to add value and
attract people who would be goodfit clients for your offer.
This is why we do this, right?
It's the primary intention.
But the secondary intentionthat you both share is the
impact and the mission of yourwork, right?

(07:14):
Why do we show up and sharepodcast material?
Why do we create content?
The ultimate goal is to helppeople, and that is something
that we all connect on.
So look for those common themesof how your work helps people
and how their work helps people, and look for those

(07:35):
intersections because that'sreally the pitch that you're
making.
You're not saying, hey, willyou help me fill my offer?
Even though there's reallynothing wrong with that.
And you can absolutely offer, you know, affiliate referrals
for any clients that comethrough them.
I think that's awesome too.
I personally have never reallydone that as a part of my
pitching process, but I'mtotally open to it if people ask

(07:58):
me about it.
So your job is really to sellthem on how you coming on their
podcast is going to help theiraudience to get what they want
because that is ultimately goingto add value to increase the
credibility and the popularityof your podcast.
And knowing that when you cometo somebody's podcast, they're

(08:21):
gonna tag you, you're gonnareshare that their show is gonna
get visibility in front of youraudience too.
So that's why it's so importantto focus on the alignment and
the crossover of your audiences.
And one of the key phrases, Iguess I've used this when I'm
pitching guests.
Like if I want a guest to comeon my show, something that I'll

(08:43):
say is, you know, these are allthe things about you and your
story that are really gonnaresonate with my clients or with
my audience.
And I know that my audiencewill be really into your work.
So that's kind of what you'regonna be pitching when you are
pitching a podcast host to bringyou on.

(09:05):
Is here are the parts of mystory that are really gonna
empower or educate your clients.
I would love to come and sharethis to help them to reach the
goals of your podcast.
What are the impact goals oftheir podcast and how can you
specifically connect what youwant to share, what you want to
talk about, to helping theiraudience to reach the goals of

(09:27):
their podcast?
This is essentially like thevalue proposition of this whole
conversation that's gonna makeyou an easy S and gonna get them
excited about it, right?
So the more closely you alignwith the values and the goals.
And when I talk about brand, what I mean is, say, for
example, my podcast is CreativeMagic Club.

(09:48):
So if anybody uses the wordclub or the word magic, or
they're talking about money, orthey're talking about brand, or
they're talking about astrology,I'm like, okay, we have a
keyword match.
And that just to me, it says somuch about the person, about
their vibe, and about theircommunity, right?
So that's what helps me to makereally, really quick decisions.

(10:10):
And that's really the benefitof having a really well-thought
out, authentic and potent andclear brand and brand message
because it helps people be aninstant yes or an instant no.
Like when I started using theword witch in my branding, my
branding coach at the time waslike, this could turn a lot of
people off.

(10:30):
And when I thought about that,I was like, yeah, that's true.
But I want to work with thetype of people who were turned
on by the word witch.
And I've had a conflictingrelationship with the word witch
because my brother used totease me about it.
And obviously, witches haven'thad the greatest branding in the
cultural zeitgeist, but youknow, it's one of those words

(10:51):
that I think magical women arejust reclaiming.
And so, in the reclaiming ofthat, I am suddenly an easy yes
for all of the other humans outthere who resonate with what
that word represents and whatwe're reclaiming it around.
And, you know, also showingthat I get to express myself
authentically while using thatword, you know, and I am

(11:15):
reclaiming it in my own uniqueway.
And I know that that is gonnabe an instant yes for people.
That gives people so muchinformation about me when we the
the words that we choose whenwe're describing our work and
we're titling our you knowoffers and and podcasts and
digital assets.
So because I have a podcast, ifI have space and I feel that

(11:37):
the person that I'm pitchingmeets my current criteria for my
podcast guests, then sometimesI'll pitch a podcast swap, like
if I'm really excited to getthem on or I know they're gonna
bring a perspective that Ireally want to have on my
podcast.
And sometimes, even if I don'tpitch a swap, people will come
back and ask for a swap.
And if it's aligned, I'll agreeto that too.
So, right now, I've recorded mymonthly podcast guest spot on

(12:01):
my own show through until aboutMarch next year.
And my primary intention is tobring on guests who want to talk
about astrology and who haveastrology-friendly audiences for
many reasons.
Number one, I'm obsessed withtalking about astrology, and
these interviews are really themost fun for me.
And number two, I know thatentrepreneurs who are into
astrology really are my idealclient.

(12:22):
So I want to save those spotsfor people whose audiences align
with these primary values in mybrand and my business.
So if I'm not currently bookingguest interviews, I'll often
offer to go live to sharesomeone's work with my Instagram
audience if I feel it'ssomething that would be relevant
and interesting.
So, how do I keep momentum withthis?

(12:44):
Really, how I've createdmomentum with absolutely
everything in my life that I'vecreated consistency around, I
create accountability.
So if I'm in a mastermind, I'lluse that.
Or I'll just recruit abizbestie or an entrepreneur
friend who has the same goalsand will send a celebratory text

(13:05):
or emoji every time we pitch.
And this inspires each of us tokeep going.
Sometimes I'll get in the flowand I'll be like, oh, I'll just
send one more, and I'll justsend one more and I'll send like
five pitches at once, and thenspend the rest of the week just,
you know, responding andfollowing up when people are
replying.
So it really never takes morethan 10 to 30 minutes on one

(13:27):
day.
And I can do as much or aslittle as I want to, keeping my
intention to keep that momentumgoing.
I think it's so much morepowerful to do a little every
day to keep that momentum going, versus, like, I mean, you
definitely can pitch a wholebunch at once, but you have to
make sure obviously that you'reon your D DMs and you're

(13:48):
checking and you're followingup.
I think the key to succeedingat this is that I keep it so, so
simple and quick to execute.
So I do have a spreadsheet witha list of potential podcasts
that I would be a good fit forthat I got a VA to research for
me.
And I will continue to add them.

(14:08):
Like if I'm sitting down andI'm looking through my photos,
or I've taken a lot of photos ofpeople who have podcasts that I
could pitch to, I will updatethem into that spreadsheet.
The main thing is to bepitching because ultimately I
can check on whether or not Ineed to follow up by just
skimming through my DMs.

(14:30):
Obviously, there's quite a lotof activity going on in my DMs
and Instagram.
So if I want to make sure thatI want to follow up with people
who maybe didn't see it ordidn't respond, then I can look
back at the spreadsheet and Ican then, you know, look up
their Instagram handle and goand look up that person.
And here's my approach tofollowing up.
If they didn't see it or theysaw it and they didn't respond,

(14:53):
I'll just write like, hey, justbumping this.
Wanted to make sure you sawthis.
Hey, just checking in.
Did you get a chance to listento my voice note?
Would love to connect, right?
And I'm really very unattached.
Like, if someone doesn'trespond after that, I'm probably
just gonna let it go and moveon because there's so many easy
yeses out there.
There's so many people.
I don't need to be hounding andchasing people.

(15:16):
And I trust the timing and Itrust the flow of what's easy
and the path of leastresistance.
The second thing that I thinkreally supports my momentum and
my success in this is reallyhaving a clear intention, which
is very simple.
It's usually to book four tofive interviews per month.
Although last month I set theintention to book 10 just for

(15:39):
fun, and here's what happened.
And this does start to happenno matter how big or small my
goal is, which is I activate theguest speaking invitation
vortex, and I start to manifestinvitations out of nowhere from
people I had no idea were evenin my network.
People start to pop up in myDMs, and this is when I'm

(15:59):
focused on this.
Like this happens from time totime when I'm not focused on
this, but when I've set theintention and I've decided I
want to guest speak on aninterview on other people's
platforms, it's like theuniverse is like, oh, she's
submitted her request.
She clearly has absolutely noresistance around this.
So let's just send heropportunities, let's make it
easy.
And obviously, I'm doing mypart.

(16:20):
You know, I'm pitching, I'mreaching out, I'm making
connections, I'm following newpeople on Instagram, I'm
messaging them, but it just kindof like amplifies and more and
more opportunities start to flowin.
And you know, this can alsocome in the form of guest
speaking in other people's paidprograms, in free summits,
bundle giveaways, community livestreams, as well as guest

(16:43):
podcasting spots.
And this has been happening alot lately, and I've grown my
audience by hundreds of peoplethis year doing this.
And as someone who has had along-standing kind of a grudge
about how slow my audiencegrowth has been, I really
decided to turn this around thisyear.
Well, you know what?
The first thing I did was Istopped complaining about it,
and I really, you know, got intothe story of like, no, your

(17:06):
audience is growing, and youhave the power to turn that up.
And now it's so fun when peopletell me that they discovered me
on someone else's podcast, andI get so many emails from new
listeners on my own podcast whoare loving my work and who are
excited to work with me.
And my podcast downloads havedoubled from the previous
12-month period.

(17:27):
So, in next week's episode, I'mgonna talk about what
astrological transits you canwatch out for to leverage for
cosmic audience growth.
And I'm gonna share what's beengoing on for me, too, and what
you can watch out for in yourown chart.
And there's so many pockets ofopportunity that we can really
leverage.
So, if you love my simple, fun, easy to execute approach to

(17:51):
pitching, and you love the ideaof doing it in alignment with
your astrological transit, oreven if this all feels kind of
new and awkward to you, andyou're looking for some support

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
