Here we go.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
On the early morning hours of April thirteenth, twenty eleven,
Clint Bobo was woken up by his family's dog going
crazy at the front window, and when he looked out,
he saw his sister, Holly and a mystery man having
a heated conversation in their garage. Now, Clint assumed that

(02:53):
the man was maybe her boyfriend and Holly was maybe
dumping him or they were in a fight, but he
soon realized that this man was most likely not Holly's boyfriend.
Clint grabbed a loaded pistol and went out to the garage,
and once inside the garage, Holly and the man were gone,
and Clint saw bloodstains. He immediately called nine one one.

(03:17):
Holly was never seen again until September of twenty fourteen,
when her remains were found about twenty miles from her home.
But who did this? Why was she killed? Did her
family ever see justice? The Bobo family lived in Darden, Tennessee,
just on the banks of the Tennessee River, an hour

(03:37):
so west of Nashville. Parents Karen and Dana Bobo literally
built their home with their own hands and planned to
raise their family there. In nineteen eighty five, Karen and
Dave gave birth to their first child, Clint, and in
nineteen ninety they gave Clint a little sister, who they
named Holly. The Bobo children grew up playing outside ATVing, fishing,

(04:02):
riding horses, you name it. The Boo family was also
very active in their local church. Holly would often sing
at church in the gospel. Holly and her mom, Kieren
were so close, she really was a mommy's girl. Friends
and family of the Bobos would talk about how Karen
and Hollywood literally.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
Finish each other's sentences.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
They had that rare type of mother daughter bond that
only a few lucky people get to experience in their lifetime.
Kieren was an elementary school teacher in the area, so
the family was making an impact on their community. They
were a wholesome and tight knit family in their community.
In twenty eleven, Holly was twenty years old and she

(04:43):
was in the thick of nursing school. Holly had been
a model student since she was in high school. She
attended Scott's Hill High and had one of the highest
GPAs in her graduating class. Holly was one of those
students in high school that wouldn't even let her friends
copy her work because she thought it was wrong.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
Oh, I have.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
To take a stand, Shannon, I won't let you copy
my work feet Holly.

Speaker 3 (05:09):
It's like Noah, that was hard to do, stand up
to your friends.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
She was a wonderful role model to all those who
knew her. Friends of Holly said that she was the
type of girl that inspired others to be themselves and
not be afraid to be bold.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
So at this.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
Point now, Holly was attending the University of Tennessee. At
Martin Parson Center for Nursing School. Holly had a very
serious boyfriend named Drew Scott. Holly and Drew were actively
planning their future, and Drew had recently given Holly a
promise ring. On the morning of April thirteenth, twenty eleven,

(05:49):
Holly was up super early to finish studying for a
nursing exam that she had later that day. She was
awake by four thirty am and at the kitchen table
that Wednesday morning. Her mom, Karen, was up for work
soon after, and she made Holly a lunch, as she
did every day, and then kissed her goodbye and told
her she loved her before heading to the elementary school

(06:11):
for a day of teaching. After Karen left, the house
was quiet again. Around seven point forty, Clint is woken
up by the family dog barking like crazy, clearly barking
at something. As Clint approached the window, he could hear
two muffled voices in the garage behind the house. While
he couldn't totally tell if they were arguing or what,

(06:33):
he recognized Holley's voice right away and just assumed that
the other voice, which was male, was her boyfriend Drew
As Clint peeked through the clothes blinds, he saw Holly
and who he thought was Drew, crouched down in the
garage facing each other.

Speaker 3 (06:51):
Now, this was his younger sister.

Speaker 2 (06:53):
He was seeing, and he was assuming she was fighting
with her boyfriend. So Clint decided not to go out
there and get involved, but he did decide to call
his mom. When Clint called Karen, he asked her if
Holly was going to school that day or if she
was going somewhere with Drew, because he was looking at
them in the garage talking about something. Now, Holly's class

(07:16):
with the exam was scheduled for eight a m. And
Holly had a drive to college, which was a fifteen
minute commute, so she would have to leave pretty quickly there.
From when Clint was looking out the window, Karen instantly
knew something was wrong because she knew that Drew wasn't
at their house, he was turkey hunting on Holly's grandma's property.

Speaker 3 (07:37):
Also, Karen knew that Holly would.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
Have typically left for school to give herself plenty of
time to get there. Karen told Clint to get his
gun and go out there, and she hung up to
call nine one one. As Clint went to get his
loaded pistol, Holly and this mystery man walked through the
yard into a short trail that led to a logging road.
Karen was a specially concerned because Clint reported that he

(08:03):
saw Holly and the man walking together, and she was
walking on her own, so it wasn't like this dude
was dragging her anything. When Clint went outside into the garage,
he saw Holly's black Mustang in the garage. Clint also
saw a few drops of blood near where Holly and
the mystery man were crouching. When Karen first hung up

(08:24):
with Clint, she immediately called nine one one, but this
call was answered in another county. Karen's school was in
the next county over, so her original nine one one
call was routed and answered there, and this definitely delayed
police response to the home, and police wouldn't arrive at
the Bobo home until over ten minutes after the first call.

(08:47):
Karen also called her husband and they both left work
and hurried back to their house to meet the police. There,
police and honestly the entire county jumped into action right away.
There were crews of people all over on horseback ATVs,
on foot, helicopters.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
You name it.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
The police force and community stopped at nothing to hopefully
find something out of the ordinary. One of the first
things police wanted to do was to talk to neighbors
to see if they heard or saw anything that morning.
One neighbor, John bab was getting out to the lake
to do some fishing around seven thirty am when he

(09:28):
heard what he described as a screech or a squall
coming from the Bobo yard. John said the sound was
similar to cats fighting. He also reported that he saw
a white truck speeding down the road that the Bobos
live on. Another neighbor named James Barnes, who lived next
door to the Bobos literally seven hundred feet away, said

(09:50):
he heard screaming coming from the Bobo yard around seven
fifty am. James said he had heard a female voice
yelling and pleading for the other person in the conversation
to stop. James and his girlfriend were concerned enough about
the screaming that when they left that morning, they stopped
at the end of the Bobo driveway with their windows

(10:10):
down to see if they hurt anything else. When they
didn't hear anything, they continued on their way, but decided
to call Karen to check in and make sure everything
was okay. It's unclear if they got a hold of Karen,
since at this time Clint was already awake and the
police had been called. The other thing police prioritized was

(10:30):
getting a tracker on Holly's phone through AT and T.

Speaker 3 (10:35):
Now.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
This was successful at first, but the phone was quickly
turned off and abandoned. For about ninety minutes, Holly's phone
was moving all around Decatur County. Police saw her phone
go through her yard, down the trail north on Interstate forty,
and then turned around and headed south down a different route.

(10:56):
By nine am, Holly's phone had stopped moving. The leaves
they were taking very quickly came to dead ends. Police
also investigated Clint, since he and Holly were home alone
at the time of her disappearance, he could have been
making up the whole interaction with Holly and the mystery
man in the garage.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
Police questioned him.

Speaker 2 (11:16):
And searched his body for any signs of struggle or
fight that day the day of her disappearance, but nothing
was found. They also made Clint take a polygraph test,
not once but twice, and searched his phone and computer,
all coming up empty handed. Holly's phone was found near
the area last pinged. Search crews also found her homework, notes, underwear,

(11:39):
and lunch box, and various places around to Cator County,
but still no real leads. At this point the investigation,
the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation was leading the case and
they had a man named Terry Dykas as the head
of this Now Terry Dykas felt very very very strongly

(12:00):
that a local rapist and kidnapper was responsible for Holly's disappearance,
and this man's name was Terry Britt. Now, this Terry
Britt character had quite the track record. He was a
local sex offender who had already spent most of his
life in and out of prison for kidnapping and rape.
Terry Britt lived close to the Bobo home and where

(12:23):
some of Holly's stuff was found thrown on the sides
of different roads. Terry Britt also matched the description of
the man that Clint gave, which was a man about
five ten two hundred pounds. TBI agent Terry Dykas was
hitting Terry Britt hard. Terry Britt provided TBI with an alibi.

(12:44):
He said that he was buying a new bathtub from
a salvage yard with his wife that morning, but neither
the yard nor Terry Britt had a receipt for proof
of sale. Still, agent Terry Dykas just had a gut
feeling that Terry Britt was their guy. Terry Britt's alibi
was never able to be officially confirmed, and Agent Terry

(13:06):
Dykis did some more digging on where his wife potentially
was that morning. When police arrived at the brit home
on April thirteenth, twenty eleven, both Terry and his wife
were unloading said bathtub from their truck. However, apparently his
wife was at work that morning. Terry Britt called her
and asked her to come home and told her that

(13:28):
if anyone asked say that she was with him all morning,
it's a real peach, of course. Search warrants were obtained
for the brit home and cadaver dogs went to the
property as well. Even though the dogs signaled at two
different spots and several items were taken from the home,
no DNA was found linking Terry Britt to Holly. Agents

(13:52):
even went as far to wiretap Terry Britt's home and
his phone in hopes to find out any information. While
Terry Britt didn't say anything during the time that would
incriminate him further, the audio that was captured was incredibly disturbing.
At one point, Terry Britt actually went on to fantasize

(14:14):
who Holly's real kidnapper was and what they did to her. Really, yeah,
so one of his buddy whoever talks about Yes, if
you're a rapist, you're friends with other rapists, so yes,
right pig. When Terry Britt testified in twenty seventeen, he
claimed that he had never met or heard of the

(14:36):
Bobo family until after the news broke about Holly's disappearance.
Terry Britt said that he found out about the missing
girl because after the Amber alert went out, a previous
wife of Terry's called him basically to see if he
was involved or did it, and he told her he
didn't rape anyone this time this time just to visualize

(15:01):
how he's trying to maybe, Hey, look my ex called
and I told her this, So there you go. I
didn't do it because I told her I didn't rape her,
and she called to see you again.

Speaker 3 (15:14):
Fine, I mean I did not this time.

Speaker 1 (15:17):
No me this time girl.

Speaker 3 (15:19):
The rest your head x yeah, pig.

Speaker 2 (15:22):
Police were really going back and forth on Terry Britt.
Interestingly enough, a woman named Lisa Sanders had actually come
forward back in twenty eleven and said that on the
morning of April thirteenth, she was taking her children to
school when she saw a man with black hair, a mustache,
and wearing camel driving a tan truck. He looked suspicious

(15:46):
and it appeared to her that he was attempting to
hide a potential passenger in his car. Two to three
days later, Lisa said she saw the same man again,
this time on a four wheeler. She said that there
was a white on the back of the four wheeler
and Lisa decided to follow the man to a nearby cemetery,

(16:06):
and when she got there, the man and the box
were somewhere within the woods behind the cemetery. Lisa ended
up telling her friend Bonnie Ham, and Bonnie called the
Information hotline. Lisa saw this guy again a few days
later at the grocery store and just had that gut
feeling that something was off with him. She then saw

(16:27):
Terry Britt on the news and confirmed that that was
the man she had been seeing since the morning of
April thirteenth. Lisa would never end up taking the stand
in this trial, although she was potentially a key witness. Now,
Terry Britt claimed that he had never heard or met
any of the Bobo members, but he actually had met

(16:47):
a Bobo family member before. Terry Britt had met Natalie Bobo,
Holly's cousin.

Speaker 3 (16:53):
At a party.

Speaker 2 (16:54):
Apparently at this party, Terry Britt was being such an
annoying dickhead that he had offended Natalie multiple times throughout
the evening that the guy whose house it was had
to ask him to leave. It's obvious that Terry Britt
really is up to no good in general and isn't
a very good person. And while police were looking heavily

(17:17):
at Terry Britt, the case was otherwise going kind of cold. Now,
nearly two years after Holly disappeared, her family still didn't
have answers, and her mom, Karen, was growing desperate to
know what happened to her daughter, and she decided to
take matters into her own hands. Karen contacted a local

(17:37):
private investigator named Shila Waisaki. Sheila became well known in
the area for solving her roommate's twenty year old cold case.

Speaker 3 (17:46):
Murder.

Speaker 2 (17:47):
When Karen saw Sheila on the news, she reached out
to see if she could help solve her daughter's case.
Sheila and her nonprofit called Without Warning, were made up
of two private investies gators, two retired homicide detectives, and paralegal.
They worked Holly's case for free and really cracked the

(18:08):
thing wide open. Sheila and her team gathered all the
information that the Bobos had been putting together over the
previous eighteen months, tips, interviews, handwritten notes. By the time
Halloween rolled around in twenty twelve, Sheila and her team
had a prime suspect and his name was Shane Austen.

(18:30):
Shane Austen's name had been brought up early in the
investigation by police and TBI agents. About a week after
Holly disappeared, TBI agents were at the Austin property looking
for any connection between him and Holly. A little bit
about Shane's history. Shane struggled with addiction most of his life.

(18:51):
When he was a sophomore in high school, he injured
his shoulder playing football and was prescribed opioids to help
with the pain. That was when his battle with addiction began.
And that's such a hot time, you know, the turn
from two thousand until about this time. Really, Shane's parents
described the first time that Shane and Holly had kind

(19:12):
of unofficially met, more like crossed paths. Both Shane and
Holly were at a local raccoon hunting festival.

Speaker 1 (19:19):
Oh how fun raccoon hunting.

Speaker 3 (19:22):
Raccoon hunting festival. Nice.

Speaker 2 (19:26):
According to witnesses and just friends and family of both
Shane and Holly, Shane basically followed Holly.

Speaker 3 (19:33):
Around that night like a stalker.

Speaker 2 (19:35):
Now this was just a rumor, but even his parents
heard that that evening he was even trying to take
pictures of Holly on his phone. Shane's mother recalled that
she didn't know what to believe because Shane had a
flip phone and she wasn't sure how he would have
been able to do that. But I'm sure she's a
bit biased because so many different people reported hearing and

(19:58):
or seeing Shane themselves. So when agents went to the
Austin property, they were unable to find any evidence that
connected Holly to Shane. Now, it's important to note that
in those first days of Holly's disappearance, the TBI was
absolutely overwhelmed with tips and information that was pouring in,

(20:20):
not to mention the extensive search that was taking place
in hopes to find her alive. So what did Sheila
and her team find on Shane Austen. The PI team
thought that Shane was the prime suspect and he worked
with his three friends, Zach Adams, Dylan Adams, and Jason Autrey.

(20:41):
We know that TBI agents had been investigating Shane, and
the PI team also knew that these four boys used
each other as their alibi, which was a red flag. Karen,
Sheila and the rest of the BOBO team decided that
they were going to release the information they had to
the public in the hopes that TBI agents would take

(21:03):
them more seriously, but TBI didn't. In fact, TBI went
on to publicly fight against the BOBO team, saying that
their private investigation was detrimental to the case. And the
now two years that Holly has been missing and there
has been basically no progress in her case, TBI had

(21:23):
completely stopped looking into Shane and his crew, and they
were still completely focused on Terry Britt If you remember
the name of that lead investigator, Terry Dykas. He actually
said that he stopped investigating those idiots, referring to Shane, Zach,
Dillon and Jason because it was a waste of his time.

(21:45):
Terry Dykas went on to actually be removed from the
case because he had tunnel vision on Terry Britt and
the case was going cold. Now, even what Sheila and
her team found, there was no hard evidence. They were
just pieces together. For this to stand up in court,
they would need more. And mind you, they still had

(22:06):
not found Holly's body. That was until September twenty fourteen.
Two gen Seng hunters were out in a wooded area
in northern Tennessee, about twenty miles north of Darden when
one of them overturned a bucket to reveal a human skull.
For quick background, a Gensing hunter is someone who searches

(22:26):
or forages for wild American gin sing, which is a
plant that is widely known for its Chinese medicinal benefits
aiding in digestion, energy boosts, and other things.

Speaker 1 (22:37):
I say a Gensing hunter, but I was like, Okay,
I'm gonna let you keep going, because I was like,
what the fuck is that?

Speaker 2 (22:45):
When I was going over, I was like, a Gensing
that's a China, that's a Chinese herb. But apparently we
have our own svc's here in America. Nice the hunter
quickly turned around in shock after finding the skull and
notice more bones spread out around the area. They recovered

(23:06):
Holly's skull, several ribs, one shoulder blade, and the back
of holly skull was a bullet hole that entered from
the right side and traveled through her head and exited
out through her left cheekbone. Now we have a body,
and police were determined to get the people behind bars
that did this. Interestingly enough, the land that Holly's body

(23:28):
was found on was owned by someone in the Adams family.
Now let's go back to Shane Austen. Apparently, someone in
Darden County Lockup who was looking to cut a deal
with police for their own crimes threw out the name
Zach Adams and that they knew Zach Adams was the kidnapper.
Police wanted to get close to Zach, so they set

(23:51):
up a plan. They were going to arrest Zack's brother,
Dylan Adams for a weapons charge he had against him already,
and then turned the interrogation toward Holly Bobo and see
what he do. Their plan worked, and Dylan told police
back in twenty eleven, he went over to his brother's house,
where he found Holly sitting in a chair in just

(24:14):
a pink T shirt. Zach then told Dylan that he
had raped Holly and videotaped it. Dylan also placed another
accomplice at Zach's house, a man named Jason Autry, and
based on this information, police arrested both men and brought
them in. The alleged video of the rape was never found.
Phone records that police obtained from Jason showed that Shane

(24:37):
and Jason spoke on the phone multiple times the day
that Holly was kidnapped. There were other phone records for
the four main men involved, but none of these gave
exact locations. It was only the last cell tower that
the phones pinged from. Right away, police offered Shane a
full immunity deal in return for test against Zach and

(25:01):
leading them to Holly's body.

Speaker 3 (25:04):
Mind you, all of this is.

Speaker 2 (25:05):
Happening in early twenty fourteen, They still hadn't found Holly's
body yet, so, unfortunately for Shane, this immunity offer was
revoked because he was either unable to or unwilling to
lead police to the body. Shane ended up being pretty
useless in general, as he couldn't provide any information and

(25:28):
any information he did provide was proven to be a fabrication.
Once the immunity offer was revoked, police shifted their approach
towards Shane and actually spent a decent amount of time
trying to file murder charges against him. Other than that
confession from Dylan, police didn't have anything, and that was

(25:49):
clear when they were parading Dylan's confession and comments through
the media but being very secretive about any other potential
evidence they had. And that's because they literally didn't have any. Now,
let's think back to what Clint, Holly's brother had originally
reported about the attacker he saw in the garage. He
said that it was a man who was probably around

(26:11):
two hundred pounds five ten to six feet tall. Both
Zack and Jason were out right off the bat. Jason
was six' eight three hundred. Pounds zack was heavily addicted
to meth at the, time making him far too, skinny
and on top of, that he's six.' five so we
got a chubby and a, sinewy, guy right not your

(26:34):
average six foot putting either of them at the scene is.
A stretch the only one who would potentially fit The
description clint Gave, is dylan and there was also a
single croc footprint at, the Scene and dylan did Report
that zach was wearing green crocks when he got to
his house later, that day but still investigators are unsure

(26:57):
if that krock footprint is. Even related another weird thing
that happened was a statement made by a Woman Named.
Sandra king sandra came forward and told police that Her
Friend jeff Percy Or, jeff piercy showed her a video
of a woman being tied up. And raped sandra claimed
that the Woman Resembled. Holly bobo sandra said that the

(27:20):
woman was crying in the video and while she didn't watch.

Speaker 3 (27:23):
It long enough to see the, actual rape she knew
that it.

Speaker 2 (27:27):
Was, coming next when police staged a phone Call with Sandra,
and jeff it.

Speaker 3 (27:32):
Was revealed That actually Jeff's brother mark was the one
in the video and he had got it. From.

Speaker 2 (27:38):
Him wow police officers would have literally sold their souls
to get their hands on, that video but it was.
Never recovered police were never even able to find a
connection between the original group of men And the piercy
brothers and the Investigation against Jeff and mark and there

(28:01):
just to paint a picture of the lack of evidence
and organization they had surrounding. This case let's talk about
the mistakes that. Were made first, of all when it
was time to have a Hearing for mark surrounding, the
video the prosecutor literally forgot To have mark transferred to
the courthouse and they had to reschedule. The hearing the
prosecutor was also going in circles with dropping And, Charging,

(28:24):
shane Dylan. And zach they continued to fail to turn
over evidence that they claimed. To have prosecutors literally said
fuck it and decided to arrest And, Charge, shane Zach
and dylan of, aggravated kidnapping first, degree murder and Rape
in march of. Twenty fourteen now remember this is before

(28:46):
they found any Remains, of holly so this is truly a.

Speaker 3 (28:50):
Witch hunt now let's.

Speaker 2 (28:52):
Fast Forward in september, twenty fourteen They found. Holly's remains
shane was still maintaining and fighting. For innocence after prosecutors
revoked his. Immunity agreement Shane's Lawyer luke evans spoke Out
that shane continued to give his full cooperation to the
investigation and that he is torn up that he's being

(29:15):
lomped into a group that potentially did Something, to holly
all because of a few.

Speaker 3 (29:20):
Phone calls luke.

Speaker 2 (29:22):
Stated that he felt that the prosecution was allowing the
rumor mill to drive. This, case Sadly on february, twenty third,
Twenty fifteen shane committed suicide In the florida. Motel room
shane's family was absolutely devastated by the loss of, their
son and at this point it really Seemed that shane

(29:43):
was coerced by police into giving Information about holly's kidnapping
when he didn't actually know anything. About it when comparing
the little facts that the police Had to, shane's story
things did not. Add, up additionally the only thing that
actually Had connected Shane to zach was that they spoke
on the phone multiple times. That Day if shane Was

(30:06):
with zack while he was Disposing of, holly's body why
would they be calling. Each other the state was never
able To corroborate shane's involvement in, the case and his
family has stated that they hope people remember him for
who he really was and not for some potential involvement in.
This case prosecutors continued to shovel their feet when it

(30:28):
came time to getting this. Case rolling after the Suicide,
of shane it took seven Months Before zach adams was
Tried for holly's Murder in september of. Twenty seventeen jason
was the star Witness in. Zach's case Remember that jason
was the fourth man who police put at the scene
The day holly was kidnapped. And murdered Similar, To shane

(30:51):
jason was offered leniency for his cooperation. And testimony Actually
bringing jason to the stand was a shock for the
defense and he ended up being on the stand for
over seven hours. Wow grueling jason would go into detail
about how he had been Friends with zach for over

(31:11):
fifteen years and that He and shane were. Actually cousins in,
Twenty eleven jason was working on a cattle farm and
although he had, a girlfriend their relationship was put on
the Outs because jason had a troubled past and it
was putting her children in. Dangerous situations jason recalled That on,

(31:31):
april twelfth, twenty eleven he went To see zach because
he was looking for drugs and when he first Spoke,
To zach zach said that he was busy and he
would call. Him later at around nine, Thirty am Zach
called jason back and told him that they needed Help at.
Shane's house jason assumed that they needed help cooking up.

(31:52):
Some meth So when jason Arrived at, shane's house there
were a few things he. Initially noticed there was a
fire burning out front in, A barrel dylan was in
the doorway to the, trailer Shirtless and zach was in
the yard with a gun tucked in. His pants jason
bought a Pill, from shane took half, of it and
then went back to stand in the yard Near where zack.

(32:14):
Was standing zack Then told jason that he needed help hiding.
A body jason told the Court that dylan never came
out of the Trailer and shane was putting stuff into
the fire in, the barrel and that it smelled like
a burning.

Speaker 3 (32:29):
Meth lab jason Then.

Speaker 2 (32:31):
Told zack he would help him dispose of the body
if he could just move his, car first so. He
did after moving, His car jason Jumped into zach's Truck
with holly's body in, the bed wrapped in. A blanket
the men then drove out to an area near a
boat dock about thirty forty feet away FROM the i.

(32:51):
Forty bridge According, to jason the two of the men
got out of the truck And moved holly's body from
the bed to, the ground and That's when jason noticed
that she was still moving and Said to zack that
the bitch was. Still alive zach then went back to,
the car grabbed, his pistol and. Came back jason did

(33:12):
a quick walk around to make sure the coast, was
clear and Then signaled zack he was. All good jason
recalled that he heard the gun go off one time
and that it echoed.

Speaker 3 (33:21):
UNDER the i.

Speaker 2 (33:22):
Forty bridge jason then said he heard a boat coming
and took. Off running the men Quickly packed holly's body
back up into the truck and. Sped off jason remembered
Saying to zach that he needed to slow down and
drive better because if anyone heard that, gun shot police
might pull them over for. Driving suspiciously after, this incident in,

(33:42):
The morning jason said that he went up to meet
his girlfriend for lunch and that he was just wanted
to get as far Away from zach and the others. As,
possible now this didn't last, very long because around two pm,
That day Jason called, shane again hoping to get another pill,
from him and this time when he, Pulled up zack's
truck was nowhere to, be seen and he could tell

(34:05):
that the three men had been fighting. About something all
five of them climbed into another truck and drove to
the house of a Woman named dotty to pick up.
More drugs the plug apparently body. The plug jason recalled
that the arguing ensued between the. Four men shane was
Yelling at zach that he didn't have To, kill Holly

(34:28):
and zack yelled back that he was just as much
to blame. As him at, This point zach implied that
both He and shane Had, raped holly and after picking up,
The drugs jason did Not, See, zach Dylan or shane
again for two. More days jason met Up with Zack
and dylan again two days later in a wooded area
Near a marathon gas STATION off. I forty shane was

(34:50):
not with them at, the time and This time jason brought.
The drugs he brought an entire marijuana plant that needed to.
Be trimmed now if you know nothing. About, Weed basically
jason has cut the base of the.

Speaker 3 (35:03):
Plant and brought an entire stem of.

Speaker 2 (35:05):
Flowered weed the guys would need to pick off or
trim off the parts of the plant that they were
actually going. To smoke jason recalled that during this meet
Up with Zach, and dylan He asked zak what he
did with, the body To which zach Replied that dylan
wouldn't shut up about the. Whole situation Now what i'm

(35:26):
about to, Say next jason only told the judge and
the jury didn't, hear this But apparently zak Then asked
jason To kill dylan because he was worried about him
spilling the beans. To somebody the jury never heard this
information because the defense argued that it was irrelevant to.
The trial jason said that he Originally declined, zack's offer

(35:49):
but later devised a plan in his own mind of
how he would do it if he were to. Do
it after this, Last encounter jason did not see or Talk, To,
zach Dylan or shane.

Speaker 3 (36:01):
For months it.

Speaker 2 (36:02):
Wasn't until august of twenty Twelve that Jason saw zach
when the pair went, deer hunting and on this deer,
Hunting trip jason Said that zach finally told the. Whole
story According, To jason zach told him that on the
Morning of, april twelfth, twenty eleven he was At The
bobo house because he planned To teach Holly's, brother clint

(36:25):
how to. Cook meth upon arriving at, The house holly
came out yelling, and screaming so they decided to. Kidnap
her zach Then told Jason, that dylan his, own brother
performed oral sex on Him and shane prior to Him
and shane Both.

Speaker 3 (36:42):
Raping holly jason said that he was so disturbed.

Speaker 2 (36:46):
By the Information that zach had Shared and zach, could
tell so he quickly changed the subject and they didn't
speak of. It Again so, zach says my brother bluebe
and my friend before we raised.

Speaker 3 (37:00):
This girl and you.

Speaker 2 (37:01):
See the person you're telling's, face change and how you're
going to change this?

Speaker 3 (37:05):
WHOLE, lot TMI?

Speaker 1 (37:07):
Little, tmi SORRY should i have not? Said that, oh.

Speaker 3 (37:10):
Yeah you want to.

Speaker 2 (37:11):
Get McDonald's so during, cross examination the defense talked a
Lot about jason's.

Speaker 3 (37:19):
Drug use let's not forget here that all four of.

Speaker 2 (37:22):
These, Men, Shane, zach Dylan and jason are all heavy
drug users and at this time their world really revolves around.
Getting high jason told the court during cross examination that
and admitted his wrong, his lies told, the truth and
he does hope for leniency from the state when. Sentencing

(37:46):
comes he says. All this And while jason was the,
star witness there were many other witnesses who testified during.
This trial one of Those was zach's now, Ex Girlfriend.
Rebecca irp the overall Energy from rebecca was just. Not
good she described her Relationship with zack in twenty eleven as.
Absolutely awful she recalled multiple times that she attempted to

(38:10):
break Up with zach and he became threatening and sometimes violent.
Towards her rebecca said that the Night before, Holly disappeared
zach never went. To bed he woke her up around
six thirty in the morning and told her he was
going off to. Haul scrap she got up and went,
to work and a few Hours later zach came up to.
Her work the bear started, fighting again and she recalled

(38:33):
accusing him of cheating on her because he now had
His brother.

Speaker 3 (38:38):
Dylan's phone rebecca said.

Speaker 2 (38:40):
That the next day she was making Dinner at zach's house, For,
him Dylan and shane when the.

Speaker 3 (38:46):
News started Talking. About holly rebecca Said.

Speaker 2 (38:49):
That Zack and shane smirked at, each other saying that
they'll never be able to. Find her rebecca also recalled
other Times that zach was violent, with her sometimes tying,
her up and she'd fear for. Her life like, The
others rebecca admitted to using heavy drugs at the time
and that was why her story changed a. FEW times
a few of the other people who Testified Were tony

(39:12):
Webber And. Lawrence James tony weber was the deputy sheriff
at the time who was one of the first to
respond to the scene At The. Bobo house tony's testimony
was critical to add a timeline for what had happened
during the initial moments of. The investigation tony said that
while at, the home he Spoke. To clint he also

(39:33):
remembered taking photos of a spot of blood that was
left in, the garage but never went into. The home
after Leaving The, Bobo home tony and the other deputies went.

Speaker 3 (39:43):
To visit the home of local.

Speaker 2 (39:46):
Sex offenders tony said that he did not file the
missing persons report until a day or two later after the.
Initial call tony also never went into the woods or
even the Direction that Clint saw holly walking off with
this mystery, Man Now matthew james WAS a. Tbi specialist
he was also one of the initial investigators on.

Speaker 3 (40:07):
The scene his job was.

Speaker 2 (40:08):
To collect as much FORENSICS in dna. As possible matthew
stated that he did receive a Pair of holly's underwear
from the scene to use AS a.

Speaker 3 (40:18):
Dna reference he also reviewed photos from.

Speaker 2 (40:21):
The scene the Trunk to holly's car was open and
there was about fifty to sixty drops of blood in.
The garage of all, of those there was one that
stood out above, the others and that one was a
spot that was more of a sneer than. A drop
they matched the blood AGAINST the dna from the underwear
and got a partial Match. For holly while all of

(40:43):
this was happening in, real life police were hearing Whispers
Of zach. Adams's name police Actually knew zach well because
of his past run ins with. The law once officers
arrived at his house literally The day holly, went missing
they recalled him being, super nervous. Literally shaking the officers

(41:04):
who visited the house that day Said that zach was
acting so suspicious that when, he left he pulled off
into a hidden area to watch. The home zack frantically
ran into, the house and, shortly later another man left,
the home jumped into a, pickup truck and. Sped off
this truck was later pulled over and it was confirmed

(41:26):
that that Person. Was dylan the, next day when officers
returned to, The home zack had a mattress that was
in perfectly good condition leaned up against the outside of.
The house this was something that just gave officers a
bad feeling in.

Speaker 3 (41:41):
Their guts zack also had scratches.

Speaker 2 (41:43):
On his arms and legs the day after. The crime
so what the hell came after? This clusterfuck shane is
now dead and all that's Left, Is, zach Dylan. And
Jason zach adams was convicted of first, degree, murder kidnapping,
and rape and he was sentenced to fifty plus years.
In Prison dylan adams was convicted of facilitation of murder

(42:07):
and was sentenced to thirty five years. In Prison jason
autry was convicted of solicitation of murder and facilitation of especially,
aggravated assault and was sentenced to nine years, in prison
but was justice. Actually found jason has since been released
and has had a few things to say about his, initial,

(42:28):
conviction confession all. Of it now we are fast approaching
to the, present day. Well Almost it's, september sixteenth, twenty
Twenty and jason is released, from jail and since then
he has been recanting his testimony in. Various confessions, jason
claimed now nearly ten, years later that he made up

(42:50):
the entire thing to avoid life.

Speaker 3 (42:52):
In prison jason was.

Speaker 2 (42:54):
Already in jail on unrelated charges during the time that
the Case against Zach and dillon was. Being built jason
said that during that time, in jail he concocted the
whole story using discovery evidence that was being provided. To
him he especially said that he used the cell phone
records to help him create his story. And timeline zach's

(43:17):
lawyers have filed petitions multiple times to get a new
trial with, this information but these have. Been denied courts
have stated that in Order for zak to get a,
new trial he must present. New evidence in, this case
he really doesn't have, new evidence just an entire testimony
from a friend that was. Complete fabrication whether or not

(43:40):
you think this group of men was responsible for, The
Crime holly bobo's family are the ones who will have
to live with the pain knowing that their daughter and
sister were taken from them in a violent way and way.
Too Soon once holly's remains, were found her family was
able to close parts part of. That chapter holly was

(44:02):
Buried At laffarty Cemetery In, darden County and holly's friends
and family remember the girl who was a dedicated. Nursing
student Friends remembered holly never in trouble in middle school and,
high school one friend describing her as a stickler for.
The rules she was loyal to her faith and friend

(44:22):
and really lived a Life. Through god she enjoyed listening
to and singing gospel music at. Her church holly's friends
and families continue to tell her story and keep her
light shining in.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
