(00:00):
My name is Steve Marvel, andthis is the crucial survival
podcast.
Sometimeswe need somebody else to tell us
what's going on because there'sa problem.
Sometimes is a bloody goodreason. Sometimes there's a
(00:21):
medical reason specifically.
However, this example does nothave a medical reason.
So last few videos, my camerasbellary, like a good few videos.
I don't watch them back, becauseI've got to my media guy is a
(00:43):
awesome chap. He, he, he doesthem. So
he says, Steve, the blurry arewashed out. And there's only
todayI look and they say, Oh, yeah,
it's washed out. And he says, that's all I said. And it's
like, Yes, you did. You'reabsolutely right, you did.
(01:09):
And I didn't list.
And there's probably a bloodygood reason for that. And so
I've worked out, then I'veworked out what it is, which is
nice. But it certainly tooksomebody doing this for me,
telling me, for me to actuallyrecord recognize this something
(01:31):
was wrong, or just cast my eyesover it.
Something that happens in asurvival situation, or in fact,
just a survival course, is thepeople get medically fucked up.
That could, there's a number ofthings that go wrong with
(01:53):
people. They are in courses andin personal situations, they are
dehydrated, they aremalnourished, they are fatigued,
sleep deprived, stressed,or cold, or hot. But generally
speaking, we have cold coursesin the UK, it's never really a
(02:13):
hot cause.
Pretty much all of theseconditions affect your brain.
And consequently, you get withlike you're drunk, you get all
mumbly, you get allangry sometimes.
(02:36):
Even if he told you get angryabout it. And then you get fully
over stumbly and then basicallyfalsely fall over and sometimes
in a really, really bad way.
But the point is these symptomsexist, and you don't recognize
(02:58):
them. And in fact you deny them.
And that's really, really bad.
And it what it does is itrequires you to have somebody
else tell youwhat's going on. When I started
survival goals. I I said topeople, at some point on this
course, you won't have done whatyou're told. And I will tell you
(03:26):
what to do. And I need you to doit. So simply find notice that
somebody is dehydrated on on acourse I will tell them exactly
what to do. Because chances arethey're all spinning and don't
know what's going on. Andthey're not noticed it in
themselves. nobody else'sgot the plug to go and tell them
(03:47):
that they may they need help.
And thereforeI have to do it. And hopefully
they don't have an argumentabout it. If I've had in like 10
years, I don't think I've hadanybody get really angry about
it. I've had people be objectsthem though, but I've never had
(04:10):
anybody go really ballistic atit, which is nice, obviously.
But it is always the case thatthings turn out all right. And
so in summary, people need help, because they
won't recognize things inthemselves. And they won't
(04:36):
necessarily listen. If you're ina situation where somebody is
suffering.
There's a good chance that theycan't recognize it in
themselves. And they need help.
And you need to have the ballsto tell them and you need to
have the balls to support that.
(05:00):
If they're going to deny it,because quite often, if they're
not recognizing a symptom inthemselves, they're going to get
RCW about it. So, bigger person, help people that need it. And
any comments, any stories, anything else you want me to
(05:20):
address? pop it in the comments.
See you tomorrow.
