Good morning, all!
Is new Pope Leo IVX a Cubs fan? The first-ever Pope from the United States was born in Chicago and various media sites are proclaiming he was a Cubs fan, but his brother isn’t buying it.
But why would he chose Leo? Maybe it was after Leo Durocher, the Cubs manager, who brought the morbid franchise back into contention in the late 1960’s, at about the time the 69-year-old pope was a teenager.
If you ask me, it’s the last place White Sox who need more divine intervention than the first place Cubs, but the north side Cubbies really gained attention, after the College of Cardinals elected Cardinal Robert Prevost to lead the Roman Catholic church. That in itself, by the way, is ironic: that the cardinals would install a Cubs fan as pope; after all, the Chicago Cubs arch rivals are the Cardinals from St. Louis. Maybe he really is a White Sox fan.
