¿Ayudar es siempre algo bueno? ¿Qué pasa cuando, detrás de nuestras buenas intenciones, se esconde una necesidad de control, culpa o reconocimiento?
En este episodio reflexiono profundamente sobre el sentido real de la ayuda y por qué no siempre lo que damos es recibido como creemos.
Inspirado en una vivencia personal y en la figura silenciosa de quienes ayudan sin esperar nada a cambio, me detengo en preguntas esenciales:
→ ¿Ayudamos para aliviar al otro o para aliviarnos?
→ ¿Estamos siendo empáticos o paternalistas?
→ ¿Cómo distinguir entre acompañar y sobreproteger?
Además, converso con Édgar Picón-Prado, quien lideró el programa Ingreso Solidario durante la pandemia en Colombia. Su experiencia permite iluminar los dilemas éticos de la ayuda institucional, las políticas públicas y los retos de construir apoyo real sin generar dependencia.
En el segmento El Extratiempo, la voz serena de Juan Fernando Pérez nos ofrece una hermosa metáfora sobre la autenticidad y el valor de ser uno mismo, incluso si eso no gusta a todos. A veces, ayudar simplemente significa quedarse, sin imponer, sin corregir, sin salvar.
Este episodio no es una guía para ayudar “mejor”, ni una crítica directa al voluntariado o al servicio social. Es una reflexión emocional y filosófica sobre cómo vivir la ayuda con más humildad, más escucha y menos protagonismo.
Porque a veces, el acto más generoso no es hacer, sino estar. No resolver, sino confiar.
