Destigmatize Mental Health Podcast

For this episode, I have invited Dr. Ryan Prichard & Dr. Samantha Hill with Maluhia Therapy Services to talk about their practice, facts, and myths surrounding mental health, and how to destigmatize seeking therapeutic services. 

In honor of Black History Month (but being black is beautiful 365, don't need a month), I have invited Desiray Sumlin, Air Force Technical Sargent Garyn Henderson, and previous Destigmatize Mental Health Podcast guest Anthony Hannah to represent the culture, promote positivity, mental health awareness, and wellness to the black community.

Youth 2 Leaders Education Foundation (Y2L) Executive Director Gabriel Adame as well as Y2L’s Education Foundation Program Coordinator Fellows Paola Caballero & Tizoc Valdez join to help destigmatize pursuing higher education. 

For this episode, we are highlighting National Recovery Month with Executive Director Gilbert Laroque & my first reinvited guest ⁠, Charlie Van De Voorde⁠ , both staff at Bakersfield Recovery Services.

For this episode, I invited Mao Granada. Mao is the owner & co-founder of Mango Haus in Bakersfield, California. We talk about his restaurant, how his upbringing contributed to a healthy lifestyle, and his point of view on why it’s essential to destigmatize eating healthy and even being vegan. Mao will also give us some tips and tricks for anyone considering opening a plant-based business.

For this episode, I invited Javier Dominguez and two hosts of Bad Neighbor Comedy, Anthony Jauregui, & Marcos Alvarez, comedians from Bakersfield who agreed to come on Destigmatize to talk about what it takes to be a comedian. On top of that, they agreed to share some of their struggles, including balancing their day-to-day jobs, their sets, and so much more.
