Brett (00:01):
And welcome to a new episode of Digital Coffee Gaming Brew,
and I'm your host, Brett Deister.
If you please subscribe to this podcaston all your favorite podcasting you
have, so you have a five star review, really does help with the rankings.
Let me know how I'm doing.
But this week me talking about Ho WarsLegacy Immortals of Ian, apparently they

(00:23):
removed something from that, which Idon't know, like anybody plays anymore.
Also metal gear, solid Delta SnakeEater, and the updates on that one
Civilization six seven is out andI'll tell you my reaction to it,
plus with what actually is going on.
Paradox actually bought a gamestudio, so it should be interesting

(00:45):
to see what goes on with that one.
And Nvidia g four's,RTX 50, 80, even 50 90.
They're already raising prices and itapparently was a paper launch and also
the A MD Ryzen 9,800 x 3D, what's goingon with that and also EA and not learning
is lessons from Dragon Age, the Veil guardand why they are completely useless about

(01:11):
what's going on with their actual game.
Battlefield actually was a, was.
Teased in a way announced BattlefieldLabs specifically, but we will
talk about a little bit about thatand then and then Kingdom Come
Deliverance Two, it actually came out.
So my reactions and why I'm actuallynot playing it and the talking about

(01:33):
the USAID issue in gaming and whyit actually matters, because it
seems like we've been lied to from.
Every walk of life and it looks like it.
It's pretty bad.
It's not gonna lie.
It's really bad.
Anyways, let's get on with the show.

(02:05):
That's good.
All right, so Hogwarts legacy is reportedgetting a new content and a sequel.
So it did very well when it actually,if it was first released, there was
a lot of controversy, which was funnywhen there was controversy, 'cause they
said it wasn't woke enough or whatever.
But then they had a transgendercharacter in it, and then

(02:25):
it actually was fun to play.
And so it actually did really wellbecause the controversy kind of made
it do well because everybody was like, there's nothing wrong with this game.
Now Avalanche Studios is goingto be making new content and
new and a new game for this onebecause it actually did so well.
It's actually a fungame for the most part.
I'm not really excited aboutthe transgender person.

(02:47):
I think next one, they shouldjust leave it out because we're
just tired of it, so they, if theydon't, it probably won't sell well.
But it seems like the game hasbeen stuck in this like Halloween
forever and they just didn'treally remove any of the stuff.
So it's funny, but allin all, it's a good game.
I all for getting it morecontent in a new game because

(03:10):
it was just a really fun game.
If you love Hogwarts, if you loveHarry Potter on those books, it was
a fun game to actually be a wizard in
moving on to, I mortals of Evian, the game that was supposed to be like
the call duty of magic, that didn'treally quite hit its strides and there

(03:31):
were a lot of pacing issues with it,which didn't really make much sense.
It slowed you down butmade you wanna switch.
But there were issues.
It was a, it was fine but not great.
It was one of those games where, andit needed more time and development.
They actually just need more time inideation phase and figuring out what
was in development phase to figureout what was actually going out.

(03:53):
But I think they ran outta time andmoney, so they just released it as it was.
But they're, they are removingde novo, which every gamer hates
because it does slow down games, even though de Novo's no, it doesn't.
Everybody.
Gabriel was like, yeah, it does.
And they were finally removing it.
After a few years of being released, they're finally removing it.

(04:17):
Moving on to metal gear, solidDelta Snake Eater, the remake of
the original Modern Metal gear.
Solid three.
Basically what it was, it is finallycoming out this year in August, so you
have time to wait, but we're finallygoing to get this actual remake as.

(04:41):
It's gonna be on PC obviously, because no gaming development
is going to actually do that.
But we'll see.
We'll see how it is.
And moving on to Civilization seven.
So I actually did get this one.

(05:03):
I love Civilization.
I love, I just love, and plus youcan play it on Steam deck, which
is a huge bonus 'cause I just love.
I'm not on my pc, justuse my steam deck instead.
I'm enjoying it, but a lot of gamersaren't enjoying it because of issues.
And there are some issues thatI've had with it, but it's
nothing like game breaking for me.
It runs really well.
I've played it for severalhours on my steam deck.

(05:27):
It is never crashed sofar, so I'm happy with it.
But there are some thingsthat needs to be cleaned up.
There needs to be more met variety.
There needs to be morecooperation within it.
EY probably needs a littlebit of a touch up as well.
There are things that they need toactually work on, but from all in
all on like a gaming optimizationstandpoint, it's actually really good.

(05:51):
I don't mind getting rid of the builders.
I think that needed to go eventually.
I do like the way they're going with this.
I don't mind the ages thing.
I do think that.
Leaders should change with age.
I think just having one consistent leader, but your age changes is a little weird.
There's some issues, but fromlike the hyperbole of everybody

(06:14):
hating on it, it's not that badif it, is it an unfinished game?
I don't know.
I'm, I've played a little bit of itand I don't feel like it's unfinished.
I feel like I've gotten like arobust game, but I guess I'm not
that harsh as they are on it.
It's a 4K strategy or a four xstrategy game, so you can replay it

(06:34):
several times to your heart's content.
I feel like a lot of, like RPGsand stuff you can replay 'em, but
you want to take time to go awayfrom them and come back to 'em.
'cause once you beat the story, you'regonna beat the same story all over again.
And with strategy games, you just, you get, there's a replayability in
these games, I'm not having issues, but I guess a lot of people are.
So we'll see when all this comes about.

(06:58):
Paradox is buying the owner ofJagged Alliance three and surviving
Mars Developer I month games.
So yeah.
So it looks like they're just gonnabe acquiring 'em, which actually
makes really good sense with paradox.
'cause Paradox is mainlyknown for strategy type games.

(07:20):
And this company, which I did do tro, Ithink they did Tropical as well, actually
makes a lot more sense because of justthe way each one's synergized together.
Plus, with Paradox, actually not really.
I don't think they're ever gonnabe releasing the bloodlines too.

(07:41):
And just city skylines too.
Not doing very well.
The first one, original one was great, but the second one had a lot of issues.
It looks like they needed more time toactually work with it, but they actually
didn't do that, which is very weird.
Very weird.
But
we'll see how this all.

(08:03):
Stands out.
I hope this actually is a good thing.
I hope that they actuallycontinue to make great games.
Jack Lines three is a fun game.
It's fun 'cause it's like a funnytype of game in its own right and
it's in the vein of commandos and.
Those types of genre of games aren'treally made as much anymore, but probably

(08:23):
should be made a little bit more.
I really hope that this RTS and type ofstrategy type games, resurgent really
does hit its stride because we've beenon the first person shooter dominance
for a little too long, in my opinion.
Alright, moving on to the Nvidia G four.

(08:45):
RT X 50, 90, and 50 80.
Apparently prices are gonna go upagain because of the tariffs on China,
and we're gonna be paying more for itunless they actually start building it
here, which there are a few foundries.
I think TSMC actually does havea foundry in Arizona in the
United States, so we should seemore price hikes on that, which.

(09:12):
I'm just saying just stick with thefounder's edition, which it looks like
from the 50 80 purpose, there is a lotof headroom to actually overclock it, to
make it actually faster than what the baseclock is, which is weird that Nvidia would
leave so much headroom for that, but I.
I guess they were trying tobe conservative about it.
I don't know.
It just seems like this launch has beenweird because it was a paper launch.

(09:35):
'cause there is no cards you can get, which is funny because I was looking
at new monitors online and Microcenterand a lot of their bundles were like,
from a hundreds was like, buy a 50 80or 50 90 and get a hundred dollars off.
I'm like, but you can't find any of 'em.
So how are you gonna get the deal ifyou can't actually find the product?
A little weird.
Just a little weird.

(09:56):
You probably should have pulled thatback until stocks came back, but
you're just gonna be payingmore from third party ones.
They're also a lot thicker than thefounder's edition, which I'd rather
take the founder's edition becauseit's only two slots, especially
for the 50 80 and the 50 90 plus

(10:17):
you.
You can.
Overclock it.
It looks like there is a lot ofheadroom, at least for the 50 80, I
think the 50 90 as well, to actuallyoverclock 'em on the founder's edition.
So I would just look at thatinstead and just overclock it.
And you may actually finally beat outthe 40 90 if you overclock it now base.
No, you can't.

(10:37):
40, 90 beats it out all the time.
But that maybe what's actually holdingto give back is the base clocks.
Moving on to the A MD Ryzen 9,000X 3D stock demand is so high that
they're ramping up production.
Yes, it is a very good CPU to actuallyget it does a really good job at.

(11:00):
Being efficient for gaming, and to behonest with you, I don't understand
why just a MD just doesn't do theRyzen X 3D as the line to do, because
it seems like every time they releasethe base one and then do the X 3D is
always better than the original one.
But
we'll see how this goes.
It seems interesting and.

(11:23):
The new ones are supposed toeventually come out March.
I know we finally got actualconfirmation that the new A MD GPUs
are coming out in March, early March.
The 9,000 series or 90 70 is the onlyones that we know about, so it should
be interesting to see how well thesedue against the 50 70 series that's

(11:46):
supposed to come out in March as well.
The 50 70.
50 70 ti I think.
So it should be interesting to seehow well they do with that, how
they stack up against the 50 80.
If they can actually beat the 50 80.
I know they're not gonna touch the50 90, which everybody's been saying.
Huge mistake for you guys get outthe high-end market 'cause you
probably might have been able todominate that this time around.

(12:08):
But we'll see.
We'll see what the updates withFS R four is, if it will do better
with Ray tracing, even though.
I'm still not convinced that Ray tracingis all that it's cracked out to be.
I think we've just been forcedupon a good Ray tracing, path,
tracing all this tracing.
Apparently, we're all artists now.
Anyways.
Moving on to I.

(12:31):
EA and Dragon Age, it looks likefrom their earnings call, they just
have not learned their lesson yet.
They're basically blaming DragonAge on not ha a failure or not
having a quote unquote shared world.
It's no, the reason why it failedis because it had a cringe worthy.
Tirade on how to properly pronounsor properly use someone's pronouns.

(12:57):
No one wanted to do that.
No one wanted to pull the Brava scene, and everybody was like, this is stupid.
I shouldn't be lecturedto about this stuff.
First of all, pronouns don't exist.
It's all in your head, and youare stupid if you have some.
Second of all, no one cares, whichI will actually be talking about.

(13:19):
The dumb signup form forBattlefield Labs and ea.
You need to drop all this stuff.
No one likes it.
No one cares about it.
It's annoying and we all hate it.
Listen to gamers.
The reason why we didn't buy this isbecause we didn't like the top surgery
scars from the character creator.
'cause it made no sense.

(13:39):
We didn't like the pronouns made nosense, and you all need to drop 'em.
We all know that youtook money from usaid.
Let's please move on from this.
Drop it all.
It doesn't work.
Get back to making games.
Get back to actually creatinggames for men because men
will mo mostly buy this stuff.

(14:03):
He also announced EA CEOalso announced Apex a 2.0
since it won't happenuntil next Battlefield.
But this will not be the final incarnationof Apex, so we're gonna get a 2.0
version of it.
Hopefully it does betterthan what it is right now.
No one's really playing Apex anymore.

(14:24):
Just too many different weirdthings they've been doing with it.
I stopped playing with it a while ago iswhen they only had one map and I, after
a while, I was like, eh, I don't know.
I just battle Royal me and BattleRoyale games just don't mix.
I just don't like them that much.
If they're fine.
Do you love them?
By all means.

(14:44):
I just don't prefer 'em.
I prefer just like Battlefieldor Delta Force or hero shooters
or old school shooters.
Those are fine.
I just, I play 'em and I stop playing 'em.
'cause it's just like when you die youhave to go and get into new match and
I'm just, I just don't wanna do that.

(15:08):
Alright, finally announcedBattlefield, battlefield six, or
whatever they're gonna call it.
They announced a whole slew of things.
Luckily, portal 2.0
is coming, or portal's coming back as 2.0
hopefully this time around.
They utilized it a lot betterthan they did with 2042.
It was the, and I said thiswhen it was having its issues.

(15:30):
I, like I said.
Focus on portal.
It's you're saving grace right now.
Nothing else works really well.
No one's having funwith the regular stuff.
Focus in on portal becauseportal is the thing you need to
focus on and they didn't do it.
They focus on fixing the game and thenthey left, which is always EA style.
I don't understand.

(15:50):
You don't understand live servicegames but you winch and complain
that games don't work 'cause theydon't have live service while you
don't understand live services.
You have one live service game.
It's Apex Legends and that's it.
Sims.
I wouldn't consider alive service game at all.
It's just been updated.
'cause why make a new one?

(16:10):
And Battlefield 2042 wasn'ta live service game at all.
It was, all right, we messedup and we need to fix it.
All right, we're moving on.
It's like you could have kepton doing things with it and.
It may have a longer development cycle.
I know that specialists were not loved

(16:32):
and fair enough, but here's my problem.
If you're gonna be doing thenext battlefield game, expect low
pre-orders because we're all veryskeptical about what you're gonna do.
Then
the other thing is.

(16:55):
Make sure there's destruction inthis game because a lot of the
other games are now due destruction.
Make sure this is worthwhiledestruction and actually is good.
Make sure you just have a class system.
No more specialists we're done with that.
It just didn't work.
I.
If you'd wanna do 128 players,which I don't think you're gonna

(17:17):
be doing, make the maps work fora hundred i 128 players can work.
You just didn't do the right maps.
The maps did not work.
That was the issue with it.
And a whole, only 128 playerscan only work in conquest
or a Titan mode.

(17:38):
I think that actually couldwork, but it cannot work in rush.
It cannot work in.
I forget the other one, butthe one similar to Rush.
It cannot work in those modesas most need to be small.
64 is actually a good spot.
128 players only worksfor all out warfare.
But you need to like press intothe multiple objectives and may

(17:58):
make it more interesting like thisneeds to be the next evolution
and it's been stuck in this weird.
We're gonna follow, we're gonnachase trends and it needs to
stop, stop chasing trends.
Student extraction shooter.
I think it can work if youguys actually make it work.
It didn't work because on 2042because it just wasn't good.

(18:22):
You didn't have enoughtime to make it work.
Battle royale fine.
Like I said, I just don't likehim, so I probably will never play
it or I'll play it a few times.
This needs to be hit out the park.
I know you had Battlefield Labs.
I know you're gonna be start testingit and this is gonna be like a
testing phase and figuring outwhat works and what it doesn't.

(18:43):
But please, for the love ofGod, if you're going to be doing
signups, stop with the pronouns.
I already gave you my quirky pronoun, which was like, this isn't real.
Stop this crap.
Wanna use more colorful language.
But that's basically what I said becauseI was like, look it, I don't care.
You're sex male, female.
Pronouns that should have been eliminated.

(19:05):
Because it doesn't matter.
It doesn't matter.
Nobody is anything elsebut male or female.
The crazy ones.
I'm sorry.
This is reality
and we all stop this, please.
With the love of God, like I justwouldn't play games without all this

(19:25):
stupid political stuff in there.
Come of your heroes.
Three, the game that we're all happywhen it came out, but then when it came
out, we were like, this is very good.
They're coming out with anew DLC later this month, and
it's called fire and steel.
It's gonna be specifically moreabout tanks, which is fine.

(19:46):
It's gonna be priced at $25, sothis better be a really good DLC
or people are not gonna buy it.
Just saying
now, coming to KingdomCome Deliverance two.
I was excited when this was comingout and then too much controversy and
too much weirdness about this game.

(20:08):
Now.
I know.
Everybody's this is so amazing.
It's so great.
First of all, I don't understand whyyou can romance Hans, as your main
character, win the original game.
You guys were friends and y'all liked to.
Girls.
And there was actually onequest where you helped out your
bro basically being a girl.

(20:29):
The best way of saying it.
So now you why, like, why is it thatguys can't just be best friends without
oh, I guess you're gay, like that.
That was weird.
And then the black guy in therewhen his the main guy of war
horse studios basically said that.
Henry was a straight white Christianmale, which apparently now he's not,

(20:53):
and there was no black people in there.
But now we're like, yeah, there's a black person.
Like it was like a weird liketurnaround where I was like
yeah, I don't really like this.
And now you can romance Hans come on guys.
Seriously, I'm glad thatyou made $1 million.

(21:14):
I'm glad you chastised the industry forwhatever reason, but you're no better.
You tried to hide it, youtried to it is not that bad.
It's skippable.
It's an interesting story thing.
I'm like, look, if you want interestingstory pieces, how about he still continues
to be a straight white Christian male.

(21:38):
You deal with repercussions of maybe someof your friends or your companions being
gay and you deal with that, but don'talready establish your character from
the first game as not being gay, and thenall of a sudden go, yeah, he's gay now.
It makes no sense.
It makes no logical senseon this one whatsoever.

(21:58):
And don't gimme the, it'san interesting story thing.
No, it's not.
It's a high, it's hypocritical.
Like people, that's whatpeople are calling you out for.
It's like you're being hypocriticalabout this and I'm glad that people,
a lot of people didn't care andthey bought it, but I only buy it
on sale because I'm that's stupid.
Like you should have known better.

(22:18):
I.
Stop with this.
I know you're owned by Embracer Groupand I'm pretty sure they were the ones
behind this telling you what to do.
But seriously, that was thedumbest thing I've ever seen.
'cause I canceled my preor, soI was like, I, you know what?
I don't really care for this.
It's an RPGI love, I love the first game.

(22:39):
The game was great, but this is an RPG.
I don't understand why you'rechanging around character's,
sexual identity or whatever.
Sexual orientation, whatever it's called.
I don't get it.
I don't understand itand I do not like it,
so please stop.

(23:00):
But you just want to do thisfor, clout or whatever reason.
I guess you hate that themedia was against you.
This.
Anyways, moving on to usaid.
So this is an interesting thing becauseonce Trump got into office, and then
once Elon Musk kind of got into like howmuch money our government was wasting,

(23:25):
and it's quite a bit, it is quite bad.
It's really, this is like one of the worstscandals in American history right now.
And it looks like ED.
I also hit gaming pretty much too.
To the point where feminist frequencyfrom Anita, Ian took money from the

(23:45):
US government to basically tell gamingcompanies that you shouldn't be making a
games cure to males because sexism, shewas a grifter before and we all found
out that she was a pretty bad grifter.
But it's bad when you're takingmoney from the government to tell
American males that they're terrible.

(24:09):
That's just dumb.
Plus you pay, they paid politicaland all them to basically have
negative stories about Gamergate.
So this was all not actually like
reporters weren't just dumb.
They were paid off to do this.

(24:32):
And even Sweet Baby Inc.
Looks like it was through another companywas used the money from USAID to tell
gaming companies to make their games woke, and then the woke games failed miserably.
And that's where we're at right now.

(24:52):
I don't
understand why you would do this.
But apparently, and I'm pretty sure alot of these games took money to do this.
A lot of these game companiestook money to do this stuff.
It is not good.

(25:17):
I'm pretty sure Kata and all them are I.
Are just as culpable of taking money, justlike AP took money, political took money.
BBC took money, which I don't understandwhy we were funding the BBC, but all
these companies that somehow were againstnormal Americans saying, Hey look,
there's something not right about this.

(25:37):
They're like no.
Don't believe you're lying eyes.
'cause we're paid totell you to lie to you.
We're not gonna tell you the truth.
We're gonna lie to you'cause we're paid to do that.
By these weird OIDs
and it hit gaming.
It hit almost every industry.
And now we're seeing just howbad it was and it was bad.

(26:00):
And I hope that this is finallylike the way it will come back
around and we'll just get games thatare fun to make and fun to play.
No more DEI stuff.
Just make fun games.
People will love your game if it's fun.
And we're not just being bashed overwith these weird Marxist ideologies.

(26:24):
That's the problem thatwe've all had is just it.
No normal person liked it, but itwas being pushed, like it was this
popular thing that everybody was like, yeah, this is was totally what I like.
Yes, this is good.
Yeah.
No, it wasn't.
I hope this is finally the turning point
because it needs to stop our needs.

(26:47):
Our need of Ian needs to go away forever.
Grifter and all these companiesneed to really look into this.
Even Google is dropping their DEIbecause they know it's not good.
They know it's not doing well for them.
It'll eventually hit the gamingcompanies, once they start losing

(27:09):
enough money, they'll figure it out.
They'll be like, okay, maybethis doesn't actually work,
and they'll come crawling back.
But right now they just, apparentlythey still need to learn their lesson.
And I hope, and for all of you thatjust didn't like it, you weren't crazy.
You were just like me going, this doesn't make any sense.
Just make games that I wanna play.

(27:33):

I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
