Welcome to a new episode of a Digital Coffee Gaming Brew,
and I'm your host, Brett Deister.
If you could please subscribeto this podcast and all your
favorite podcasting apps.
I think a five star review reallydoes help with the rankings.
Let me know how I'm doing.
But this week we are gonna be talkingabout, oh, can come Deliverance Update.

(00:22):
We're gonna be talking about Marvelrivals, a little bit about their updates,
also with the controversy of them.
, letting go of the Western developer.
That helped create the game as well.
We're also gonna be talking about thenew update for Marvel rivals, because
it's actually pretty interestingwhat they're actually gonna be doing.

(00:44):
And we're talking aboutdune awakening and it's new.
I guess release date, and then talka little bit about Delta Force.
I haven't played the single player games.
It just came out today and hadan actual opportunity to do it,
but should be interesting tosee how well this actually does.
So far it's got negativereviews of Hun Steam, so not

(01:07):
looking too hopeful about it.
And then like just talking abouthow the Western developers have
let the Chinese developers.
Run the gaming market right now.
They've been doing such terrible jobswith what they actually have and they've
had such a great lead and a tremendous, opportunity to keep that lead, but
they've missed the boat on that one.
So we're gonna be talking about that.

(01:28):
But let's get on with the show.
Mm, that's good.
Alright, so what we have is new hotfix for kingdom Come Deliverance

(01:54):
addresses minor issues and theseare the facts primarily improving
the overall stability of the game, resolving some Quest related bugs.
This update aims to enhance theplayer experience as the game
continues to enjoy widespread success.
With over 2 million copiessold in a player peak of around
250,000 concurrent users on steam.

(02:17):
So here's the kind ofwhat the hot fix does.
The Quest King's gambit fix anissue where the option to pour
wine for the king disappeared whenswitching from red to white wine.
That's unfortunate.
The NBCs will no longer report theplayer for crimes during the Quest.

(02:38):
Fixed crossbo aiming zoom issueson ultra wide resolutions.
Platform specific Epic Game Storeresolved an issue where achievements
were not being properly completed.
After extended play sessions, stability improvements, fixed
several crashes, including lookingat certain locked doors or chest.

(02:59):
These are funny.
Interacting with a horseinventory, loading the game after
completing the dice mini game,
spamming keys on the u.
A screen address crashes related to the.
Conflicting software, bink libraryversion, and other stability problems
and other fixes, improved rewardrewards that previously required

(03:23):
a game to restart, to activate.
And like I said before, thegame is very popular right now.
It's sold 1 million copies and24 hours and over 2 million
copies since it's released.
So it's been doing very well asopposed to . Vowed, which I think the
peak so far has been 17,000 players.

(03:45):
Not a good start for EV vowed, but we don't really know anything
else beyond that Also is coming asofficial mod support for the PEC.
So you, if you guys don't, I'm prettysure Moders will figure out how to get
rid of the gay scene in maybe the blackperson, because that's what we do on
Steam, which should be interesting.

(04:06):
Now moving on to Dune Awakening.
Now there's announcements andfeatures on this, and the Doom
Awakening will launch May 20th.
On the pc, there is no releasedate for consoles and the
new trailer has been shared.
I looked at, it's pretty cool.
There's a benchmark tool.
There's a free benchmark tool for testing.
Performance is available fordownload on its official Steam page.

(04:31):
Game overview.
It combines.
Sandbox survival mechanics withmassive multiplayer online elements
includes combat, craft, crafting, base building, and experience points.
Deep character customization withskills and abilities and players can
explore a desert to harvest spiceblows and key end game resources.
Build a guild line with great housesand grow in a into a house of minor, and

(04:56):
it's powered by the Unreal five engine.
It also features Nan and Lumen technologysupport DLS S3 and DL SS four, multi
frame generation for improved performance, quote unquote, because we kinda all
know that's not really it also, thePC specs have not been disclosed yet,

(05:17):
so if you guys are looking to seeif you're, you can run, you're gonna
have to wait a little bit longer.
Really that's reallyjust the rundown of it.
So I'm still excited for this game.
I think this game is actually gonna bevery fun if they can manage the cheating,
which is, will happen and manage if youactually have to do like a rust type game.

(05:38):
'cause the problem with rust andthose types of games is that if
you aren't on 24 7, a cheater willcome in and take all your stuff and
then you have to start over again.
So it's very annoying.
I'm looking for 'cause it's the Duneuniverse, so it's a really good universe.
It's should be fun to play.
But let's see.

(06:01):
Alright, moving on to the 50, 70 and50 60 graphics cards, because those are
doing very well in the online publicsphere of opinion, which basically
goes to say no, it actually isn't.
But the rundown is that . It wasexpected to come out a little bit

(06:21):
earlier, but there was production.
There was basically early productionissues, and then the original
rumored was this month, but thecurrent speculation is mid-March 2,
20 25 is the earliest release that.
50 60 is also initialedin the March 20, 25 range.
No rumor to launch noearlier than mid-April 2025.

(06:46):
Reasons for delays is chip.
Performance issues.
Debugging efforts are underwaydue to U unidentified performance
issues detected in early production.
Earthquake disruptions, recentearthquakes in Taiwan, disrupted.
Production activities in Taiwan, semiconductor manufacturing company
or TSMC, which produces these chips.

(07:08):
Combining these factors have set backproduction schedules by about four weeks,
so that is the problem.
So here's the actual problem.
The 50 80 and the 50 90 were sold outin about five minutes in the UK and US,
no one could buy 'em except for bots, which has been a continued issue for.

(07:31):
gamers that want to buy thelatest graphics cards because
we can't actually buy them.
The other issue is that the 50 80 and50 90 have supposedly had their cables
burn, so basically it burns your graphicscard and the cables get so hot that it
just basically burns your graphics cardand you're out a thousand to $2,000 to.
Or more depending on what, whereyou get it and which one you get.

(07:53):
So you got it on eBay.
I just laugh at you becauseyou got it on eBay and you
shouldn't have actually done that.
And second of all,
a MD actually has a really bigopportunity to actually shine in
this moment right now because.
Nvidia, even though it's Top Dog,it's not really doing very well.
It's the performances for the58 and 50 98 on the founder's

(08:17):
edition has not been great.
But weirdly enough, the 50 80 has like.
There's room to overclock it, a lotof room to overclock it to make it
actually a little bit more efficient.
But the issue is that it's almost likea 40, 80 ti is what people are saying.
50 90.
Yes, it has beat out previous modelsand it's top dog right now, but

(08:42):
still it's nothing groundbreaking.
So that's the issue right now.
So we have a MD who supposedly is goingto be coming out next month, supposedly
early next month, and supposedly throughthe rumors is that it actually has.

(09:03):
Really good performance and itdoesn't beat out the 7,900 XTX,
but it does beat out the se.
The 90, 90 70 XT does beat out the7,900 xt, but not the XTX because the
XTX was their top of line flagship.
The previous generation orthe current generation, I say

(09:24):
right now, there's that thing.
The rumor is that there may be a32 gig version, but I'm not really
holding my breath on that one.
My main thing about a MD is that Iunderstand that they said they weren't
going to be trying to compete withNvidia on the, like the top, top end,
but it looks like they can now becauseNvidia has not, this generation has

(09:46):
not been doing well, and then there'san opportunity that they should
not be missing because right now
They could actually take alot of market share from it.
I know a MD is not the best for likeencoders, decoders for like Da Vinci

(10:06):
resolved and all that stuff, but if theycan actually like slowly start to chip
away through having a lower price, betterperformance, and just having better,
. More stable drivers to be updated.
That's the other issue with a MD.
I think they can finally not makeNvidia as dominant as before.

(10:28):
They're still gonna be dominantbecause it's gonna take a while.
But Intel, Nvidia, a MDhave opportunities here.
They just need to take the opportunitiesaway from NVIDIA and not just give it
to them and continue to give it to 'em.
That's been the problem.

(10:48):
All right, so let's talkabout Marvel rivals.
So Marvel rivals outstanding success.
Nobody can actually say that it hasnot been an outstanding success.
Here's the issue.
Net Ease has announced layoffs in theUS based Marvel rival development team,
including one of the game directors.

(11:09):
Tha Sasser, around a dozen employees werereportedly affected performance of Marvel
rivals despite the game's strong marketperformance with 40 million players.
Layoffs still occurred.
Factors behind the layoffs.
Geopolitical risks increasing.
U US China tensions are said toplay a role as highlighted by

(11:30):
an analyst, Daniel Ahmed Ahmad.
Global strategy recalibration thateases undergoing a broader strategic
shift, scaling back overseasinvestments to reduce costs and
mitigate risk from geopolitical shifts.
Net East Studio Cuts, cuts, enclosures have affected others.

(11:51):
Net East founded studios globally, including O Waka Studios in Japan.
So yeah it's unfortunate.
Let's just say that it's unfortunatethat there's layoffs happening.
We've already gone through arecession regardless if our, even
the US government didn't really admitit when it actually was going on.

(12:14):
We were going through a recession.
We're may get out of it,but we'll see what this new
administration actually does.
But it cuts to federal spending andgiving back to the people and paying
down the debt will help with inflation.
The issue with inflation is when youcut energy production and you spend a

(12:35):
whole lot that you don't have, eventuallyit's gonna come back and hurt everybody.
And so this is where we're at inthis vicious cycle of spending
too much, not cutting anythingand just bloating the government.
The other issue is that Trump is morepro to have tariffs, to have things to

(12:56):
make sure that we are still top dog,not letting China well run through
us like they somehow are betterthan us, which they aren't because
even from a technological innovationstandard, they steal all of the US'.
Intellectual property, they actuallydon't have any way of actually competing

(13:19):
on that end unless they steal it from us.
So there's that.
The issue is that.
There really aren't any tariffson games, so I understand their
hesitation to have overseas studios, but there's no tariffs on games.
There has been no tariffswhatsoever on games.

(13:39):
The issue that they may have is thattheir servers need to be US based and they
can't just be sharing their data to theChinese government, which they do because.
Every company in China that'sfounded in China has to cooperate
with the Chinese government.
There is no I don't want to.
There is.

(13:59):
You have to, and that'sthe only option you have.
So with those risks,
it's just it's terrible.
No way about it.
And the justification may seem sound, but when you have, let's say, net
ease, when you have the developerof Delta Force making games, Delta

(14:26):
force a little bit more of a,almost a carbon copy of Battlefield
2042, more or less, except for the
Extraction shooter, whichthey did a way better job
actually, to be honest with you.
Delta Force did a better job of bankinga battlefield game than DICE did, but.

(14:49):
It'll be weird to see whatactually happens in the long run.
I'm not really sure what the Trumpadministration's gonna do about this.
I'm not sure how they're going tomitigate this or E or even if they
actually care about gaming development, and that's gonna be the one thing.
I don't think they care aboutthe gaming development at all.
I think they care about the technologicaldevelopment, the military development,

(15:10):
the energy development, and thecritical core . Infrastructure
that we need to be self-sufficient.
That doesn't include gaming.
'cause to be honest with you, weown like the game engine side of it.
Even that ease uses unreal.
So is anything gonna happengeopolitically on that end of tariffs?

(15:35):
No.
Will there be an impending doomof maybe a war between China?
Maybe that's . That's a probability,but the probability's still low
enough where we have to wait and see.
Right now, China's not doing well.
They have a huge populationreplacement issue.

(15:56):
Bigger than what United States andthe Western Europe actually has.
The only ones that are actuallydoing well in repopulating the earth
is in Africa, and they have theirown issues of well killing people.
But from what I see, yeah, there'strade tensions between the US and
China because the US is we're donebeing taken advantage of, and along

(16:17):
with the high cost of US developers,
it seems to be a factor in it, but
you still can't, they can't get awayfrom the messaging that it was a very
successful game, very successful.
I even said 40 million players.
Have logged in and played this game.
It's still like one of thetop 10 games played right now.

(16:39):
Like it blows out Overwatchtwo, like no other.
Overwatch two actually had to competefor the first time in a while.
It's crazy.
Anyways, moving on toseason one and a half.
Because we're not at season twoquite yet, which brings the thing

(16:59):
in Human Torch, which I saw inthe videos looks very interesting.
I'm actually excited to play the thingin Human Torch more the thing because
it's an interesting tank that kindof has a Amalga Reinhardt type of,
I play going on with it without gun.
'cause the thing doesn'thave a gun at all.
But it's a very interesting wayof doing this, but the thing

(17:20):
in human torch have been added.
So we will, we finally have thefull family and the human torch
is a very interesting flyer type
game mechanic because he has like theresources of Thor, but a little bit more.
He has kinda like the projectile speed.

(17:41):
Storm without the extra like enhancementsto the team also has some interesting
abilities of almost like a mini altfrom cloak and dagger, but with fire.
And then his fire alt can becombined with storm to create
a, like a firestorm in a way.
'cause supernova and the thing very tanky.
He also has some ways of . Hittingpeople of basically running them

(18:07):
down and keeps on hitting 'em.
One of the, one of his like abilitiesis to have like rock swelling
around him, and once, once they hitthe rock, he gets healed from it.
And his ultimate, it's just like kindaalmost like a Reinhardt slam, but it lifts
the people up instead and stuns them.
Could be very fun to play with.
We'll see how well it actually does.
Now we have some hero changes as well.

(18:30):
So Captain America enhancedattack, mechanics can use maleate.
Attack with shield is thrown.
It's actually a nicequality of life thing.
Buff to vibrate, vibranium energy, saw speed and reduce energy.
Cost of freedom, charge, Dr.
Strange Base Health has gonedown from six 50 to 600.

(18:52):
And those are just theVanguards, the dualist.
Now, black Widow improvedcombat effectiveness and slow
effect after using Alt Hawkeye.
Buffed base health decreased somedamaged values, but improved draw
speed and damaged multiplayer.
In strategists, we have Adam Morlock.

(19:12):
Quantum Magic Damage increased a bettersoul bonding heel cloak, and deter cloak
and dagger, increased healing values, butwith shorter duration and limited effects.
Stacking other hero tweaks includebuffs and or ordinance to Venom.
Thor, Loki Storm and ironfist got a very weird

(19:35):
Buff slash Nerf.
It was very weird because of thewhen he lands the hits, they go
down her, which hits you get.
But also he gets a buff with his, so whenhe heals himself, he gets over health.
But with that, he gets moreover health, but it starts
to decay after a few seconds.

(19:56):
So it's weird.
It's.
I don't really like it that much.
I think they need to figureit out a little bit more.
Also, new map Convergence Map EmpireFraternal Night Central Park season
feature midnight features two with newcosmetics in the two in one spray, and
rewards for battle pass holders overtime.

(20:16):
Grace, period added.
Point five seconds to preventabrupt mat match ends.
Fix optimizations hero specific bug fixes.
Spiderman hoax Dr.
Strange.
Others had glitches resolvedsuch as abilities, not properly
triggering or effects disappearing.
General fix map updates, dressterrain, and sound issues.

(20:37):
A FK timer.
Now pause during respond.
UI and performanceoptimization across platforms.
Rank mode changes season one and a half.
Launch ranks re retainingranks from season one.
Introducing gold rank costumesand new crest of honor
designs and PC improvements.

(20:59):
DLSS 4:00 AM D radioon anti lag two added.
Console updates, enhanced settings forXbox Series S and Optimize Aim Assist.
So it should be interesting how wellthis actually plays out, especially
with Overwatch two just releasedtheir PERK system and no new hero yet.

(21:20):
This will be happening I think inthe next season, and eventually the
new third person, one called Stadiumis a gun release in season 16.
But you have a rank resetin Overwatch two as well.
So my main thing I like to discuss isbasically how the Western developers

(21:47):
almost gave up their lead and theirdominance in the gaming world to China.
And it's not to do withit is their end aptitude.
And is there stupid reasons of in.
Just basically putting DEI ineverywhere and nobody actually likes it.
There are very few people that like this.

(22:07):
Most people, most guys, they wouldsay just wanna play their game.
They don't care about anything else.
They just want to play their game.
And so when you had like greatdevelopers, like BioWare eventually
made some a lot of terrible games.
Not good.
Ubisoft, really good example.

(22:30):
Publisher and developer made really greatgames, got to their highest highs with
the Assassin's Creed title, kinda letit flounder and didn't really do a lot
of really great things after Black Flag.
And then did a resurgence withAssassin's Creed Origin, only
because they almost copied everysingle thing from the Witcher three.

(22:56):
This is what we got.
We got a lot of developers not developinggames that gamers want to play.
So gamers skip it because they'relike I don't want pronouns.
I don't want top surgery scars.
I just want a game that I can play.
I don't have to see any gay love scenes.
I don't have to if I don't want to.

(23:18):
If I want to.
Fine.
Let the person do it.
I have no objection againstthat, but Starfield was like the
first one where you were, it wasa mandatory to pick a pronoun.
And I was like I don't wanna pick one.
Like why do I have to pick this one?
And then when Moders are like, okay,we're just gonna get rid of this.
And then Mod Nexus mods is no.

(23:38):
You can't get rid of this 'causewe're diverse or something.
They force you, they get rid of it.
But it's okay in Spider-Man two toget rid of the American flag and
have the pride flag, which makesabsolutely no sense whatsoever.
And so this is what the Westerndevelopers have stupidly done.
It's stupid.

(24:01):
Game modern.
The modern audience hasn't changedin the last 20 to 30 years.
It's been the same audience the same time.
You just don't like youraudience, that's fine.
But do not complain to the audiencethat we're not buying your game
because we don't want your game.
It's very simple.

(24:23):
Make a game we want to play.
You are the developer.
You are persuading us that your gameis good and that we should buy it.
Not that we're all racist and sexist andhomophobes and whatever, and that, and
shame on you for not buying our game.
'cause that's not gonna work.

(24:45):
It doesn't work anymore.
Because when the prices of games keepson going up as rumored, that GTA six
will be a hundred dollars for the game.
You, you might as well be damn surethat there is nothing, quote unquote,
woke slash Marxist in your game.
Or it can be optional.

(25:09):
Either get rid of it or it's optional, butthere is no, you're forcing us to do it.
I'm pretty, I'm gonna say this, butI think valve's not doing very well.
I think the only reason why it maybe okay is because of Game Pass and
Battle Net, but we can't read thenumbers on the Battle net side or

(25:30):
the Game Pass side because Microsoftdoesn't give us the numbers.
But what, from what I've seen from thesteam numbers, is that the peak was
about 17,000 people concurrently playing
17,000.
Is not good.
And the other issues of terribledialogue of MPCs where you, they

(25:54):
look like they're dead inside.
They don't really do anything, andyou can't really steal from anything.
You can't unlock doors like it's justan RPG that just basically tells you
that you have to do it this way or not.
The weapon system is not very good.
It's like you might as well justkeep the weapon you have and just
upgrade instead of actually findingstuff like there are weird issues

(26:17):
going on with all these games, which I am now picking and choosing.
I will more, more than happyplay the Two Points Museum.
One more than Glad to play DoomAwakening more than Willing
to Play Doom, the Dark Ages.
Because these don't actually insult me.

(26:39):
They don't pull Brava forever.
That will be the . The thingthat has killed BioWare the
most is, oh, dragon Age.
The veil guard.
Yeah.
Most of your choices from theprevious games we're not gonna
use, but we're gonna make sure tolecture you about gender pronouns.

(27:04):
'cause that's so important in games.
Again, the reason why most guysplay video games is because of the
hero journey, is because of thesaving the day type of a thing.
Most guys like this, or on a competitiveside, we like to compete with one
another to see who's the best.
Playing it simple.

(27:24):
It's not really hard to figurethat part out, but apparently it's.
You're clueless from the developerside to figure that part out.
So I'm telling you right now, stop with a woke ideologies.
I'm looking at you Civilization seven.
'cause I refuse to play HarrietTubman as a leader, which is weird.

(27:48):
Just be normal.
Just be sane, like stop.
If anything, the last election should havetold developers where, what people want.
And it's very loud and clear what peoplewant and it's not what you're giving us.

(28:13):
So western developers, you have two options.
Either adapt and go back to whatyou were doing originally or fail.
Battlefield six.
You got dice and all 'em.
You got one shot.
'cause we are onto you and we are like, this is all cool and all, but are you

(28:38):
really going to do what we want you to do?
'cause we dictate if the gamewill be successful or not.
You create it, you market it.
But if we go, Nope, I'm good.
I can go play Delta Force.
I can go play Marvel Rivals.
I don't have to play Overwatchtwo, I don't have to play D four.

(28:58):
I can play passiveExile Two or Dragon Kin.
Then what's the point?
But you have to message it correctly.
No more the, we're goingafter the modern audience.

(29:19):
No such thing.
It is the same audience as before.
You guys just hope there'sa other modern audience.
Alright, anyways, lemme know what youthink about all this stuff, including
the Marvel Rivals great things and badsituation, plus with the new season.
Or just if you just completelydisagree with me, lemme know

(29:39):
