The Apple Festival was so packed we had to split it in twain! Our dodo's are taking a bit of a break from patrolling the festival to enjoy a bit of cider and games. Amidst the merriment, however, tensions grow and boil to a head. Unspoken secrets come out, threatening to tear our dodo team apart!

Little do they know, dangerous forces are at work behind the scenes. What is coming? When is it happening? And most importantly, where in the circles below is Azh!? We haven't seen him for like 10 episodes!

Crank enforces some boundaries. Pistachio has a drink. Kapi faces the music.

DodoBorne is a comedy storytelling actual play podcast where four friends dive into the world of Daggerheart, a brand-new tabletop roleplaying game by Darrington Press.

Isaac Allen Burns (01:25):
Hey, It's me, your GM, Isaac Allen Burns, here
with another episode ofDodoBorne. Now, this is a part
two from the last week, so wedon't have a lot of time. So
we're gonna get right to theepisode. Cue the music.

Annie Hawthorne (02:44):
Yes. I know Delilah.

Isaac Allen Burns (02:46):
I see, says Foswold. So you do retain some
of your memories from before.

Annie Hawthorne (02:52):
I can't always activate them.

Isaac Allen Burns (02:54):
Curious. Perhaps if you come to Polaris,
we can work on that.

Annie Hawthorne (02:58):
I look forward to

Isaac Allen Burns (02:59):
it. Very good. You learn how to do magic
with those arcane gauntlets ofyours, you shattered that
crystal, and you prove to me youcan do the magic, I'll
personally write you arecommendation in.

Annie Hawthorne (03:08):
Thank you very much, sir.

Isaac Allen Burns (03:09):
He nods just as Hitchens is pulling out,
like, a deck of cards, and theystart to play a card game. And
he, without dismissing you, seemingly dismisses you by
turning his back to you.

Annie Hawthorne (03:20):
I stand there for a minute, and I just look at
him, and I just look at thecrystal that I have in my hands.
And I'll, like, open up mylocker chest and tuck it away
really carefully, and then I'llgo find my friends that I just
left in the middle of thefestival.

Isaac Allen Burns (03:33):
You open it up. You see a glimpse of that
turnip there. You think back tothe easy days, and then it
closes, and you walk away. Andeventually, the three of you are
back together as Crank catchesup to you too.

Rowan Collins (03:46):
Well, but there's also the Apple playground that
specifically has, like, thebubble shaped apple

Joe Diametti (03:50):
Thing is for kids. Just that shield.

Isaac Allen Burns (03:53):
Crank doesn't wanna see the oh.

Rowan Collins (03:54):
Hey, Craig.

Joe Diametti (03:55):
Hey, Craig.

Rowan Collins (03:56):
Yeah. Craig, do you wanna see the bubbles? Like
Of course,

Annie Hawthorne (03:58):
I wanna see the bubbles.

Rowan Collins (03:59):
See? See? See? It's not just for kids, Kapi.

Isaac Allen Burns (04:03):
But, yeah, you look around in a couple of
the other games, your finalticket that reaches out to you,
you see apple knockers.

Joe Diametti (04:10):
Mhmm.

Isaac Allen Burns (04:11):
So you look over, you see there's a bunch of
targets, and you have to throwan apple to hit each of the
targets. Oh, yeah. Let's seemslike it would take some
strength.

Joe Diametti (04:17):
Let's go. Sounds good. Before even seeing it, the
rest of them

Isaac Allen Burns (04:19):
I don't need them. You walk over to apple
knockers Yeah. And you see

Rowan Collins (04:23):
He really likes his knockers.

Isaac Allen Burns (04:24):
You see a little farmer guy.

Joe Diametti (04:26):
He does love his knockers.

Isaac Allen Burns (04:29):
You see this you see this farmer boy who's
there and says, step right up toApple Knockers. See if you can
hit the three targets with thesehere apples.

Joe Diametti (04:38):
Yep. So I take the three apples.

Isaac Allen Burns (04:40):
Very good. Alright. You hit these different
targets here. This one willrequire instead of a DC based on
one roll, this one is going tobe three strength rolls.

Joe Diametti (04:48):
Three strength rolls? Indeed. What if What if?
I I actually feel bad for us.Just like all we're working way
too hard to play these cards.

Isaac Allen Burns (04:58):
No. This is great. No. What are

Joe Diametti (04:59):
you gonna do? I wanna I wanna use rain of
blades. I wanna spend a hope toconjure wait.

Isaac Allen Burns (05:05):
Conjure?

Joe Diametti (05:06):
Conjure. I know how to say this word. Want to
spend a hope to conjure throwingblades that strike. This is
enemies, but we can pretend thisis things. Right?
Very close to you.

Isaac Allen Burns (05:16):
You know, in this case, this target is an
enemy.

Annie Hawthorne (05:19):
It's your enemy. Your mortal enemy.

Joe Diametti (05:20):
Yeah. So what am I using? I'm throwing the apples,
though. Right? Yeah.
But I wanna use yeah. So I wannause the rain of blades with it's
gonna be rain of apples.

Isaac Allen Burns (05:27):
This is incredible. If you spend that
hope, I will lower the DCs ofthese.

Joe Diametti (05:32):
Okay. So I spend the hope. There it is. I'm down
to three hope over this bit. AndI I pull out the ring and, you
know, it glows red.
So this is a spell cast roll. 14with fear.

Isaac Allen Burns (05:49):
14 with fear. You watch as these apples soar
through the sky. Don't mind meupdating a quick number here.
Actually, no. I'm gonna use thisfear, actually.
I'm gonna use this fear in a

Joe Diametti (05:59):
way that I can't wait. Why are you grinning like
that?

Isaac Allen Burns (06:01):
Oh, no. So you throw these apples, and the
first two hit the targets arekinda, like, in further
distances away, and one fellswoop three apples fly through
the air. One of them hits thefirst target. The second one
hits the second target, kind ofoff center, but still there.
Third one, though, kind ofovercompensates and goes really
far, goes beyond the target.

(06:23):
But someone was watching andcatches the apple. And speaking
of knockers, you do see Nefanystanding there holding the apple
and just looks at you and givesa wink and takes a bite out of
the apple before she stridesover to you.

Joe Diametti (06:37):
Hey, Nefany. How's Hi. How's how's the watch going?

Isaac Allen Burns (06:42):
The patrol's going really well. Right now,
the the two the guards areshifting right now. So
everything looks clean. They'vebeen checking all the people
coming in and no one seems alltoo suspicious, though. Couple
of VIPs have entered the town.
We can't confirm.

Joe Diametti (06:55):
Perfect. Perfect. You're doing you're doing
excellent work.

Isaac Allen Burns (06:59):
Thank you. I can say the same about you.
You've organized quite a thing.

Joe Diametti (07:02):
You know, I'm I'm nothing if not organizable.

Isaac Allen Burns (07:06):
You know, if we need to, we can stop by
headquarters and sort of do alittle more communication on any
next steps that we need Yeah.

Joe Diametti (07:14):
I I would love cover Pistachio's ears. Yes. I I
think if we make it through thisday, I think you and I will have
a lot to celebrate.

Annie Hawthorne (07:22):
There's no guarantee that everyone's gonna
make it, though. What?

Joe Diametti (07:29):
No. Nothing,

Rowan Collins (07:31):
Pistachio. Pistachio's trying to rest happy
hand off of their head. Like

Joe Diametti (07:37):
No. No.

Rowan Collins (07:38):
I can listen. I'm an adult. Can't be.

Annie Hawthorne (07:41):
Stephanie, I just think you should prepare
yourself. It's absolutelypossible that any one of us
could die.

Joe Diametti (07:45):
Yeah. In the in the in the grand scheme of
things, crank here. Real, realphilosophical with this one. You
know? This one's always alwaystalking about the inevitable
end, you know, really, reallymakes you think.

Rowan Collins (07:58):
Yeah. Quake just found out that things can die
for no reason at all. Nothinginteresting happened, but Quake
did find out about the mortalityof fleshy things.

Joe Diametti (08:08):
Oh, god.

Rowan Collins (08:10):
Say, Duffy, how how have you been? How how how
how is Kapi? Anyway She's

Isaac Allen Burns (08:18):
just kinda watching with a wry smile and
looks at you, Kapi, and justsort of takes another bite of
the apple.

Rowan Collins (08:23):
Oh,

Joe Diametti (08:24):
my gosh. Yeah. Kapi just kind of shrugs, are
gonna do with him? You know? What are gonna do?

Isaac Allen Burns (08:28):
She chuckles and, like, presses herself into
you for a second and gives you asqueeze Oh. And says

Rowan Collins (08:33):
Oh.

Isaac Allen Burns (08:33):
One thing that'll never die is my passion
for you, Kapi. So you gotta stayalive for me. Okay?

Joe Diametti (08:38):
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yep.

Rowan Collins (08:42):
Pistachio does, like, start looking up at the
thing and goes, this, perhaps Iam too young for. This, perhaps,
I am too young for. I think I'molder than most things, but god.

Isaac Allen Burns (08:54):
She takes a nibble off of your earlobe No.

Joe Diametti (08:57):
Kathy, and then starts

Isaac Allen Burns (08:58):
to walk away.

Joe Diametti (08:58):
Goosebumps. You know what? I would like Kathy
right now.

Isaac Allen Burns (09:01):
I want you to take that d 20. 20? I want you
to roll that d 20. Uh-huh. AndI'm gonna say you wanna roll
because I'm mean.
I'm gonna say you need to roll a12 or higher. So go ahead and
roll that d 20. Just tell mewhat you roll.

Joe Diametti (09:15):
A 16.

Isaac Allen Burns (09:16):
Okay. 16. Very good. Kapi, after that
happens, as Nepheny walks away, you do a scan of the area, and
it seems like no one was payingattention or saw that. The two
of you especially look around, and it does not seem like
Scarlet is around.

Rowan Collins (09:30):
Can can we have a little, like, huddle real quick?
Just like
a little little tiny huddle.

Joe Diametti (09:36):
Breaks over.

Rowan Collins (09:38):
No. It can't be. I really I it's just a really
quick thing.

Joe Diametti (09:41):
Need checked in with the rats?

Rowan Collins (09:43):
I have, but this is really quick.

Isaac Allen Burns (09:45):
Hey. So are you two gonna this ticket's good
for three people. Do you twowanna step up and try this?

Joe Diametti (09:49):
I got some I got a bunch of kids. I got a bunch of
kids. I pushed I pushed them infront as I back up.

Isaac Allen Burns (09:55):
Alright. Here's your three apples. Who's
coming up first?

Rowan Collins (09:57):
I push crank first.

Isaac Allen Burns (10:00):
Lot of shoving. Hey. No shoving. We can
we everyone can get a turn. Noneed to hurt.
No need to rush.

Annie Hawthorne (10:05):
Okay. I'll throw them.

Isaac Allen Burns (10:06):
Alright, tall guy. Here you go. I have these
three apples. Go ahead and giveme three strength checks unless
you wanna try some crazybullshit.

Annie Hawthorne (10:13):
My strength based build, I'm gonna stick
with it.

Isaac Allen Burns (10:16):
Sounds good. Here we go. Number one.

Annie Hawthorne (10:19):
That's a crit.

Isaac Allen Burns (10:20):
Oh my god. Okay. We'll say the we're gonna
say you throw yours so hard. Itsplits in half halfway through
and hits two of the targets. Sonow I only need to make one more
throw.

Annie Hawthorne (10:30):
Wow. 15 with hope.

Isaac Allen Burns (10:34):
15 with hope. You would you believe that the
DC for the third target wasindeed 15? You throw that apple,
and it hits square in the centerand hear a ding ding ding ding
ding ding ding ding ding. Andthat's the sound of the guy
behind the table saying thatwith his mouth, and he hands you
a potion.

Joe Diametti (10:52):
What? I didn't get any

Isaac Allen Burns (10:53):
You didn't get all three targets. In fact,
you almost hit a civilian withyour third throw there.
Peacekeeper. Yeah. Well And thenyou

Rowan Collins (11:00):
almost stuck your tongue in her mouth, I say, as I
throw

Joe Diametti (11:03):
Pistachio, would you rather me talk to Nethany or
your mom?

Rowan Collins (11:08):
I've already thrown. I'm ignoring you. What
is

Isaac Allen Burns (11:12):
the lesser of two evils?

Rowan Collins (11:14):
It was 17 for my strength throw with fear.

Isaac Allen Burns (11:19):
So was that your first throw?

Rowan Collins (11:21):
Yep.

Isaac Allen Burns (11:21):
Awesome. The first throw hits that target. Go
ahead and roll your second one.

Rowan Collins (11:24):
Pistachio goes and is thinking really, really
hard between Nefany and theirmom. That's a 21 with fear.

Isaac Allen Burns (11:32):
Oh my gosh. Incredible.

Annie Hawthorne (11:34):
Lots of fear.

Joe Diametti (11:34):
Lots of fear. This almost feels like the whole goal
was to just generate fear fromus by playing so

Rowan Collins (11:41):
many. Throw the second one. You think they're
thinking about it, and they justgo, Kapi, I would just rather
you say what you feel toScarlet.

Joe Diametti (11:51):
Oh.

Rowan Collins (11:52):
And the last one's a crit.

Joe Diametti (11:53):
Oh my god.

Isaac Allen Burns (11:55):
The third one, the apple bounces off of
the target after hitting abull's eye flips in the air and
lands in your hands. And theguy's like, well, I guess you
can keep that apple.

Rowan Collins (12:05):
And they crunch it.

Isaac Allen Burns (12:06):
Nice. Tastes good, doesn't it?

Rowan Collins (12:08):
It does. It does taste good. Thank you.

Isaac Allen Burns (12:10):
Here you go. You can have a potion, which as
I said, which I didn't get achance to say before, this is a
bolster potion. That's right. The next time you drink it, you
get a plus one to your nextdrinks check.

Rowan Collins (12:18):
Nice.

Isaac Allen Burns (12:19):
Yeah. That's right. Ain't that cool?

Rowan Collins (12:20):
That's pretty cool.

Isaac Allen Burns (12:21):
That's some palmologist magic right there.
That's right. Alright. Anyways,I got other customers too. Now
y'all can get out.

Joe Diametti (12:26):
What is your obsession with Scarlet? Who?

Isaac Allen Burns (12:29):
Me? Oh, you're not telling me. Never
mind.

Joe Diametti (12:31):
My just more of a adventure guild thing.

Isaac Allen Burns (12:34):
Okay. I'm sorry. Sorry. I'll step out of
the way now.

Joe Diametti (12:37):
Unless are you obsessed with Scarlet?

Isaac Allen Burns (12:38):
Who? Oh, you're Scarlet? Scarlet Apple
people? Oh, yeah. She's hot.

Joe Diametti (12:42):
Hey. Hey. Woah. What? Watch your tone.
I will I will destroy this wholesetup you got.

Isaac Allen Burns (12:47):
Woah. Okay. I mean Alright.

Joe Diametti (12:49):
You see this giant halberd I have? Woah. Shit. I

Isaac Allen Burns (12:52):
didn't I you know, I've been It's not that

Rowan Collins (12:54):
he's with you're obsessed with Scarlet. It's that
he's obsessed with Scarlet.

Joe Diametti (12:58):
He just calls Scarlet hot.

Rowan Collins (12:59):
Yeah. She's hot.

Joe Diametti (13:00):
I know she's hot, but he doesn't need to say it
like that. Did see how he saidit? No respect. Look. Have
respect, sir.
You're children around.

Isaac Allen Burns (13:07):
Did you just make out with a peacekeeper just

Joe Diametti (13:09):
a second ago? The peacekeeper made out with me.
Very different.

Isaac Allen Burns (13:12):
I don't know, dude. You looked into it.

Annie Hawthorne (13:15):
I'm into a lot of things.

Rowan Collins (13:16):
He's into a lot of things, including my mom. So,
like Oh,

Isaac Allen Burns (13:19):
my man. High five.

Rowan Collins (13:20):
Oh, no. Thanks. It's about my mom.

Joe Diametti (13:23):
Don't think I forgot about the Scarlet thing.

Rowan Collins (13:25):
Oh my. Kapi, I just feel like you you're
talking about the impermanenceof man and all that good stuff,
and I just think it's

Joe Diametti (13:33):
very important. You you just said I've at least
one word I don't know.

Rowan Collins (13:36):
Okay. Okay. But Pistachio looks at Crank and
goes, I gotta tell him. Gottatell him what? I gotta tell him.

Joe Diametti (13:43):
You gotta tell me what?

Annie Hawthorne (13:44):
Oh. Oh. Oh. We were not supposed to tell him
anything, though.

Rowan Collins (13:48):
No. But he's our boss. He's gonna go this whole
day without seeing her.

Annie Hawthorne (13:54):
Oh, I guess you're right. Maybe we should
tell him.

Rowan Collins (13:57):
Pistachio looks at Kapi.

Joe Diametti (13:59):
Kapi is starting to feel like maybe he doesn't
this doesn't there's no way thisgoes well for him. And I think
he has those radars, so he'sjust I I think the Kapi. Mayor
needed protected.

Rowan Collins (14:12):
I Kapi.

Joe Diametti (14:13):
I just I think I'm gonna try to run.

Rowan Collins (14:14):
Alright. Okay. If Kapi tries to run

Joe Diametti (14:17):
Alright. I'm trying to run.

Rowan Collins (14:18):
Okay. Pistachio.

Joe Diametti (14:20):
I'm going to take off. I'm going to sprint.

Rowan Collins (14:22):
Going

Joe Diametti (14:23):
With my oversized

Rowan Collins (14:25):
Oh my god. If Kapi's gonna run and Pistachio's
gonna try and tangle him up withsome

Annie Hawthorne (14:30):
more vines. Okay.

Isaac Allen Burns (14:31):
Alright. What does that look like?

Joe Diametti (14:32):
Alright. What what can I do

Rowan Collins (14:34):
to prevent it? So it's a spell cast roll against
you.

Joe Diametti (14:37):
Okay. So what do I do?

Rowan Collins (14:39):
What's your evasion?

Joe Diametti (14:41):
Oh, evasion's 12.

Rowan Collins (14:43):
Okay.

Joe Diametti (14:44):
Okay.

Rowan Collins (14:44):
My spell cast check was a 13. Okay. So I feel
like the vines shoot up and, like, entangle a get around Kapi
and just like

Isaac Allen Burns (14:55):
Not

Joe Diametti (14:58):
cool, kid. I am your boss.

Rowan Collins (15:00):
I know. You're my boss, but you need to listen

Annie Hawthorne (15:03):
to me.

Isaac Allen Burns (15:04):
I'm not

Joe Diametti (15:04):
listening. I don't wanna hear that.

Rowan Collins (15:06):
Okay. I feel like Pistachio's, like, trying to,
like, put their little tinyhands on Kapi's face and goes,
Kapi, Scarlet may not make itout of this festival single.
What? She's engaged. No.
They're forcing an arrangedmarriage, Kapi. This is your
last date.

Joe Diametti (15:26):
Forcing an arrangement.

Rowan Collins (15:27):
Her father.

Joe Diametti (15:28):
With who?

Rowan Collins (15:28):
With Craig, who was it?

Annie Hawthorne (15:31):
The Viscount's son.

Rowan Collins (15:32):
That was it. Nephew.

Annie Hawthorne (15:33):
The Viscount's nephew.

Rowan Collins (15:35):
Viscount's nephew.

Joe Diametti (15:36):
What?

Rowan Collins (15:37):
They're forcing her to get married to the
Viscount's nephew. Kapi, this isyour last shot.

Joe Diametti (15:43):
Oh. Yeah. Kapi's just reeling. Like, the whole
like, his sound goes out intunnel vision, and I think he
just passes out in the vines.Just

Annie Hawthorne (15:53):
I catch him before he hits the ground. As

Isaac Allen Burns (15:56):
that happens, vines appearing out of the
ground from a chase has caused abit of a commotion, so a bunch
of people are looking at all ofyou. And you definitely did say
that out loud to a bunch ofpeople. You hear someone whisper
like, Scarlet's getting what doyou need? Scarlet's getting

Rowan Collins (16:09):
Scarlet's shot. And

Isaac Allen Burns (16:10):
at that point, you see the people who
respond to the commotion, whichin this case was two of the
people who were patrollingaround. If you couldn't guess,
one of them was Nepheny. Andanother one we're gonna say is
Miles comes charging into thescene seeing vines, and Nepheny
fully tackles you to the ground,Latashio, and says, what is the
meaning of this? What's goingon? Why are we casting magic?

Annie Hawthorne (16:30):
I grab her by the bag of her coat or whatever,
and I yank her off, and I say, don't touch my friend.

Isaac Allen Burns (16:38):
She you yank her up off of the ground, and
she, like, smacks your hand awayand says, you all are causing a
commotion, and you need to ceaseright now.

Annie Hawthorne (16:45):
We will cease, but cease putting your hands on
my friend.

Isaac Allen Burns (16:48):
Cease wrapping vines around one of
your companions.

Annie Hawthorne (16:51):
Well, our companion maybe should cooperate
with us.

Isaac Allen Burns (16:54):
Kapi, why isn't he cooperating with you?

Annie Hawthorne (16:57):
He's unconscious.

Isaac Allen Burns (16:58):
I Why isn't Kapi cooperating?

Annie Hawthorne (17:00):
The vines were for his own safety. We were
trying to prevent him fromfalling over because he is
dehydrated and hasn't had enoughapples today.

Rowan Collins (17:08):
Yeah, He hasn't had enough apples today. You've
been spending too much time onhis mind. Okay?

Isaac Allen Burns (17:14):
I'm on his mind. Yes.

Rowan Collins (17:16):
You're on his mind, Nefety. And we needed to
wrap him up because he wasdehydrated and was gonna pass
out. Okay?

Annie Hawthorne (17:22):
We have this all under control. Thank you.

Rowan Collins (17:24):
We have this all under control. I will disperse
the vines. I'm sorry. No morevines unless something bad
happened. But please, would youmind at least giving him some
space so he could get some waterin him?
I don't know what you've been upto.

Isaac Allen Burns (17:35):
I'll take care of him. I'll get him some
water. No. Don't worry, everybody. She kinda turns to
the crowd.
Everyone, it's fine. Nothinghappened. Disregard anything you
heard or saw. The festival isjust fine. See, her and Miles
are, like, kind of, like, getting in the crowd.
She's gonna walk over to Gappyand, like, pick them up very
easily.

Annie Hawthorne (17:52):
What did I just say about putting your hands on
my friends?

Isaac Allen Burns (17:55):
I'm not the one who wrapped him in a bunch
of vines.

Annie Hawthorne (17:58):
Those aren't hands.

Isaac Allen Burns (18:00):
Well, he's passed out because of your
actions when you all aresupposed to be leading the
defense of this. So whateverpersonal problems that you have
with each other, you need tosolve it in ways that are a
little more healthy. I wouldknow.

Annie Hawthorne (18:12):
Well, we're gonna go do that, and I'm just
going to grab on to Kapi and tryto pull him in the other
direction.

Joe Diametti (18:19):
No. So Let go of him. I'm so proud of him.

Annie Hawthorne (18:21):
Let go of him.

Joe Diametti (18:22):
No. You ever let us You let

Annie Hawthorne (18:23):
go of him.

Joe Diametti (18:23):
We're gonna do an oppose straight chair. I'm not
I'm not a fritter. I'm not somefritter. Your chair. Paws off.

Annie Hawthorne (18:29):
Can I use my you've got a friend in me
experience because Kapi's myfriend, and I don't want her to
take him?

Isaac Allen Burns (18:35):
I'm gonna say yes. I will say she rolled
really well, so you have to bean 18 on this.

Annie Hawthorne (18:39):
Oh, Jesus. Got a friend. Hang on.

Isaac Allen Burns (18:41):
I'm gonna say, yes, you can use you have

Joe Diametti (18:43):
a friend to me

Isaac Allen Burns (18:43):
because Kapi is your friend. I believe I
would believe Crank wouldbelieve that Kapi is his friend.

Joe Diametti (18:48):
I'm pulling for you. Joe. Joe is pulling for
you. I'm scared. I'm actuallyreally scared to go alone.

Rowan Collins (18:55):
Oh, can I actually
assist
with this in a way? Can we do, like, an assist
maneuver where I'd, like, add myhope to help?

Isaac Allen Burns (19:03):
Sure. Do you wanna grab on?

Joe Diametti (19:04):
This is how we're gonna spend them. The one move
hope

Isaac Allen Burns (19:07):
to help Kathy get pulled away.

Rowan Collins (19:09):
Well, I guess we could see how it works and then
yeah.

Joe Diametti (19:12):
I don't know if that is. I think

Isaac Allen Burns (19:13):
you have decide. Right now.

Joe Diametti (19:15):
I think you have to decide before the roll.

Isaac Allen Burns (19:16):
I agree. You have to say it right now.

Joe Diametti (19:18):
I don't

Annie Hawthorne (19:18):
think it's worth it. Let me just let me
just try. Okay. Okay. Alright.
I'm just gonna roll it.

Isaac Allen Burns (19:25):
Oh. Messy. No. What do we got? Who do got?

Annie Hawthorne (19:29):
That's a 9 with hope. Oh,

Isaac Allen Burns (19:31):
with hope.

Annie Hawthorne (19:33):
I rolled a 3 and a 2. Was very close

Isaac Allen Burns (19:35):
to that. Rolled with hope, so it's better
than you were expecting. So 9unfortunately fails. She's able
to, like, get wrist control andget Kapi away from you. She's
sort of holding him, kind offireman carrying style, and
Miles comes up behind and says, hey.
I'm sure there's enough of Kapithat can go around. Let's just
put the boy down. And he slapsKapi really hard. Kapi, you wake
up. You're being held byNethany.

Annie Hawthorne (19:58):
Is he still wrapped in vines?

Isaac Allen Burns (19:59):
We're gonna say the vines have broken up

Joe Diametti (20:01):
right now. Hi.

Isaac Allen Burns (20:02):
Hey there, Cap. Are you doing okay? Yeah.
Me, Miles. I'm talking

Joe Diametti (20:06):
to now. Oh, hey, Miles. Hey. Yeah. How's how's
how's the bar?

Isaac Allen Burns (20:10):
You know, bar's pretty full right now. I
got a couple of my friends kindarunning it right now. We just
were checking in because seemslike y'all gotten a little
kerfuffle, a little bit of anado.

Joe Diametti (20:19):
Oh, it's just, you know, training.

Isaac Allen Burns (20:22):
Oh, you were train this was test.

Joe Diametti (20:23):
You were testing this. Yeah.

Isaac Allen Burns (20:26):
Nice. Smart.

Joe Diametti (20:27):
Oh, I see you, Kathy. Yeah. I see you, Miles.
And I I knew you would see meseeing you. I knew I knew I'd
see you CNBC any way.
And that's why we see eachother. That's why I think so
well, Miles. Yeah.

Isaac Allen Burns (20:38):
Yeah. Fist

Joe Diametti (20:39):
bump. Fist bump. I do the little, like, explosion
thing.

Isaac Allen Burns (20:42):
You do the explosion thing. That's, a cool
thing that you know Miles do?

Joe Diametti (20:44):
Yeah.

Isaac Allen Burns (20:45):
Miles is like, let's chill, dude.
Alright. Well, Stephanie, whydon't we put him down and we can
all take a deep breath? Yeah.Stephanie kinda puts you down
and kinda like straightens outyour jacket and everything and
like brushes your shoulders offand says, are you okay?
Did they hurt you?

Joe Diametti (20:57):
No. No. Are you can't hurt me? No. Okay.
No.

Isaac Allen Burns (21:01):
I was just so worried about you. You were all
wrapped up in vines.

Joe Diametti (21:04):
You passed out like you had

Isaac Allen Burns (21:05):
seen something or heard something
terrible.

Joe Diametti (21:07):
Yeah. Something terrible. There it is. There
what is?

Isaac Allen Burns (21:13):
Don't worry. She leans in to kiss you.

Joe Diametti (21:16):
I I guess I kiss back. Oh, no. Oh, no. I I don't
think it's a very enthusiasticone. It's one of those like

Rowan Collins (21:24):
No. No.

Isaac Allen Burns (21:25):
I You kiss each other, and Miles and
Nephany walk away. And can oneof you that isn't Kapi make a

Joe Diametti (21:33):
instinctual? Trent.

Isaac Allen Burns (21:35):
No. Pistachio, you turn around, and
you see someone who was in thecrowd is Scarlet who is looking
at all of this.

Rowan Collins (21:42):
Oh, no. Scarlet. What? Hey, Kapi. Not to make the
situation any worse than italready has been, but there goes
there goes Scarlet having justseen you Macclips with a lady
that isn't her.

Joe Diametti (21:59):
Pistachio, what? There's if she's gonna get
married, she's getting married.

Rowan Collins (22:03):
You're not gonna go after her?

Joe Diametti (22:04):
Go after Pistachio, I know you think
you're helping. How many howmany times? We we have one job
today. You throwing vines atyour fellow adventurers. Can you
just do me a favor and just makesure that we get through today?
And when we get ourrecommendation, we'll go our
separate ways. Okay? Just canyou do that for me?

Rowan Collins (22:22):
Yeah. Yes, boss. Pistachio just kinda straightens
up and, like, walks off.

Annie Hawthorne (22:32):
You know they really look up to you. Right?
You shouldn't talk to them likethat. I'm sorry about Scarlet,
but you really shouldn't take itout on Pistachio. I'm gonna go
after Pistachio.

Isaac Allen Burns (22:46):
Crank walks away towards Pistachio, leaving
Kapi alone. Pistachio, you'rewalking away, and you hear some
heavy footsteps approaching you.

Rowan Collins (22:55):
Pistachio can pretty much think it's Crank,
but Pistachio's just gonna keepwalking. I think they're heading
towards the tavern this time.Yeah. I think this is the first
time that Pistachio's like, needa drink.

Isaac Allen Burns (23:06):
Very good. You head off towards the Aphid
Tavern, which is your classichaunt, and also was established
to be just down the road fromthe bakery. Yes. And sure
enough, Pistachio, as you passby the bakery, you see Scarlet
inside already back to work, working almost twice as fast as
you would imagine. But as youstep inside the tavern, you see
there's a couple of peopleinside the tavern.
Obviously, any restaurantsduring the festival are doing

(23:28):
gangbusters right now, but thereare two seats up at the bar from
two people who stumble awayhaving delicious cider. Yeah.
You're able to get up. One ofthe younger bartenders comes up.
It's a fawn with, like, red fur.
Mhmm. Goes by Knuckles. And he'slike, I'll fill you up. There
you go. You like you're the onewho likes milk.
Right? You want somethingdifferent? You look kinda
bummed. How'd you like somecider?

Rowan Collins (23:48):
Yeah. Decide. Could you do, like, a half and
half?

Isaac Allen Burns (23:52):
Half cider, half what?

Rowan Collins (23:54):
Milk.

Isaac Allen Burns (23:55):
Milk? You know what? Just for you, I'd do
that. Yeah. That sounds good.
That sounds

Annie Hawthorne (24:01):
Sounds like it'll curdle.

Isaac Allen Burns (24:03):
You yeah. He comes out with just the worst
thing ever and puts it in frontof you.

Rowan Collins (24:09):
And Pistachio doesn't care. They just, like,
shoot it back, and they, like

Isaac Allen Burns (24:15):
Was it was it good? Did you like that?

Rowan Collins (24:18):
Nope. I don't think

Isaac Allen Burns (24:20):
was try

Joe Diametti (24:20):
it now.

Isaac Allen Burns (24:23):
He goes at the back and makes one for
himself.

Rowan Collins (24:26):
Go back with another one, please.

Isaac Allen Burns (24:27):
You got it. Uggles goes back with another
one just as Crank comes in frombehind you.

Annie Hawthorne (24:32):
I'm just gonna sit down with my one good audio
receptor towards Pistachio, incase they wanna talk, but I'm
not gonna push. I'm just goingto be a nice little supportive
presence.

Rowan Collins (24:42):
Pistachio shoots another one back and again goes.

Annie Hawthorne (24:47):
That doesn't look very enjoyable. Why are you
doing it?

Rowan Collins (24:50):
Because people do a lot of things when they're
upset.

Annie Hawthorne (24:54):
I

Rowan Collins (24:55):
don't understand, Craig. I'm just trying to help.
And I feel like everything I do,Kapi I feel like he doesn't like
me.

Annie Hawthorne (25:06):
I feel like Kapi doesn't like a lot of
people.

Rowan Collins (25:10):
And I'm one of them. Right?

Annie Hawthorne (25:12):
I don't think that's any fault of you worse,
though. I think Kapi's justemotionally constipated.

Rowan Collins (25:17):
What? I can see that. I can see
that. But I didn't think he would hate me
that much. I

Annie Hawthorne (25:24):
I don't think he does. I think he likes you
when he's afraid of it.

Rowan Collins (25:28):
You think so?

Annie Hawthorne (25:29):
Yeah. I think he's very afraid of feelings. I
mean, you've noticed he doesn'treally have any friends. Right?

Rowan Collins (25:36):
But I just thought that's because people
think he's too intimidatingbecause he's really cool.

Annie Hawthorne (25:42):
Not that intimidating.

Rowan Collins (25:44):
He's not. He mostly flirts with people.

Annie Hawthorne (25:46):
Yeah. Very badly.

Rowan Collins (25:48):
Except for the people that he really shouldn't
be flirting with, like my Bob.

Annie Hawthorne (25:53):
Your Bob. He has a thing for moms.

Rowan Collins (25:56):
Maybe he has, like, a mom thing. Does Kapi
have a mom? Maybe he's lookingfor a mom.

Isaac Allen Burns (26:02):
Maybe he is, like,

Joe Diametti (26:03):
a mom.

Annie Hawthorne (26:04):
Maybe we should find Kapi's mom.

Rowan Collins (26:07):
Well, do you think maybe Cyrus would know
what happened to Kapi's mom?

Annie Hawthorne (26:11):
Maybe. This

Rowan Collins (26:13):
does not sit well with my stomach.

Isaac Allen Burns (26:17):
You see that Knuckles comes back, and he
writes on the board. It's calledmilk solid shot. Was half half
cider, half milk. He was like, yeah. I'm really looking for
shots that, like, create atexture, and, like, it curdles
the milk so much that it createsmilk solids.
That really gross, but it's,like, really textured. This is
the next best thing.

Rowan Collins (26:36):
Yeah. Kinda like apple curds.

Isaac Allen Burns (26:38):
Apple curds. You wanna try one big guy? Oh,
wait. You don't drink?

Annie Hawthorne (26:42):
Don't have an esophagus or a stomach, so I
don't really think it would Oh,dang.

Isaac Allen Burns (26:45):
That sucks for you, bro.

Annie Hawthorne (26:47):
Yeah. I mean, that's all I've ever known.

Isaac Allen Burns (26:49):
Damn. That's hardcore. Write a song like
that.

Annie Hawthorne (26:53):
Just going to, like, pat Pistachio on the
shoulder. I'm just gonna say Iwouldn't take it personally.
He's just dealing with his ownshit.

Rowan Collins (27:00):
Pistachio will lean over to a crank on their
shoulder and go,
maybe the reason he wants to get rid of us so
much is because he does care, and he's afraid of that.

Annie Hawthorne (27:12):
I definitely think that's the case.

Rowan Collins (27:14):
Well, that makes me wanna love him harder.

Annie Hawthorne (27:17):
And the camera just zooms out of the two of us
just

Isaac Allen Burns (27:20):
It zooms out, and it suddenly zooms back in as
a little guy

Joe Diametti (27:24):
yells, delivery. Delivery. Delivery for one
crank.

Annie Hawthorne (27:30):
How do they always find me?

Joe Diametti (27:32):
Hello. It's me Postmates. I'm here to give you
a package. I missed Postmates.

Rowan Collins (27:37):
Postmates.

Isaac Allen Burns (27:37):
That's right. I've been taking all your
business, crank. That's right.I've been getting the stale
leftovers from the bakery andtaking them around before you
could get there. That's right.
I've cornered the market like Isaid I would.

Joe Diametti (27:50):
I have

Annie Hawthorne (27:51):
I have been distracted for a few days, so
that's fair.

Isaac Allen Burns (27:54):
Oh, you've been distracted, have you?

Annie Hawthorne (27:56):
Yeah. I've okay? To do. I just have more
important things to do.

Isaac Allen Burns (28:00):
More important? More important than
business? How dare you? How dareyou minimize all my hard work by
saying what I'm doing ain'timportant?

Rowan Collins (28:09):
No. What you're doing is important. It's just
not important to Craig.

Isaac Allen Burns (28:12):
Or are you saying this ain't important to
you, Craig? You was my rival.

Annie Hawthorne (28:16):
Did you have a package for me or not?

Isaac Allen Burns (28:18):
Well, yeah, I did. Well, I was gonna gloat,
and now it feels bad. So well, here you go. It's a little Apple
stuffy from Timothy and Alana. They sent you a little Apple
stuffy.

Annie Hawthorne (28:28):
Oh, how nice of them.

Isaac Allen Burns (28:30):
Yeah. Well, I guess it is nice. I can't I
can't spin it in a way thatmakes me feel better. So I hope
you're happy. Hope you're happy.
You took all the all thegloating sales out of me wins.

Annie Hawthorne (28:41):
I hope you're happy too, Postmates.

Isaac Allen Burns (28:44):
That means a lot. And he he turns, and he
walks out. And then the camerazooms away Mhmm. And follows
Postmates as the camera pans. And Postmates passes Kapi.
What's Kapi up to?

Joe Diametti (28:55):
Entering the bakery. Ding ding.

Rowan Collins (28:57):
Oh, yeah.

Isaac Allen Burns (28:57):
You enter the bakery, and it is a wildfire of
people.

Joe Diametti (29:02):
Yeah. Kapi's stone faced. He's on a warpath.

Isaac Allen Burns (29:05):
Walk in, and you see but sure enough, there's
a couple of other people workingbehind the bar right now. You
see that Karen is behind theretaking lots of orders and a
couple of people going back andforth, some of them making
coffees and teas, a lot ofpeople making different apple
juices and ciders. And you seeone person sort of giving out
all the food as Scarlet. She ison point today. You can tell
that her voice is caring, clean, and true as she yells over the

(29:27):
din of people.
They've pulled in more tables, alot more people just kind of
sitting and milling about. Butyou walk in behind the line, and
Karen sees you.

Joe Diametti (29:35):
It's just

Isaac Allen Burns (29:36):
kind of like, yeah, Carol. That's what I said.

Joe Diametti (29:38):
What'd you hear? Carol

Isaac Allen Burns (29:41):
says, well, hey there, Gappy.

Joe Diametti (29:43):
Oh, hi, Carol. Yeah. I'd like a Apple turnover
today. Yeah. See, for years, I'dbeen coming in and getting a
fritter, but I think I'm gonnatry something different.

Isaac Allen Burns (29:58):
She sort of looks at you

Joe Diametti (30:00):
and kinda cocks an eyebrow and says, okay. Is
Scarlet paying attention? I'm,like, basically, you're, like,
yelling at Scarlet.

Isaac Allen Burns (30:07):
Scarlet is casting a mean side eye towards
you

Joe Diametti (30:10):
Yeah.

Isaac Allen Burns (30:10):
But is sort of just, like, seemingly
ignoring you until eventuallyshe puts the bag in front and
says, turnover.

Joe Diametti (30:16):
Yeah. And I I grab the turnover, and then I hold it
up. And I go, see, is is thiswhat this is what you want? Just
for me to do somethingdifferent. Right?

Isaac Allen Burns (30:25):
I don't know what you're talking about.

Joe Diametti (30:26):
Yeah. And and then I I I crumble it in my hands. My
god. I go and here's thefrustrating thing is that I
don't I don't want this.

Isaac Allen Burns (30:34):
I want the fritter. Why did you order the
fritter then?

Joe Diametti (30:38):
Because I I I don't know how to express
things.

Isaac Allen Burns (30:41):
You don't what is Kathy, what do you want?

Joe Diametti (30:44):
What? You're getting you're getting married?
Kathy, can we not talk aboutthis at work for once? When? Can
you come sometime when I'm notworking, You're Anytime.
You know when I get off? Nope.Seriously? You don't know when I
get off? Get out, all of you.
Out. Store's closed. Thirtyminutes break.

Isaac Allen Burns (31:01):
Lisa Carroll kinda looks and is about to say
something when you see thatScarlet goes out from over the
counter and, like, grabs

Joe Diametti (31:08):
your wrist

Isaac Allen Burns (31:08):
and drags you to the back.

Joe Diametti (31:10):
That's good.

Rowan Collins (31:11):
Yes. Go, Scarlet.

Isaac Allen Burns (31:13):
She just drags you into the back into,
like, the back office, and shesays, Kapi, what is your deal?
What do you want? I Why are youcoming in yelling about my
business?

Joe Diametti (31:22):
Because I wanna know why I wasn't owed an
explanation.

Isaac Allen Burns (31:26):
I wanted to tell you, Kapi. Alright? But I
wasn't I wasn't supposed to, andI didn't know what you would do
because it had been so long. AndI didn't think look. What do you
what you want an apology fromme?

Joe Diametti (31:40):
No. Oh. I I probably owe you an apology,
Scarlett. You know, I think fora long time I wanted to get out
of this town because you weresuccessful. And I thought that
if I could be successful and getout, then you would see
something in me.
But I think I might want toleave for other reasons now.

Isaac Allen Burns (32:05):
Tears are starting to well into her eyes
and you know that she reallyhates it when that happens. So
she's like trying to fight backcrying and says, you didn't have
to change for me. I I'm sorrythat I I don't know. My dad made
me break up with you. I knowI've said it before, but I
wanted to run this bakery, andhe I picked it over you, and I'm

(32:25):
sorry.
But you were always really nice.

Joe Diametti (32:28):
No. I wasn't.

Isaac Allen Burns (32:29):
Well, you made me laugh at least. You you
can be nice. You just somehowdon't think that you need to be
nice. Where you you would alwayscome into my workplace and just
make it so much of a problem, and I would always hate it. But
then it would just make me laughafterwards because you're so
awkward when you come in andtalk to me when I'm working.

Joe Diametti (32:50):
You know

Isaac Allen Burns (32:50):
I hate it.

Joe Diametti (32:51):
I think I'm pretty cool. So yeah. Okay. Yeah. Ask
Carol what she thinks of youbeing cool.
Carol got the hots for me. Shegoes the damn day.

Isaac Allen Burns (33:01):
Have the hots

Joe Diametti (33:02):
for you, Kapi. You think every older woman who's
nice to you just has the hotsfor you. To see one that
doesn't. Carol is one that doesnot have the hots for you, Kapi.
I hate to break it to you.
Okay. Well, agree to disagree.

Isaac Allen Burns (33:15):
She she laughs. The kind of laugh that
you can tell is, like, full ofemotions that are being released
and says, I don't know what tosay, Kathy. I'm so I am I'm
sorry that about what happenedback then, and I'm sorry that I
sort of assumed you would juststay in the same place.

Joe Diametti (33:33):
Do you want to get married? No. Well, is there a
way that we can make this nothappen?

Isaac Allen Burns (33:40):
I don't know. I was gonna talk to my father,
but I'm afraid you know how heis.

Joe Diametti (33:45):
Yeah. No. I don't think that's gonna work.

Isaac Allen Burns (33:48):
I was really mad when I saw you with that
girl.

Joe Diametti (33:51):
Oh, shit.

Isaac Allen Burns (33:52):
That made me realize some things. And I'm
gonna talk to him, and I'm gonnatell him that I don't wanna get
married. I'm gonna tell him thatI still wanna own this bakery
and that he can shove it. Wouldyou stand with me when I said
that to him?

Joe Diametti (34:05):
Yes. Or what? I would I would love any excuse to
tell your dad to kick rocks.

Isaac Allen Burns (34:10):
I know. So who is that that you were
kissing? Oh. Who was that?

Joe Diametti (34:15):
Yeah. That's I don't maybe my girlfriend?

Isaac Allen Burns (34:22):
Well, good. Well Good.

Joe Diametti (34:25):
Good feels like a strong word. Scarlett, she
scares me. I'm scared.

Annie Hawthorne (34:31):
What are

Isaac Allen Burns (34:31):
you talking about? I'm scared. What did you
do?

Joe Diametti (34:33):
I thought I was being charming, but she she's
like the older woman. She's gothappy fever. Oh my And I I keep
waiting for it to break and it'snot breaking, Scarlett. I'm I'm
a little nervous, but we need toget through the Apple Festival.
And then and then I and then Ithink I'm gonna break it off.

Isaac Allen Burns (34:50):
Okay. Well, that's kinda shitty. But

Joe Diametti (34:54):
Yeah. No.

Isaac Allen Burns (34:54):
I think you need to figure that out.

Joe Diametti (34:56):
Yeah. Definitely.

Isaac Allen Burns (34:57):
You should you should figure that out. I'm
still mad at you, but I don't Iknow I don't really have a right
to be because we were we've beenbroken up for a while now.

Joe Diametti (35:06):
Alright. Well, I gotta go do some apologies, I
think, and sort some stuff out.Let me know when you're gonna
tell your dad. I'll be there.

Isaac Allen Burns (35:15):
Okay. I will. And she kinda holds out a hand
for a handshake?

Joe Diametti (35:18):
Yeah. He shakes her hand too.

Isaac Allen Burns (35:19):
She shakes your hand and kind of smiles and
says, maybe we maybe you figureyour stuff out, I'll figure my
stuff out, and then maybe we cantry again.

Joe Diametti (35:29):
I like that. Alright. And then I think Kapi
leaves, but back through thefront, and he grabs a fritter on
the way out.

Isaac Allen Burns (35:36):
You go through the front door, and you
get a fritter at the moment. Youstep out there. Carol looks at
you and says, now look here, young man. You where did you get
off yelling at all of ourcustomers?

Joe Diametti (35:45):
Oh my god, Carol. Get in line.

Isaac Allen Burns (35:46):
Do you know how

Joe Diametti (35:47):
many women I have after me right now? I don't have
time for this.

Isaac Allen Burns (35:49):
Gabby, what

Joe Diametti (35:50):
the you get back here. Ding. Ding. Ding. Ding.
What's that?

Isaac Allen Burns (35:54):
You see Scarlet leaves and shakes her
head at you, and you leave thebakery. And as you head off, you
see coming up the street is twoindividuals who look like
they've been drinking a littlebit. And by they, I mean one of
them, and that's pistachiobecause Crank can't

Joe Diametti (36:09):
drink. Uh-oh.

Annie Hawthorne (36:13):
Hey, kid. Trying to, like, keep pistachio
from stumbling too much.

Rowan Collins (36:19):
If I believe oh, hey. Look. It's it's Gabby. Oh,
see me right now. He wants tonever see me again because I
messed his life up.

Joe Diametti (36:38):
Do you let Pistachio drink on the job?

Annie Hawthorne (36:42):
Pistachio is an adult. They have free will.

Joe Diametti (36:46):
We have

Annie Hawthorne (36:46):
can't stop them.

Joe Diametti (36:47):
This is so tough for me, Crank. I know I know I'm
supposed to apologize, butthey're drinking on the job.

Annie Hawthorne (36:56):
We were on a break.

Joe Diametti (36:57):
This is not We were on a break.

Rowan Collins (36:59):
We were on a break. It's likely you're
dating.

Joe Diametti (37:05):
Pistachio.

Rowan Collins (37:09):
What?

Joe Diametti (37:10):
Oh, alright. No. We'll do this later. We gotta
sober Pistachio up.

Rowan Collins (37:14):
Pistachio has fallen and is like just like the
sky, it looks
real funny right now.

Isaac Allen Burns (37:25):
You see Hazel walks up.

Rowan Collins (37:27):
Oh, hi, Hazel.

Isaac Allen Burns (37:29):
Uh-oh. What'd you do to my sibling?

Rowan Collins (37:31):
Hi, Hazel.

Annie Hawthorne (37:32):
Your your sibling did this themselves.

Rowan Collins (37:34):
Oh, I have a new Drake named after us.

Isaac Allen Burns (37:38):
Alright. Well, I'm just here to give the
report. No sign of that blueguy, and no sign of anyone still
coming through the gates.Everything still seems pretty
clean.

Annie Hawthorne (37:45):
Oh, well, that's good. Do you have
anything that could sober statueup?

Joe Diametti (37:49):
Do I

Annie Hawthorne (37:49):
have any idea which stat being drunk affects?

Isaac Allen Burns (37:52):
We're gonna say all of them.

Annie Hawthorne (37:54):
Okay.

Isaac Allen Burns (37:54):
And you see that Hazel's gonna pull out a
little flask of cold water

Joe Diametti (37:58):
and just pour it on top

Isaac Allen Burns (37:59):
of pistachio.

Annie Hawthorne (38:02):
I, like, put my potions away because I was just
going to make pistachio drinkall of

Joe Diametti (38:06):
my potions.

Rowan Collins (38:08):
Their their hair, which is curly, has, like, done
the thing when curly hair getswet and just, like, like, just
goes straight. You know? They'relike,

Isaac Allen Burns (38:18):
Okay. Well, you need to stop drinking on the
job, Pistachio.

Joe Diametti (38:21):
You're on a clock now.

Annie Hawthorne (38:22):
We were on a break.

Rowan Collins (38:23):
We were
on a break. Thanks, Hazel.

Joe Diametti (38:28):
Feeling better?

Rowan Collins (38:30):
Yeah. I'm feeling better. Are you feeling better,
Kapi?

Joe Diametti (38:33):
Yeah. Alright. Let's get this over with.
Pistachio.

Rowan Collins (38:37):
Kapi.

Joe Diametti (38:37):
Pistachio.

Rowan Collins (38:38):
Kapi.

Joe Diametti (38:39):
Pistachio.

Rowan Collins (38:40):
Kapi.

Joe Diametti (38:40):
Listen. Crank. Okay. I'm gonna use all of the
maturity that I can muster todeliver this. Okay?

Rowan Collins (38:52):
Okay.

Joe Diametti (38:52):
Alright. So do you know how Crank never engages in,
like, any fight even though whenyou kinda pick him, he doesn't
engage? Kinda like Postmates. You remember Postmates?

Rowan Collins (39:03):
Yeah. We saw Postmates.

Joe Diametti (39:05):
Oh, you did? Yeah. Remember Postmates wanted to
make Crank their arrival?

Rowan Collins (39:08):
Right.

Joe Diametti (39:08):
And Crank was just like, no. Like, Crank's that
person who just doesn't fightwith you even though you wanna
fight.

Rowan Collins (39:14):
Well, Crank fights a lot, but, like

Joe Diametti (39:16):
Physically. Right? But not like

Rowan Collins (39:17):
Oh, okay. Right? Yeah. Yeah.

Joe Diametti (39:19):
You do get upset.

Rowan Collins (39:21):
Yes.

Joe Diametti (39:22):
And so when I want to have an outlet of being
upset, it's easy to engage withyou, which is not right of me.
Okay? That is not right. Ishouldn't do that. I know all
you do is care and at the end ofthe day, that's just me being a
bully.
I hate that about me and I'dlike to be better. That didn't

(39:43):
sound sincere. I would like tobe better And I'm sure you're
gonna make a great doctor oneday. Okay? And I think you could
do better than whatever thisrelationship is.

Rowan Collins (39:58):
Kapi.

Joe Diametti (40:00):
Pistachio.

Rowan Collins (40:01):
Kapi.

Joe Diametti (40:01):
Pistachio. Kapi. Pistachio. Craig. Can

Rowan Collins (40:07):
I hug you?

Joe Diametti (40:08):
I yeah. I don't really hug good.

Rowan Collins (40:11):
And they, like, just, like, glomp onto you. And
go, Kapi,
you are also my best friend and I would like you
to come with us. I know youprobably have other ideas, but I
would rather not let this be ourlast adventure.

Joe Diametti (40:31):
Yeah. You're pretty good at hugging.

Rowan Collins (40:33):
I know. It's all of my extra fluff.

Joe Diametti (40:36):
Yeah. What about you, big guy? You want some of
this action? Come on, buddy.

Annie Hawthorne (40:41):
I'll just wrap my massive arms around both of
them, and I'll pick them up.Okay.

Joe Diametti (40:47):
And I'll spin them around. Human furballed organs
furballed organs.

Annie Hawthorne (40:51):
Oh, no. I'll put them back.

Joe Diametti (40:52):
Oh, no. Yes. You guys, I I wanna be friends.

Rowan Collins (41:00):
Well, good news, Kapi. We're already friends.

Joe Diametti (41:06):
Okay.

Isaac Allen Burns (41:07):
So you eventually get back to your
patrol after that was probablyabout two to three hours, little
longer than a break. But, hey.It worked out. You feel you all
I won't tell you how all of youfeel, but I think that deep down
inside, I think weights feellifted from your shoulders as
you walk your patrol once more.Eventually, it gets late into
the night.
And by late into the night, Imean that as a 40 year old

(41:29):
because it's about 07:30.

Joe Diametti (41:31):
Pretty late. The

Isaac Allen Burns (41:33):
sun has dropped over the horizon, and
that good old springtime moon isup high in the sky as torch
lights and lamps light up thestreets, reds and greens and
yellows. And at the main stage,do the three of you find
yourselves? There are plenty ofchairs and long benches that
have been set up in front of thestage as this is where the

(41:55):
inaugural speech by one EdgarBalthasar will take place. Seems
like things have been going offwithout much of a hitch. I would
assume y'all are standing kindof in the back, right, just so
can get get eyes on everything.
Earlier that day, MelissaMartin, the senator, had
returned to her room, citing areal bad headache from the
amount of cider that she haddrank. So she is not in

(42:17):
attendance, but you see prettymuch all the people you know.
You see in one of the largebenches, you see Timothee and
Alana sitting there. You see thedrupes. No sign of Cyrus
anywhere, and no sign of Scarleteither.
You don't see Scarlet kind ofhanging out. You also don't see
any of the Apple people. Butmost of the other people are
here in attendance. You imaginesome of them may have just, you
know, dipped out. They've heardthe speech plenty of times.

(42:38):
And as it stands up, you seemayor Raisins gets up on stage
and kinda clinks a glass andwelcomes everybody and
introduces the man of the hour,Viscount Edgar Balthazar, who's
gonna come up and give a speech.Woo. Yay. Exactly. Standing up,
you see this dwarven man whostands pretty tall, for a dwarf
that is, and steps up and takestakes a stand at the podium.

(42:59):
They don't have microphones inthis, so that he's just kind of
letting his voice project. Andhe says, friends, family, those
joining us for the very firsttime and those who have joined
us plenty of times before, I'dlike to welcome you here to the
Bracken Road Apple Festival.Classic aurelio. This long

(43:22):
honored tradition has alwaysbeen an exciting cap off to our
season of harvest. I'm sothankful that all of you are
here to join us for this greatday.
Unfortunately, my eldest son,Wolfgang Balthazar, was unable
to attend today due to sickness, but my second son, Major

(43:43):
Balthazar, kinda holds his handup. You see the nicely dressed
individual from before whostands up awkwardly and gives a
little bow. He is here in hisstead. Perhaps one day, he'll be
able to give the speech. Anyway, this festival marks a time for
us to stop and appreciate all ofthe hard work that we've done

(44:06):
for this season and to see howfar we've come.
Our stocks are full. Our applesare plump just like every year
and every season. This festivalis a time to see just how loved
we all are, to see how much wemean to each other. It is

(44:26):
important in life to be thankfulfor what we have, for who we
have, and for who we love, andfor those who love us. We
remember the bonds we have allforged and the connections that
we have established with oneanother.
Connections that not even thenine up above can part from us.

(44:47):
I would like to point out thatof our new neighbor, Jethane,
has come to our fair country andto our very town, the first
official time that a member ofthat neighboring nation has come
on an official capacity to ourcountry here, and they chose to
do so at this festival. We thankthem and thank everyone else who

(45:09):
made this possible. Round ofapplause for all of our hard
workers. This momentous occasionwill not soon be forgotten.
At that, you three notice asound on the air. You hear a bit
of yelling in the distance, andthe distant pop of what sounds
like guns. You look over towhere it's coming from. You look
over to the right. It seems tobe coming from the town hall.

(45:32):
No one else seems to havenoticed it because it's very far
away. And I would like the threeof you, pick one person
actually, to give me a instinctrole, see who wants to try and
see.

Rowan Collins (45:41):
My instinct is plus two, but I think Crank has
an extra plus one right

Annie Hawthorne (45:46):
now. Yeah. But mine's only plus two with that.
So

Joe Diametti (45:48):
Mine's plus zero.

Rowan Collins (45:50):
Alright. Alright.

Isaac Allen Burns (45:51):
Pistachio, you look over.

Rowan Collins (45:54):
18 with 18 with fear.

Isaac Allen Burns (45:58):
Fear. Incredible. You look over
Pistachio, and the gunshots arecoming from close to town hall.
As you look, you see a figureclimbing on top of town hall.
It's kinda tough to make out,but at the very steep top of it,
you see an individual kind ofraising their arms up to the
side, arms akimbo, much like a,you know, Christ the Redeemer

(46:19):
down in Rio De Janeiro orwhatever it is, maybe Brazil,
somewhere in South America.
Doing that kind of pose, you seetwo horns from atop their head,
and you can recognize the faceof Ashe up above there. You
also, with that 18, can see justthe biggest smile on his face.

Rowan Collins (46:36):
Guys, Ashe is on top of the town hall.

Isaac Allen Burns (46:41):
On an 18 with fear, you also hear the creaking
of boards. And you look over thestage to see Edgar Balthazar
sort of finishing off hisstatement and he's raising a
glass. And he says, raise aglass with me, a toast to our
health, the future of our, andon that, an explosion resounds
out. As he opens his mouth, theglass suddenly drops from his

(47:03):
hand and shatters as a shockwave goes through the town. A
plume of fiery smoke comes fromthe town hall building itself.
There's a moment of silence aseveryone is trying to figure out
what to do when suddenly a swordand then a second sword appear
out of the chest of EdgarBalthasar. Coming out of an
invisibility spell, you seesomeone dressed in very similar

(47:28):
armor to what you saw on thosetwo individuals around the
senator. As Edgar Balthasar'seyes wide in surprise and blood
begins to trickle down the sideof his mouth, he falls to the
ground as a voice rings out fromthe stage, death to Voldani
dogs. Glory to Jethane.Pandemonium erupts almost
immediately as people beginclimbing all over themselves to

(47:50):
get away from the stage.
Gunshots begin to ring out fromthe distant buildings as you
hear kerfuffles occurring fromall around town. Fires begin
lighting up at certain points. And that is where we're gonna
end this session of Daggerheart.Hey. It's a podcast.

Joe Diametti (48:18):
My goodness. Good job, everybody.

Isaac Allen Burns (48:21):
Oh my goodness. What a jam packed
episode.
