Our focus doesn’t shift from God all at once. It happens gradually—one wrong step at a time. And if we continue to ignore those missteps, we begin to drown in the ocean of modern-day idolatry: technology and entertainment. Eventually, we start replacing our time in prayer with video games. We exchange Bible meditation for scrolling on our phones. We become numb to God’s voice while giving full attention to the noise of this world.
