In this episode of the Empowering Family Health podcast, we're talking with Lydia Harden about the importance of getting good sleep for children and parents.

Lydia Harden is a Pediatric Sleep Consultant and a Newborn Care Specialist who is passionate about helping families get the sleep they need to be healthy. In this episode, we discuss the the POWER of sleep training, the issue of chronic sleep deprivation among children/parents and the importance of laying a strong sleep foundation in childhood. We also discuss ways to help your child sleep better from birth and how a Pediatric Sleep Consultant help you get the sleep your family needs!

After 10 years of working with families as a childcare specialist and getting a master’s degree in Developmental and Educational Psychology from Boston College, Lydia started Slumberly to provide exhausted parents with both virtual and in-home overnight support to effectively and quickly sleep train their babies because Lydia believes that both parents and children deserve to fully thrive! The combination of her certifications as both a Pediatric Sleep Consultant and a Newborn Care Specialist allow her to take a holistic perspective when it comes to sleep and approach every family with the personalized touch that it takes to see the sleep training process through from beginning to end.

A study by Dr Owens found that 25-40% of children in US struggle with chronic sleep problems (behavioural).

Children don’t have the skills to help themselves fall asleep independently. This delays the onset of sleep, and the quality of sleep and duration of sleep.

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
