(00:00):
All these things that you areexperiencing, anything related
to your present sensoryexperience, you can know for a
fact that that is true. It'shappening period in the story
again that is deeply healing, deeply calming, deeply
empowering. And from this space, you can choose what thoughts you
(00:21):
want to pay attention to, ordirect your attention and your
intention to what you would liketo think about instead, doesn't
make those thoughts any moretrue. It just makes them more
beneficial to what it is thatyou would like to experience
what you would like to do. Areyou ready to live a life with
(00:43):
enough time, money and energyhave relationships and
connections that delight you?

(01:06):
fear, obligation and guilt torunning off joy, ease and love.
It's time for engineeringemotions and energy with me.
Justin Wenck, PhD, youHi there. Have you ever thought
about your thoughts? Well todaywe're going to be talking about
(01:31):
your thoughts so that you cannot just be thinking about
enjoying your life and doingwhat you're meant to do and
having all of the impact and theconnections and the adventures
that I know, if you are alistener, or maybe you're new,
are wanting to experience. Soinstead of just thinking about
all that, let's talk about howyou can actually experience all
(01:54):
that. So think what actuallyhappened when I said, think, was
there maybe a break in yourthought process? Was there a
little bit of peace or space orjust a little pause, whatever
you might have experienced?
Isn't that interesting that Isay think and your mind kind of
(02:19):
has a little bit of like, whoa, hold up. So perhaps it's not
following all the instructionsthat are coming into it. And in
fact, maybe your mind isn'tthinking the thoughts that you
actually would like or wouldbenefit from. Do you even know
if your thoughts are true. Haveyou ever pondered that, that the
(02:44):
thoughts going around your heada million miles a minute off in
that non stop monkey mind? Isall of that chatter true? And if
not, then where is it all comingfrom and is it worth listening
to? So there's some schools ofthought, some philosophy, some
(03:08):
views on the nature of realityitself, even that would argue
that your thoughts are not trueat all. In fact, I'm going to
say something that you mightfind a little hard to accept or
even entertain. Yet I'd like youto just put this in the box of
what if this what if this weretrue, what if this was true? And
(03:31):
what I'm going to propose is,all your thoughts are lies. All
of your thoughts are lies. Sowhat does this mean? What's
actually true then? Well, thisgets back to what I was
suggesting, that some considerthe only thing that can be true,
(03:51):
knowably, definably, there'sbooks written about this. They
get to this conclusion. And solet's just start with the end
and go from there, but that theonly thing that is possibly true
is the statement I am basicallythat I exist, or you exist.
Other than that, everything iscompletely made up your
(04:14):
thoughts, whatever your relationbetween what you see in the
world, because your relationbetween what you see in the
world or feel in the world isput together by, of course, your
thoughts. And again, we're aboutdoing things here that are like,
gonna actually make your lifethat you are living and
(04:35):
pursuing, helpful, usable, doable. So we're not gonna get
too far off in the weed. So Iwant you to stick with me here.
So here. What's important is, ifyou can kind of go like, Okay,
what if everything's a lie otherthan I am, there's also
something else that is I like tobelieve very true and very
(04:56):
useful and very beneficial, andthat's it. Not. Only is you
existing true, but what you areexperiencing in the moment is
true. So example, what do I meanby experiencing right now is
true? So right now you'relistening to my voice, or
(05:17):
possibly you're watching thisand you're seeing an image of
me, whatever it is that sensoryinput that is happening right
now, and that is true, that youare experiencing that, what you
are seeing, what you what thewords and what your mind, your
logical mind, is puttingtogether from that and making
meaning of and telling you, likethis guy's full of shit. This
(05:39):
guy doesn't know what he'stalking about, like this guy's
face looks funny. What's up withall the stuff behind him and the
books and the whatnot? What'sall this? That's all lies, but
the fact that you are seeingimages, you're hearing my voice,
even the fact that you areexperiencing thoughts that is
all true. And how is thisbeneficial? Well, let's ratchet
(06:04):
this up. And you've probablyexperienced sometimes, like
especially during selectiontime, which, if you're in the
United States, it's almost whenis it not election time,
unfortunately. And one of thethings that politicians are
renowned at is not speakingtruth, things that we go, Well,
that was, that was shit, andit's frustrating. It's it's off
(06:27):
putting it's annoying. There'ssomething about when there is
not truth, that it is puts us atdis ease, which likely causes
some of the disease that many, many, many people experience. So
if you know that experiencinglies from others puts you at
(06:48):
ease, like makes you frustrated, makes you anxious, makes you
sad, makes you what, just allthese things that you are
wanting to likely experienceless of, or at least you don't
want more shit from otherpeople, because it's not, it's
not about getting rid of theseemotions. It's about
experiencing the ones that lifeis going to bring out at us and
(07:08):
being able to experience in themin real time and move on to
experience the joy, thepleasure, the ecstasy, the bliss
that is possible if we're not,you know, trying to ignore all
the feelings we're trying toavoid, and so with us, we ignore
all the possible feelings, including the ones that many of
us would love to have more of inour life. So if we know that
(07:32):
experiencing untruths or lies isshitty, like it just fucking
sucks when it comes from others, what's it going to be like when
we have lies of ourself in ourhead going on that we're often
not even aware of? It's going tohave the same impact. So if you
(07:52):
can experience truth, becausesometimes, have you ever had
like a relationship end, whethermaybe it was a romantic
relationship, or could even be awork one. But just like, part of
you knew it wasn't, it wasn'tgoing well, that it was not
good. There was something off,and then the breakup comes, or
the firing, or the ending, whatever it is, and it's like,
(08:16):
it sucks. It's painful. Yetthere is something deeply
comforting about like, oh yeah, this was not good. It's time for
this to end. That there's a bitof that relief, because it's
true. You've experienced thetruth. And so when we step into
the truth of what actually is,it can be deeply relaxing,
(08:37):
deeply healing and deeplyempowering. And so when you step
into this truth of the presentmoment, and I'm going to expand
on these, I've done episodes alittle bit like this on the in
the past where I talk aboutthese moments of truth. And
these are basically anythingthat you are currently
experienced, but you add nothingmore to it. So it's basically,
(09:00):
what are you seeing and focusingon that without adding any extra
story, it's like, you know, you're looking at color, you're
looking at shapes, you'relooking at structure. But
without trying to, you know, write a thesis on, oh, I think
it's this type of green, andit's that type of whatever. Just
like, try to just really noticewhat you are seeing like it's
(09:21):
the most important thing thatyou've ever seen, whatever it
is. Same thing with what you arehearing like, just the tonality,
the cadence, the pattern, thevibrancy, without worrying too
much about the content. Don'tworry. Your biological mind is
going to be capturing all thatshit and going to be able to
have it. But this is somethingyour mind is incredibly
(09:41):
powerful, and actually do many, many things at once. You You
know, it's already doingmultiple things at once, because
you're you're breathing, yourheart is beating, you've got
your intestinal track is likelydigesting, or preparing to
digest, or doing. Your skin isdoing all of these things to,
you know, bring in stuff fromthe outside and keep things out.
And it's sloughing off cellsthat it no longer needs. Like
(10:03):
your system is incredible. Itcan do it so much more if only
you allow it to. And when youallow it to have more truth,
just more touching in with whatactually is, instead of the
nonsense that is your thoughts, then you're going to have so
much ease, so much calm, so muchmore peace. So again, it's your
vision, it's your hearing, it'syour touch. It's what's the
(10:27):
sensation like? What is thetemperature, what is the
roughness, the smoothness, thesensation of whatever you might
be touching or might be touchingyou, your clothing, your seat,
you know, whatever you might behave putting in your hands, or
just even your hands itself, touching your own skin, to your
skin. There's so much going on,so much possibility. Right? Then
(10:49):
there's your breath, noticingyour breath. What's it like as
it is? Just, you know, what'sthe temperature of the air going
in, and how, why does your chestexpand, and how much does your
belly shift? And there's so muchgoing on with your breath. And
as we said, there's just thenoticing the nature that you are
thinking without worrying aboutwhat the fuck is being thought
(11:10):
this that you are thinking andjust going like, oh, that's
happening. That's happening,right?
All these things that you areexperiencing, anything related
to your present sensoryexperience, you can know for a
fact that that is true. It'shappening period in the story,
(11:31):
and again that is deeplyhealing, deeply calming, deeply
empowering. And from this space, you can choose what thoughts you
want to pay attention to ordirect your attention and your
intention to what you would liketo think about instead. So
(11:52):
doesn't make those thoughts anymore true. It just makes them
more beneficial to what it isthat you would like to
experience what you would liketo do, and just that slight
shift, just even just a fewmoments a day where you get this
is going to have huge impacts, huge impacts over time, where
(12:15):
you can just cut some nonsensethat might be triggering some
anger might be triggering somefrustration might be triggering
some some unnecessary sadness.
Again, it's not about not havingthese feelings, these emotions.
There's actually nothing wrongwith them. It's about the mind
creating them out of nowherethat is not benefiting you. It's
(12:37):
just going into a loop, into apattern, buying into the
bullshit of your own mind that'sbeen thinking the thoughts that
likely you didn't decide tothank them. They were put on you
through experiences and fromwhat other people said. And now
it's time to see your own mind, recognize your own thoughts, and
have a chance to think newthoughts. And the pathway
(12:59):
through that is by going out ofthe bullshit, out of the lies of
your thoughts, into the truth ofyour present experience. And
from there, you can begin to seeyour thoughts for what they
truly are, and decide, oh, whatthoughts would I rather have?
And when you are choosing yourthoughts. You really are
(13:20):
choosing the world that you wantto be experiencing. And some of
you might be going like, this iswild, this is crazy, this is
ridiculous. There's no wayJustin's full of it. He's
finally lost it. Yet some of youmight be going like, there's
something here. And then there'sprobably even another amount of
you that's like, absolutely, totally, 100% get it. Wherever
you are on this, we're all inthis together of figuring out
(13:48):
what is, what is true, and whatdo we want to, not necessarily
make true, but what do we wantto make part of our of our
experience, right? Because ifyou think of the landscape of
thoughts as a as a movie, nomovies are true, even the ones
that are supposedly based on atrue story or documentary.
(14:12):
There's so many people that havebeen the subject of
documentaries that go like, well, that the way that that
came across was total bullshit.
That's not how it actuallyhappened. They did some editing.
Because, again, there's alwaysthe filtering, there's always
what's left out, what'srepeated, what's focused on. So
again, be the director of yourown life. Choose your own
(14:33):
thoughts, but do this bysettling in on what is true. And
what's true is the raw materialsthat you're working with, and
these are your your thoughtsthat you're thinking, your
breath, your physicalsensations, your vision and your
hearing, without puttinganything, without letting the
(14:56):
thoughts get involved in any ofthat. So I'd love. Hear what you
think about this. Yeah, so justlet me know. And a lot of the
things that I've been teachinghere over the years, they really
are all about getting you intothis truth, so then you can
create the thoughts or the focuson the thoughts that are going
(15:18):
to get you the life and theexperiences and the adventure
and the connections that youdesire to have more of. And this
desire is it's national part ofbeing human. It's a good thing,
the being stuck in it, that'soptional. That's optional.
You're going to have desire.
You're going to have thoughts, but getting stuck in the old
thoughts, that's something thatis not necessary. That's
(15:39):
something that you can get outof. And by focusing on what is
true, which is your presentexperience, that is the pathway
to getting to what you trulywant in life, and I want that
for you. So if there's anythingthat you have questions about,
shoot me a note. So good be youknow, back here, back in my home
(15:59):
studio here, it's a beautiful, sunny day. This is a really
exciting time of year, becausewhere I live near a sea wall,
and every year, the winterbatters it, and rocks fall off
and things like that, and thisis the time of year that they
repair it so there's heavymachinery down in the sand,
moving rocks, moving sand, doingthe repairs. It's bananas. So
(16:24):
I'll probably have some picturesand videos of that posted for so
if you want check that out.
Yeah, so I don't know, I'm likea kid getting to see that stuff.
So with that, thanks so much andwishing you well, and we'll see
you next time. Good day. Thanksfor tuning in to engineering
