Ever wonder why some business leaders seem stuck while others scale effortlessly? The secret might be in the questions they ask.

The journey from startup to scalable business follows a predictable evolution of questions. When we begin, we're trapped in the "How can I?" mindset - trying to accomplish everything through personal effort. As we mature, our questions evolve: "How can we do this?" acknowledges the power of teamwork. Then comes "Who can help me?" followed by "Who's the best person for this task?" - representing the critical shift toward delegation. True scaling begins with "Who can I hire?" and culminates in the ultimate question: "What company can I buy to accomplish this goal?"

This question evolution reveals your position on the business growth spectrum. Are you stuck doing everything yourself when you should be delegating?

The upcoming Asheville Business Summit in September offers a perfect opportunity to connect with other business leaders, gain new perspectives, and potentially find mentors who can help elevate your question quality. Whether you're struggling with specific challenges or seeking new growth opportunities, sometimes the most valuable thing isn't an answer - it's a better question. Reach out for a coffee chat if you'd like to discuss how to evolve your business questions and scale your company more effectively.

A to them and B to you Thinkabout it.
Hey, look forward to seeing youat the summit.
Today I want to talk to youabout the evolution of questions

(01:34):
in your life.
One of the things that you needto become better at is asking
the right questions.
Some of that comes down tolearning, so you got to have a
good mentor.
You got to know which.
That's going to come down tothe quality or knowledge.
The quality of knowledge isgoing to allow you to ask better

(01:56):
questions.
So, if you really want to askbetter questions, get a better
mentor.
You won't get a better mentor.
You're going to get betterknowledge.
Better knowledge is going toallow you to ask better
questions.
But let me give you an exampleof an evolution of a question
over the period of your businesscareer.
So maybe when you start out inbusiness maybe you're by

(02:19):
yourself, maybe you don't have alot of team members you start
out with the question how can I?
So there's a task, there's agoal how can I accomplish this
goal?
Well, okay, that's a greatquestion in the beginning, and
then it becomes a betterquestion.
Might be because it's hard todo anything by yourself in life

(02:39):
and in business.
You just can't do this stuff byyourself.
So a better question might behow can we do the thing?
How can we do whatever it is toachieve the goal, whatever it
is?
Hey, an even better questionmight be who can I get to help

(03:00):
me do the thing?
Let me take it to another level.
Another level would be who isthe best person that I could
assign to do this thing?
The next level who can I hireto do this thing?

(03:23):
Because we maybe don't haveanybody in the business who can
do it.
I need to hire somebody to dothe thing.
And if you take it even to anultimate level, it's what can I
buy?
What company could I buy thatcould accomplish the thing that
I want to accomplish?
What do I need to start?

(03:45):
What kind of company do we needto buy?
Because if you buy a company, you get a whole bunch of people.
Can you see how the questiongot better?
It went from how can I?
To we, to who, to how can weaccomplish it?
Who's the best person?
Who can I hire to?
Ultimately, why don't I justbuy a company to do it?

(04:08):
So if you'd like to evolve yourquestions, if you'd like to get
better at questions, if you'dlike to figure out how to get
yourself from how can I do it tohow can I buy companies to do
it.
That's what we do here.
We help people scale theirbusinesses.
We'd love to have a chat withyou about it.

I'll buy your cup of coffee.

Hey, I hope this was useful.
I want you to think aboutasking the better question next
time.
What's the better question?

head, ask yourself what's thebetter question?
