community here in Asheville.
We're super excited about it.
Hey, just go out to WNCbusiness I'm sorry, wncsummitcom
.
All the information is there.
You'll find it in there.
Now, today I want to talk aboutmy wife and you're like whoa,
(01:07):
what do you want to talk aboutyour wife?
For?
That's crazy.
Look, my wife has a gift andI've been studying this gift for
about 40 years and it'sremarkable what she can find out
about people, and so she's gota gift for connecting to people.
(01:29):
Now I've got a little bit ofthis gift.
There's some intuition to it,there's some skill to it,
there's some just actualattitude to it.
So I'm going to give you mytake on why it works, and I mean
I'll give you an example.
We were just, we just did aretreat with our clients and
you're going to want to go onthis retreat next year too.
(01:52):
We did.
We went to Curacao and we it'sa personal development retreat
we worked and we had fun and wefamilies were there.
It was, it was great.
But just as an example, butjust as an example, my wife was
able to find out from our serverhow old she was, where she went
to college, what her ambitionswere, who her relatives were.
(02:17):
It's unbelievable what she canfind out about people in a short
period of time.
It's a real gift, but I thinkit's a gift that all of us can
learn from.
All of us should be more likeher and learn more about people,
because life happens not inhere, not out there.
(02:37):
Life happens between people.
That's where life happens.
So here's a couple of things, characteristics that my wife has
that I think are unbelievable, and she's just a genius at
people and understanding andfinding out what's going on.
She's got a real gift inside anorganization for knowing
(02:59):
everything about what'shappening in the organization
and you should, by the way, ifyou're running a company that's
big enough to have employees, then you should have someone in
your organization who is likethat, who can keep tabs on
everything that's going on.
But as far as finding outthings fast from people, the
first thing is she's interested.
(03:20):
She's not trying to beinteresting.
Instead, she's not trying to beinteresting, she's interested
in them.
She asks questions about them,it's all about them, and it
comes across that she actuallydoes care.
So interested and caring.
She really wants to know.
She's curious.
(03:40):
She's just naturally curious, trying to find, trying to
understand how people work andwhere their brains are and where
you know, getting informationhelps her determine what that is
.
She's also friendly and she'salso enthusiastic.
She smiles a lot.
She's not.
She doesn't approach them, youknow, in a threatening scally.
(04:02):
I'm in a bad mood, kind of.
So I mean, you're not going tofind out much from somebody if
you're not friendly.
She comes with energy, shebrings a certain energy to the
conversation and she's a goodlistener.
She listens well, she paysattention, she picks up on cues,
she's good at body language, she's good at verbal cues, she's
(04:25):
very good at hearing what'sgoing on, and this is something
that she's naturally good at,but she's also worked at it.
This is not something that youjust are born with.
You have to get into this.
So my question to you is whatdo you need to do to learn more
about people?
Now, this skill comes in handyall the time, because you never
(04:47):
know.
I remember when I was veryyoung, one of my friends' dads
owned a bank, and I don't knowwhy.
We were even together, but wewere there, and somewhere along
the way his dad said you can'tknow enough good people.
It's so true, you can't knowenough good people.
(05:07):
When you're out, you'renetworking.
How fast can you find outwhat's going on?
Can you find out?
A lot of times, I mean, sometimes, we find out we're
related to people that we didn'teven know we were related to.
Because of this thing.
It's pretty cool.
It's pretty cool, but this is agreat skill for making
connections to connections thatcould eventually help you grow
your business.
(05:28):
So be interested, beenthusiastic, smile a lot Care,
bring energy to whatever it isyou're doing.
Make sure that you get outthere and learn as much as you
can.
Be curious and you're going tofind out.
Amazing things are going tohappen in your life as a result
(05:50):
of finding out these connectionswith people, so I hope you find
that useful.
I look forward to talking toyou If you need help.
You just want to sit down.
You just want to have a cup ofcoffee.
Maybe you got one questionabout your business, or I got
one the other day.
It was basically how do I givesomebody a raise?
Just a simple question aboutanything business related.
(06:13):
I'm happy to have a chat withyou, jason's happy to have a
chat with you.
Beth is happy to have a chatwith you.
All you need to do is justreach out to us and we'll be
happy to grab a cup of coffeewith you.
