Just when you thought October was safe again... it's another franchise!!
This year, Pete is hunting for the sequels to one of the greatest movies of all time, Jaws! Somehow, this cinema classic got not only one, but three sequels. And one of them is even a requel, starting well before Halloween made that its defining feature.
Jaws 2, from 1978, is a mix of the classic Jaws formula and the then-budding slasher genre. This one features a ton of teenagers stranded in a remote location getting picked off one by one. And this time, the vengeful shark even has a horribly scarred face like all the slasher greats.
The Brody family returns from the first film, as does the slimy mayor of Amity. Somehow, the local government STILL does not take Chief Brody seriously when he cries shark. However, no Quint and no Hooper means this movie only has a third of the charm as its predecessor.
