(00:27):
Welcome to the hot Seat, Joe Stanley. All Right, what's
your coffee order? Number one?
Speaker 2 (00:33):
Almond Lato? Yes?
Speaker 1 (00:35):
Think good choice, good choice. Well, I feel like I
owe you one next time I see you for doing
the pod. Are you a sweet or savory gal?
Speaker 2 (00:44):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (00:44):
Savory hot chips every time? Hot That's because you're an
AFL fiend, right, like hot chips at the MCG watching
the pies.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
Quite honestly, I couldn't watch football without a bucket of
hot chips. You've nailed that.
Speaker 1 (01:00):
Do you have a favorite city in the world?
Speaker 2 (01:04):
I think, sadly, it's probably Melbourne, where I've lived my
entire life.
Speaker 1 (01:08):
Well, it's a pretty darn good city. It's so livable.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
I mean, I love New York, I love Paris, love London,
but yeah, Melbourne No.
Speaker 1 (01:17):
Malves is pretty special. What about do you have a
favorite nature spot, like or like holiday destination.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
I think Hawaii might be my favorite holiday destination. You've
got the beach heaven, You've got warm water, which you
know I don't swim in Australia it's freezing. Water is
always cold year round. And if you want to get
to like a rainforest, if you want to get to
(01:46):
obviously you've got the ball. I mean, you've got everything right.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
Yeah, it ticks all the boxes, even if you're on
I love Hawaii to Honolulu. Their botanical gardens is off
the chart, like Jurassic Park level. You're like, what how
did this just happen?
Speaker 2 (02:00):
It's deeply spiritual place. It's yeah, I love it. Say
shopping that I know.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
I was going to say, there's a good tax kick
shopping in a way. Okay, so this episode's coming out
around Christy time. Do you have a favorite holiday tradition
like for me being a Melbourneite as well, Dennis Walter,
Carol's by candle Light is like something me and my
dad watch every Christmas Eve? Or was there something Willow loves.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
Let me see? I mean, Christmas is always about eating
too much. And you know, every year we try not
to prepare too much food for the Christmas lunches and dinners.
You know, you do the alternating with the in laws
and who's turned into to cook this year and all that,
And every time I'm like, why do I have a
(02:53):
fridge full of leftovers?
Speaker 1 (02:54):
Just buy less? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (02:56):
I know, I do it.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
You're eating it for a week. It's always, It's always
the way.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
Do you have Actually just sorry, I've come up with
a better Christmas tradition? Yeah all right, well, lalla, you
might disapprove of this being a nutritionist, do not shame me, okay,
but every year at Christmas, I buy a Christmas Ham,
like a really big ham on the bone, and I
(03:25):
every day would cut off a chunk of that ham
and just eat it standing over the kitchen bench. And
I'm telling you, every day, I say to myself, today
is going to be a pork free day. I Am
not going to do it. And then I get to
eleven am and I am literally it's like I'm picking
up that and eating it like a drumstick. I just
(03:47):
love the ham on the bone and just chunks a
ham that chunks are actually not.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
A bad health thing, really, isn't it.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
I thought it was too salty or too much for me.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
Now you're fine, it's very paleo qito. So just roll
with it. I'd roll with it, my friend. Final question,
and it might be around curiosity, but I just I'd
love to know if there's something you live by, if
it's like a little like I know for you, meditation,
mindfulness is really important. But is there some kind of
(04:22):
like motto or anything you live by?
Speaker 2 (04:25):
Well, I live for mottos. I have so many that
I returned to here because I did do a podcast
once with Emma Murray, who's a mindfulness coach, one of
the greatest transformative experiences of my life, and she said
to me, a belief is a thought you've had often enough.
So I was like, oh my god. Affirmations are why
they work, right, I'm obsessed with them. So my favorite
(04:48):
one that I often go to would be freedom lines
in being bold. Oh that's from Robert Frost. And you know,
bold can look like many different things. It can be
started your own radio network, or it could be I'm
going to say no today, but we you know, challenge
(05:11):
yourself to make the bold decision and suddenly you will
be free.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
I love it, Joe Stanley. I can't wait to hang
out with you again. To the listener, when are you here?
When can we? Like ever? I know I'm come home
and in person catch up. I know we have to.
We're staying put in America, chasing these dreams for a
little while. But I will be letting you know the
second that I'm heading Melb's way, and I'll hold you
to that catch up. I'll shout you an almond latte. Mate.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
Cannot wait.
Speaker 1 (05:40):
Thank you to the listener, Go down, go out and
download broad radio app. It is unreal and you can
go back and listen to all the pasteps. And I
didn't know it was a curated pod channel as well.
How cool.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
Yes, yes, we've got a talk babe love space for you.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
Yes, please, thank you, my friend,
