Speaker 1 (00:01):
Welcome to your diary episode. Here's the thing. I'm a
bit of a nomad, so these episodes come to from
wherever I'm living or traveling to at the time, so
I'll share with you what's going on in my world,
from book tours, animal encounters, delish meals, nature adventures, health
discoveries to swimming in Hidden Byron Bay Beaches. Come with
(00:25):
me as I share my adventures with you. Hello, my friends,
Los Angeles actor diary update for you. Lots to update
you on. So since we last spoke, did an audition
for an Aussie commercial which was a lot of fun
(00:47):
and it was technically a voiceover audition, but I've never
been asked to do this for a voiceover audition. Before
I recorded the vo which is essentially the way you're
hearing me now, I honestly I just used my pod gigs.
It's such full sound quality and great mics and all
of that jazz. And then they ask for it also
as a self tape, like connecting with the audience, and
(01:08):
so I recorded the vo which was so fun and easy,
and then I recorded a couple of takes as a
self tape which was quite fun too, and let me
like play around with like the cadence a bit and
the tone of it all. But the tone was like fun, confident,
And of course doing an Aussie audition means that I
(01:31):
get to keep my strowing accent. And so when you're
keeping your Aussie accent, it is so much easier in
a sense because you're not going through the filter of like,
you know, oh my god, is my dialect right, like
you've got to like it's like it just adds an
extra filter when you've got to put it through a dialect.
(01:51):
It's so fun to do dialects, but it with auditions usually,
like I think in this case, we had a three
day window to learn it, and it's quite hard to
like hit the dialect in a small amount of time
and deliver a really good audition. So when it's your
natural accent, it's really easy because you can just focus
on the acting. That's my take on it. Anyway, But
I love I love doing an American accent. I love
(02:14):
my trigger vow sentence is she was seen to be
evil in the mean streets where bees feed and schemes
are the key. That's my American trigger phrase, not phrase
like dialect thing. So anyway, it was fun because it
was aussy, it was really really easy and just chill
(02:38):
felt very natural. And then today I'm putting down a
self tape for a medical procedural drama. One of my
dreams in America is I've got a few dreams, but like,
I'd love to book a procedural drama as a regular.
It essentially sets your life up, like it's really good hours,
really good pay, really good health benefits, and then you
(02:58):
can go back to Australia and do some great work
as well, and it just sets you up career wise,
and it's super secure as far as jobs go. And
so sitcoms or procedural any kind of procedural drama. So
procedural drama can be like a Gray's Anatomy, like a
medical drama. It can be like a nine one one
(03:19):
Chicago Fire, Chicago med. These all procedural dramas. I even
think things like Law and Order are totally procedural dramas too,
but they're just legal ones, I think. So it's kind
of my goal to I really want to do a
sitcom procedural drama, and I really want to do a
Christmas movie because I just love Crimbo. So that's kind
(03:41):
of what I'm focused on for this year. I've just
signed with an amazing manager, Holly. If you hear this, Holly,
You're unreal. And I say it every week and she's
just so inspiring and really gets me as far as
like my passion and my dream and my goals and
all of that. Go night we're seeing mumfort and suns.
(04:02):
I'm so excited I'll probably cry. Definitely gonna get me
some merch. Definitely gonna get little tea little T shirt,
maybe a key chain, you know, key ring. Really excited
about that. We've just had a full moon Sagittarius. Now
I'm Saggy rising, so Virgo sun Virgo moon Sagittarius rising.
This one hit me. It was like so much cool
(04:25):
work stuff was happening, like the audition's coming through. I
booked a really cool podcast gig, you know, really exciting
stuff was coming through, and then like other things were
feeling clunky, like just around other work things here, and
I was just like, oh, why does that feel clunky
when all like the acting stuff the pod staff feels
(04:45):
really good. So it's just been like a bit of
a shake up and probably a really great lesson in
realigning my passion, my dama. Like, I did some journaling
last night right before I went to bed, and I
it was just about what I I wanted to let
go of, because full moons are often about letting go.
New moons are about like seating new ideas, and so
it was all about like, like for me, like letting
(05:09):
go of stuff that doesn't light me up, because the
stuff that lights me up is popping off like it's
working right. But obviously, because I'm a person that likes
to feel really financially secure, I'm not willing to I'm like,
h like it's scary to just sit in that space,
if that makes sense. So anyway, just interesting. It's so
(05:30):
fascinating the way the world will push you more like
or the universe, world, whatever you want to call it,
energy pushes you more towards your passion. And I think
like around that full moon time, it's like often an
opportunity to like let go, transform, step up to the plate,
all those kind of things. I have been dog sitting,
(05:52):
or Matt and I have been dog sitting for our French.
Now she's got this beautiful black lab called Mahalo. Oh,
such a dream, Such a dream, my friends, she's just
like the sweetest thing. She is a mama bear. She's
a mama bear for the Guide Dogs. She's this amazing dog.
You know. We love her, we love her, we love her.
(06:14):
And we finished the last of us. I think I
told you that last time we chit chatted. And then
we started watching The Pit, which is a procedural medical
drama which is really called really quick Pace. Same showrun
as of Ear, which, if you're old enough to remember
that was that was like my mum's favorite show every
Thursday night, eight thirty pm. George Clooney in Ear. And
(06:36):
I still remember the theme music to Ear. Oh my god,
I should look it up. It's so good. Does anyone
I'm like, I love that. I'm expecting a call and
response here. Does anyone remember the theme music for Ear? Surelye, surely,
surely let me see if I can look it up.
I'm turning to trust a YouTube for this theme music. Er,
(07:02):
let's see. Oh my god, it's coming up, It's coming up.
Are you ready for this? I'm gonna turn the vole
up a little bit and let me know if you
remember this. It was the best like titles music. Oh,
there's ads, of course, on YouTube, Hang on a sex
soon as it goes? Okay, here we go, Here we go?
Oh my god, another ad? Shit? Sorry, sorry, sorry, I'm
(07:26):
trying to turn it down. Here goes skip now? Can
you skip? Here we go? Do you remember this ah
(07:54):
e R theme song? Amazing also launched George Gloinney his
career such alleged I'm pretty sure it did. He's also
a legend. If you want the best podcast with George Clooney,
listened to him on SmartLess. Such a funny human being,
very very curl, very very funny. Ps. Speaking of George Clooney,
(08:14):
Mum went and saw him in good Night and good
Luck in New York and it looked amazing and the
matinee and then that night's performance seeing in ed live
here in America and I got to watch someone but
it was so good. I only caught the end of it,
but it was still like amazing. And Mum also saw
Denzel Washington and j Jillen hall in Othello and Denzel
(08:37):
came out after and she's got like piggies of Denzel
signing autographs next to Sage door. How curl will so curl? Okay,
I am going to pull some angel cards right now
for you, but also for me. I feel like I
need a bit of a energy reset today after the
(08:59):
full moon. Yes, yes, today, I think I told you this.
Mum and I am meeting up in Memphis then going
to Nashville. That's all happening this weekend. So we're meeting
in Memphis. Fun fact, Memphis is a long way from
LA like twelve hours to fly to stop off in
Atlanta and then you go on to Memphis. And then
(09:21):
so I was like, how do I my guy for this?
And so I'm doing a couple of nights in Memphis
with Mum, and then I'm staying one extra night on
my own and getting a bus service, but like a
bougie bus service to Nashville, and then I'm doing an
afternoon Nashville and then flying out of Nashville. I don't
know if it will work, but I just thought, oh, well,
I'm in that area. I'm in Tennessee, like I may
(09:41):
as well go to both places. But Mum is a
mad Elvis fan. So for her birthday, I got it
to this graceland and we're just gonna have a fun
old time. I believe all right, I've done it. It
feels like an air shuffle them one more time. Sorry,
being a little bit of a hippie Woo woo witchy
very over here. Got to trust that feeling when it
(10:04):
says it needs more shuffling. Oh, I can't ge have
how good that er theme song is? Love it? I
love when theme songs like stay with You like that.
I think I love the last of Us music too. Okay,
you know, douay one's fallen out. Actually, I'll do this
last one with my eyes. Shirt trays all right, So
(10:27):
I pull past present future. This is the way my
nan taught me past Make a wish. This is a
magical moment. Make a wish and enjoy its manifestations. You
can do that right now. For right now is contemplation time.
Spend time alone meditating upon what you truly desires. Maybe
do that before you make the wish, and then simplify
your life. Eliminate clutter from your home and work life
(10:48):
to balance the flow of activities. The card that fell
out is positive energy. Surround yourself with positive people and
situations and avoid negativity. Oh, I feel like we needed
that love. That top of the deck is weight. Don't
rush into action right now bide your time for better results.
Bottom of the deck alchemy. You have the Midas touch
(11:11):
right now. Every project you begin turns to gold. Love
all of these. This is gorge brilliant. Love love, love,
love love. I think my favorite is positive energy. It's
this picture of like the deck I use is mermaids
and dolphins, and it's a picture of like one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven,
(11:41):
twelve dolphins. Just chillin together. Surround yourself with positive people
and situations and avoid negativity. Love that, love it, love it,
Love it radio. The last thing I want to mention
is the trailer came out for the pilot that I
shot called Code. It's so fun. It is like quirky,
(12:04):
offbeat obviously comedy, so so much fun. Boss also composed
the music on the trailer as well. Such a beautiful
group of people that worked on at the showrunners Western
and Wade are so talented. They're actually going to be
on Monday's podcast episode, so that's really exciting, and they're
doing they're setting up crowdfunding for the last bit of
(12:27):
the last push of edits for the pilot, which is
so exciting because they have literally built this from scratch
and it's just so cool to see it all together
and see how amazing they've got the production values and
I'm just yes, so pumped for them. So that's all
going to come out on Monday. All the details around
(12:49):
the pilot how you can support them, are going to
be in the show notes on Monday. And we actually
I found a studio in La and we filmed this one,
so it's going to be a filmed as well as audio.
How cool, all right, mega mega love, And yeah, if
(13:09):
you haven't seen the trailer yet, it's up on Instagram.
I posted it as a real with the boys, so
you can totally just go have a look and obviously
show some support by hopefully liking it or sharing it
with your buttos or just throw on a heart comment.
Any of that stuff is so helpful and thank you,
thank you. And I'm going to end again on this
(13:31):
card positive energy. Surround yourself with positive people and situations
and avoid negativity and I will tell you all about
munth and suns and it's going to be all over
my Instagram, like there's no tomorrow. I'm so excited, so excited.
I'm going to get merch and I'm going to cry.
I'm sure all right. Big love, hooru, You're unreal.
