Dr. Deborah Stroman, UNC’s Director of the Center of Sports Business and Professor of Sports Business Entrepreneurship, joins Glenn on the Field to discuss the qualities of a good athletic leader, why leadership development in sports is so important, and the most important leadership skills athletes should possess. She also talks about what it means to be an athletic leader and why athletes who can lead themselves and their teammates effectively, are captain-worthy to lead their team. A once standout basketball player at UVA, Deborah talks about her leadership abilities that made her team captain on the court and how she now empowers athletes to develop as leaders and take an active role in their leadership abilities.
