Hello everybody and welcome to episode - the balls harden

(00:04):
episode the balls harden of the Final Three Braincells podcast- sorry, episode seven of the Final Three Braincells podcast with
I'm NanoBunTV and
John Coday - there you go there you go, and - Gears
Every time you talk that quietly I have to make like three or four clicks to raise your volume every single fucking time

(00:25):
You've no idea how - I got this I got this... GEARS!!!
Yes
Now I have to lower it to you you we need to we need to set up a compressor
I got pickles in the background
Did I hear spubsy go PICKLES is that what I heard
No

(00:56):
Anyways, what do we talk about today? Oh, yeah
That was in your door is real can we get much higher?
We weren't able to record in the day cuz I was at LARP. Mm-hmm
we were not able to record though, uh, like three or four days after the game came out because
We skipped a week of recording for once because he was at LARP, but we'll talk about that

(01:18):
But because it was pretty cool. Well, maybe I was during the weekend of the dozen or really saying yes the weekend
I'm like, hmm
I wasn't even going to be around in the first place as well you John was busy because he wanted to get through the whole
Game and like four streams four days straight and he did so
I've been taking my sweet-ass time and three streams in I am

(01:40):
Just finished chapter two
I'm taking my time and then you're slow. I'm a hooks castle
He just arrived at hooks castle. I
Know I didn't just arrive. I'm right around I'm at the point so I had to go hook tails castle
Yeah, so I just got the the fucking thing that kept me from like getting like further on than where I am right now is

(02:03):
One fucking door and puzzle that kept pissing me off with one thing
It's the one where you had to turn to a plane to get to on to the fucking platform to get onto the door
The door but I don't have control of the plane yet because I don't know how to control it as well as everybody else does
I finally just got it while I was in the car sitting there to pick up my fiance from work

(02:29):
I'm really happy that you know gears, and I've never played thousand-year door
Here's all the context John owns five GameCubes. He's played the game a few times
I have I've only played the original Paper Mario for the
10th nothing that Nintendo did it before she's before
Twice I played it twice played it once recently and I played it once when I was a lot younger

(02:51):
Here's never played a paper Mario game in his life, so we have the whole range. Yeah, yeah
So it's a really interesting mix here
I'm really like it is like the best way to have a conversation if yet is if you have an expert you have someone who
Like is pretty into it and like has experience
But not with the particular one and then someone has no fucking idea what they're doing

(03:14):
It's it's perfect. It's like a nice. It's like a gradient. We have right here. We have a we have a gradient editor
nano put like a
Soup
It'll make sense editor nano put a photo of soup over a gear space
Actually, no keep a photo keep a photo of soup just like down in the bottom
right corner

(03:35):
But just like halfway exactly halfway through the episode change your down there change the bowl of soup PNG down there to
a picture of soups VR instead like exactly halfway through the episode like at the print like like edit the whole
podcast and
Exit and then determine exactly what the midway point is and then change it. Hello editor nano here

(03:58):
I'm not doing any of that. It's like four in the morning, and I'm tired, and I want to go to bed
Fuck you. I am not adding a PNG of soups VR into the fucking corner halfway through the ship
I'm going to forget goodbye. Can we just put soup somewhere? Yeah, but only exactly
See three of the jump cut it just goes from me over here to over here

(04:21):
This bit is way too complicated
Yeah, of course so that's so many fucking times last episode
Yeah, so a bit of context as well before we get into all the thousand-year-old stuff and all the other things
We're going to talk about today
Hi, we're once again recording this in the wonderful world of VR chat
We're sitting on the couch virtually except John John is once again parents house, so he's the cardboard cutout, but you can see

(04:44):
Yeah, our board cut out, but you can see this nice visual of his IRL face
Audio listeners love you to death if you want to go see John's face
Oh watch this episode on YouTube or Spotify if you're on a job
I'm talking himself if you want to see my face and just not Google my name then yeah, I go for it
Yeah, John

(05:05):
Speaking of your name real quick didn't I think I think someone in OSHA the other day
And they probably sent this to you. It was a John Cody obituary
Yeah, I
Don't know who that is yes, I'm not John Cody in Washington DC. I don't know there is multiple John Cody's around in like different places

(05:29):
That yeah are
Sorry, let's have a moment. I guess I'm now dead, but I don't know
But yeah, like there's multiple John Cody's in different places, and it's like motherfucker
John there's only one
I have a moment of silence for John yeah, I

(05:50):
Said silence oh, sorry
Anyway so so thousand year door
the thousand year
Door let's talk about
To add a little bit more information. This is the what we're what we're mainly playing is the Nintendo Switch remake so

(06:14):
That we've had so me and nano are streaming well. I already streamed it
Nano is currently streaming it and then gears is just having a good time
Yeah, like I said I already streamed it
I think I streamed in terms of my total game gameplay time was about 30 hours of
Game time I think it was probably about 33 to 34

(06:37):
stream hours
Somewhere around there would you say that for that for the game you were like speeding through the dialogue or like were you really taking your sweet time for it
No, I was taken that was me taking my sweet time because we we read all of the dialogue and like voiced all the characters or as many characters as we
Could so it was so

(06:59):
for my stream
It was not entirely like a stream a thon type of thing because I did stop it between certain areas
Mm-hmm of time whenever like I would I had to like stop and stop streaming. I
Didn't like keep the stream going. I stopped the stream and all that kind of stuff. So but
it was just basically like
From the time that the game released to whenever I beat the game

(07:22):
I would just continually stream and it was all also done for charity as well. So we have supported
American Association for cancer research. That's yeah what I usually support
Whatever I do charity work
And so it was also like a group of others that also kind of joined in for that
So I had different co-coms and stuff for there. So people I'm gonna shout out here is a

(07:43):
Marcielus bubblegum
She helped out a ton in that Dipper G Queen I've actually or as I call them stampede who else joined into some of the calls
Call me Cree boy art VR Raven. Yeah, it's just those groups of people
Big I'll shout out to them because they definitely helped out a lot to keep my sanity going
Essentially, so I really losing your mind just because how long it was

(08:07):
Just because I don't like I don't
Typically stream for for very long. I typically like to stream about like two to three hours ish
and so
whenever the shortest stream that you've done throughout like the past like
Four days is about four and a half to five hours. It's not

(08:28):
And then your longest stream is I think it went up to about 15 hours
Mm-hmm. Yeah you
You will lose your mind whenever you don't typically stream that much. So absolutely
Yeah gears you can relate to this stream. Yeah, you you stream you have an online presence, right?
It's opposite day. I have streamed before but

(08:53):
For my stream so far it's been uh, it's been great cuz I've had a just I've just been sitting in my streaming channel
I had a bunch of people pop up as well
I've still been the one voice acting all the characters
I'm not I've been trying super hard with the voice acting but I've still like been trying a fair bit
Most of these streams have been like after a long workday as well. So, um, like, you know, I'm a bit

(09:16):
I'm a bit drained my meds have worn off and I'm feeling kind of a bit sluggish a bit silly
But it's been absolutely fucking fantastic so far and I cannot wait to do some more here. I think um, I
Also have to stream Monday
I think I don't know my schedule right now is a fucking mess because I have to stream thousand-year-door

(09:36):
But I also need to go to work and then I also am behind on like three video projects and like two
virtual booth conventions
Sorry to virtual booths for virtual conventions. Yeah, and I need to get all that stuff done before like
before

(09:56):
mid-june, so I've got like a week or two
Yeah, by the time this episode comes out I have a good feeling that I'll actually have I'll still be playing thousand-year-door
I'll still be going through it
Um, maybe not today specifically. Yeah. No, cuz we record episodes on the same day that they go up. So I'll be busy recording

(10:19):
two episodes from now or something but
Tomorrow if you're watching this on Dave release tomorrow, I'll probably be streaming some more thousand-year-door
Yeah
We're not gonna talk about the release schedule of this show because it's kind of a mess right now
Today's episode is a day late and last week's episode was like two or three days late. We don't talk about these
What do you think of the game so far?

(10:40):
Fucking amazing. So I told you this many times
I did not think it was possible to top Paper Mario for the Nintendo 64
Yeah, Paper Mario for the Nintendo 64 is now the bottom bitch in the relationship. Holy mother
Thousand-year-door is so good. It's so funny. It always throws me for a loop

(11:02):
I never know what's happening and the fact that I don't have any spoilers for the game
Really is really pleasing because all this shit is brand new to me. I love it
and also a lot of pretty much
most if not all the people that pop pop into the
Call when I'm streaming it as well like all them haven't played the game either
So it's like it's a it's really fun experience because of also just it's brand new

(11:25):
It's the whole thing of like oh you wish you could play this this game that you love like but you wish you could like
Wipe your memory of it and played for the first time again
That's me right now
The thousand-year-door to me feels like playing Paper Mario 64
For the first time yeah, because I played a paper Mario for the Nintendo 64 when I was like
I want to say like 13 14 ish

(11:46):
So it's like
There's a nostalgia factor that makes it feel like it was better than it was which is still amazing
Actually, I think it was still on par when I played it recently too, but um this is just so much better
It has that feeling of like wow paper. Sorry no
Paper yeah, I uh it was really neat for me because I everyone that like co-combed and everything

(12:10):
hadn't ever played it and
So nice they they got to they got to experience it
alongside
Kind of for the first time for them as well. I said it necessarily play
They just kind of got to experience the game just kind of through
My lens so I was able to kind of do a few things

(12:32):
In order to to kind of enhance the experience of them seeing it for the first time
So there'd be different ways towards like either the ways that I've voiced the character or different things that I would do in terms
Of like getting up to a certain point or it's like okay
I know what's going to happen in this and then you look oh
It's like when you're when you watch something with someone, but you know that they've like when you watch your movie someone

(12:52):
But you've seen it before but you know the other person haven't hasn't and you like look over to see their reaction right?
When you know something's coming up
Yeah
It's basically that same thing definitely a couple of moments essentially literally like that too
It's like I would just kind of listen into what they would they would say or something like what in the world like it was awesome

(13:14):
Gears, I want you to talk about that as you do it for a minute. What's your experience so far other than it's amazing
What more than I want to fuck a Koopa so bad god damn it
I knew he was gonna immediately start with mentioning this shit this fucker while I'm at work
while I'm at work sends me a photo of a
Goombet that's her name right doesn't a photo of her with the caption goombella. Sorry yeah um

(13:41):
Hold on where is it? Sorry? This is someone else's damns work where what exactly did you send me?
And then I met I met Koopa coo whatever her name is
Cooper coopy coo no your first message relating to this that you told me was I might come in a goomba and
quote
And I had to read that shit on my lunch break Lee I read that on my lunch break I

(14:06):
Was taking a backer I got that Scott does not prove
Imagine imagine right I'm I'm sitting at a table eating a fucking probably a pizza lunchable or something
I don't know because they're the ones that don't have lead in them which is nice
And I just do a spit take because gears is like I might come in a goomba
I'm like I'm gonna goomba and then I'll see the reaction of like 34

(14:30):
What she's in college? It's all fine
Yeah, that's what you said. They send me like a photo of your switches screen or your TV screen or whatever no
That's the switch screen. Yeah
You don't play on a TV which you know smash. Yeah, what what is it?
Yeah, you send me this the markiplier smash gif and then you send another photo of Goombella
And that was about all that conversation like I haven't had much conversation with you

(14:54):
Except for actually before recording today's episode. I saw that someone put a quote in the quotes channel in OSHA. That's you
two quotes from you one I want to fuck a goomba and
Another quote should I should I also say I want to fuck a koopa?
Oh

(15:14):
No
Gears is not ready for what will happen here soon. You are not ready for chapter 2. I can't wait
No, you're not ready for chapter 3. What the fuck? Okay, you don't tell me don't tell me
Do I get a fuck koopa in chapter 3?
Or is there more fuckables? I'm not gonna say

(15:37):
We'll know what I'm talking about
Okay
But other than that who's first reaction was to smash everything?
Just whack everything with a hammer. Yeah, I said I found out I could actually do it started hitting everything
Yeah, it's pretty cool that everything is a little bit interactable. I love that. I have been playing the game with the badge

(15:57):
Since I unlocked it. I've been playing it with the like the the old music badge
So it's playing just the original music from the Gamecube one
There's a badge somewhere you get in the game that requires zero BP to select that just plays the music from the Gamecube instead of
Like the slightly better remixed stuff. I have the one for the the one you needed to beat a the the the hook yeah

(16:17):
Yeah, the frog bad
Personally is kind of dumb because I went into the fight without it on and I don't think it was obvious enough that I needed it
No, it was it was mentioned a few times. It wasn't it wasn't mentioned directly. It was mentioned like a
Stub a badge you might need is somewhere in here
You may or may not have already found it, and I'm like if you okay

(16:41):
I guess I probably didn't mention that if you look at what it was fucking
They were like uber coop was wherever the fuck you want to cue whatever you want to call it
This one on it it actually had a note on it and basically and it says
For some reason the fuckers really scared of frog noises
so

(17:02):
Was that was that all within one stream? No, I think actually I read the note, and then I streamed a couple days later, so
Because I totally forgot about that
About the note until you mentioned it with the note
Okay, now it now. It's yeah, it's fair. It's it's fair, and it's actually not bullshit. It gave you the solution
I remember that, but it keeps I've wanted to do like a chapter a stream, but realistically that's not gonna happen so

(17:28):
Mm-hmm sometimes. It's just like it's really difficult to have to put a stopping point
And then when I dive back into it the first like 20 30 minutes of the following stream is like
I don't know what the fuck I'm doing
But no matter what it's still always fun, and I bounce back pretty quickly, and it's amazing
So gears started playing and it only took me about two hours to finish chapter one

(17:53):
But that's all you didn't finish after when you finish the prelogue
Okay, the prelogue and that was only because it I was just fucking around with shit. Yeah, I mean that's totally fair
There's so much shit to fuck around with
And then I went to I went and started chapter one today and from the start of chapter one
I got over to Hook's Tower within

(18:15):
Like an hour
Wow that sounds about right yes, that sounds right and then it took me about now. What about the flop game show?
That was my next thing I was gonna say that was
You would have experienced a game show in there now, did you?

(18:38):
I thought that was something they probably added into the game instead of like it being like from the old game
No, it was in the original Nintendo was smoking some wild shit in 2004, okay?
The entire GameCube area the era they were like the amount of weird stuff
Experimental stuff that they did in the GameCube era
I think double-dash is a great example crazy even though double-dash is one of my least favorite Mario carts

(19:03):
I don't personally like the swapping mechanic
But I think it's also again a case of Nintendo's on that wild shit Nintendo's is doing a bunch of wild stuff
I mean they they released Pikmin 1 & 2 on the GameCube. They were doing
Wild during that time, but it's like they were doing a lot of like experimentation with a lot of different stuff and
it's kind of like an era towards like

(19:25):
Like a little bit towards the tail end of the in 64. I say about whatever Paper Mario was
released to
About partway into the Wii
With the release of new Super Mario Brothers Wii they were happy with just a time frame of an era where a
Lot of stuff which is very experimental and they just did a bunch of like

(19:48):
Really off-the-wall stuff, especially in particular with the Mario franchise
I mean do remember the GameCube disc was honestly its own fucking experiment as well because that specific medium was not exactly
so silly and small
It was just being a rebellious child during that time. Oh, Nintendo's always been a rebellious child and I kind of like that

(20:09):
but yeah, that like
The new switch cartridges that they have the new like the basically the size of an SD card
It's basically an SD card that's been flashed with Nintendo of
Firmware and the game itself. Yeah, it's it's honestly like revolution
Cartridges those those tiny cartridges are able to fit like large games in them. I believe Skyrim is able to fit on it

(20:32):
Just fine. It's not even just Skyrim. You can you can fit there's a lot you can actually most of them
Yeah, you can be like able to hold a lot of data in it
So think of a think of a normal SD card think of a normal SD card
No, I get what you're talking about. Well, I'm making a point the the game cube disc don't

(20:53):
Those things were around during a time whenever
Xbox and PlayStation 2
Were around and those used full-size discs. So they would be able to store somewhere around
45 gigabytes on them the game cube this stored like
Like one point something like not even 1.5 like less than that. Yeah
That's the reason why we still have DVDs around and shit like that because that was the fucking shit that that

(21:17):
Conquered that was that yeah, that was a that was a century of the shit at the time
So it's just I don't understand entirely why Nintendo just went for smaller disc
I think there was there's something about like piracy or something that they were concerned about
but at the end of the day like it kind of killed a lot of their third-party support because
Games just got bigger and they were able to have a small little box of a console without

(21:41):
Cartridges, which was kind of silly because typically you want something that small you need a cartridge
That was there the that was the thing because again around that same time there was actually a little war going on between
Compact discs and whatever the fuck the GameCube was using which was actually a disc standard
It's just that it wasn't a popular disc standard because it didn't have as much memory space

(22:02):
So the CD later came out what the CD which is what replaced whatever the fuck the GameCube had
Afterwards and that was probably one of the cooler parts
Then the Wii was them still getting back onto that other thing and reprimanding their GameCube
Challenges it was them seeing which way which way it would go like how what is it?

(22:23):
What is it called the VHS tapes versus?
The other
No, no, there's a cassette
No, what's it? No, it wasn't cassettes that damn. What was it? Fuck? It's like on the tip of my tongue right now
There was another like
Contender for having like a big a bigger tape like a like a VHS

(22:45):
Yeah, it's basically the way that it was encoded onto it is is what it was more on
It's still the same electromagnetic beta max beta max beta max is a thinner tape that had less spool and actually had a different way
of encoding its uh
Video onto it and decoding it from it and it allowed for some little like scrap and sees now

(23:05):
Comparatively it did actually have a higher video fidelity and stuff like that, but there was one big problem
You can't store as much data on it as anything else
so
There's a whole entire video about this the dude
Go watch technology connections
There's this again. Yeah, there's a whole entire plethora

(23:26):
Shoutout technology connections come on the podcast
I wish I forgot two episodes ago
I said if shout out to freddie
Episodes ago. I said if shadow defunct land come on the podcast
Shout out i'm just gonna start if we mentioned any youtuber
I'm always gonna say shout out to that youtuber and like get come on the podcast
You don't need to be our headset. Just come on the podcast. Yeah, you don't need a vr. Here we go

(23:48):
We got we got our fucking cardboard cutout john over here
I want to point out we better never have two people on the show who don't have vr
Um or just aren't in vr at the time because we only have one cardboard cutout
Well, then at that point at that point it would just be a full-on discord thing
Yeah, yeah, I suppose so. Um, yeah, I think so but no, um

(24:10):
now the new one is uh in the new contender for data storage
is
sd cards or um types of things like that
Instead of having an option anymore. Well, it's flash memory or just if you want to get a physical disk versus do you want?
um
Do you want this because the physical disk both are kind of slow?

(24:34):
Well, no, here's the thing. Um when it comes down to the physical disks that are now out today
Like if you're to get starfield and the actual disk, it's 128 gigabyte game now technically you can store that all on a cd
you can
But what it's more doing is that it's downloading the installation software for it
So that it can stream it over to your thing so that it can download the rest of it onto your hard drive

(25:00):
And that's you know, that's annoying
That's an annoying thing about uh video game preservation is the fact that games are actually getting like it's it's it's one thing when it's like
Oh, yeah, we're going to stop making physical copies
It's another thing where it's like the games are getting too big to put on a physical copy
That's why that's why the sd card the sd card format works
So yeah, like you can have us. We just have one terabyte micro sd cards. That's just a thing

(25:24):
I think they even go higher than a terabyte like they of course those get crazy expensive and it's like
Why would you want that much data on a device?
That's so slow
But just the fact that you can put that much on a tiny on something the size of your fucking thumbnail
It's I mean, there's a whole I think I don't remember which company it was but there's a whole entire fucking
System that's right now being in place where they are 3d like they are doing a three-dimensional laser etching into glass shards

(25:50):
to preserve data for
Extensive amounts of time we're talking about almost indefinite. Yeah glass can last for like 3000 years
It's just don't know like so they're
Reaching 3d 3d information onto it and then you can read it

(26:12):
Mm-hmm, because I mean that's how records work that's yeah records work essentially and having something that doesn't
Having something that's not gonna really decay or something especially just not a hard drive because hard drives have they have bit rot
They also fail after a cut after like five years typically anyways
Yeah, but if you're to drive some it doesn't fail like then it's gonna have bit rot if you don't use it

(26:33):
And if you like don't use it for an extremely long time like over five years the bit rot starts kicking in and then you're like
oh, yeah, I'm gonna boot up the drive and like read from it once to like
Halt that bit rot process and then it's like oh, haha, and I'm gonna die
Harders are a bit weird whenever they're actually not in use they actually last way longer
Yeah, as in the bit rot is still disconnected from yeah, I think no bit rot still have yeah

(26:56):
I know I know that last longer, but they're also happens, and then you might be like okay
I want to plug it in to like reset like you know to
Respin it up again calm down the bit rot process, and then it's like oh well
I might just die cuz yeah even though it um
So my nose is cold you know actually it's a perfect example of bit rot minus computer right now

(27:17):
Whenever I was building it back in the day I put in a two three year old SSD
It was a SATA SSD basically meaning that connects specifically to say it of course on an m.2
It's basically one of them dot to my beloved
Mm-hmm and the SSDs if you didn't know are terrible for long-term storage mediums

(27:37):
They're really great for a fast quick pace going in and out in and out
But they last very short amount of short amount of times they last like three to five years specifically
It's not the um it's not the fact they're gonna last so long
It's the it's the limited amount of rights specifically yeah, but no um they'd still last that long
Really cuz my my SSDs are doing better than my hard drives

(28:02):
How old is your SSD um both my SSD and my hard drives are both? I think pushing five years right now
I'm doing just fine
That's good. My drives are pretty healthy
I am having windows issues, but I just need a clean install of windows
It might be the I need the the way that you're cleaning it is better than usual um
I've only cleaned my computer one since I built it and twice the hard drive the SSD and itself twice um

(28:29):
I've cleaned I'm gonna
Shop back to a hard drive. I'm gonna say is the cut right now
Your mouth is not moving one single bit
What oh?
Yeah, no well no I know why it's not cuz you have me muted in the game so we can do the discord
duh
Why is it why is it?

(28:50):
like
Do be a
Move whenever no time no it that had him be no I built that avatar. I built I put the brain in there
I made it tiny so I could point at you and say stupid
I want to I want to go back to the topic cuz I love talking about tech stuff
But we're already like 40 minutes in I want to go back to thousand-year door

(29:13):
And I still have to talk about our technically like 10 like 30 minutes on because we spent 10 minutes before but yeah
I wanted to mention one thing
You are just about to get to the part where you have the opportunity to smell hook tails feet
Oh, are you gonna take it you didn't have to say that yet?
Good I did not take the offer unfortunately, but free pussy world-renowned feet

(29:43):
I made I made the joke whenever I got there that uh that I'm gonna blame TTYD for
For a lot of people being in defeat
Yeah, you know I swear to God if I see high fidelity feet with like shine marks and everything
You know like the foot fetish kind of photos high fidelity cardboard

(30:04):
flat feet
Yeah
Or something like that. Oh my second favorite thing out of the entirety of fucking paper Mario when he goes flat
You know you start walking
Love it so much
It just leans backwards by a tiny bit, but has like a lip forward so stupid

(30:26):
It just waddles and I'm over here just like this is the best shit
I kind of want to just walk like this for the rest of the game. I don't care what you say
Andy Waddle the F***
That's all I do
Do an entire playthrough and enjoy your flips
That's so funny, so they call it the thousand-year door
Yeah, take more than 40 hours if you played it it might take a thousand years

(30:48):
If you played it like that maybe just maybe
Especially because you'd never be able to get a first hit ever you'd always be the one getting first hit
Yeah
Yeah, which would you know make but I always like I'm always like that as well
So just just win just use hammer
You know you can a funny thing about first the the first hit in the paper Mario games and 64 and in thousand-year door

(31:10):
Is even if it's a front flying enemy you can still hammer it for the first hit oh, I know for the first hit yeah
Just let you do that. I think that's funny. I
When it comes into the combat, I'm actually pretty well skilled in it
Oh, yeah, it's pretty fun to learn the only weird one was the funny part is is that when you use?
What's his name Cooper?

(31:30):
Mm-hmm, Coops, oops that's what it was so whenever you use Coops like
Smash-shell like the the the special ability that he has
It's easier to fucking do than his actual fucking normal move
That's so true. It's so true. It's just so it's just like as soon as I

(31:54):
But is normal of his normal abilities like this whole fucking timing shit, and I'm like I have to spend more time on this
I'm struggling with a lot of those with the timing button things because
My capture card my capture cards kind of shitty. It's $40. I'm looking at the pass-through
I'm not looking at like my OBS window
I'm looking at the pass-through so it should still be pretty immediate, but it's not so there is

(32:16):
not only an input delay between the controllers in the system, but then there's a there's a visual delay of
Like what's actually happening on the system to the monitor and on top of that?
There's a then a teeny tiny hint of audio delay between the video and the audio so I have like three different delays
I'm working on only two of them are actually visual related
The third one is just a teeny little audio one that no one will ever even notice

(32:38):
And because of all that I'm still doing great at the PvP. I can even hit super guards sometimes
I'm hitting the regular guard mechanic almost always
But the the event for the super guard and the and the more powerful attack. I'm like actually struggling with due to
literally
Getting what I paid for her which was a $40 capture card like a year ago, so I mean you know

(33:04):
Just just pointing that out there. I'm still doing pretty good though
I think the it's a lot less tight the the tolerance for
Being able to do those abilities because in paper Mario 64. There's no super guard
There's just regular guard, but the regular guard was far more difficult than it is in this game
Same with the extra damage attack and stuff, but with that I didn't have the input delay, so it's fine

(33:25):
But yeah, this game so far feels a little easier
But then again, I do have the recency bias of well the last paper Mario thing
I played was the end of paper Mario 64 and fucking obviously the end is gonna be difficult and recency bias
blah blah blah blah blah
so I
Think depending on how you play it will potentially it's it's I mean it's gonna get more difficult

(33:47):
So because that was kind of the same deal for me to it was like a lot of like early game stuff
I just flew through like crazy, but then there was a certain point or it's like then like a lot of fights and stuff
I started
Struggling a lot more and then a lot more closer calls on a certain fights and stuff so it will get more difficult
As you continue on I want to ask for one specific thing it at one spoiler once potential spoiler

(34:11):
Yes, or no does Wacka or wacko or whatever his name is does he make a return?
Yes, he does
That was a completely out of nowhere guess. I'm so happy. I want to play the game now. Oh
Don't worry about that
I'm trying to think of what chapter don't tell me what don't tell me what I actually want to know

(34:33):
I just I want him to just appear don't tell me when I'm just very happy. I know now
I'm yeah foot is not if you're if you're exploring often, then you'll find them perfect
Good because I'm I love Wacka in paper Mario 64
That's how I ended up doing really good for my second playthrough is I just took all the Wacka bumps took like three
Wacka trips to town put them all in the side and I use them

(34:55):
And then for the cloud boss is the one I struggled with when I was a lot younger I constantly struggled on that guy
Yes gears
Okay, I wanted to get over to the LARP because we're getting into the hour mark
Is there one more thing we want to talk about with with thousand a door one more more good thing?
It's more like a 38. We're like at the 37 minute mark. I'm like subtracting 10 minutes. Oh, yeah, right

(35:20):
We've talked around or right
So something about chapter 2 well, what's funny about chapter 2 well? You're gonna get your gears you're gonna
I'll gear something something relating to
Horny and must have been the wind you'll know when you get there
You'll know when you get there

(35:40):
I yeah, he's not ready for chapter 2
He's not an audio
Right there nano. I'm not gonna. I'm not gonna talk about that portion chapter 2 that one
You have to learn all on your own however chapter 2 is just there's so much funny shit, and I love it um

(36:02):
It's great. I was like with a lot of different stuff
I because you had asked a question of just like hey
what's this in the original it like a lot of like a lot of things that like was it like the majority of the
story and dialogue stuff that you are
Reading was in the original of some shape or form there might be like some tweaks and stuff here and there
But for the most part the majority of the game is literally just the original

(36:26):
There's really just like hardly yeah tweaks or anything like that
I think usually like every like it's literally like they just took the game and just
revamped the music and revamped the graphics like crazy
I think one dialogue difference I saw I think in the remake they removed the line right after where hooktail asks if you want to

(36:46):
smell their feet
I think in the Nintendo 64 one or so I heard there's a line like right after that if you say no, it's like oh
It's like it's free or something people pay good money for this
Unless that was just people posting misinformation on the web
Which I don't know I don't remember for sure I'd have to look but I think I remember that line in the remake

(37:08):
But like for the most part like it is literally just the original game
There's a few tweaks. There's a few small additions and stuff, but there really isn't that much removed
there's some dialogue changes here and there but for the most part like it's the original game and
You're running it in actual 16 by 9 HD instead of 480p 480i actually

(37:28):
but like
like
In general like the this remake is definitely like the definitive way for people to be able to play it now
It is
a physical copy on eBay

(37:49):
It is
Like how they did it with the link to the past remake how that one is honestly like now the most definitive way to play it
um, I
Don't remember. I'm not for sure excited play a link to the past. I haven't played either was it links awakening the remake?
It was like some awakening. It was a Gameboy one, right? Yeah, yeah links awakenings the Gameboy one

(38:11):
Yeah, who's that one?
But in terms of just in general like I I had a wonderful time with the remake from start to finish
I loved every moment of it and I think it was especially special for me just kind of going back and being able to
Relive a lot of that kind of stuff and be able to re-experience
my childhood

(38:32):
Such a in such a really like insane modern way. So I think in general like
For me at least like it was a phenomenal time from start to finish
There's some post game stuff that I still need to do
That I'll probably try to get to on a stream is probably gonna take about like three or four hours to do
But there's some post game stuff that I'm gonna go through on stream at some point here in the near future

(38:54):
But for the most part like just a phenomenal
Phenomenal wonderful experience from start to finish. So I'm really excited for you guys to continue it. Yeah
Oh, okay. Well to come back to this
I guess actually probably finish throughout like the next three or four episodes, maybe even next five episodes
We're probably still gonna have maybe not immediately open with the section of the thousand-year door

(39:16):
but we're probably gonna have a small thousand-year door portion and like all the foreseeable episodes cuz gears, you know
he's got he's got like irl things and stuff to do and I
Have that combined with the facts that I'm just taking my time through it
So but that's resulted in some really great streams
I'm really glad I've taken my time through it and I've like just slowed down for like bits and jokes and stuff

(39:40):
and that's like kind of just really it made me feel a lot better about streaming recently is just
Being able to do the kind of style that I want to cuz I like hyper hyper
loud streams
Fast paced stream sometimes but only sometimes this is like the style that I'm doing for Paper Mario
It's like this happens to be the perfect game perfect story perfect gameplay and like perfect people around me at the right time

(40:05):
And everything it's like just
Exactly what I want out of like doing a stream
No, it's perfect. It's just a doobie in your mouth
Okay, so how was LARPing the reason why we had to cancel fucking stream last week is because I was at LARP
I was playing explain what LARP means to those who actually have no idea because I have action role playing

(40:30):
Lies in role playing live-action role play. No, we're not I think most of our audience is going to know what LARPing is
I think that was a really dumb question. Well, actually the no no no no no no no
I don't like it who'd actually don't know what LARPing is
The the majority of people that I have talked to about this outside of the LARP community
Have not known what the fuck it means. Yeah, no a lot of people know what that means

(40:53):
Yeah, yeah like in our communities if you walk up to someone on the street and they're like what's LARP? They're like
I don't know so so LARP is a live-action role playing no
We are not in cardboard costumes like how they had to portray in the 80s and 90s
Or basically we're throwing sacks at each other going fireball fireball fireball. This is a

(41:16):
So this is a more actually on fire
This is more of a combat
orientated
RP style so specifically not much magic there is some magic systems in it, but it's not too
complex
There's not really any elven characters anything like that the only thing that's out of human range is orcs and

(41:40):
The undead and that's only be in trolls and that's it and those are played by certain people that
Volunteer to be beaten the shit out of
I'm not kidding you they volunteer to get beaten the shit out of and that's it
Because you were literally you basically have infinite armor walls an orc or troll and you it takes a lot just to take you down

(42:01):
so just people
When we when we
Inevitably get endurance when we inevitably get witchy for the first guest episode
And we put them in the cuck chair that I actually am not gonna bother placing in the world because I'm too lazy
But I'll put another bottle of orange juice on the shelf. That's for sure
Can we just have him be the the guy we can beat up like like we can just say yeah?

(42:23):
This is the LARP episode just for the purpose of just being able to beat the shit out of them, please
Yes
Yeah, and he will not watch this episode. He does not give a fuck so he's not gonna know nobody spoil it
So I'm gonna kill you
The specific LARP that I was at if you ever want to get into LARPing and you can also look into your areas

(42:44):
It's about it. This is specifically a Midwest version is in Midwest of the US and
There's people who come from all the way from Arizona to come to this thing and he's been also mentioned several times on another
youtubers
channel which his name is skill tree I
Actually got to meet him. He was pretty great guy. Just honestly really great dude to talk to I walked up to him in a

(43:09):
Pair of booty shorts and asked if he could remove my tics which he then did so
Oh
Yeah
Except for one of them Gerald over here on my on my on my right left leg my left leg
He was um he was a bitch to take out I asked him if I could
Oh he's not there anymore, okay, okay

(43:31):
I thought the tick was still on your leg
So I asked for the tweezers and I immediately got the tick out
It was a it was a dog breed. It was a dog. It was a dog tick don't worry
It wasn't so the specific area we were in this year was London, Kentucky at a specific place
Wait they have London and Kentucky fuck the British invasion. Sorry continue

(43:54):
They're back
No
We can't have those things here
I said
That the UK is probably like the most celebrated country because ever like almost every other like country
celebrates like that country
Getting away from the UK just like escaping them and for us in the US that's 4th of July

(44:20):
London London, Kentucky and
Basically the events called reckoning
This year we also called it the muckening and several other things because how muddy it was the land wasn't exactly the best
With the two tornadoes or actually one tornado in very high winds on the second one or on the first one
Yeah, or turn in a tornado touchdown like near a location and so we're all tenting in like very

(44:46):
Old
Tornadoes around me good God
No, it was it was fucking scary because it's good because they don't have any fucking infrastructure out there where they're doing the LARP
Yeah, we don't have we just had tents. That's it. That's all we had
Except for one barn that was just sitting there, and it was called the dojo or the tavern as well

(45:10):
And I had such a fun time. Oh my god, so
First night of getting there doing setup. Uh not much happened bridge building rainy as shit
we set up all the tents in the rain except for mine and then I drove off went to a hotel for the night because I
was tired as shit from
Driving all fucking night and then not being having a comfortable place to actually sleep

(45:34):
One thing pause that for a second
This is why if I go travel fucking anywhere for any reason anytime in my life from this point on I have to fly
I have to have a I have to have a good enough paying jobs like in car. I shit I can fly places
Yeah, I was fixing to say
Road trips I've done I've I've not I don't drive
But I've been driven one two three four five six

(45:58):
times
Halfway across the US and back so I've I've pretty much the width of the US I've traveled three times think about it that way yes
Not when your entire fucking backside of your vehicle this includes where the people usually in the back seat sit has been lowered and
Everything is full to the fucking brim with shit

(46:18):
I can't think of anything in my life that would do that would involve bring that much shit with me
I would I would always make sure it fits in like a luggage or two that check-in bill would be insane
Yeah, no, so we're scaling down next year so that we don't have as much shit
We didn't need to bring some of the things that we brought it was our first time going larking and actually doing this
Yeah, it was my first time larking. I had such a fun fucking experience doing it

(46:42):
I honestly loved it
I didn't know what I was gonna get into my fiance actually was the one to drag me out the reckoning has
Has their four cultural groups which are basically based off of real-life cultures?
But you take inspiration from them to make your entire kit character and everything else
There's the Suzak Mar which are the Asian inspirations and basically they are

(47:04):
They're refugees from their original homeland and on to where we are right now in the in the actual world in the reckoning lark
Then you also have the Vatican's which are the northern bitches. They're basically
Celtic Scottish and Vikings in general
They're pretty cool. Then you also have the Hadrian's which are basically Roman German

(47:25):
French and several other inspirations and then you have the Rivellans which are
European and just kind of think
kind of like a
bunch of farmers had fucking weapons or also
another good one is
Robin Hood think of Robin Hood. Oh a bunch of farmers having weapons. I that's just farmers in general

(47:50):
Yeah, that's just a stop there
That was how I was also Midwest so they have a stick of it. So um, oh, yeah
Can I clarify to the people at home who don't know what the fuck a Midwest is?
Because honestly the actual regional location of the Midwest is not really it's it's more like the dead center America

(48:10):
But yeah, it's the dead so us specifically the Midwest is like the dead center of the US and also
The the top center the top center and the middle center not the bottom center though
That's like Texas and stuff. We consider that the south above the south is the Midwest. That's what we call it
I don't know. It's it's it's honestly when you think about it

(48:32):
It's fucking stupid and the only two I know is like the south and the Midwest and then East Coast and West Coast
There's probably some like fifth
Category as well, but who the fuck cares but so then we go back over to everything else
So we have a bunch of different inspirations
We've actually almost entirely banned the use of Japanese stuff and this is only because of how much weeb shit there is and I'm

(48:54):
Not saying that weaves are bad
I'm just saying that if every single person in the Suzak Mar are fucking samurais and samurai armor
I swear to God I'm gonna blow a top because that's what happened the first year whenever it happened
I believe it's yeah, you gotta have you gotta have a little bit of like of rules
so that way it's actually like

(49:14):
Not everyone is the same fucking thing because it's the most popular thing you have that people you start using their brain and get creative
It was really stupid, but now we have a bunch of guys who are actually more Middle Eastern and Asian inspirations
Going from everywhere from the Middle East to the Philippines and everything like that. It's super great. I love it
Hadrians are so and then we go to the backstory of the land basically

(49:37):
Rivalins have owned most the land with the vaticans and then the
Hadrians are colonizing and basically taking over the land and trying to conquer it and then the Suzak Mar come in because they've ran from
Their homeland to where we are and need a place to stay and kill each other
And so basically we got a whole conglomeration of like three different cultures. So

(49:58):
This year basically a wizard summoned us and was like a hoogity boogity hoo
I called him a pumpkin. That's that's that's canonical voice line of the wizard from Stardew Valley
So I called him a pumpkin because he was because them and the Arbiters all wear orange

(50:18):
Did he have a green hat?
No, I wish
But no, I was just I was sitting there just like crossed arms and I'm like
I don't fucking trust a pumpkin Marcus pumpkin and then
There's a bunch of other arbiters there. It's always a pumpkin patch
Editor nano, please put the please put up the photo of Marcus pumpkin in the in the top left corner specifically. Thank you

(50:41):
And so pumpkin patch of wizards. It's just a pumpkin patch of their wizards
And there's a bunch of different things that are going on
Honestly my character specifically and how they kind of felt was more just like they didn't trust
Them at all honestly half the shit that they were doing sounded sketchy as fuck
Because they had a ritual that was like the first thing that happened

(51:01):
And as soon as the ritual like the ritual was like literally protecting themselves against the demonic beings that they have summoned
Mm-hmm, we need to protect ourselves with the things that we brought on. Yeah, they didn't give it to the rest of March
They're just like, yeah, let's let's let's only have it for ourselves. You rap bastards. What the hell and then there was a guy

(51:21):
Got attacked right at the edge of the forest and so he immediately went down
He was the first person to go down in the entire game, and it was only because
Something happened, and we don't know what the fuck happened
All we know is that there was no wounds on him or anything like that
And he said that there was a giant fucking orc that was three times or five times the size of a normal orc
He's never seen before so he went searching through the forest my character went searching through the forces and kind of was like

(51:48):
And I was building about backstrike as I like to I'm more of um when it comes into my LARPing or just my RP style
I like a lot more. What is it called?
Acting style where you have no script
Improv improv improv an improv I like improv and
The only way I can really do it actually I say that but at the same time

(52:10):
I'm not good at improv, but I want to be but I'm not so um
basically I was going through all the things and then I
I got to flex my brain a lot and I
I deciphered a cipher within one day nice
They didn't expect it at all they expected to be done by the third day

(52:31):
I did the entire like this cipher they're going to be confused by it for so long
I found out the entire thing because it was it was basically
Basically I had six letters that were actually given to me that were that were in the alphabet and how what they were to like
One to one to it. I wish it was a little more complex, but it wasn't so I was kind of like
Well, it is technically in the original tongue and so basically speaking. It is about the same

(52:54):
it's the way you read it that'll be different and um
So funny
So basically I got six letters and I had to plug in words
And see what the different or what the different
I had to plug in words and see what the different or see what the letter would that would make sense for it is
And then plug that in as the new letter that I have and then continuous to do that as it grows

(53:17):
I did that in one day
That's awesome. And then I was able to read it by the second day. Good job. That is incredible
it was so much fun and
And then when it came down to battles and fighting I didn't get much action when it came to the down to that
But that's also because I am squishy boy. I only had a chainmail and some uh leather armor

(53:40):
Which gave me about five eight men had no
fucking um
And um, which five ap is pretty damn good, especially since because my class is warrior and the max on a warrior is five ap
Am I allowed to put the photo that you put in the group chat here?
Um, so I'm gonna state this as a thing
Even if I were to purchase the photo and actually have it without the watermark

(54:04):
I'd still like to post it with the watermark
Yeah
Because I honestly love the photographer's job
And I think the watermark doesn't actually retract from it
I think the watermark if anything adds to the photo a little bit which is weird to say
Am I allowed to put that image up on screen though? Because I think it goes hard
I have no clue. I would say just put it up

(54:24):
This podcast is brought to you by the wonderful copyright law in the united states called fair use
Anyways, we're there we go
So we're good
Yeah, they did some wonderful photography and they took so many goddamn photos and honestly
Even with the slight little mistake they have in their editing skill and their editing and it just might be because of like some other things

(54:46):
Uh, there's some little things but again, they're also going through thousands and upon thousands of photos
Yeah, I don't really yeah, I don't care doing your book for three years. I understand that
This is the first time anyone on the podcast is now seeing gear's face
Um, even though it's like kind of shrouded a bit in like a green hood and stuff

(55:10):
But that that's him now
I'm the only one who hasn't revealed my face on the pod and I won't
For like a really long time like an extremely long time, but that's two three bloody mess
I mean you show your face has been on like my content in bits and pieces here and there over the years like the most
recent example was like in augumon jumpscare can as well as the um

(55:30):
Uh, there was like just an scpsl stream like a month or two
Like two months ago where I just like put the image of you peeking your head over the monitor
like you know your face has showed up on my content here and there so uh
People may or may not be slightly familiar if they happen to tune in at that exact moment, but boom
Um, permanent record I say as my streams are also a permanent record. There's a vod channel, but second permanent record

(55:55):
So i'm assuming like a lot of this stuff in terms of larping is like a lot of it is
Very closely related to like how dnd works a lot of times not with the rolling and stuff like that
Like it's more your physical action and how your brain actually functions
Yeah, of course not with the rolling like i'm mainly talking about like the role playing part like essentially
it's kind of like the role playing aspect of dnd, but in a real life setting and you're able to dress and all the different stuff that

(56:19):
Uh that you have and all that kind of stuff. Yeah, as long as they're none of it's modern
Can I say something offensive, but that's a joke, but I know is gonna get this um this episode more dislikes than likes
Um, oh my god, it's dnd, but good
I'm kidding
I'm joking. I'm joking
This is your location. I'm getting fucking obliterated. Bye

(56:42):
Actually, that is a spell
Actually
It's annihilate. Um, but yeah, it's kind of just like you're able to do that kind of stuff in
In real life essentially. Okay. Here's actually a really great example. Uh, so
Whenever the undead which okay, so undead how they work is basically
Um, they are almost unkillable except by certain blades and weapons

(57:04):
which I was figuring how to make those or by flames and
So they whenever they go down they'll get right back up
They'll come down again grip right back up again
And then you have to actually burn them not like with an actual fire but with the spell
and um, yeah, so
Role play fire. Yeah, you had over

(57:25):
205 people facing six guys who were undead
Six guys, yeah, we have 250 people
Six versus six zombies
How is this going to go?
Actually, I think I think I can get you guys a photo of it so we can have it in the vod or something like that

(57:45):
When you say that i'm thinking of like for some reason shawn of the dead but like instead it's it's like, you know
200 people and there's like six zombies
Yeah, I don't know why there's a watch. There's a scene but in um,
In uh, oh i'm trying to remember exactly what the movie taught us and called it to I think it's timbre I could be completely wrong

(58:06):
Uh, but I it's like norman the norm or something like that. It's it's the one towards like it's uh, the kid's name is norm
Or norman or something and he can see ghosts and stuff and there's like a witching hour or something
That's potentially gonna happen to us like the dead will rise
And so some of the dead do rise there's like and there's like a couple different zombies that come around town
they go into like a small town and then there's like a bunch of people that were in a barge like

(58:32):
Them there's some zombies and then it cuts to like
Like later on it cuts to just them beating the shit out of these zombies
Just like a bunch of like a bunch of these redneck folk just like
Beating the shit out of them with like bats and sticks and shit
Some of them are getting shot by shotguns and stuff. It's the fucking funniest thing where it's like

(58:53):
Oh, these people would be scared. No, they're rednecks. Do not underestimate the power of rednecks
And the amount of violence that they are willing to cause i'm gonna i'm gonna cut you off there
I was uh, I was guarding the forest with another guy. I had I had a bow set on me right right at that point
The entire time I was using a gerald steel
Sword from witcher

(59:14):
Oh, yeah, there was a few people who got them and uh, one of them put them in the um
Public use pile so people could use them most of my armor and garb the losses found
Yeah, most of my armor was public use armor and stuff like that. So
And one of my friends gave me it. They were pretty chill as well
But no, I was I had an archery set that was also a part of the public use pile because I didn't want to grab the sword

(59:40):
What's the gravity gun used for?
Doing in the public use pile what the hell? I don't know
But um, so I was just I just had a couple arrows on my on hand and like um
Just in case any shit happened
So we were walking through the forest and the guy notices a bag and i'm like, oh, that's a pretty bag
grabs it
Looks inside of it grabs what's inside of it

(01:00:02):
fuck
What was in there?
It was a piece of malice. Did I just eat a fuck? Oh, I ate a piece of malice. Shit my bad
So a piece of malice malice in game what it does is that whenever someone who is not an artisan which an artisan
Is anyone who is a potionsmith?
bone knitter or
Spell scribe people who make the spells make the potions

(01:00:24):
Heal your wounds if you're not one of those three as soon as you let go of this thing or in any way shape or form
This means including putting in a chest putting on the floor putting in someone else's hands
You die
You die
Oh who's holding it? Did you hold it?
I have it and if it's in a bag and you pick it up in the bag. It is immediately one of those cases

(01:00:50):
Ah, so I put it into my shirt and it's on my person
So then I walk all I noticed that all the guys are done with the fucking undead and I finally come back
And i'm like guys I have something I have no idea if it's what I think it is or if it's something entirely different
Pulls it out and I have a thing that's potentially useful to some people but I may need a necromancer

(01:01:12):
Literally, I pull it out and they go I all of a sudden here in the background. We need a bone knitter
shit
Who wears an artisan
Jesus christ
It's so all of a sudden an artisan comes up and then plucks it like actually plucks it out of my hand because I'm holding it like this
I'm holding the bag in the other and then the fucking mouse in the other hand and they pluck it out of my hands

(01:01:35):
And I just drop
I just drop onto the floor not even like a soft drop just a fucking limp
You went full committed to it. Yes
I literally just went limp noodle
Perfect

(01:01:56):
Oh, that's so funny. And so I went limp. This is the part where we kill them
Yeah, and all of a sudden a bone knitter like flops me like push like literally pushes me over
So I'm like on my back
And then just starts like pounding
Jesus christ

(01:02:17):
It revives me and that was the first time I went unconscious which is technically what a death state is
Is the unconscious state when someone has to go from unconscious state to a live state that is you know
Paralyzing fucking die that is a mortal wound and for warriors if they get five mortal wounds they go to oblivion
that's permadeath and that is a

(01:02:39):
Permadeath it is oblivion for about like thirds gone about five minutes and then you come back
You still come back. There's still no kind of permadeath. So that it's so that you don't like
Yeah, I have to leave early and we'll leave early and then have character deaths and yeah
If you're not like you didn't like travel out there and then you die like instantly I expected longer than five minutes though

(01:03:01):
Well, it's five minutes because that's actually that's actually a pretty reasonable time because an unconscious to bone knitter state is six seconds
Yeah, okay. That makes sense a day is 24 hours
Yeah, I get it
It's a reasonable amount of time for people who don't want to like actually rp their character's death and then have to start up a new
Character. Yeah, of course. Here's the difference between starting a new character and this soon as you start up a new character

(01:03:25):
You have to change up how your garb looks
Yeah, so bring seven wardrobes like you
That is expensive as fuck because already my garb even though being the most basic bitch was over like
$200 just to make
Sounds very wow. Yeah
The cow I have is like a $70 cow and uh some other things

(01:03:48):
It's easy to make it's just do you say cow cowl?
Cowl, okay. I thought you said cow and I was like cows are not $70 my friend here
No, the cows are is a $70 couch cows are a little more expensive than a 70 bucks
But I mean, I don't know where you're getting your cows from. Are you sure that's not a bull?
Are you sure you've not been drinking cum?

(01:04:09):
No, I I just know a little bit about the cow industry and you could definitely
You can definitely sell any form of cowl more than I live in Oklahoma. Shit. That's true
I'm surrounded by a lot of cow farmers. I forgot everyone in Oklahoma is just part of their like um
Elementary school education that they have to know how much a cow costs

(01:04:30):
It's called ag
Whenever it comes under it. Yeah, that's how the death works. That was my first time getting a mortal wound
I got five silver for it and it was so much fun
Uh, there's an actual economy in this fucking thing. They actually mint coins for it and hand it out to people
You get five. Oh, that is awesome person

(01:04:50):
You get five silver that you have to grow or spend either how you want and items in the game
I got I got several things. I got a I got a I got a book and a mug
Some people bring just random ass items that they're willing just to get rid of because they're like trinkets and shit like that
Yeah, yeah for silver so money silver that is so cool

(01:05:11):
So that reminds me very specifically of a video that people make games
Uh made somewhat recently. I believe this was let me check about half a year ago and god half a year ago now
Um, we roleplayed the end of the world with 4 000 other people. It's this big roleplay event called the wasteland
um, but it's both like there's a lot of casual in it there's a lot of like

(01:05:32):
Um die hard in it like super into the rp. It's like a great mix
Uh, they just go do it out in the fucking desert for uh for like I think a week or something
Yeah, and um, it's and they do like item bartering and stuff like that as well
They also have like all these different jobs and some people just like don't do a lot of all that stuff
And they'll just you know hang out
It's I like that a lot because it's like all of all the options available do whatever the fuck you want

(01:05:57):
That's kind of that's kind of how it is here as well
Shout out people make games is after this episode if this is still the most recent episode of the podcast or you're out of episodes
To watch go watch that uh, go watch that people make games video because it's actually like really really interesting
Um, I I thought like oh, yeah, this isn't gonna be that cool
And then I came out of it being like that's the sickest fucking experience i've seen in my life

(01:06:18):
It's kind of a lark is that's kind of how reckoning is as well. Wait john
What were you gonna say? Nana watched the uh hitler hentai and uh found a new kink anyway go on gears
So I wish I didn't let him have a moment to talk continue
So
Okay, I got a I got a because I didn't go in with a tankard or anything for drinking by the way
I drank a lot. Um, it was water mostly

(01:06:42):
And um, I didn't have a tankard. I got a wit. I got a water skin. That was really shitty
I really don't like my water skin, but I have it and um, I got a tankard for
For silver which doesn't equate to actually any currency in in in real life because there is no equation for it
Because they don't have where you can like barter back your coins in that you all have at the very end

(01:07:04):
So basically all the items that you bring in for trading and bartering in game
stays in game
Yeah, so it is it is and you get the five silver automatically. So
Um, basically you're bringing a bunch of items that you don't want anymore and basically want to get rid of or bring it
Specifically because you want to be the richest fucking man in the goddamn rp

(01:07:26):
I wonder exactly like that other video I was talking about same thing
I wonder as if like you could like barter a uh a video game console
Just bring like a dreamcast and just like I shall barter this it's like what the fuck
Uh, I got actually quite a bit of coin
And because of how the currency was going because it has some little kerfuffles in the actual like between staff and people

(01:07:48):
People brought coin from their old game from the old game like the game before it was 800 silver that they had
And um, they brought it back into the game and then brought it into the mix now gladly
They were throwing it at people but this is also because they were the rich asshole that was like here you go peasants

(01:08:09):
My peasants have some kind from my wonderful pockets
No, they're literal silver like they're metal coins. They're probably aluminum, but they're like metal coins
They're fucking awesome
And the dude like this before we even got our coin like everyone got their coin
Coins at people it's just so funny

(01:08:29):
Just looking that throws coin at people and it's fucking hilarious
This is the entire personality
So before the game before the during the game after it started and everyone got into character
Because they have a whole getting character session of like helping you get into that kind of mood and mindset
um, they then
Just push you off over to your camps and then you guys have uh trade

(01:08:51):
You have to guys you get your weapon inspected to make sure it's all okay for larp
So you don't you know stab someone with a fucking fiberglass putt?
Yeah, and uh some other things and they also give you the coin as well and stuff like that
and
I got coin because during the midpoint of me
Figuring out the cipher with the priest or actually he was a librarian

(01:09:13):
And he was also being priestly at the moment because the priest who was actually there was like
Hey, do you want to join the uh clergy?
And so he joined up with the clergy as well as we were deciphering the ciphers one guy came up to him and was like
Hey, I just I just got downed by a suzac. I just got downed by a suzac. Can you help me? Because um
I lost the key

(01:09:34):
And they went oh shit
We had to go grab it back
So I I got all my armor back on and I got all my shit
So I look like i'm fucking menace like that photo
Except you know, you have a fucking sword that is it's a hand and a half and it's over 36 inches long
Jesus christ

(01:09:54):
It is a long sword
It is literally a long sword and I have like it goes if I were to wear it on my hip
It touches the ground so I have to have it up. And he said his dick was this big and I said that's disgusting
So i'm making a collab post to my ex dot com twitter dot com
That's pretty much the gag of like claw and mockery has a like an enormous penis from whose line. Yeah

(01:10:20):
so
um whenever I was
Whenever we're doing the bartering we barter with the suzac
Well, we found out who the suzac was I was just kind of like
Standing there silent kind of looking around to see who it was and I saw that there was a dude with a mace
We finally went over to him called him out and then we got the guy who actually got killed by him
Confronted him and then went we need that key back and he's like we'll have it for about 140 silver

(01:10:45):
If you have that and then we went we barely have 20
Me
Can you take an into the wee by chance maybe a game cue
I'd like to imagine that in that situation. It allowed for the 20 silver because neither one of us had coin
and um
I'm sitting there. It's getting pretty heated because it's actually getting tense

(01:11:10):
there's two suzac who are coming up right behind me and i'm holding my sword down like
Just like kind of holding in case I need to like unsheathe it as fast as I fucking can yeah
And then there was a point where I actually had to unsheathe it
But I put it down like across like i'm holding it
And so the tip is in the ground and i'm holding it by the hand. Yeah, I think happens
I can imagine in it. I can imagine in my mind

(01:11:32):
You because that photo like you would pull out the sword and doing that
So i'm just sitting there right behind the dude who we're doing the bartering with and the two suzac come up to my side
And i'm just like they're still staying like two three feet away from me just coming up to my side, and i'm just like
sitting there silent
menacingly and then um

(01:11:54):
They finally traded the coin. We got the key
Good job. That was it was a really tense situation. I I sheathed my weapon no one died
And uh they walked away and then the dude went I actually had like 40 silver
Nuggets

(01:12:15):
And a few gold nuggets and so he handed me two of the gold nuggets and so I got paid in gold nuggets
Which each nugget is five silver
Don't tell the rat bastards. I had more money than what I said
And he was immediately we both went you fucking bastard
We love you

(01:12:35):
Perfect that shit's so much perfect. That is so funny speed through your favorite parts
The rest is gonna have to wait till next week
No, we'll just make next week the larping episode fuck it
You're getting one one more thing you get to say not even like speeding through the rest
But just one more thing because we gotta we we gotta wrap if I might suggest the hiding in the in the in the building
Due to a tornado though. That's gonna be next time. Well now i've said it or no are we gonna you know

(01:13:00):
You know, let's let's keep it as a teaser. Let's keep it as a teaser next week. Let's go ahead with that and let's also
I'll show you why my vomit was purple
I was kind of wanting to mention one last thing and this is because of the tornado if it's like really short
Go ahead the lat the the tornado that actually hit us and this was the one that actually touched down basically

(01:13:24):
uh happened around 2 a.m. In the morning and uh
We got a media call from someone who not call someone actually came over to the out of game camping and actually started screaming
Get to the fucking dojo now a tornado touched down
So I started screaming my lungs off
I didn't even know if my voice is gonna be healed for this episode at all
You've heard how my voice sounded like during the first part of this week. It sounded like shit. It sounded like shit

(01:13:47):
I don't know how the fuck I sound like this right now
so
um
while walking while running over because I was screaming my head off and then I finally stopped screaming and I finally was getting into like
We need to run now kind of mode and as soon as I did someone left their fucking um
What is it called? What is it called? What is it called? What is it called? Someone said it someone said the actual name
I call I keep calling it like a pavilion, but it is a

(01:14:09):
something basically the
Basically a pile of metal. I the mud was fucking slippery shrek decided to take my knees and
And slipped me into a pile of metal which I my ass decided to go nah fam. We're gonna take the full front of this blow
and um
I hit it and I have a giant bruise on my ass and it is a fucking

(01:14:33):
Huge let's talk about that tornado next week because that because there's a tornado story that I have
That we can cover next week
Yeah
You can there's still a little bit more for you to elaborate with with the tornado thing just in general next week as well as all
The other things that's only half of it the year next week for more of that shit
Whatever the fuck else also happens next week and the two things I mentioned um this was great

(01:14:56):
I think this is um this episode this episode you know there's not as many jokes
But I think we talked about a bunch of really cool things. I enjoyed that as well
I like back bouncing back and forth between a joke heavy episode and then like
Talking about a bunch of cool shit where all three of us are like super super into it
I'm really enjoying this we got a couple more of these episodes here where it's just the three of us sitting on the couch together

(01:15:18):
And then we're gonna start going into probably every other episode will be a guest episode
So be ready for that as well the guest episodes are gonna be a blast
But we got enough bullshit to talk about for another couple episodes before we go ahead and do that
Probably around episode 10 you'll start seeing guest episodes somewhere around there
I'm super excited though for just the the future of this podcast, and I'm really enjoying it

(01:15:42):
We're all enjoying it right right say yes
Please say yes, or I wish I would tone down to most of the Hitler jokes. They keep making and some of the extremely
Crash shit, I've said it's fine
I feel embarrassed to sometimes mention this to some of the guys
Anywhere else look the episode 6 kind of just had a little bit of camel

(01:16:04):
Related 9-eleven jokes because the camel hit the Pentagon or something. I don't know like the animal
I only remember editing episode 6 last night. I'm like why the fuck were we talking about camels?
Oh, yeah, camel cuz mark Hamill because
We're Joe Biden's like may the fourth be with you and then mark Hamill shows up
He's like always and then John's like mark camel camels with the Pentagon again mar camel

(01:16:30):
Did the camel the the the first camel is at the May 4th, sir?
Um that's just fresh on my mind cuz it's funny. I've been NanoBunTV. This has been a cardboard cutout
Okay, I guess I just don't get to say who I am
I guess I just won't now - the cardboard cutout of...
Mmm, I know I know

(01:16:52):

(01:17:33):
And then John, all of his things with Mythos Makers, and then all of my stream and video projects and all that cool stuff
What?
I hear in the background spubsy say
You're not allowed to
Right you're taking you're not allowed to - not without me

(01:17:54):
