SPEAKER_00 (00:02):
So, welcome back to this podcast, which is currently
being renamed and rebranded.
So, this is our first episode ofthe Regulate Your Nervous System
podcast.
So, I'm very excited tointroduce uh Brittany Wagner,
who is a dear, dear friend ofmine.
And Brittany and I are launchinga mentoring program teaching

(00:25):
individuals how to regulatetheir nervous system.
And Brittany has been absolutelyinstrumental in helping me to
organize and put together someof these tools.
She's an incredibly talentedcoach herself.
She is so well versed in hearthealing, in soul stewardship,
and just walking alongsidepeople with all the inner

(00:46):
healing tools.
And then together, the Lord hasjust brought us together to just
create this whole new mentorshipprogram that we are just super
excited about.
And so, Brittany, I just want tosay thank you and welcome to the
podcast and welcome to thebusiness, essentially.

SPEAKER_01 (01:01):
Yeah, yeah, and what an honor it is.
And to be the first guest on thethe newly revamped or um
podcast.
It's such a blessing and aprivilege.
So thank you.

SPEAKER_00 (01:11):
You're welcome.
So previously, the ExaltedPodcast, which its mission was
really just to spread the hopeof Jesus.
And we are not straying fromthat, but we're expanding and
niching down a little bit more.
Um, what Exalted Health's goalhas been from the beginning is
to bring people closer to Jesus, but heal the wounds that they've

(01:33):
been carrying, whether it's intheir body, whether it's in
their soul, whether it's intheir spirit, that have
separated them from Jesus, youknow, what lies they're
believing, et cetera.
And as I've been on this journeythe last handful of years, the
Lord has really taught me somuch more about the nervous
system.
Like I have, you know, anundergrad degree where I studied
this in a lot of contexts, buthe really just taught me how to

(01:55):
steward the nervous system tobring peace, right?
Because if we are out ofalignment in spirit solar body,
we know that then we're notwalking in peace, right?
Um, so I'm super excited.
So, Brittany, I am so excitedthat you're joining me.
And I just want you to sharewith anybody that's listening,
like how applying some of thesetools to your life has changed

(02:15):
your life.
Because I know that you'veapplied a lot of them.

SPEAKER_01 (02:19):
Yes, yes.
And you know what I what I loveabout both of our stories is
that we got into this workbecause it was what we needed
from what we've gone through inour lives and what actually has
has helped us.
And so now we sort of feel ledto to help others.
But um, you know, by coming toyou and actually experiencing
some of the healing um that youhelped me add a lot of body

(02:39):
trauma as a part of my journeyand my story.
And it's um being able to havethese tools has really helped me
navigate when things come up,especially triggers.
I was in a class and learning, learning something new, and they
were talking about a lot ofthings that were trauma-based,
and they didn't sort of preparethis the students well enough at
the beginning.

(02:59):
And when that class ended, Ireally I could still feel it.
Like my body was still reactingfrom the traumatic stories that
were being shared as a part ofthe class.
Yeah.
And your tools has have helpedme.
I was able to then work throughthat of how my body was actually
triggered in the in the momentsof the stories that were shared.
Um, and the flashcards that youcreated, I was able to go

(03:20):
through those flashcards andactually look through and pull
out a couple of exercises thathelped me work through the
response that my body was havingfrom these two stories.

SPEAKER_00 (03:29):
So that's amazing because yeah, I mean, you nailed
it.
Like I created all these toolsbecause I've applied them to my
life and I needed a way to teachother people how to use them,
right?
So that's so good.
So we're gonna go over those ina couple of those in a second.
But what I love the most aboutwhat you said is like, so when I
started my business, for thoseof you who have never come to
see me or maybe don't know a lotabout exalted health, I was

(03:51):
seeing people like one-on-one.
That was that was the goal.
And so a lot of people wouldcome to me, they'd come to me
with their wounds and thingslike that, and I'd get them for
60 minutes.
And then the Lord works in thattime.
Don't get me wrong, he works, right?
However, uh, the session wouldend and they'd go back out the
door and they'd come back a lotof times the next month, and

(04:15):
they would just kind of have anew pile of triggers of things
that they were carrying thatthey didn't totally understand
how to apply the tools to.
And although I was trying toeducate in that 60 minutes, it's
really hard to like go deep withthe Lord and heal some stuff and
educate in 60 minutes, right?
And so what I was finding was alot of people were coming back

(04:39):
every month and just kind of ofsetting their stuff on the table
and being like, okay, here, Jen,I need you to fix it this time
again.
And so I realized there was adisconnect in what in the work
that I was doing, and that Ineeded to help really educate
people on how to apply a lot ofthese tools to their lives so
they could walk out the freedom, right?

(05:00):
Like it's not like we gethealed, we go for a handful of
healing sessions.
At least this hasn't worked inmy life, maybe it's in yours,
Brittany.
I go for a handful of healingsessions, and then everything's
just good for the rest of mylife, right?
They're real tools that you haveto continue to apply and work
through.
So yeah, that's such a fantasticpoint.

(05:21):
So thank you for bringing thatup.
So, what is what were some ofthe tools that you applied in
that moment that just reallyhelped you?

SPEAKER_01 (05:27):
Um, there was an exercise like this where you
look left and the butterfly.
Yeah, that I practiced that one.
Yeah.
Um, that one really helped me.
And then also just moving mybody to get the trauma out.
Like just, you know, kicking mylegs and just sort of releasing
that energy that was in my bodybecause I could feel it.
And I think that's a big part oflike, I know you talked about

(05:49):
some of the things I like to dowith like soul stewardship and
coming to be connected with yourbody is recognizing when your
body is triggered.
Because so often we shut thosefeelings down, we shut that
voice down that's telling us,wait, I don't something feels
off, right?
It's labeled as anxiety, andthen we just categorize it as,
oh, it's just that, and then wemove on.
But our body's speaking to us,our body is telling us something

(06:12):
is up, something's here.
Like, like come pay attention tome, help me work through this.
Because our body doesn't knowhow to work through it
oftentimes and needs that helpfrom us.
And it's better to have a planbefore you need it versus trying
to figure it out in the midst ofbeing triggered because we're
not, you know, we're not alwaysable to think logically and go
through, oh, this is what I do.

(06:32):
So it's really good to planbefore you need it so that when
you do, you have access to it.

SPEAKER_00 (06:38):
Such a great point.
We forget everything we knowwhen we're triggered.
Yes, myself included.
And that is why it's soincredibly important to do this
in community, right?
Because we have people aroundus.
And I know I've relied on youeven just a number of times
being like, hey, I'm reallystruggling with this.
I'm triggered by this.
Will you just pray for me?

(06:58):
Um, and it's amazing what justhaving even a little bit of
coverage um does to startletting you think clearly and
working through something whenyou have tools.
Um, when you don't have tools, that's when we start to go into
what I would call like crisismode, right?
Yes.
And where we just kind of startto spiral, and all of a sudden
our body's totally out of whack, our thinking or emotions are out

(07:22):
of whack, and we feel like whatin the world just happened?
I just went back to step one.

SPEAKER_01 (07:27):
And we often go to those other coping mechanisms
that may not be the best thingfor us either, right?
Those other things that sort ofnumb us out from the reality of
what's transpiring.

SPEAKER_00 (07:37):
Yeah.
Disassociating, yeah, turning tosubstances.
Like those are all things I'veseen several of my clients do,
right?
Until they start actually facingwhat's going on.
And you made such a great uhpoint, too, is like the body's
trying to tell us, but we almostgo through a process in our
lives where we unlearn how tolisten to our bodies, right?

(08:00):
I think of really little kids umthrowing temper tantrums when
they're, you know, throwingtheir arms and their legs.
And although society has taughtus like that's not acceptable
behavior, and in some ways, Iunderstand that because we don't
want to give in to you know thattype of manipulative behavior.
However, what their bodies arenaturally doing is they're

(08:22):
regulating themselves, right?
Yes, and then as kids get olderand we're expecting them to
maybe uh sit still in church orsit still in school, and that
they don't have autonomy overwhen they're allowed to move in
a lot of those cases, right?
They're just expected to sitstill and when they don't
comply, we want to medicate theminstead of understanding that

(08:45):
their body's telling themsomething along the way.
And then we become older, youknow, kids and teenagers and
young adults, and all of asudden we start to see anxiety
and depression and all of thesethings popping up because
they've been taught to ignoreall of the signs and symptoms
and warning signs that theirbodies are giving them.

SPEAKER_01 (09:06):
Yes, 100%.
I mean, I think of even my ownstory of when I was young, when
I was having those moments, Iwould be put to my room by
myself.
Yep.
So it taught me like, nope, youneed to resolve this, like fix
it.
And then when you're okay, youcome out of your room and you be
a normal human being.

unknown (09:23):
Right.

SPEAKER_00 (09:23):
Yeah.
And we're not taught how to workthrough those emotions.
We're taught, we're taught thatcrying is bad.
We're taught that, you know, uhemotional outbursts are bad.
And and I'm not saying that it'sokay to like be manipulative and
be angry and yelling andmistreating people.
That's not what I'm saying.
I'm saying that when we areyounger and those natural things

(09:44):
are coming out, it's the bodytelling us that something needs
to be processed and workedthrough.
But I mean, how often do we hearadults telling kids, don't cry,
stop being a baby?
All of those things when cryingis one of the most natural
releases that there is.
Think about how good and lightyou feel after a good cry.

(10:04):
I mean, maybe not like rightafter, but maybe like 30 minutes
later, right?

SPEAKER_01 (10:09):
Yes, yes.

SPEAKER_00 (10:10):
All of a sudden you're like, wow, all of a
sudden something lifted becauseall of that was sitting right
there on top of your nervoussystem and and had nowhere to
go, right?

SPEAKER_01 (10:19):
Yeah.
And what a beautiful opportunityto teach kids how to work
through that.
You know, being sent to my room,I never knew.
I never knew this wasacceptable.
It felt like unacceptablebehavior, and you're not allowed
to feel these things.
Right.
And then when you go to school, the focus is on the mind.
So then it's like, no, yourlogic, your mind is important.
That's the important thing.
You ignore the body.

(10:40):
So you're continuing to learnhow to shut down your emotions,
shut down what your body'strying to say to you, shut down
the movement that it needs to beable to release what it's
holding on to.
And it it wreaks havoc on ourbodies.

SPEAKER_00 (10:53):
It really does.
And when we have wounds andchronic stress, on top of not
knowing how to process things, just shoving them down over
years and years, what we startto see is chronic illness.
What we start to see is chronicanxiety, chronic stress, where
people have been hardwired tonot know how to deal with their

(11:14):
stuff.
And then it starts to come outin some other direction.
And I know in my own story, Ispent years and years going to
different doctors and things.
And then I did have some prettyserious stuff that popped up,
but most of my symptoms, I spentyears being prayed for for this
autoimmune disease.
I spent years going to doctors.

(11:35):
And what I found is thatactually I had worked through
some of the deep stuff uh on thephysical side.
But when I got my nervous systemregulated, when I learned, when
I really started applying allthis stuff to my life, almost
all of those lagging symptomsthat I was attributing to

(11:55):
chronic illness or autoimmunedisease, almost all of them
disappeared.
And which just will never ceaseto blow my mind.
I mean, we're talking like 40plus years of random symptoms
that no doctor could pinpoint ina lot of the cases.

(12:17):
Now I did have some seriousstuff that you've probably if
you've listened to any of myother podcasts, you know about.
But most of those symptoms andmy anxiety have disappeared when
I learned how to regulate mynervous system, when I learned
how to process and handle myemotions in a healthy way.
And I'm not perfect, do not getme wrong.
There's still times I have toapply these tools, man.

(12:38):
But that's real life.
Like, real life is never, evergonna stop happening to us,
right?
Exactly.

SPEAKER_01 (12:45):
We're never gonna reach perfection either.
Like that's not gonna happen.

SPEAKER_00 (12:47):
So no, no, it's I mean, until we get to heaven,
it's not gonna happen.
So okay, so why don't you tellme like what you're most excited
about of like what this groupcould do for individuals that
are just learning brand new howto apply a lot of these tools.

SPEAKER_01 (13:04):
Gosh, I what I love about this group is it's very
holistic.
It's looking at the nervoussystem, yes, but it's also what
you talked about at thebeginning, saying like we are
interconnected.
You can't have one area have aproblem and not have it impact
another area of your life.
Like it's we're interconnected,it's just it's just gonna
happen.
And so what I love about thisgroup is it's focused on

(13:25):
regulating the nervous system, but it also looks at other areas
too.
Like, is there's other thingsgoing on in your soul that's
gonna help that as well?
It's it's it's kind of like Italked about at the beginning,
it's giving you tools before youneed it so that when you need
it, you've got access to thosethings to be able to deal with
it instead of the stuffingmethod, which I've done majority
of my life up until my innerhealing journey.

(13:48):
Um, because that doesn't work, like Jen mentioned, right?
It's it's gonna come out at somepoint, it's gonna come out in
some way, and unfortunately, usually it's unexpected.
Right.
And in unhealthy ways, too, thatthat create more of a mess that
you end up going back to.
And a lot of times, too, a biglayer that ends up being shame.
Because then we shame ourselvesfor that behavior, and then we

(14:09):
shame ourselves for ourresponse.
And all we're doing is applyingmore and more pain on top of our
pain.
And it's just it helps usactually get to the root and be
equipped to be able to gothrough life with tools to be
able to manage these things thatare gonna inevitably happen.
We're gonna get triggered.

SPEAKER_00 (14:26):
Yeah, it's so good.
It's so good because life isjust it's not gonna stop
happening.
And if you've had 40 plus yearslike I did, of handling things
the wrong way, in our in our youknow, highest self-brain, we're
like, oh, I should just be ableto learn these tools and apply
them, and then everything shouldbe great.

(14:46):
But in reality, there's amassive learning curve.
Uh, there's a real enemy thatdoesn't want us free from this
stuff and doesn't walking out, want us walking out the peace
and the call that God has forus.
And so there's gonna be someinterference, right?
Yeah, and it's so incrediblyimportant to do this um
alongside a community.

(15:08):
Really, when we do things incommunity in any capacity,
people are so much moresuccessful.
We feel so much more loved andseen and supported.
And so I'm just ecstatic aboutum getting this program up and
rolling.
We did a soft launch here inAugust.
Um, but when by the time thispodcast airs uh in September, we

(15:30):
will be in full force.
So, what is like what is onething you're just really excited
about that you've alreadynoticed um in your own life or
any of your clients' life byapplying some of these tools,
Brittany?

SPEAKER_01 (15:40):
I I mean, I love what you touched on with
community because the otherthing is sometimes we're going
through something and we feellike we're alone.
And that's the enemy's point,right?
He wants us to be isolated, likeit's just us.
We're the only ones that thishappens to, so there must be
something wrong with us.
A classic lie of the enemy, there's something wrong with
you, right?
Right.
Hear that in your voice in yourhead, there's something wrong
with me.

(16:01):
Um, but through this group,we're able to actually share, be
real, be raw with our stories,be real with where we're at or
what we're triggered by, and andand bring that to the forefront.
And through that, too, I thinkthere's there's opportunities
for each person to be seen in aunique way because you get out
of that.
It's just me, I'm alone, there'ssomething wrong with me

(16:23):
mentality.
And that that I'm really excitedabout to bring people in and
just be able to be raw and realwith one another and share the
journey and the story becausethis life is a journey, and how
great that we get to do it withother people.
That's what we're created to dois be in community.
So I'm really looking forward tothat and excited for for the
community aspect.

(16:44):
I love that you brought that upbecause to me that's a great
that's the yeah get to knowother people and be real and raw
with them as well.

SPEAKER_00 (16:53):
Yeah, so good, so good.
And I just um so for those ofyou who are listening, so
Brittany will be coming on as anindividual coach as well,
because what we know is gonnahappen um is as people start to
work through things in a group, there's some things that they're
just not gonna be comfortablewith to bring to the full group,
which is absolutelyunderstandable.
We all have our stuff that wejust need to work through um

(17:16):
one-on-one.
And so Britney will be comingon, and she to begin with,
she'll be starting to see peopleonline.
And this provides such anincredible asset because I am
located in Cottage Grove.
I see people in person andhands-on.
So I'm really more focused on alot of the body stuff, and then
Brittany will be seeing peopleonline, people that maybe aren't

(17:39):
in proximity to Cottage Grove,Minnesota, right?
And just don't have the time intheir schedule to be driving
that far to be seen, but theystill want the support and the
help.
And Brittany is, although she'strained in all the body stuff,
she's gone through my class, she's trained up in all that,
she's also trained in severalother things that she's gonna

(17:59):
help apply.
And those tools, a lot of thosecan be done online and still
have the massive benefit.
Now, a lot of the body tools canalso be taught via online.
It's just a little bit differentbecause you're not having
someone laying hands on you atthe same time.
But you know what?
The Lord works, man.
He works, and we've both seenit.
We've seen people get healed inall types of ways.

(18:22):
We've seen people just takeleaps of bounds in their healing
journey by coming alongside acommunity and doing it, um, and
just being able to apply theindividual tools.
So we are really excited aboutthis because my schedule has
been full for a while, butthere's still so many people out
there that need help, andthere's still so many people
that needed to be trained in howto use and apply these tools.

(18:42):
So, not only do we get that, weget the additional option of
being able to see Britneyone-on-one and work through
things, and you can, you know, switch off who you're going to
if you want some of the bodystuff.
If you want to just do online,we're gonna be really flexible
with that, at least when we'regetting started, if we have to
just shore up some things as wego down the road.
But I'm excited, Brittany.

SPEAKER_01 (19:04):
Yeah, I'm so excited.
It's gonna be such an amazinggroup, it's gonna be such an
amazing time.
And the the tools, like I said,I can't say that enough.
It's just great to have in yourtoolbook, tool belt before you
need it.
And that's really one thing thatI can't stress enough because
inevitably, when you start to dosomething new, no matter like
you said, the enemy is gonna beagainst us and he's not gonna

(19:25):
want us to move forward.
So oftentimes we'll hit a wall,right?
We're gonna hit a wall and we'regonna be like, I'm stuck.
This is tough.
And we're gonna be there.
We're gonna be there to supportyou and and support along the
way and in the journey, in theprocess of coming more healed
and more connected with ourbodies.

SPEAKER_00 (19:41):
Yeah, so good.
And the Lord, I mean, as soon ashe dropped this in my heart, I
knew it was time to hit the gason it.
So I'm just really grateful tohave you alongside.
Uh, for those of you that arelistening.
Like, I didn't just be like, oh,hey, Brittany will do.
It was like, I want Britney onthis team.
The Lord has trained her up,He's equipped her, He's prepared
her, and she is the perfect fit.

(20:03):
So I'm really, just reallythankful to have you.
Just people are just gonna be soblessed by the gifts that you
carry.
Like, the world needs the giftsthat you carry.
So thank you for saying yes.

SPEAKER_01 (20:13):
Thank you.
Of course, of course.
And the world needs the giftsyou carry.
And like Jen mentioned, I didtake her somatic body work
certification training course, and that's also available as
well, if that's something thatyou want to learn on how to um
help others administer thesetools, also.

SPEAKER_00 (20:29):
Yes, yeah, the Lord's just options.
He's he's on the move, man.

SPEAKER_01 (20:34):
Amen.
Amen.

SPEAKER_00 (20:35):
