Last year this episode aired in September, but as August is the true pedal to the metal moment for fresh-start Fall, a.k.a. back-to-school fall, this is the time to hear it. Ah … those feelings: your dominant, real, authentic feelings … They are the clues to what’s going on with you, from elation to depression to confusion. And I can’t think of a better example or time of year to talk about this, using what most of us have heard of as “the empty nest” syndrome. Your children may be flying the coop out of high school, to college or a place of their own and a new job of their own, or even moving cross country for heaven’s sake. Did this situation creep up on you, take you by surprise or gobsmack you when, maybe, you just didn’t think about the reality beyond all the prep you helped with to launch them? Were you ready, are you ready? Are you a bit fearful, or flapping your wings to meet the moment, or truly flying, thrilled to start a new chapter for yourself with less day-to-day responsibilities for others? Or even sad and confused? Maybe you're stalled and just stuck. Today we’ll review how naming your feelings will clarify this new phase of your life so you can act upon a new, happy second act at midlife and beyond.

Stop waiting and reach now for whatever midlife-plus fulfillment means to you, without distractions, come work with me one-on-one! Just send an email to hello@laurieadamscoaching.com to schedule a no-pressure conversation/Q & A about individual coaching. We’ll explore the goal that has eluded you most, including weight loss if that’s the important one for you. Together, let’s edit the story of you so you’ll never want to put your own book down.
