In this episode, I sat down with Janelle Hunt, author of 'Made on What I Know, Find Your Serenity, Reclaim Your Life, and Pursue Your Goals After Domestic Violence,' who shares her journey of overcoming the lingering effects of domestic violence. She discusses the strategies outlined in her book that help women reclaim their lives and voices after leaving abusive relationships. Janelle and I discuss the importance of speaking out about domestic violence and other traumatic experiences. We also explore the journey of forgiveness and the freedom of reclaiming one's voice.

Janelle is a proud daughter, sister, aunt to a nephew and two nieces, and godmother to two. Ms. Hunt is passionate about encouraging women of all ethnicities, and this passion was ignited when she obtained her undergraduate degree in women’s studies from the University of Delaware. Ms. Hunt feels that in our daily lives, there are always opportunities to encourage women – at the office, while shopping, at lunch, at church, and the list goes on. From giving a simple, uplifting word to providing a listening ear, Janelle knows that just showing you care can make all the difference.
