S06E04: Detriment of Ingratitude Pt 2
Series: Gratitude
Host: Rev. Dr. Charles Zuta
Ingratitude can be very costly. It not only deprives us of positive experiences but also fuels negativity in our lives. When we are not actively grateful, we create space for discontent to flourish, which can detract from our mental well-being. Persistent ingratitude can lead to a negative outlook, causing us to push away friends, family, and colleagues. Additionally, ingratitude makes us miss out on the beauty of life. The negativity bias, which is the tendency to give more weight to negative events than to positive ones, can dominate our attention. Gratitude can help balance this bias, ensuring that negativity does not take hold of our focus. I discuss what ingratitude really takes away from our lives in this episode.
