My biggest manifestation yet: partying with Taylor Swift!

This solo episode recounts a memorable evening in New York City where I crashed the SNL 40th anniversary party with my bff & co-founder, earning us an evening with A-list celebrities like Ariana Grande, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Miley Cyrus, Leonardo Dicaprio, Jay-Z AND MORE.

This episode isn't just about meeting Taylor Swift; it's about the pursuit of passion, the unscripted moments that take your breath away and the giddy realization that sometimes, the universe listens and winks back.

For the Swifty's: what is Taylor Swift REALLY like when the cameras aren’t on her?

Speaker 1 (00:03):
Hello freedom seekers and hello to, hopefully, some
Swifties that are tuning intothis episode.
Today I'm going to changethings up from the regular
programming and share with youmy literal favorite story in the
entire world that I get to tellmy favorite experience that has
ever happened to me, you know, other than maybe my wedding
night, of course, and my best, most epic manifestation that has

(00:25):
ever come true.
Today I'm going to share withyou the time that not only did I
meet Taylor Swift, but Iactually got to party with
Taylor Swift and even have thepictures to prove it.
So many people are draggingTay-Tay's name into their
headlines, into their contentlately, and I guess I'm guilty
of it too, but I'm going toshare the positive about her.

(00:46):
She was exactly how I hoped shewould be, in real life, in the
wild, not with all the camerason her.
She was everything I wanted herto be, and more so.
Today I'm going to tell youabout this epic story from one
of my favorite nights of my life, when I was in New York City.
Now, why do I connect thisexperience with manifesting?

(01:08):
Well, as a child, I was oftenreferred to as a witch by my
mother, in the very best ways.
Back then we didn't really havelanguage around manifesting
like we do today, but when Ithink about it, that's what I
was doing.
I have so many core memoriesfrom my childhood where I had a
dream or some idea and somethingI wanted and seemed impossible

(01:28):
or unlikely, and it came true.
My mom would always say to meyou're a witch, careful what you
say.
Fun fact I am actually namedafter a witch.
So my mom, carrie, who has alsobeen on the podcast, is from
the era of the show Bewitched.
You know the show Bewitched,samantha.
She has the magical nose thatshe scrunches in certain ways to

(01:50):
make magic happen.
Well, I think that was my mom'sfavorite show growing up.
That's at least the story I wastold.
I was named after her and Iremember growing up loving shows
like Sabrina, sailor Moon, charmed, if you know.
Charmed oh my, my goodness.
I would love to connect withyou about that, because I don't
really talk to any people whowere into charm, but I've
literally never missed anepisode really anything that was

(02:12):
featuring a strong female whomade her impossible.
Her reality was something I wasdrawn to, and bonus points if
she had a cat.
And while I still refer tomyself as a witch.
Now I'm more call itmanifesting, and so this is my
biggest, most epic manifestationto date.
Let me take you back in time tothat period of Sam, this period

(02:35):
before Freedom Lifestyle, beforeI was married, before I was a
woman in her 30s in a smallmountain town.
This old Sam, she was anentrepreneur.
If you remember from an episodeI did, maybe like season three,
something like that, but it wasall about the very first
business I ran with my two bestfriends.
If you heard the episode orwere part of my life back then,

(02:58):
you remember the name Ezzy Lynn.
We were a fashion andaccessories company and we are
part of that industry, and a bigpart of how we sold our product
was to go to music festivals.
We were always on the hunt forcelebrity endorsements, and
celebrities very frequentlyattended music festivals.
We had our eyes set on a dreampartnership though Ariana Grande

(03:20):
.
She has that signature highponytail, and one of our most
popular products was ourhandmade hair scrunchies.
Ari is also known for being ananimal lover and our business
partnered with the WorldWildlife Fund, so every single
scrunchie we had was named afteran endangered species, and when
you purchase that scrunchie,20% of every sale would go

(03:43):
towards adopting that particularanimal through the World
Wildlife Fund.
We knew if Ariana Grande heardabout us she would love it, and
so me and my co-founders.
We were often traveling to musicfestivals.
Traveling around the US, wewould travel to New York fairly
often having meetings with majormagazines like Cosmopolitan and
17 Magazine.

(04:03):
I still remember fangirlingover their on-site closets.
That was such a fun time in mylife.
But there was one particulartrip to New York that really
stands out.
So on this particular visit meand one of my co-founders we
were in New York.
We were at our Airbnb and Ihave a very clear memory of us
getting ready to go for thatnight.
We were going to go clubbing,we were curling our hair with
our wands and I have a veryclear memory of us getting ready

(04:24):
to go out for that night.
We were going to go clubbing,we were curling our hair with
our wands and I don't even knowwhy we turned on the TV.
Thinking about turning on cabletelevision right now seems so
strange, but for context, thiswas about a decade ago, and so
we turned on the television.
We're getting ready and on TVsuddenly we're hearing how it is

(04:44):
the 40th anniversary episodefor Saturday Night Live tonight
and it is going to be recordedlive tonight in New York City.
And guess what?
They're telling us where therecording is.
They're like giving us theaddress at Rockefeller Center,
where I guess they record all ofthe episodes.
I've never tried to go watch ataping of SNL.

(05:04):
I do love watching SNL and Iwould have, but I just couldn't
believe that they were tellingus where it was gonna be.
And now they're announcing allof the celebrities that are
gonna be in attendance andthey're naming everybody.
And sure enough they mentionedTaylor Swift.
So again, this is about 10years ago.
Taylor Swift has always beenhuge, but back then that was

(05:25):
probably a period where she wasstill able to go to events like
this without completely stealingthe show, which is something
they criticize her of doing nowtoday.
In my mind, she was the onlycelebrity, though, there that
mattered, and when I heard, shewas in the same town as me and I
knew where she was going to beat a certain time.
Our plans for the night veryquickly changed and we were

(05:47):
determined, and so we had noidea what our plan was or what
we were going to do.
I would say our mission waseven just get eyes on Taylor
Swift.
We just wanted to see her.
Just give me a glimpse of thispiece of perfection, and let me
see her in person At this point.
I had been to, I think, acouple Taylor Swift's.

(06:08):
I'd been to the Red concert andthis was during 1989.
So I had seen her in concerttwice, but no, hadn't just seen
her walking around, and you know, there's in my mind never too
many times for you to see TaylorSwift.
So, luckily, my business partnerwas very much on board.
She was a big Taylor fan, butshe also saw the value in
potentially connecting withthese other celebrities.

(06:28):
So we just took an Uber and weliterally just put in
Rockefeller Center.
We're like, I don't even knowwhat this building looks like or
what this is, but we're justgoing to go there and see what
happens.
And because they were recordinglive on the television while we
were getting ready of thesepeople heading into the venue,
the event had already started.

(06:48):
So we had clearly missed all ofthe chaos of the red carpet
from what must have happenedoutside that building maybe an
hour prior.
But the red carpet was stillthere.
There was still, like you know, some signs that something had
happened, but no one was reallyaround.
We just basically beeline tothis back door where we saw the

(07:11):
red carpet had kind of stillbeen there, and when we get
there there's limos outside ofthe building and people who look
like the limo drivers hangingoutside smoking and just
chilling.
We decide to spark up someconversation with them.
You know, very gentle, you knowyou don't want to come off as
like some crazy van that'sdangerous or unhinged or is

(07:33):
going to cause problems.
So we played it cool.
Oh, like what's happening overhere?
What's going on?
Smiley, smiley, smiley, nothingto worry about.
We are just two innocent youngladies curious what's going on.
And so they tell us oh, there'sa big event in here, a lot of
celebrities.
You just missed it.

(07:54):
And then eventually we spill thebeans.
We're like, honestly, we knowwe are actually from Canada,
from a small town, and we arevery interested in meeting
Taylor Swift.
We love Taylor Swift.
By any chance is she in there?
And I think just us being soupfront about that's what we
were here to do that somethingmust have been charming about it

(08:16):
, these young, innocent womenwho were from Canada, who are
now here thinking that they werejust going to get to meet
Taylor Swift and not causing anyharm, they just decided that
they liked us, I guess, and theywere going to give us all of
the information that they had.
We hung out with these limodrivers and they were telling us
oh yes, like, hang around here, maybe another hour or so and

(08:37):
the event's going to end.
And if you stay still and yoube cool and hang back against
the wall, in about an hour or soall of these celebrities are
going to be coming through thestore and they're going to be
getting into their limos.
We're like, oh my gosh, okay, thank you so much.
Of course we can be cool, absolutely.
We're not here to cause anytrouble, so we're just hanging

(08:59):
out with them.
You know, smoking some cigars, doing what you do in New York
City in your 20s with your BFF,trying to meet a celebrity.
And, sure enough, the eventends and the celebrities start
coming out.
I would say the biggestcelebrity I remember seeing was
Leonardo DiCaprio.
He walked by, he was with hismom, very sweet, but honestly I

(09:23):
didn't care, like.
I was so laser focused on like,is Taylor next, is Taylor next,
is Taylor next?
And because we were doingexactly what the limo driver
said, we were just kind of likehanging back beside this wall.
No one had an issue with it.
But when I describe how closewe were, like just imagine a
building and then imaginethere's an entrance to the
building and imagine there'sbasically two brick walls at the

(09:45):
end of the entrance, next tothe doors, we were just
literally back up against thedoors, like the wall beside the
doors, and people thecelebrities were just coming out
through there with theirbodyguards, with everything, and
we were just being chill.
We were just acting like it'sno big deal.
Now that I think about it, Ireally can't believe that no
security had an issue with usstanding there.

(10:05):
But again, we played it cool.
We'd been there for a while.
We had been with these limodrivers.
It kind of seemed at this pointlike we were meant to be there.
We had probably been there forlike 90 minutes at this point,
hanging out with these limodrivers, learning about their
lives, learning about what theydo, learning a little bit about
celebrity culture here and there, and they were learning a lot
about our obsessive fandom andabout our business and we are

(10:29):
really here for a purpose.
We would love to meet her andpotentially get an endorsement
for this great business ideathat we have.
It's a real business actually, not just an idea.
Okay, so now it's like 30minutes probably of celebrities
exiting the building and gettinginto their limos and no tailor.
And then the line gets quieterand quieter.

(10:49):
We see big names like KristenWiig.
I remember from SNL, jimmyFallon so many A-listers were
leaving the event and gettinginto these limos and I guess
there was an after party and andno Taylor, no Taylor, no Taylor
.
So finally, during this time, the limo drivers are coming and

(11:09):
going.
So I don't really understand howit works.
They must have just had somekind of service where they were
hired to just drive back andforth between the Rockefeller
Center and Plaza Hotel.
Rockefeller Center was wherethe actual event and the
recording was happening and thePlaza Hotel was the after party,
a couple of minutes away, andthese drivers were just coming
back and forth.
They'd pick up a group ofcelebrities, drop them off, come

(11:30):
back, and so this whole timewe're still here, they see us
again, we're still here, they'relike no Taylor, we're like no
Taylor.
And then people just eventuallystopped coming out the doors.
So I say what's going on?
Where's Taylor?
To the limo driver and just askyou know, still being polite,
but also, come on, you told meTaylor would come here.
Where's Taylor?
And she's like I'm going to gofind out what's going on for you

(11:52):
.
All right, interruption.
Bagheera has just joined me onthe couch and so if you hear a
purring in the background, that's what's happening.
I got to keep moving becauseI'm recording this and then
literally getting on a plane toAthens in 12 hours and I'm so
excited I'm in the middle ofthis story, so I'm just going to
continue.
Where was I?
I'm not getting frustrated, butI'm worried that it's no longer

(12:14):
going to happen.
And so I say to the limodrivers hey, what's going on?
No one else seems to be comingout of the building.
Hello, you told me I was goingto get to meet Taylor.
So he goes and starts talking tosome of the bodyguards or some
security that's part ofRockefeller Center, some type of
event management of some kindTalking to them, talking to them

(12:35):
, talking to them.
And he comes back and he's likeso there was a second door,
there was another door thatcelebrities were leaving from,
and I guess she left from thatdoor and we were like oh OK,
well, pretty cool.
Well, pretty cool.
Leonardo DiCaprio, kristen Wiig, jimmy Fallon a number of other

(12:55):
celebrities have been in ourpresence tonight and what a cool
experience.
At this point, we think this isthe best it's going to get.
So we're like we're going to gohome and one of the limo
drivers who's been hanging outwith us the whole night and he's
like well, do you want to ride?
I'm kind of done now, so happyto drop you ladies off wherever
you want to go.
Like okay, that's actuallypretty nice.
So we hop in the back of hislimo and as we're driving, I

(13:16):
guess we're just thanking himmore, being polite, telling him
how, what an exciting night.
You know, didn't picture thisis what we were going to be
doing.
Thought we were going to goclubbing.
Where do you think we should gonow?
But so sad we didn't meetTaylor Swift.
So he's like okay, let's justswing by the after party.
Okay, let's just see, maybethere's something happening
going on there.

(13:36):
I'm going to drive by the PlazaHotel.
So he drives by the Plaza Hoteland there's not really much
happening outside anymore.
All the celebrities have goneinside, but there's a lot of
paparazzi outside and a lot ofpeople who have now gathered
around who know what's happening.
So it's pretty chaotic.
But he has this sign on hislimo that basically has shown

(13:58):
that he is verified driver andthat he is allowed to come in
and out all night and has beendropping celebrities off all
night.
So he's circling the buildingnow and I can tell he's getting
an idea.
I'm like, ok, a man with anidea.
What are we going?
What are we thinking?
I wish I remembered his nameright now.
I wish this episode made it tohim, because this was literally
the most iconic thing that'sever happened to me.

(14:20):
So he's driving around thebuilding the Plaza Hotel and
he's thinking.
He's thinking it's like okay,I'll tell you what.
I am going to just pull up outfront of the event, I'm going to
get out of the limo and I'mgoing to open your door and
here's what you're going to do.
You are going to beeline andyou're going to walk with
confidence right into thatbuilding and maybe they're going

(14:42):
to think you're a celebrity andthey're just going to let you
in.
You know, young girls lookinggood think we're going clubbing.
So you know we're in somefitted outfits let's say More on
that in a second but we're likeokay, are you sure he's like
confidence.
Nobody wants to offend acelebrity by not knowing who
they are.
That's a big part of theculture around here.

(15:03):
Like, okay, let's see if thisworks.
So sure enough, he pulls up outfront in the event.
We see the paparazzi, we seeall of this crowd.
We see the clear wasn't a redcarpet, but a clear carpet
leading up to the event Bigbodyguards outside.
He comes, he opens her door.
I literally just go into fightor flight mode.

(15:24):
I walk out of that limo with myheels on and I just walk
straight towards the buildingand the bodyguards open the door
.
They literally opened the doorfor us and so now we can't
celebrate.
All our eyes are on us.
But you know, we kind of justlook at each other with like, oh
my god, be cool, be cool.

(15:47):
If there was ever a moment tobe cool, it's literally right
now.
So now we're in the building.
I've never been into the PlazaHotel.
I do not know the layout ofthis building, I don't know what
is what or where I'm going orwhat to look for, but I have to
seem pretty confident now.
So as we're walking in I kid younot 50 Cent is coming out and
we're like hey, what are youdoing?

(16:07):
Why are you leaving?
He chit chats with us.
He's like, yeah, sorry, ladies, got to get up early tomorrow,
have some things.
And I'm like, oh no, don'tleave, come on, hang out with us
Again.
We just keep thinking this isthe new peak, this is the new
best it's going to get.
Now we're talking to 50 Centthis is now our first
conversation with a celebrityand so we're chit chatting with

(16:29):
him.
He's joking around, flirting alittle.
It's like no, ladies, sorry, Igot to go and kisses us on the
cheek.
We're like, oh, my God, okayNow.
Maybe you're rolling your eyesLike, why do we treat
celebrities as gods?
But for me, I've always beenvery interested in celebrity

(16:49):
culture.
I've always been interested intabloids.
I grew up reading Perez Hiltonand I think it's super
interesting the lifestyles ofthe rich and famous, and I don't
deny that.
I think it'd be pretty cool tobe famous like that and what
that's like.
And so talking to celebrities, getting kissed on the cheek by a
celebrity, was pretty excitingfor me at about 24 years old,

(17:10):
which was how old I was at thetime.
Okay, so what happens next?
So then we keep walking andwe're just trying to like follow
the music.
Right, we can tell there's aparty in this hotel or building
somehow, but we don't reallyknow what it is or where it is.
So we find this area wherethere's clearly a party and not

(17:31):
to be too rude.
But it was like C-listcelebrities, I think his name's
David Spade yeah, he was there, you know, not really A-lister
for my generation, not who I'mthere to meet, but he's in this
area with some other celebrities.
We're kind of hanging out therefor a second and I'm like no,
this isn't it, like this is notthe party.
Where are all of these bigcelebrities that are here?

(17:52):
And all of a sudden I see asign and it says Grand Ballroom.
And I was like Grand Ballroom, what is that?
If you've been to the PlazaHotel, maybe you know what I'm
talking about, but for me I'dnever been in the building
before, so I have my anothercore, distinct memory.
We walk into the Grand Ballroom.
As I open the door, it is agigantic ballroom and every

(18:14):
single person in there isdressed in not just classy
wedding wear, I'm talking blacktie gowns and me and my
girlfriend are dressed to goclubbing.
So, thankfully, to go with myyou know skinny jeans that were
luckily dark gray and a you knowcleavage popping out type tank

(18:37):
top.
I had this gold scarf, thisthick gold scarf that I brought
as, I guess, a jacket.
I don't know what I was doing,so I wrap it around me as a
shawl to add some you know, royal look to me At least, it
was very gold and shiny, butthat's what I have on.
And then my girlfriend justdoesn't take off her jacket.
Okay, she is in a tight blackpeacoat jacket and she is just

(19:01):
keeping that on.
She keeps it nice and tight, she keeps it fitted.
We need to be cool, we need tofit in right now.
Because as I open this door, notonly do I see the biggest
celebrities that I've everimagined or dreamed of my entire
life on stage it's PaulMcCartney and Jimmy Fallon, and
Jimmy's yelling hey, taylor, come up stage, will you play

(19:22):
something for us?
And as I'm walking into thebuilding, taylor Swift is
walking up on the stage withJimmy Fallon and Paul McCartney
and I kind of black out, I justliterally beeline for the stage,
I ditch my friend, we didn'teven communicate.
I just go into the middle ofthe dance floor and I'm, like

(19:44):
you know, two rows back.
Let's say it's standing room,it's just a casual party.
And Taylor goes up and she putson a guitar and they play all
of them, the three of them.
They play Shake it Off, some1989 classics, then they end up
playing some Beatles music andthey do like four or five songs,
and this whole time I am justcompletely mesmerized.

(20:05):
I finally go on my phone to belike, hey, I should really look
out for my girlfriend that I'mhere with and she says, oh, my
fucking God, I just met ArianaGrande.
I was like what the fuck?
She's like what the fuck?
I gave her one of ourscrunchies.
I couldn't even believe this.

(20:26):
She was like come here, I'mlike I'm not moving anywhere.
I am about to meet Taylor Swift, like I'm staying here, you do
you?
She's like Kate, I'm hangingout near the like cheese food
area.
She was hanging out near thefood playing it cool, just had
had her Ariana Grande moment.
Like dying to hear.
But I'm also getting a privateTaylor Swift concert pretty much
.
And so this whole time, becauseI was just so focused on Taylor

(20:48):
Swift, I was really not awareof my surroundings.
Now, emma Stone is one of TaylorSwift's good friends, right?
You know this if you areinterested in Taylor Swift or
Emma Stone.
But you know she's in the squad, emma.
Taylor Swift is quite tall, emma Stone is quite small.
This entire time I had beendancing beside Emma Stone, who

(21:09):
was barefoot, because she's EmmaStone and she's that cool.
She's barefoot on the dancefloor and she has her high heels
in her armpit and she's dancingto Taylor and I don't notice
her.
But Taylor goes off stage andnow Taylor is walking to go see
her friend Emma, and I amstanding behind Emma.
So Taylor is literally justwalking up towards me.

(21:31):
Like, imagine I'm in a dancefloor.
She comes off the stage andjust starts walking towards me
as Miley Cyrus now goes on stageand starts performing some
music too.
Like, how is this my real life?
So now Taylor Swift and Emmaare dancing beside me and I am
now dancing, trying to be cool, dancing beside me and I am now

(21:52):
dancing, trying to be cool.
At this point, my friend Soniacomes and nobody has their
phones out.
Okay, we actually see.
We're probably now like maybe ahalf an hour.
We're in this experience whereMiley's performing, jimmy's
still on stage, paul McCartney'sthere, people are coming and
people are going.
They're just riffing.
Anyone's going on stage andjust making music.
It's a party.
There's celebrities everywhereand two different times while

(22:19):
we're dancing basically besideTaylor and Emma, without talking
to them, we see people try tocome up to Taylor and I don't
know what happens.
It was men, somethinginteraction happened, but all of
a sudden a man comes, which I'massuming is Taylor's bodyguard,
and that person is no longer atthe party.
So I'm like, okay, well, Idefinitely can't get kicked out.
I don't want to talk to her andget in trouble and I also don't
want to annoy her.

(22:40):
Like she's probably trying tohave a fun night.
She's with her people.
You know, I'm just a peasant,I'm just an average person
trying to fit in and be at thisparty with my scarf draped
around me so that no one cantell I'm in a tank top during a
black tie party and I'm notmeant to be here.
I'm not invited.
So I got to play it, cool.
But I'm like I have to get aphoto.
I have to say, hi, I have to dosomething, okay.

(23:03):
And so I'm like to my friend.
I'm like I'm gonna ask her aphoto and my friend's like don't
, don't ask her for a photo.
I'm like I'm going to ask her aphoto.
My friend's like don't do it,don't do it, you're going to get
us in trouble.
I'm like I'm going to do it, soI just wait for my moment.
I'm kind of dancing and I waslike do you think we could have

(23:27):
a picture?
And she was like sure, let'stake a couple.
And then I grabbed out my phoneand it happened so quick and I
just grabbed two selfies andthen that was it.
I had the picture and we justkept dancing there and that was
it.
In my mind there's like amillion things.
I wanted to tell her howfabulous she is, how much she's
changed my life, how red shouldreally be a 10 minute song,

(23:50):
which of course now we all knowthat it is.
And then I'm going to thisconcert of hers coming up and oh
, by the way, I left you thisgift.
Like I have a million thingsthat I'm going to say to her and
I want to say to her, but Ijust knew I had to keep it cool.
So I chill, I dance, I hang outwith them and eventually they,
they leave and we spend the restof the night partying with

(24:10):
these A-list celebrities.
I'm not kidding when I sayeveryone that I think is super
cool is there?
Justin Timberlake, beyonce,jay-z, I've already mentioned
Ariana Grande, miley Cyrus, paulMcCartney Literally the list
goes on.
Everybody who was super relevantabout 10 years ago was in town
for this party.
I now know there's like thisiconic photo of Donald Trump was

(24:33):
there in the audience.
I don't remember seeing him.
I do remember seeing some superdrunk and super sloppy
celebrities, which wasinteresting to kind of get a fly
on the wall perspective of that.
But again, I just tried to likeplay it cool.
If people would talk to me, Iwould talk to them.
The bar was flowing, the foodwas around and, yeah, me and my

(24:54):
girlfriend just had the bestnight, literally of our entire
lives, just creeping oncelebrities and trying to fit in
and the whole time just knowingthat in my pocket I got a photo
to prove it and she was thesweetest, nicest person, which
is exactly how I wanted her tobe.
To prove it, and she was thesweetest, nicest person, which
is exactly how I wanted her tobe.
It would have sucked if shewould have said, nah, sorry, not

(25:18):
tonight, I'm just out with myfriends, but she didn't.
You know, she took that twoextra seconds.
She saw the look of a fan whojust loved her, who was just
going to be nice, and this wouldhave meant the world to me and
it did.
And I think that that says alot, not only about the type of
character she is, but maybe thetype of businesswoman she is.
I have literally streamed everysingle song she has ever played

(25:39):
and put out onto Spotify Music.
Last year I was, I think, inthe 2% of her fans.
All time I have tried to get toevery single one of her
concerts.
It's pretty much impossible togo to the Heiress tour, so hit
me up if you have any hookups.
I doubt anyone who has a hookupwould share it with me, but hey
, manifesting Witch vibes, I'mreally dying to go.

(26:00):
I want to go to the Decembershow in Vancouver, her first
time here.
I live in Squamish now howperfect would that be.
But alas, no tickets to that.
But even from that moment, likeI really think that things could
have gone two differentdirections.
She could have just been rudeto me and then it would have
broke my heart and I kind ofwould have just snubbed her for
the rest of her career.

(26:21):
But it totally didn't go thatway and I'm just so happy.
What else is important fromthat night?
I guess back to the ArianaGrande story, so maybe we can
close the loop there.
So when me and my friendseparate, she tells me that
basically what happened to heris when she went and was hanging
out by the food trying to becool because her best friend
just ditched her.
Immediately she said ArianaGrande was there and at the food

(26:45):
area too, and Sonia just saidhey, I Sonia just went up to her
Like said hey I Sonia just wentup to her, like I'm pretty sure
she just went up to her and wasjust like hello, you're amazing
, you have the best hair.
And I think Ariana Grande likecomplimented her and told her
like how beautiful she was orsomething.
She is my old co-founder, she'sbeautiful woman, so a

(27:05):
well-deserved compliment.
Ariana Grande like complimentsher and then Sonia says I think
Sonia just pitches her on thespot and tells her about the
scrunchie business and thescrunchie company.
And she said that within like aminute after the interaction, I
guess Ariana Grande's person orpeople came up to Sonia and was
like do you have a card?
And so then not only did shehave one of our scrunchies, she

(27:27):
also had our business card forEzzy Lynn with our contact
information on it.
Sadly, nothing came from itthat we know of.
We don't know if she evervisited the website or whatever
happened to that, but that is asclose as we got to getting a
celebrity endorsement from herKind of random.
She was dating Big Sean at thetime and like this just gives
you an idea of just like thelengths we would go through to

(27:49):
try to meet celebrities.
Big Sean came and was doing hisperformance in London, ontario,
which is where I was living atthe time with my co-founders,
and we knew they were dating andthis is like really remember
the song I don't give a fuckabout you, you stupid ass, I

(28:12):
don't give you know, okay.
Well, basically I paid to go tothat concert and listen to that
trash and listen to that likeexplicit content over and over
again, because we were like, well, now Ariana Grande has our
scrunchie and maybe if we talkto big sean we can remind him
about us and who we are.

(28:33):
So we had this whole ploy andhung around after the concert,
during the entire concert, we'relike trying to figure out who
his people were.
Making some contacts figuredout like who, like some kind of
manager or somebody, was tellinghim we just want to meet him,
we just want to meet him.
And then they're like okay, well, after the show, hang back,
he'll do a few photos with somepeople.

(28:53):
If you hang around this area,we'll make sure you get one.
So now we spend the entire nightat this explicit big sean
concert and then, sure enough, when it ends, they pull us aside
and there's a small queue ofpeople who now get to go meet
big sean and take a photo withhim.
And it was so funny.
We get up to him and we're justlike okay, so we just met
Ariana Grande a couple of weeksago and we're hoping you could

(29:15):
give her this Like we love herso much, we just have this like
package ready to give to him.
And he just looked at us and hewas like so do you want a photo
with me?
Though?
And we're like uh, yeah, sure, sure, okay, yeah, sure.
So we like take a photo withbig shot.
I'm like but can you give thisto ari?
So funny.
Again, nothing came for it, butyou got to take your shot in
life, right, if there's bigthings that you want to happen,

(29:35):
things that that would justdelight you and make you so
happy or could potentiallychange your life forever.
You got to go for them.
You got to be confident and putyourself in these situations
where magic can happen.
And then you know, you know, sometimes it does, sometimes it
doesn't.
But even though there's been afew things that I wanted to make
happen and manifest into myreality and they didn't come

(29:56):
true, it wasn't like Iquestioned my witch vibes, it
wasn't like I questioned myability to now manifest.
It's just realizing that.
Okay, that wasn't meant for meright now, but something's
coming.
If not this, something better.
Okay, friends, I love you somuch.
