Interludes are short segments between regular episodes with no editing but WITH leather creaking. It's a chance to hear a little more about what's going on in my life. I'm getting ready to go to Scotland! This interlude is a little early (to coincide with my trip) ... so might be a little gap before the next full episode--first Friday June.

Edge (00:00):
Welcome to full cow, a podcast about leather kink and
BDSM. My name is edge Mypronouns are he him, and I'm
your host. And this is anotherintroduce the episode between
episodes offered raw andunedited, but with leather
creaking. And I have titled thisinterlude pre Scotland. But the

(00:21):
truth is that when you'relistening to it, I will actually
be there. I am recording this onApril 25. And that's what makes
it the pre part. But I amvisiting Scotland from May 11 to
May 22. This episode will bereleased on May 12. So if you
are subscriber and you'relistening to it, when it's
released, then I'm actually inScotland. And if you're in the

(00:43):
area, I hope you will come andmeet me, the best place to find
me will be the leather social inGlasgow, on Sunday, May 14, at

3pm to 6 (00:55):
30pm. I'm translating these 24 hour times from 1500 to
1830. At the gallery bar inGlasgow, I'm not going to spend
a lot of time on the apps orrecon or anything like that. But
if you go there, I willdefinitely be there probably for
the whole time. And I would loveto meet you. I wanted to talk

(01:18):
about my experience withinternational travel in general.
This is really relatively newfor me. You know, my first big
trip internationally was lastyear to Dublin, Ireland. And I
was really, I've been afraid ofsolo international travel.
Because in part I'm such anintrovert. I mean, besides all

(01:39):
the logistics and working it outand and arranging flights and
hotels and currencies and allthat. Besides the logistics, I'm
such an introvert that I kind ofimagined in my head that I would
just end up in my hotel room, watching reruns of friends. And
I thought that's gonna be myexistence. I'm gonna go to

(02:00):
another country and stay in myroom all the time. But I was
driven to go to Ireland becauseit was a bucket list iron item.
And because Irish accents, oh myGod, and they make me weak in
the knees. So effing sexy. Solast year, I went to Dublin. And
I was very intentional about it.
This is where I really developsome of my intentional skills

(02:21):
around different trips. I talkedabout that as well in the IML
interlude. So I knew I hadseveral Irish people that I
talked to on social media. And Ireached out to them, and I made
plans to meet them. And it wasan amazing experience. I mean,
first of all, Dublin's beautifulcity. It's very walkable. And

(02:42):
it's old. You know, I live inUnited States. Nothing here is
old, because we're not old. Buteverything in Dublin just felt
like rooted in this history. Andthis, this history that I just
never had access to growing upor moving through my own
country. The weather wasinteresting. It was pretty cold

(03:05):
for Floridian but I was thereduring the massive Heatwave,
which then was also interestingbecause my hotel had no air
conditioning. I'm not going torave about that. The best part
about Dublin was really theintentional connections I made
with people. And I, you know, Ionly did one touristy thing, I

(03:27):
went to go see the Book ofKells, which was a bit of a
disappointment, right? It's abeautifully medieval illuminated
manuscript of the Gospels. Andso it's supposed to have all
these gorgeous illustrations.
But it all depends on what pageit's open to. And if it's opened
at the beginning of a chapter, wow, you're gonna see something
amazing. But if it's just opento a random page, it's going to

(03:49):
be kind of boring. And it wasopen to a random page when I
went. The upside was it was airconditioned, and I was really
grateful for that. But they haveto turn the pages every few
weeks at the manuscript agesevenly. And so that was sort of
like, okay, that was the onlytouristy thing I did. But what I
did was connect with people. Andthat was amazing, because I got

(04:10):
to learn about the country, through people who lived there.
And so I discovered things Iwould never have discovered as a
tourist, for example, I knowthat any Irish person can say
one thing for sure in Irish, canI go to the bathroom? And that's
because growing up and when youwere in school, you had asked

(04:31):
the teacher to go to thebathroom in Irish and so
everyone remembers that. Even ifthey don't remember the rest of
the Irish, they learned. Ilearned about red lemonade,
which doesn't taste anything atall, like lemonade, which is
really far more aromatic. Butit's something that people would
have grown up drinking, and Iwould never have discovered it
if I was just a tourist duringall the tourist things. The

(04:53):
other thing that happened whileI was in Dublin, is that
coincidentally I plan my trip tocoincide I had with an oink
event. And oink is out in kink.
And Dublin doesn't have yourleather bar or a leather pub.
And so they do these monthlysocials where people show up and
gear at different bars aroundthe city. That gave me an
incredible opportunity to weargear in another country, and to

(05:15):
connect to leather peopleoutside of the US in person,
wonderful. In fact, I made somereally deep connection through
that, including someone that Icontinue to chat with through
text, just about every day. SoIreland was this amazing
experience for me, I learned Ican travel internationally solo
and can love it. I have to havethis wonderful maybe once in a

(05:40):
lifetime experience of seeingthe beautiful country, visiting
Galway, and cork and Dublin, andspending time in leather. And
meeting really special, kind, generous, open hearted, funny,
sexy people. So I made thisresolved that I would kind of do
one big international trip everyyear, Scotland was next on my

(06:03):
list, because Scottish accent isabout as sexy as an Irish
accent. I don't think it's acompetition, I will take either
one, I will tell you that.
Knowing that I had gone to awink, and had an amazing time, I
was very intentional in planningthis trip to Scotland, I did

(06:26):
some research to find out sortof what leathers I can Scotland
and they have a leather socialevery month in Glasgow. So I
made sure that I would be therefor that social, then that
wasn't the only determinant, Ihad to also coordinate my
schedule, work, flights, all ofthat. But I was really, really
pleased to know that I would bethere for the leather social, I

(06:48):
am hoping that I'm going to havea similar experience to what I
had in Ireland. I am beingintentional in my connections, I
have reached out some people Ifollow on social media. And I
have a couple of people who aregonna give me tours of
Edinburgh. And I'm lookingforward to that. And then I'm
hoping to meet more people aswell at this leather social. If

(07:10):
you're in Glasgow, please showup and meet me if you want to
come to Glasgow, it's a reallygreat chance to meet me, you
know, I get out of this countryabout once a year. And next
year, it's going to be maybemore of the United Kingdom maybe
like Wales, maybe likeManchester, maybe London, or

(07:34):
it's going to be Spain, Madridand Barcelona. If you want me to
get to Berlin, that's two orthree years off, right? So I
don't I have a lot ofopportunity to interact with all
these amazing people who followmy media around the world. And
this is one opportunity if youwanted to meet me if you're in
Glasgow, come to let me checkthe name again, come to the

(07:55):
gallery bar on that Sunday, andhang out with me. And let's just
talk talk about weather and talkabout Scotland versus the United
States. Let's talk about howcrazy Florida is whatever you
want. Beyond that, I don't havea lot of touristy things
planned. I did you know I'marriving in the morning. I think
I get it in about 11. And Idon't know where I saw this

(08:17):
suggestion. It worked reallywell for me in Dublin. Because
when I arrived in Dublin, I gotthere at like, eight in the
morning or something crazy.
There was no way I could checkinto my hotel. But I had read
somewhere or someone had told mewhat you do is you leave your
bags at the hotel, and you justjump on one of those bus tours
of the city. And because you'redead tired, you don't really
have to pay attention. It'sgreat way to fill up time. And

(08:39):
it really gave me such a greatsense of Dublin as a city and I
got to see a lot of the touristythings all at once. So when I
get to Scotland, I'm going to bebased in Glasgow. I'm going to
dump my bags at the hotelbecause I think I get in maybe
around 11am And then I'm goingto hop on a bus tour and see
Glasgow. I do have the leathersocial planned on Sunday. I have

(09:02):
a couple of people my tourguides for Edinburgh that I'm
going to firm up plans with andthen I don't know what I'm gonna
do. I know that I want to seethe west so I might take a train
somewhere West. I'm not sureyet. I know that I want to see
the north. So maybe Dundee maybeAberdeen maybe both maybe

(09:23):
Inverness, I will probablyabsolutely do a bus tour to Loch
Ness, just so you know. MaybeI'll see Nessie you never know.
And it seems like a bus towardsthe best option there. Not only
do I get to see more of thecountryside, but it seems like
taking the train and ending upin Loch Ness is very
complicated. I love I love thatI can hop on a train and be in

(09:47):
the north of Scotland in threehours. I love that I
can hop on a train and be inEdinburgh in a in an hour. Those
things are going to be amazing.
And I'm also going to get tosample the different variety I
have a Scottish accent. I'mcertain there will be times I
will struggle. To be fair, whenI was in Dublin, I was mostly
good with sort of a Dublinaccent. But there were people

(10:08):
who were sort of from thecountry. And I had a little
trouble understanding them. SoI'm certain I'm going to
struggle. But I'm going to puton my dopey eyed, innocent
American look. And hopefullypeople will be kind and slowly,
slowly speak to me. That's it.
My time there is about rest andrecharging. I haven't had a real

(10:29):
vacation. In some ways sinceDublin last summer, it is about
sleeping in and it's abouteating whatever I want. And then
it is about this leather momentthat I could have on that Sunday
in Glasgow, hopefully makingsome more connections that
people I can have dinner with orlunch with or coffee with or
scones with. It's about seeingthe cities, but without a clear

(10:55):
agenda. So I might just wake upone morning and sailing. I think
I'm gonna go to Inverness,Inverness today, and look up the
train schedule and go, we don'treally have that sort of luxury
here in the United States. We'rea damn big country, and we'd
have shit public transportation,we certainly don't have a very
good train system. So the ideathat I can just get up and hop

(11:16):
on a train and be in anothercity in the same country and see
new sights. I'm really lookingforward to that. I love food. So
I will certainly explore thecuisine. I don't think you're
going to get me to try haggis, but who knows, perhaps,
certainly, I would like someshortbread and scones, and

(11:39):
probably some salmon. I don'teven know what the other
Scottish foods are. And this isit. This is the pattern I want
to create for my life. I'mreally blessed to have the sort
of ability to do one big trip ayear. And so each summer,
sometime between May and August,I want to go to another country.

(11:59):
I want to sample their leatherculture through a leather
social, or a leather pub or bar.
And I want to connect withpeople and spend time getting to
know them because that's how Iget to know the country I'm in
is through these people. If youhave a country you want me to
visit comm send me an email atwhat is it Ajit Volkow dot show.

(12:21):
Or you can use the Ask edgefeature, either the voicemail at
SpeakPipe or you can email askat full calidad show. And I'll
print them out or because partof what gets me into these
countries is there are people Iwant to meet. So make me want to
come visit you make me want tocome visit your country. And I

(12:42):
will put it in the hopper afterI get home so I can promise you
June's interlude will be thepost Scotland interlude. But at
this point, I'm about two weeksfrom the trip. Tomorrow will be
two weeks from the trip. And I'mstarting to really now wrap my
head around it, get some littleitems I want to have with me on

(13:05):
my travels, starting to plansome things I'm going to reach
out to my contacts, my localcontacts and firms and things up
with them. And then, hopefully,I'll have this amazing time and
I'll have amazing things toreport to you. We shall see. I
in general have been spending alot more time on my podcast and
I'm grateful for it. I have notfelt like doing a lot of the

(13:28):
videos on social media as Icontinue to move between
disparate levels of leatherconnection, disparate levels of
libido struggles with where Ifit in my own world,
essentially, which will makesense to you if you've been
listening to any of theinterludes. So I'm just starting
to get excited about the trip.

(13:51):
And that's where I'm at. I hopeall of you also have the chance
to travel I will say if you getto Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I'm
always happy to meet someone.
Here are the things I need Ineed sufficient notice you're
coming and even understandingthat I live here and I'm not on
vacation so I can't meet in themiddle of the day I'll be at
work I can't meet at midnight atwork the next day. I need as
much notice as you can give meand I need an understanding that

(14:15):
we're going to commit to ameeting we're going to meet
without expectation. I lovespending time with people from
around the world because Ilearned so much more about the
world I live in by talking topeople who are coming from a
different place I hope all ofyou have that experience
traveling internationallywhether that is from another

(14:35):
country to the United Statesplease visit we like foreigners
quite a bit even though ourpolitics don't seem like we do.
We we actually do they're hot.
Or if you're in the UnitedStates, I hope you have the
opportunity to travelinternationally. And and I hope
that when you do, all of yourtravels are safe. So Wish me

(15:00):
luck. And wish me Bon voyage.
And I will give you a reportweeks from now, but from your
perspective, it's only going tobe about four weeks. From my
perspective. It's like, six,eight. I don't even know how
many weeks I can't keep track ofmy publishing schedule. But I'll
give you a report. I'll let youknow how it goes. And until

(15:20):
then, I hope you remain very, very well.
