Tired of feeling weighed down by the rules and expectations of traditional religion? Longing for a simpler, more authentic relationship with Jesus? Join me as I share my own journey of discovering common sense Christianity and the liberating power of three simple words: I don't care. Learn how embracing this mindset allowed me to break free from the constraints of religious dogma and develop a more personal, intimate connection with Jesus that led to a more fulfilling, purposeful life.

In the second part of this soul-stirring episode, Ron shares how he almost got castrated in church. And we explore how reconnecting with Jesus's liberating message can help you take ownership of your calling and purpose. Discover how breaking free from guilt and condemnation and trusting in the power of God can help you uncover your true self and the destiny He has in store for you. Let's dive into the importance of being true to ourselves and how this can bring us closer to our faith while unlocking productivity and success in our lives.

Finally, let's discuss the importance of embracing our God-given destiny and living with greater purpose and passion. I share insights on how being authentic can lead to a deeper connection with our family, success in our work life, and overall fulfillment. We also touch on the power of having a relationship with Jesus, providing us with peace that surpasses all understanding, even in the storms of life. Listen in as we explore how our dreams, hopes, and desires can be resurrected if we simply ask the Lord to be with us. Don't miss this life-changing episode!

Narrator (00:01):
It's time now to get the hell out of your life.
A weekly broadcast with realpeople sharing real struggles
and offering real hope.
Today's show will encourage, inspire and empower you to face
life's challenges with a boldconfidence and renewed hope.
Now let's join our host, ronMyers.
The promoter.

Ron Meyers (00:24):
Hello, my friends, it is so good to be with you.
I've got my black coffee, i'vegot Jesus sitting in the seat
next to me, and today I do nothave a guest.
And I do that sometimespurposely, because I have things
that sometimes just get bottledup in me And I need to express

(00:44):
them to you, because the pointof this show is for you to begin
thinking about where you are inlife, where you want to go.
Are you enjoying life?
Are you getting mixed messagesabout your walk in life?
Do you leave church with morequestions than you had before

(01:07):
you went in?
You really just want a simplelife, don't you, friend?
You want to raise your children, you want to have a good job,
have a little money tucked awayfor retirement And you don't
want all these rules that theykeep throwing on you in church.
Because I know some of you haveasked yourself I don't

(01:29):
understand this Jesusrelationship.
I want to serve Jesus, but if Ihave to do everything they tell
me I need to do to be acceptedby Jesus, i'm never going to
have time for my life.
Hey, i've been there, i've donethat, i've got the t-shirt.

(01:52):
I spent so much of my lifetrying to do, do, do, to get,
get, get.
And then one day, i don't knowwhat I was doing, the light bulb
went off and I call it commonsense Christianity.
And this is what I discovered.

(02:12):
Now, maybe and I think it will, but maybe this will help
someone that is asking questionsWhat's next?
I have accepted you, jesus hasmy Lord and Savior, i believe
you are the Son of God, but whyis there still so much hell in
my life?
I don't understand this.
I go to church every Sunday, ifollow the 10 commandments, i

(02:37):
try to.
Well, let's talk, let's talk.
And you know, i found threeliberating words on my journey
to find Jesus.
And I'm telling you, friends, these are three words that are
absolutely liberating and canput you on a path to incredible

(03:01):
adventure, excitement andletting you be yourself, And
that is I don't care.
In other words, there was atime in my life where I finally
said you know what I'm doing, everything people tell me I need
to be doing, but it's notworking.

(03:21):
So I don't care what you tellme anymore, i'm going to pursue
Jesus as I see fit.
And this is what I discovered.
First of all, jesus has to be onan equal playing field across
the world.
What I say on this program hasto be able to be understood by

(03:45):
somebody in India, in Turkey, inGermany, in Hawaii, in Africa.
It has to be universal.
It can't be tied intogeographical locations.
It cannot be tied intoeducation levels.
It has to be a simple messageof the gospel, and that's

(04:08):
exactly what it is.
Jesus plus nothing equalseverything.
In other words, when I quittrying to serve Moses and I
started serving Jesus, my lifetook on a whole entirely new
meaning.
I accepted once and for allthat I was forgiven, past,

(04:34):
present and future.
I accepted once and for allthat Jesus resides inside of me.
And now when I pray, i do notlook up to pray to God, i look
within.
Jesus is my partner, he's mycoach.
And then all the rules in thedo's and the do's and the don'ts

(04:54):
and the that's and all thatnonsense.
I didn't do them anymore.
I nurtured my relationship withJesus and talked to Jesus as I
am right now with my cup ofcoffee and time with Jesus, and
he was able to show me my insideout.
In other words, the things thatwere holding me back is because

(05:17):
I wasn't trusting him enough.
I was looking at my works formy righteousness and doing
things that would please him.
When he said, ron, i am alreadypleased, i want to the cross
for you.
And the last three words I saidit is finished.

(05:40):
So what's the point of thislittle conversation That we make
it too hard, we make it toodifficult?
We've taken Christianity andturned it into a religion, and
it's not a religion, it's arelationship with Jesus Christ
and somebody out there right now.

(06:01):
I know you're having trouble,so I know you're having
struggles, but you have to saythose three words I don't care
anymore, i am going to trustJesus.
You know we rely on teachersand people with bow ties, neck
ties, diplomas, and you know, hey, they look good, they act

(06:23):
good, they smell good, so theymust be able to help me.
Well, maybe not, maybe we needto bypass everyone and just get
in touch with Jesus.
I'm telling you, my friends, when you get hooked on a certain
church or certain teacher, acertain newscaster, what happens

(06:47):
?
You have to tune in all thetime to get the next part of the
story.
It's a continuation.
Churches, newscasters, thepolitical pundits listen.
It's all about ratings.
Church is all about attendanceto many people.
If they don't have over 100people, they're going to church

(07:12):
growth conventions.
How do we grow our church?
Maybe we need different music.
Maybe we need to be a littlemore modern.
No, maybe we need a little moreJesus.
Maybe we just need to teach thegospel of grace that God came,
he lived, he died, he rose fromthe dead.

(07:33):
And when we believe him and wetrust him and we ask him into
our heart, we then are allowedto become ourself.
We are allowed by Jesus.
He has given us permission tobecome ourself, to become the
person he created you and I tobe.
Nothing more, nothing less, nobody in this entire world.

(07:56):
There's no college, there's nouniversity, there's no church,
there's no denomination that canever take you to where Jesus
wants you to go.
And now, where does he want youto go?
What is your purpose in life?
Your purpose in life is tounderstand who Jesus is, accept
him, have the forgiveness ofyour sins and then just be

(08:20):
yourself, be who he created youto be.
The more that you are freearound Jesus, the more you share
with him, the more you feel athome with Jesus, the more you
promote him, the more youexpress a new life in you
through your action and throughyour words, because people see a

(08:41):
change in you, and it's notbecause of where you went,
friends, i am on the streetevery single day of the week and
I have some news for a lot ofthe people.
With these large churches, theaverage person on the street
doesn't want to go to church.
They don't want to invest anhour to get beat up, beat down

(09:06):
and leave feeling guilty.
Shouldn't we be leaving churchexcited and celebrating about
the new life that Christ hasgiven us and that we have power,
through the Holy Spirit thatresides in us, to call on God,

(09:27):
to have prayers heard, and Godwill take care of the things in
our life when we fully trust him.
I'm telling you, friends, itreally is that simple, and when
I come back, i'm going to tellyou about the time that I was

(09:48):
almost castrated in church.
It's true.
I'll be back in just a minuteand explain that.

Narrator (09:55):
You're listening to Get the Hell Out of Your Life
with your host, ron Myers.
Real stories, real strugglesand real hope.

(10:05):
Jesus.
What do you think of when youhear that name?
Jesus?
Love life, hope, joy, peace, friend, companion, confident,
savior.
The God of the Universe lives, and he lives in the form of a

(10:26):
man.
That man is Jesus Christ, ForGod so loved the world that he
gave his only son that whosoeverbelieves in him shall have
eternal life.
Jesus, What will you do withhim?
He knocks on the door of yourheart.
When you open that door, yourlife will change forever.

(10:47):
He came that the world may havelife and may have it more
abundantly.
Ask Jesus into your heart anddiscover what living is all
about.
Call 1-888-NEED-HIM.

Ron Meyers (11:28):
Yes, we stand together, We fall together.
I love what I'm doing, i lovemy life, i love everything
because it all comes down to Idon't care what other people
think and I am expressing to theworld about who Jesus is and
what he can do for you Youpersonally, not for your

(11:51):
children, not for your wife, notfor your husband, not for your
job but what he can do for youpersonally.
Because when you have the hellout of your life because God has
placed so much heaven of peaceand purpose and destiny in you,
then you see the world in awhole different way And everyone

(12:13):
, whether it's your children, your spouse, your job, your
coworkers, everyone begins tosee a difference.
Not because you went to aschool, not because you got a
diploma, because you werewalking in the freedom of Christ
.
Now I told you before the breakthat I wanted to tell you about

(12:34):
the time I almost got castratedin church.
Let me set it up a little bit.
I've been a dreamer my wholelife.
I've been on my own since I was15, 16 years old.
I am an entrepreneur, i followdreams, i pursue dreams.
Failure is just not an optionfor me And I have always been

(12:59):
good at what I do, because Idon't quit, i persevere.
I don't look for problems, ilook for solutions.
So with that mindset and that'show I was wired okay, 20 some
years ago, i have a newrelationship with Jesus Christ.
I got tired of my old lifebecause it was bringing me down

(13:24):
and I rededicated my life toJesus and everything started
changing.
Now those dreams as anentrepreneur, those dreams as a
go getter and a dreamer startedcoming and coming and coming And
all of a sudden I found myselfin different churches and they
were scaring the hell out of mebecause they were saying be

(13:49):
careful, don't pursue what youwanna do because of your ego,
because of vanity.
Be careful, you must die forChrist to increase in your life.
Take those selfish thoughts andthose selfish dreams and cast
them away.
God has a different plan foryou.

(14:09):
They were trying to castrate me.
They were trying to take themanhood away from me, my dream,
my entrepreneurial spirit.
And can I tell you this?
For a short time it worked.
It worked.
I was afraid to do anything, iwas afraid to say anything.

(14:34):
Would it be a sin?
Would I be doing my own thing?
Would it be my ego taking me,or was it really God.
So I spent a couple yearssaying, lord, i'll just kinda be
vanilla, ron, vanilla Jesus,i'll just talk about you.
But I'll put my dreams incontrol and I'll just check out

(14:55):
what you have planned for me.
But if I see too much of me inthere, lord, i'm just gonna
knock myself in the head withthis little ball bat and I'll
come back to reality.
And you know what happenedAfter a few years.
I couldn't do it.
I couldn't do it because I wasnot being faithful to the person

(15:17):
Christ created me to become.
No, it was the opposite.
The church should have nevertried to tone me down, should
never try to tone you down.
They need to tell you to livelife with full abandon, to live
life as if Jesus is inside ofyou, guiding you, directing you,
comforting, coaching you andteaching you.

(15:38):
Because the dreams that you andI have, where do you think they
come from?
They came from the time beforewe were ever born.
We have something that nobodyelse has in the world a talent,
skill and ability.
And if we hinder that, if wehold it back, if we crush it
down, if we stifle our growthbecause we're afraid that we may

(15:59):
be more about ego, we don'tknow who Jesus is, because Jesus
has already forgiven us and hasgiven us a new life.
And now he is saying Ron, john, peter, paul, mary, whoever you
are, be yourself, be everythingI created you to be.
You have no guilt, you have nocondemnation, and you don't have

(16:21):
to worry about your ego, because you are gonna be so
addicted to my righteousnessthat everything you do, say and
become will express thecharacter and nature of who
Jesus is.
Do you really think that if youare pursuing Jesus, that you're
gonna be a selfish individual?

(16:43):
No, you're not.
You're not.
You're going to be doing things.
I said something to someone Iknew something was working in my
life years ago when I startedloving I mean really loving the
unlovable.
I could look at a person thatwas down and out or having

(17:03):
trouble and I was moved withcompassion.
I was drawn to them.
I've had to talk to them Now.
If I would have been fullycastrated like go sit in your
corner, ron, and just sit thereand pray every day and read the
Bible every day and God willtake care of you.
If I would have listened tothat, how much of my life would
have been gone.
You wouldn't be hearing this, you would not be hearing

(17:25):
anything on a broadcast orbuying radio time across the
country.
No, i am here now to let youknow that God has given you
permission to be yourself.
Be yourself, and it's time thatyou adapt those three words.
I don't care, you cannot pleaseeverybody in this world.

(17:47):
Everybody wants you to march totheir drumbeat because they
think they know better, butthey're basing that on their
experience, their growth in life, their livelihood.
They don't know all the thingsthat we've went through since we
were born.
Those things are the thingsthat have shaped our character,

(18:10):
the person that we are and theperson we're coming to be.
And when we walk in thefinished works of Jesus, knowing
that we can never lose oursalvation, that God is not
keeping a clipboard with gradesof A, b, c and Ds.
He is with us, he is for us andhe is never against us.

(18:32):
Friends, this is my time, thisis your time.
It's a very limited time ofwhat we have.
We don't know when the curtainwill close in our life.
We don't know when we're goingto fall asleep.
But if we started adaptingthose words, i don't care.

(18:56):
I've held back too long in mylife because I've tried to
please you.
I've tried to please the church.
I've tried to go to churchevery Sunday.
I've tried to do everythingright, but something is wrong.
I am not happy.
Well, i'm telling you, friends,if that is you, that is not the
Jesus of the gospel, that isnot the Jesus of the grace that

(19:19):
is trying to ooze out and comealive in you.
You have been sheltered, youhave been stuffed down, you have
been stifled with your growthin Christ, and today he is
giving you permission to fall inlove with him all over again.
It become everything you arecreated to become.

(19:40):
Am I a little wild?
Am I a little crazy?
I don't care.
That's who I am.
And would we become who we are?
We helped the world.
You know, a lot of people haveasked me a lot of people Why
don't you talk more about thepolitical atmosphere?

(20:02):
And I'd say, well, let me askyou something.
I'm taking it that you'resaying that we well
conservatives or Republicans orcertain party we know better.
Right, that we know better andwe know, if we put this person
in the White House, that God'sgoing to bless this nation.
And then I'll ask them how didJesus change Rome?

(20:27):
Did Jesus change the culture ofRome.
Did the apostles change theculture?
No, they were there.
Jesus was here to introducehimself into the world and ask
people to believe in him andthen trust him.
We've turned religion andChristianity into a political

(20:50):
party.
We're determined that if we getcertain people in power, it will
change.
It's not going to change,friends.
Read the Bible.
Everything that's happening issupposed to happen, and it's
probably going to get worse.
But what's really supposed tohappen is you and I take that
relationship on with JesusChrist and then, even in the

(21:11):
midst of a storm, even the midstof hurricanes, we have a peace
that surpasses all understanding, because God is taking care of
us.
We are resting in His arms.
In the storms of life, we don'tknow the answers, but we don't
have to know the answers becausewe are being carried through
the storms of life.
Friends, isn't that the lifethat we want to live?

(21:34):
That's when we're moreproductive.
That's when we're more lovablewith our family.
That's when we get raises andpromotions at work, when we get
the hell out of our life andstart becoming the person we
were created to be.
A lot of you have been impostersall your life.
You have a face that is not thereal face of who you are,
because if people really knowwho you were, they may not like

(21:56):
you.
So you want to put on aimpostor face When God is saying
you need to take that impostorface off and become who you are,
because I don't make junk, ihave given you a new life and
you can become you.
Why do you think some peopleare struggling in life?

(22:17):
It's not because God ispunishing them, is they're
trying to become a square peg,to fit into the circle of the
world.
And it will never work until webecome who He created us to
become and just be ourself andlaugh again, have fun again,
dream again.

(22:39):
What are the things that you'veput on hold because you thought,
wow, i better not do them.
I might be too much ego in mylife.
Well, I'm telling you today, friends, you need to dust them
off and you need to ask the Lordto just resurrect those dreams,
those hopes, those desires inyour life.
I'll be back again after thebreak.

(23:01):
I don't know what I'll talkabout then, but it will be
something to encourage and powerand inspire you.

Speaker 4 (23:07):
Ron will be back in a moment to wrap up today's
conversation.
Do you know what Ron did beforehe discovered his destiny?
He was a promoter of secularentertainment and, by his own
admission, he promoted anythinghe could make a buck at.
At the pinnacle of his success,he walked away from it all so
he could follow Jesus anddiscover his God-given destiny.

(23:27):
That was over 20 years ago andhe has never looked back.
Today he's an inspirationalspeaker on a mission to empower
individuals just like you todiscover their God-given destiny
.
Ron put his story in a novelentitled The Promoter and he
wants to give you a copy.

Ron Meyers (23:45):
My story is proof positive that God's plan for you
and I is greater than all ofour mistakes.

Speaker 4 (23:52):
Here's what a few readers have said.
I could not put it down.
I cried, giggled, gassed andlaughed out loud.
Ron has written a novel andself-help book all in one.
This book is a message of hope.

Ron Meyers (24:15):

I have a passion for life.
I have a passion for JesusChrist.
I have a passion to help you inany way I possibly can.
I'm often asked how many peoplelisten to your broadcast or
your podcast, ron.

(24:35):
I don't know.
I really don't care, because Iknow that each week that I'm
speaking to that one person thatGod is trying to connect with,
jesus said he'd leave 99 forthat one.
Numbers sometimes have got us soscrewed up.

(24:59):
We like numbers.
We measure success with numbersin life.
How much money do you make?
Oh, he's successful, but whatGod has done is success comes
the second, the second we inviteJesus into our heart.
The party's on The new adventure, the new thoughts, the new

(25:23):
dreams, the courage for you totell people I don't care, i've
done it this way too long andI'm not happy.
I have to change.
I have to be faithful to thegifts that God has given me
before I was born.

(25:44):
I can't be an imposter anymore.
That's the day of liberation.
That's the day of discoveringyour destiny.
Focus on today, and if you takecare of the today's, the
tomorrow's will take care ofthemselves.
I'm praying for you.
Friends, i've never met half ofyou people, i've never met most

(26:05):
of you people, but I'm prayingfor you.
I'm praying that God had youlisten to this and to reveal to
you what it is that you've beensearching for, but you've been
searching in all the wrongplaces.
This is it, friends.
We're on our way.
This is a journey.

question.
