The Provoder.

Ron Meyers (00:28):
Well, hello my friends.
Well, in the studios, I feel sowell protected because I have
this big biker next to me, rickthe biker.
Rick, you look, you'reintimidating.
I mean, I'm just ready to giveyou all my money and my car and
you want my dogs and cats.
Here they are, but how are you?

Rick The Biker (00:48):
Rick, I've been told that.
I've been told I was.
I was here.
I am six foot tall, 200,actually lost some weight.
I'm 227 pounds, ball headed, bearded, and I've got my my
riding vest on my red shirtbecause it's Friday.

Ron Meyers (01:11):
And most of all you have is you've got the spirit of
the Lord inside you.
I mean you can tell you you'vegot some Jesus inside you.

Rick The Biker (01:18):
Yes, sir, yes sir, I do.

Ron Meyers (01:20):
Amen.
So Jesus rides with you on yourbike.

Rick The Biker (01:23):
Yes, he does.
I have the Holy Spirit, Amen.
we'll, Rick, talk about thatin just a minute.
You do a lot of work at bikerchurches and up and down the
Gulf Coast, but I know you havea story.
You've had an interesting life, and we'll talk a little bit

(01:46):
about it.
But first of all, who is Jesusto you?
He is my savior.
He's.

Ron Meyers (01:58):
You get a little emotional, don't you?
I do, I do.

Rick The Biker (02:02):
You look at the man that he was.
You look at what he did.
He didn't get drugged to thecross.
He went to the cross for who?
For us, and what brings tearsto my eyes is he went to the

(02:26):
cross for me, for me, amen.

Ron Meyers (02:31):
Yeah, it really is something to to grasp that even
if we were the only person inthe world, he'd still go to the
cross for us.
That's how much he loves us.
So where did you first meetJesus?
Did you have Jesus in yourfamily as a as a child, and were
you drugged?
A church every Sunday.

Rick The Biker (02:52):
Well, my family was was Catholic, and one day we
sat in front of the TV and itwas the greatest story ever told
in.
10 commandments was on, and allthis.
It was about that time of theyear and I asked my mother I

(03:14):
said, Mama, who who killed Jesus?
Because I was looking forsomebody to blame and she turned
and looked at me right in theeyes and said Ricky, we killed
Jesus.
That affected me.

Ron Meyers (03:36):
How old are you at that age?
You think about five.
Wow, that's a kind of apowerful question to ask your
mom at five years old.

Rick The Biker (03:44):
Yeah, and that people don't realize the effect
that Hollywood has on ourfamily's lives, for good and for
evil.

Ron Meyers (03:59):
So did this begin a journey in your life that you
wanted to find out more aboutwho Jesus was, and it was it was
that question almost was like.

Rick The Biker (04:11):
I put my hand up and God saw it and said OK, you
want to know.
I got an answer for you.
And he dealt with me throughoutthe rest of my life, until
2005,.
Right after Katrina, when I wasat, I was at this church and

(04:38):
Sitting next to the woman thatwould be my third wife, because
the other two had had gone on,and I heard a voice and it said
get up.
But it was even softer thanthat.
I turned and I looked at herand I said what did you say?

(04:59):
She's?
I didn't say nothing.
She wouldn't even sing it.
It was.
It was during the, the partwhere they were.
They weren't singing a lot ofgospel songs, it was beautiful,
but she wasn't singing, she wasjust listening.
And then I heard it again Getup.
And I turned around.

(05:21):
There was nobody around behindme on getting just Getting just
pulled into it, you know again.
And I felt something on my armand I looked and there's nothing
there and I'm thinking I betterget up and I turned to her and
I say I guess I'm going up tothe altar.

(05:42):
Ok, so up I get and I walk upto the altar.
I understand, ron.
35 years I've been a biker.
You don't show any emotion, except for maybe anger and

(06:03):
enjoyment.
You don't show tears.
That's weakness.
You might cry for a brotherthat went down, that died.
You might cry for his family, but that's it.

Ron Meyers (06:25):
So you're, mr Tough Macho, rick the Biker, sitting
in church and you hear a voice,a quiet voice, that says to
stand up.
You kind of fight that, butfinally you stood up.
Did you go to the altar?

Rick The Biker (06:38):
I went to the altar crying Before I hit my
knees.

Ron Meyers (06:46):
Sounds like you ran into Jesus at that altar and
then the Holy Spirit was therewaiting on me, they say.

Rick The Biker (06:55):
They say Jesus, jesus is a gentleman, god's a
gentleman, god is sovereign, heis the master of all, he is the
king of the universe.
He made it, he owns it, he ownsus.
Whether we like it or not, hecalled me to that altar.

Ron Meyers (07:18):
So that day you had a date with destiny.
Yes, sir, destiny was knockingon the door and about to change
your life forever.
Now, this was in 2005.

Rick The Biker (07:30):
Right after Hurricane Katrina.

Ron Meyers (07:32):
So what was the change?
What happened to Rick the Biker?

Rick The Biker (07:37):
My stone heart became flesh.

Ron Meyers (07:43):
And the Bible says he gives us a new heart.

Rick The Biker (07:47):
He certainly did that to me.
He certainly did.
I had been told that I was agood man.
You're a good person.
You do nice things for people.
I also did a lot of horriblethings to people because of the
life that I was living.
Now I'm ashamed of what I usedto be, but I hit my knees

(08:12):
because of what Jesus made me.

Ron Meyers (08:15):
Amen brother.

Rick The Biker (08:17):
Because if not for God's Holy Spirit, they'd
have found me under a bridge, under I-10, dead Either because
of something I put up my nose orin my arm, and I'd have been
alone, utterly alone, becausethe Holy Spirit wouldn't have

(08:38):
been with me, I would not havebeen known to God and I wouldn't
want to have been known to God.

Ron Meyers (08:50):
But there are a lot of people listening and say,
well, that guy, that was justhis time.
You know what?
I've been enjoying life rightnow and I don't have God in my
life.
And I'm having fun.
I'm going down the road with myhair blowing on my motorcycle
and I don't have Jesus.
You know what's the big deal?
Why do people want to tell meabout Jesus?

Rick The Biker (09:12):
The big deal is time is getting short and it's
getting shorter.
You think you got tomorrow.
There was a fella and Ifthere's any bandidos listening
and I'm sure there is becausethere are some believers in the
bandidos and it is a secularclub.

(09:37):
But there are people with heartin that club and there are
people whose hearts are owned byChrist.
And there was a fellow.
He was loved by a lot of people.

(10:00):
They called him Bandido Rock.
One day he was just riding downthe road not acting a fool.
When you become a bandido, youlearn not to act a fool.
His front tire hit a spot inthe road and it just pulled him

(10:23):
off the road.
He went down and got hit by twovehicles.
He was killed instantly.
He thought he had tomorrow.
He thought he had months, years.
I ride that bike and I knowwhen God calls me.

(10:44):
I ain't got no more days.

Ron Meyers (10:46):
Amen.
Well, listen, I'm going to takea break and when we come back I
want you to talk about that, about the tomorrows that we're
planning to have.
Maybe we need to have some kindof come to Jesus minute.
Ok, yes, sir.

Rick The Biker (11:03):
Amen to that.

Welcome back listeners.
I've got Rick the biker in here, this big, intimidating man.
He's not my bodyguard.
I don't know why I need abodyguard I don't do anything
but if I need one, I want onethat looks just like you, thank
you.
And so it is really a kind of afunny picture in your mind, you
big biker.

(13:00):
But then soft is a teddy bear, cuddly is a teddy bear because
of Jesus in your heart, and youwould probably give the shirt
off your back to anybody on thestreet, wouldn't you?

Rick The Biker (13:12):
Yes, sir, I would yeah.
My wife calls me her cupcake, her cupcake.

Ron Meyers (13:19):
All right, thank you , ramona.
Yeah, all right, cupcake, well,cupcake.
We're talking about a lot of us.
We are planning tomorrow andthe Bible says that enjoy today,
because we don't know whattomorrow will bring.
So right now, you've seen deathin person, you've lost a couple

(13:44):
of wives.
So now, at your age and all theexperience, what wisdom would
you share with somebodylistening?
That's just living for today, and you know what Jesus is in
the rear view mirror.
He's not even in the rear viewmirror.
He's just nowhere in their life.

Rick The Biker (14:02):
Well, all I could tell really is tomorrow is
not promised to us.
As a matter of fact, the next10 minutes is not promised to us
.
You could hop on that bike, getin that car and you think I'm

(14:23):
driving safe, I'm operating thisbike reasonably.
But the enemy is everywhere.
And if Jesus doesn't have you,who does?
And it's either?
Or you think, oh, I am me, Iown myself, I own myself.
No, you don't.

(14:46):
Somebody owns you and they'regoing to do with you what they
want.
Yeah, satan is going to makeyou sick.
Satan is going to make you feelbad.
Satan's going to infuriate youand make you say things that you

(15:07):
normally wouldn't say to aperson, somebody you care so
very much about.
You're going to say some thingsto them that hurts.

Ron Meyers (15:20):
Now you say that almost like you know that for a
fact, because that was your oldme, that was your old life, that
was me.
Wow, you're a meanie, I was.

Rick The Biker (15:31):
Wow, I try not to be Because it becomes so
ingrained.
It's a drug.
I don't do drugs anymore.

Ron Meyers (15:44):
When you can intimidate people with your size
and strength in your voice, italso kind of, I would think,
gives you a little bit of power.
Wow, look at, I have thesepeople.
That's the drug.
Afraid of me, that's the drug.
So then now tell us, how doesMr Tough biker, rick the biker,

(16:08):
now Jesus turned you into acupcake, according to Ramona.
So what's life like with Jesusnow?

Rick The Biker (16:19):
Before, like I would tell people there's nobody
.
I couldn't whip.
I knew how to.
I learned how to fight and whenI was in the army I learned how
to fight.
Before that I was, I was just.
I went be a little kid.
I was bullied all the timeBecause of that.

(16:40):
I learned how to fight in thearmy.
I learned how to defend myself.
I learned how to hurt people.
Jesus got ahold of me and hesays I will repay.
Revenge is not for you, aggression is not for you.

(17:06):
I am the way, the truth and thelight.
No one comes to the Father butthrough me, and I know you want
to see.

Speaker 5 (17:19):
Him.

Rick The Biker (17:21):
Do you?
And I ask anybody out therewho's who's at all curious?
Who do you want to see?
Do you want to see God, theFather?
Do you want to see Him on Hiswhite throne, angry, or do you

(17:41):
want Him to say welcome home, myson or my daughter?

Ron Meyers (17:49):
Amen.
So you are in a mission now.
Everywhere I go I don't care ifI'm at Best Buy or Windexy or
see on the motorcycle you have amission to tell people about
Jesus.
Let's do a little role-playinghere.

(18:09):
You are going on the highway onyour motorcycle, you pull up to
a stop light and you have theopportunity to talk to someone
across from you.
Here's Rick the biker.

Speaker 1 (18:22):
I'll even have a few sound effects.

Ron Meyers (18:25):
We'll have the little bike going.
I have to put a little step andwe'll find all right, do your
thing.
What do you got from me there,mr Biker?

Rick The Biker (18:33):
I pointed one of my patches and it says Satan
sucks and it's not being vulgar, but it's true.
He will pull money from you, hewill pull your health from you,
he will pull your very lifefrom you.

(18:54):
Only Jesus will save you.
Come, follow me.
We'll park somewhere and I'lltell you all about my Jesus.

Ron Meyers (19:04):
Yeah, that's good, that's good.
So how is life now?
You just seem so happy, you andRamona she's your third wife.
Fourth, she's your fourth, myfourth wife, my last wife, your
last wife.
So you guys seem like you'rejust a marriage made in heaven.

Rick The Biker (19:28):
Well, with Jesus in the middle of this marriage.
It cannot fail.

Ron Meyers (19:37):
Amen.
Before we go, can I get you topray for the listeners right now
?
Anybody that is listening tothis.
Rick the Biker, alias cupcake,is going to pray for you.

Rick The Biker (19:52):
Almighty God.
You have your childrenlistening, but you also have
those who have not asked for theHoly Spirit to come into their
heart.
They are not yet your family.

(20:15):
They might think they are, butI also know that you love them
so very much.
You went to the cross for them.
You took, you offered to taketheir sins, for them to feel the
pain that we should feelbecause you took it for us.

(20:41):
Please, o Lord, reach out tothem, call them, call them to
repentance and call them tosalvation those of you listening
who have not yet asked forChrist in your heart.
It's easy, it does.

(21:02):
It doesn't cost you anything, but it does change your life.
It puts you on the track ofhappiness and love, but it also
puts a target on your back, butit's a target that you'll love.

Ron Meyers (21:29):
Amen.

Rick The Biker (21:31):
Almighty God, please, please, please, reach
out to these who don't know you.
They might have been justdumbing through the Internet or
on the radio.
Grab their ears, grab theirhearts and change their lives

(21:58):
and give them life.
In Jesus' name.
I beg you, please, god, jesusAlmighty, at the right hand of
the Father, include this intoyour intercessory prayers to God
, the Father, holy Spirit, youknow what is needed.

(22:21):
Go to them, become real to themand make them my brothers and
sisters.
Those of you listening, youtake on this offer.
You might not have a mother, father, brother, sister, or you

(22:44):
might have dozens, but this is aroyal family and you will be a
prince or princess In Jesus'name amen, amen.

Ron Meyers (23:00):
Rick the biker man That'd be good.
You picture him, friends.
Black leather, six foot five,300 pounds, praying that prayer
in here.
I'm waiting for the lightningbolts to come down, but when
Jesus gets ahold of your heart, wow, that's a change, good job.
One last thing before I let yougo.

(23:22):
The title of the show is calledGet the Hell Out of your Life.
How do you get the hell out ofyour life?
Turn?

Rick The Biker (23:31):

Jesus is in heaven with God,but his Holy Spirit is here.
Amen, and you can see himHonestly.
You can see him.

Ron Meyers (23:49):
Amen.

Rick The Biker (24:09):

She's a good baker and a goodcook.

the opportunity.

Speaker 2 (24:24):
You're listening to Get the Hell Out of your Life
with your host, ron Myers.
Real stories, real strugglesand real hope.

Speaker 5 (24:34):
All the religions of the world focus basically on
man's efforts to reach God or toplease God by accomplishing a
set of tasks or by doing goodthings.
All the world religions, thatis, except one.
Jesus Christ came to live theperfect life that, frankly, you

(24:54):
and I are just not capable ofliving.
And as perfect as Jesus was, hewillingly died to pay the price
for the sinful life that youand I have lived.
That makes Jesus inescapablyunique in the world and all
religions.
It is not about religion withJesus anyway, did you get that?
It's not about religion withJesus.

(25:15):
It's about your relationshipwith him.
To find out more about how youcan receive the forgiveness of
Christ, provided only byfriendship, by relationship with
Jesus, call us now at888-NEED-HIM or go to
chataboutjesuscom.

Speaker 1 (25:33):
Ron will be back in a moment to wrap up today's
conversation.
We want to encourage you todaywith God's promise to you.
It comes from the book ofJeremiah, chapter 29, verse 11.
For I know the plans I have foryou, declares the Lord.
Plans to prosper you and not toharm you.
Plans to give you hope and afuture.

(25:56):
That's God's promise to youwhen you choose to commit your
plans and future to him Now backto Ron.

Ron Meyers (26:07):
Well, friends, my time is up and, as you can tell
if you've listened to this showfor any length of time, I love
Jesus.
My guests love Jesus, becausewe know one thing Life sometimes
just plain sucks.
It's not about religion, it'sabout a personal, intimate
relationship with Jesus.

(26:28):
You can have in your car, yourshower, when you mow, go to the
gym, whatever it is.
I encourage you to start havinga regular dialogue with Jesus,
just you and him.
Pour out your heart to theFather, talk with Dad, and you
will find there is healing, there is strength, there is

(26:51):
inspiration, there isencouragement.
Jesus is the answer to so manyproblems.
It's not about attendance in abuilding, it's not about even
reading the Bible every singleday in all these devotions.
That's good, but there'snothing that can replace that

(27:12):
connection with Jesus.
Just you and him, and then hewill empower you to become
everything you recreate you werecreated to become.
You have talents, you haveskills, you have abilities, and
sometimes you get frustratedbecause it seems like nothing is
going right.

(27:32):
Well, when all else fails, thenit's time to try.
Jesus.
I'll be back next week, in fact, if you want to get a copy of
my story I mean I had a wildstory before I met Jesus.
I would love to send you a copyof my book absolutely free.
Just go to my website, thepromoterorg, and request a copy
