Another tough one.

So with dart uh, you know, as he was going
back out on the field, just didn't just didn't seem right.
So called the trainers over and said let's get him
out and make sure he gets looked at. So he
went in and got looked at and ended up being

evaluated for concussion. Ten point lead there in the fourth quarter,
And you give them credit. They made a lot of
plays quarterback, made a lot of plays, a lot of
loose plays, scramble plays, and just didn't get the job done.

Speaker 3 (00:46):
Right after that penalty, Yeah, to the half yard line,
I guess the half did you think maybe we'll go
for you?

Speaker 1 (00:56):
Yeah, I thought I thought about it.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
I thought take the points, get ten point lead, and
fourth I start of defense was playing good.

Speaker 4 (01:05):
So Brian, we've we've talked to you a lot about
the number of hits that Jackson takes with running not
getting down.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
Things like that.

Speaker 4 (01:11):
Is is this one where you feel like get caught
up to him?

Speaker 3 (01:16):
Is the fourth time he's been checked for a concussion.
He was sore of getting up a week ago.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
Yeah, Yeah, it's unfortunate, but you know, unfortunately got hurt.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
Right, What is happening with your defense? And then it
just seems like there's too many of these easy lead.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
Yeah, they made you know, they made some good plays
there at the end, Caleb, I thought, you know, we
had them a number of times where we're didn't get
him down in the extended plays, which we knew he would.
He did in the Raiders game. He's done in plenty
of games. He did it the series before he booted
out on the last series and went down and scored.

You know, tough, tough, uh, tough way to lose. Checked
immediately after the play that bumbled because it looked like he.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
Hit his head.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
It was yeah, no, I mean they know, no he wasn't,
so if they would have called him down. But when
he was going in there, somebody said something like, what like,
don't put him in So just a clarify you, Yeah
I did, yeah, coaches on the sideline, but.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
Yeah, just took him out.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
You're talking about like what he was back out play?

Speaker 2 (02:34):
Yeah, I don't know what it was, Pat. It was
in between a series, so I think it was good
to go back out there. Well, I said, make sure
you go get checked by the doctors and brought the
trainers over. That's what I did.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
Unfortunate like a lot of people would say.

Speaker 4 (02:48):
But if you keep getting your quarterback hit like the likely,
but that something happens like this for time he has
been checked.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
What do you say to that idea?

Yeah, I just say it's unfortunately got hurt, right.

I mean, is this sustainable the way that he's playing.

I know you don't want to dampen his competitiveness, and
you love his fire and all that stuff, but I mean,
he's not two hundred and fifty pounds, and this hits
that he's taken, they've clearly taken a total the point
where now he's got a concussion.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
It is going to miss time.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
Yeah.

Look, I'm not sure exactly the play that had happened Connor,
So you know, I'm just I'm concerned for the kid.
You mean by I don't know the exact play that
it happened for him relative to.

Getting hurt or not getting hurt. But I don't I

I don't know when it was.

I mean, I just I just know that when he
was going back out there and we were sitting around
a huddle, I saw him. I got Ronnie over there
is to check him out, Brian.

Kind Yeah, well, I mean right now, we just had

I'm why do you think that the team can't finish
and close games?

And what do you what do you see happening in
these games that you guys can't get it back?

Speaker 2 (04:30):
Yeah, I mean there was a number of things today,
so there was you know, all three phases.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
Just didn't get the job done.

Well, you feel like you're heavy answer turned around?

Speaker 1 (04:44):
Yeah, yeah, but it hasn't been.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
So there's another tough loss. I believe in the guys.
We have people in the in the room, coaches and players.
Lost another tough one, Connor, So you gotta start doing it.

What have as some of these bad collapses made have happened?
What if you tried to just stop them from happening again.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
So in other words, when you look at them, like
let's say Dallas Denver, when you see a game like
this starting to spiral, what have you talked to the.

Speaker 3 (05:21):
Team about to try to prevent it from happening again?

Speaker 1 (05:24):
Yeah, well have a next play mentality?

Speaker 3 (05:26):
Uh?

You know, I thought Shane tried to mix it in.
You know a number of times these last couple of drives,
play zone pressure, play man. The two got the two
plays that that Caleb got out were man. You know
there was a number of plays. You know, we had
to punt that game. The short field you know, there
was a number of plays. Is just one thing, which

usually is.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
Are you worried about your job intun Yeah, I'm.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
Just focused on you know these guys in the locker room.

Speaker 3 (05:56):
You you kicked the field a short field goal. You
didn't kicked some low people.

Speaker 4 (06:01):
Was that a conditions issue, a winding issue, a cool issue?

Speaker 3 (06:06):
What you no?

Speaker 2 (06:08):
You know, the one to Belly, I thought we had
a good play. I thought Kafk had a good play.
You know, it had a number of fourth down and
one plays. You know, the first one fired came down.
We had a little pick play for Wan Dell and
just didn't hit that one. Uh felt kind of a
hard play action to Belly which was close there.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
In the end zone.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
We hit the fourth and one the motor where he
made a great play and I'm not sure he would
have had it, but ended up making a great play
for it. Had to keep two went forth, you know,
four times hit two and and didn't hit the other.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
In the locker Roomter, this test losses a lot. What's
your message after the latest way? How did you how
did you get through? These guys change?

Speaker 2 (06:54):
Yeah, you just gotta you know, they're they're tough losses, Dan,
they really are. Everybody puts so much into it. The
coaches put so much into it, the players, you know,
and it's painful when you have when you have these endings.
You know, you stick together and you know that's what
that's what you have to do. But it's not it's
you know, it's not as easier said than done. Those
are tough, man. You put everything you got into it

each week, you know, whether it's game planning practices. Let
the guys competed their tails off out here for you know,
the whole game, and then to come up short.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
It's tough. It's tough guys.

In the What what do you even say to them after?

Speaker 2 (07:31):
You know, just that, yeah, just just that you stick together.
That's that's what you have to do. But again, there's
a number of plays, a number of things that that
could have happened that that usually don't happen when you
lose the game, or happen when you win the game
and the other guy's battled but just didn't get the

job done.

Jackson was playing before you know, it's play good.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
Yeah, David, you guys have talked all about the players
have talked about the emotional lift Jackson.

Speaker 4 (08:08):
What was that like to see him halfway obviously you
know he was in the tent, but that to see
that long walk.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
As you got to try and drive down the field.

Speaker 3 (08:17):
I mean, you feel like this team recovered emotionally.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
From having seen Yeah, you're really in the moment art.
You know, we and you gotta get ready to play.
And Russ had to go in there, and you know,
I have confidence in Russ, but I never want to
see any of you guys go now
