Speaker 1 (00:00):
Frost sense of regret with what happened. We appreciable.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Do you feel like, you know, not you personally, but
as a team, do you think there's a sense of
we let him down? I think we we we all
wanted to win, you know, I think we all want
to be able to be successful and do all things
were pay full of Obviously we showed that.
Speaker 1 (00:18):
I think in those games, you know, to lose fourth.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
England the road and that fashion was tough, you know,
you know, it's just games that we.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
Like I said earlier, we could have won, We should
have won. We actually were leading in you know, that's
that's tough to stuff to.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
Lose those, you know, so but we all wanted to
do that for for for us in our organization.
Speaker 1 (00:36):
He rest when when CAF said that you were not
going to start on Sunday, what was your reaction to that.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
Yeah, obviously I want to play, but also you know,
James's worked his butt off, you know, to give him
the great opportunities. The guys played in this league for
a long time and he's one of my closest friends.
Speaker 1 (00:50):
I know he'll do a great job, and I'm helping
him prepare.
Speaker 2 (00:52):
The best way possible, I'll be ready to go, you know,
and and all that, and felt ready to go last game,
you know, obviously, and I just got us all way
down in the one you know in g ard Line.
We didn't we didn't get it unfortunately to go forward.
But you know, it's part of the game. And uh,
we thought we were gonna win the game there and
feel go and all that, but it didn't work out.
Speaker 1 (01:10):
So I know, with Jamis, though he works his butt off.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
We like I said, we have a great dialogue and
he's a great teammate and his work at least.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
He's a very excitable guy.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
Obviously, it's part of your role to kind of reel
him in a little bit, you know whatever, and let
him be him, you know, and he's going to be
He's got to play a lot of ball, like I said,
and you know, and uh, you know, you know, he's just,
I guess, a great teammates. He's been the rock. He
can do a lot of great things. He's a great
leader for us. We're we're we're gonna suppor him the
best way possible.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
How different has this journey, How different has this journey
been with this team since you signed and you expect
it to be.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
Yeah, I mean I think you know what happens in
football is is there's this period of time of you know,
three months, you know, in the season, early lectually early.
Like I said, yeah, I think you think about certain play,
certain moments. It's you know, I got back the Vals game,
we score over twenty three, twenty four seconds left, they
gotta figure out I can make a seven yard yard
(02:07):
he may probably made it for eighty uh and it's
just like, okay, tough one, tough one to lose, you know.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
And then you know, the Saints game, we turned the
ball were five times in a row.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
I mean, it's hard to win football games, you know,
but we still feel like we had a chance in
that game. And then Denver obviously we were ahead of
that game, should have won that one. And then this
past week, you know, so that changes those four games
that we feel like we should have won.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
Changes everything.
Speaker 2 (02:31):
I mean it's you're, what six and four something like that.
We had six and four with those and that's the
reality of the football, you know, and sometimes it goes
your way and sometimes it doesn't. I remember being in
a year in Seattle we won won, unfortunately be able
to win nine games by you know, scoring a lot
of points. But it was all you know, six six point,
seven point, you know, eight point games something like that,
(02:53):
all close games.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
And that's just the shift, you know.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
And and so I think that to be able to
to capitalize on that, I think it's just the final
details and all the little things we got to do.
Speaker 1 (03:02):
Right. You mentioned the.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
Part for sure given away the season is gone.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
This a place you still want to be.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
Yeah, I mean I love it here. I love my teammates,
you know. I just you know, I want to see
us turning around. You know, I know God's got a
great plan for me. I don't know what it is
today the second as I stand here, meaning that, you know,
I just want to wake up and have a great
practice today. That's why you don't want to have a
great practice today. I'm zoned in on that. And you know,
I want to I want to see it through. I
(03:30):
haven't asked for a release or anything like that. I
want to be here, you know. And but you know,
I think for me, I just want to get better
every day and I still want to keep playing football.
I love it obviously, and I feel like I still
got it. So that's what I want to be able
to rust.
Speaker 3 (03:43):
You mentioned that that you got, you know, them all
the way down to the one inch yard.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
Line a week ago.
Speaker 3 (03:47):
How close the Dallas game was, you were in a
couple other ones where you were starters. Do you feel
like you're not out there for matters out of your control?
Speaker 1 (03:53):
That You're sorry? I said it one more time. I'm
not out there?
Speaker 3 (03:55):
What for matters out of your control, outside of your
playing ability?
Speaker 2 (03:59):
When you've done, I just want to make sure I'm
answering your question the way I need to. When you
say that matters out of my control, what do you
mean by that?
Speaker 1 (04:05):
So, for example, you're.
Speaker 3 (04:08):
There's two ways you can you cannot play struggles on
the field. Your performance is why you're not out there,
or things outside of just your offer.
Speaker 1 (04:15):
I think that's a collective part of it.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
I think you always want to be able to play better,
you know, find more touchdowns, find more moments. You know.
I feel like, you know, Washington game, we had some
contested places and just they didn't go away. You know,
it could have made a couple put more plays here
or there. You know, the game is still close and tight,
you know, and you were down in the red zone.
The first time down there, we try to do a
(04:37):
cool play down to Marcus and it just didn't work,
you know.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
And then they make a couple of plays down there.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
And it's just how how the game goes, you know.
Speaker 1 (04:44):
It's it's about winning. It's about you know, it's not
about anything else other than that. You know, for me personally,
it's just find finding ways to win. We weren't able
to do that, Dalla.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
So I thought we were able to find you know,
a couple of times we were able to find a
way to win, but we.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
Didn't win it. So that was unfortunate part, you know.
And the Kansas City same thing. You know. I try to,
you know, take a shot.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
Down the field a couple of times, and they made
it play and and.
Speaker 1 (05:07):
So that's just you know, I'm never going to be
gun shy, you know, in that in that sense. But
I think, I think, going back.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
To your question, I think, you know, I think the
competitive juice of me is, you know, always wants to
be out there and always playing and competing.
Speaker 1 (05:20):
But yeah, I think, like I said, I love this team.
I love the guys we have.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
I think Jackson's done a great job stepping in you
know how Jamis does a great job stepping in. I'm
doing to do everything I can to be a great
teammate and a great leader.
Speaker 1 (05:32):
You know.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
That's either on the field or on the sideline, whatever
that may be. And just yeah, I love the game.
I'm obsessed with it, man, I'm obsessed with it. I'm
obsessed with that. I just want to see us win.
I want to see us, you know, celebrating in the
locker room together, you know,
