Speaker 1 (00:02):
From the shot huge find out Calf brings in switch turn,
what's happened on something positive?

Speaker 2 (00:18):
I mean just understanding that, like you have to put
your best foot forward. No one's gonna come and save
the day, you know, for us, we have to do
it ourselves, no matter you know, if we're winning or losing, Like,
no matter if you have you know, a new head coach,
no head coach, whatever, you know, whatever situation is in
this locker room or on the coaching staff, like, no
one's gonna come to save us. So we have to,

(00:38):
you know, put our best foot forward. And then also
understand that Calf is our interim head coach, So we're
gonna go out there and and and ball out for
him because we know that you know, he got our back,
We got his back, so we trying to make sure that,
you know, we're doing our best to make the transition
easy for him because it's a lot on his play
as well. What was the first I think you given

(00:59):
Tim Kelly like dot touch of coordator. I mean it
was it was more more so the same to be honest,
like TK always talks. He always talks, never like silent
or in the back. He's always talking. We're giving his
input on the play, So it was more so the same.
It really wasn't anything but anything different about it. It
was just he was talking a little bit more obviously,
just because you know, Calf was doing his own thing

(01:22):
for the head coach of stuff. You always hear that
this is a business, and you just talked about the
responsibility that players like this happens. Does it provide a
sense of urgency? Is it like a wake up call
to the whole locker room, the whole team that we
got to do our jobs to stick around and it's
not just in this team, but in this league. Yeah,
I mean I feel like that's always the case.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
Though.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
You always gotta have a target on your back. You know,
every single year there are scouts going out to college
just trying to replace you. So you always have to,
you know, again, put your best foot forward each and
every day. I mean, if you're not gonna do that,
somebody else is gonna come in and do it for you.
But yeah, I kind of do think that it was
a spotlight on the business side of things, just because

(02:02):
especially for me, I'm a second year. Last year, obviously,
you know, Dave came back, so I really didn't have
to go through that, you know, so now like going
through it. It definitely does like I said, put put
a flashlight on the business side of things.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
