I don’t know what Sunday was like for you, worshipping hours after news of our nation inserting itself into another violent conflict, but I often find these times to be hard and to make it difficult find or understand where God is in it all. But then, I’m reminding of where Jesus stood on issues of major disagreement and how to settle them: by seeking reconciliation. By doing the hard work of repairing relationships not the easy work of ripping them apart.
So as we continue with this series, Be, I’m reminded of those words that have echoed throughout our tradition. Be reconciled. Let’s talk about that a little bit today and see where it leads us to go and search for the divine presence in the midst of the chaos all around us.
2 Corinthians 5:16-20, Matthew 5:21-24
