Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is the Good
Neighbor Podcast, the place
where local businesses andneighbors come together.
Here's your host, Nick George.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
Welcome to the Good
Neighbor Podcast.
Are you in need of a path totimeless beauty, hormone health
and holistic wellness?
One might be closer than youthink.
Today I have the pleasure ofintroducing your good neighbor,
marissa Parchman, with TimelessSkin and Wellness.
Marissa, how's it going?
Speaker 3 (00:29):
Hi, thank you so much
, Nicholas.
I'm so happy to be here.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
We're excited to
learn all about you and your
business.
Tell us all about your companyor your practice.
Speaker 3 (00:37):
Yes, so I own
Timeless Skin and Wellness.
We have two locations.
We have been in Denver in theLohei neighborhood for a little
over 10 years now and werecently opened our second
location in Littleton.
It's actually a Littletonaddress, but it is in the Ken
Carl neighborhood.
So we are super excited toexpand and offer internal and
(00:57):
external beauty services toeverybody.
A little bit deeper on that, um,a little bit deeper on that we
have been a medical spa since weopened, offering injectables,
anti-aging treatments, laserservices.
We do a lot of facials.
We even offer laser hairremoval.
And with the changing industryand, more than anything, my
(01:19):
changing and growing passion inwellness and for external beauty
, I have learned so much abouthow internal beauty, internal
practices, are really the numberone way to get the external
results that you want when itcomes to anti-aging and real
beauty.
So we rebranded the beginningof this year.
(01:42):
We went from timeless laserexcuse me, it's hard to talk we
went from timeless laser totimeless skin and wellness and
now we are really a 360 internalwellness medical spa.
We offer hormone health.
I specialize in anti-aging anddetoxing the system, and we have
grown to be a team of educatorsthat really just want to help
(02:06):
those who are kind of lost whenit comes to skin conditions,
inflammation in the skin andeven deeper hormone health that
often is affecting those things.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
Wow, how did you get
into this business?
Speaker 3 (02:22):
Well, I got into this
business doing spray tans and
teeth whitening.
I originally started a smallbusiness doing spray tanning and
teeth whitening, and those aretwo services in the state of
Colorado that you don't need alicense for.
So that's how I got into thebeauty industry and since I
started 14 years ago, I havejust grown into this 360
(02:48):
business of wellness.
It's just grown.
I mean, it's grown mostly withmyself, but now I, over the last
couple of years, have beenadding practitioners that really
complement the services thatI'm providing.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
What are some myths
or misconceptions in your
industry?
Speaker 3 (03:07):
One of the biggest
myths and misconceptions that I
hear people say is that detoxingis fake, that we don't need to
detox, that detoxing is a scam.
And it's so interesting to me Iam a licensed esthetician and I
see so many people with skinconditions and people come into
me and they honestly need aninternal wellness doctor, and
(03:30):
that is one thing that's made meso passionate about detoxing
the system.
I personally struggled withacne for years and now that I
approach skin conditions from aninternal place and not always
topically, just skincareproducts, it's very interesting
the pushback that I get frompeople who are like well, I'm
(03:53):
coming to you for a facial orI'm coming to you for skin
concerns.
Like, why are you telling meabout my health?
So the biggest misconception isthat internal health does not
affect your skin.
Who are your target customerstoday and how do you attract
(04:16):
them?
Now?
My target customer is anybodywho wants to improve their
wellness, anybody who wants toimprove their quality of life
and educate themselves on thingsthat they can do in clinic, but
also things that they can do inclinic, but also things that
they can do at home.
I'm currently attracting mostof my clients from Instagram and
we have a very strong presenceon Google.
(04:36):
I hope everyone will check usout on our Google profile.
We really pride ourselves inhaving a five-star rating and
Instagram.
I love to post educationalvideos on my Instagram platform,
so anybody can find me on TSW,on Instagram, at TSW Marissa,
and our business page istimeless skin underscore
(05:01):
wellness, I believe.
So that's where you can getmost of the complimentary
information that we have tooffer.
Speaker 2 (05:07):
Thank you for
articulating that.
Have you ever thought aboutdoing your own podcast, since
this is so unique in yourindustry?
The evolution that you've takenit in.
I have Outside of work.
What do you do for fun?
Speaker 3 (05:22):
I work, I love to
travel, I have a stepdaughter
and a husband that I love dearly.
My husband is Bulgarian, fromBulgaria, so we try to get to
Europe as often as possible and, honestly, we're really
easygoing.
We don't do a ton.
We garden, we go out whenthere's something exciting to do
(05:42):
, but we really areentrepreneurs that focus on our
businesses and are trying togrow a life that we can spend
half of our time in Europe.
Speaker 2 (05:50):
Let's switch gears.
Can you describe a hardship orlife challenge that you overcame
and how it made you stronger?
What comes to mind?
Speaker 3 (05:58):
You know, I think the
biggest hardship and challenge
that I've had, especially in mycareer, is the competition.
This industry is growing sorapidly and we used to be one of
three medical spas in, I think,a three and a half mile radius
and we are one of 27 medicalspas in a three and a half mile
(06:19):
radius.
There are more medical spasthan Starbucks, which is a very
interesting statistic.
There are the most medical spasin the United States, in Denver
and in Salt Lake City, utah.
So it was a re.
It was a very strong shift inthe industry, really rapidly,
(06:40):
and competition kind of sweptthrough the neighborhood and I
think that can be verydiscouraging to people and I,
you know as an entrepreneur, don't panic, I pivot.
So that would probably be thebiggest thing that I've had to
overcome is the competition thatswept through my neighborhood.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
Marissa, please tell
our listeners one thing they
should remember about timelessskin and wellness.
Speaker 3 (07:02):
I would love for
everybody to remember that we
are here to help you.
We are here to meet everybodywhere they're at.
For everybody to remember thatwe are here to help you.
We are here to meet everybodywhere they're at.
This industry is very expensiveand it's never our goal to give
information just to grow ourbank account.
It's very important for us togrow our reputation of
compassion and empathy, and whenI say we can help everybody, I
mean that, and our consultationsare very much geared towards
(07:25):
how can?
What do you need?
Not necessarily what do we haveto offer you.
If there's something that wedon't have to offer you and I
know somebody around the cornerthat can serve you better then
that's really who we are as acompany and a brand.
We are going to give you honesteducation and point you in the
right direction.
Point you in the rightdirection.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
I remember you said
the social media places that you
were you could be found, butplease tell our listeners again
that your traditional websiteand the phone number any other
ways that they can.
Speaker 3 (07:58):
they can reach out to
you.
